Desiree McCarthy-Keith, M.D.

Dr. McCarthy-Keith has been a blessing to our lives. Our fertility journey, like many others, has been a long path with many barriers. Along the way Dr. MK has been there to support and guide us. She is a great advocate for my heath as well as she encourages me to self-advocate. The team she surrounds herself with is equally impressive and have made what has sometimes felt like never ending disappointments, spaces for hope and possibilities. We are currently pregnant and thankful to Dr. MK and her team. They have supported us over 5 years and we know that they will be there moving forward as well.

I am forever grateful for Dr. McCarthy-Keith and the staff at Shady Grove Fertility. This past month has been a challenge for me. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer and wasn’t sure what that looked like for me planning ahead in the future. Dr. McCarthy-Keith talked me through on steps to take, possibly freezing my eggs if I considered having children someday. She was very informative and helpful. I was treated with care and empathy. I’m thankful that I had the chance to freeze my eggs before chemo. Thank you so Dr. McCarthy-Keith and Shady Grove for everything you did for me.

Dr. McCarthy Keith is the most compassionate doctor I have ever experienced. She truly wants the best for you and walks through the emotions and stages of fertility treatments with you. She is everything you need in a fertility doctor. When we had a miscarriage, she grieved with us and was compassionate through every step. She always took the time to talk with us and answer any questions. She helped us get our miracle rainbow baby and we couldnt be more thankful for her and her team. I would recommend her to all of my family and friends.

Dr McKarthy is simply amazing! She is extremely knowledgeable, and will do everything in her power to provide her patients with the best possible outcome. I have been blessed to work with her since 2019, and she has been nothing but encouraging throughout my entire fertility journey. Every time I was ready to give up, she held my hand, and provided alternative methods of treatment to suit my needs. After many trials and tears, I can finally hold my baby in my arms every day. Thank you Dr. MK!

From the very first interaction with Dr. MK, I felt immediately comfortable with her. Dr. MK and her staff were always available to answer questions and fit me in for appointments. I never felt like SGF were trying to take my money and always got honest opinions and felt valued and cared for. We had three failed IUIs and decided to move forward with IVF. The IVF cycle went as planned and we were able to implant an embryo which led to a healthy full-term pregnancy and birth of our son, Michael in April 2023.

Dr. McCarthy-Keith is a wonderful, caring physician who gave my husband and I the confidence we needed during our infertility journey. She is patient, kind and truly cares about each of her patients. After 3 unsuccessful IUIs and 1 round of IVF, we finally have our beautiful baby boy in our arms. With 4 more embryos on ice we will definitely be back to see Dr. MK when it’s time to grow our family again.

When we moved to Georgia, we asked our RE for recommendations for REs in the Atlanta area. Dr. McCarthy-Keith was not on the list. However, I believe that a fellow black woman would be the best for my care. Boy, was I wrong. In the initial consultation, we were met with so much hostility that my husband wondered what we had done to her personally. Throughout the process, while the nurses were great, we felt like we were being a bother to Dr. McCarthy-Keith. Luckily, we were able to move to one of the originally recommended doctors. Going to SGF was a waste of time and money.

Dr. M.K. was heaven sent for my husband and I. We had been trying for 5 long years. We had seen another fertility specialist several years prior and decided to stop due to being overwhelmed and frustrated with the process. Plus, we felt like they just didnt get us. We prayed and felt led to Dr. M.K. From the very beginning the experience was warm, caring and encouraging. We had several delays during the process due to medical things that came up with me during the process (fibroids, etc). Dr. M.K. and her staff continued to encourage us to stay the course and not to lose hope! We are proud to say with the help of Dr. M.K. and her amazing staff we have successfully completed the fertility process and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our twins. Dr. M.K. is the absolute best! She gives you honest and caring feedback and guidance. She is extremely knowledgable and found the best process for my husband and I. I would recommend her to anyone I know. We cant thank you enough Dr. M.K.

Dr. McCarthy-Keith was not only professional but a please to work with as well. When my husband and I went to our first appointment July 2017 she said I would be pregnant by the end of the year. Fast forward to November 2017 we were expecting! Now we have a beautiful baby girl!! I would recommend any one to her!!!!

Omg I cannot say how much I am thankful to this team at SGF, especially my doctor Dr Desiree McCarthy-Keith, and her nurse Crystal. They were so patient with me, working with me through all that I needed to do to ensure success. I have been waiting to get pregnant for over 9 years and finally did IVF for the first time and it worked.My doctor in PA for some reason was wasting my time unnecessarily ever when I told him I wanted to move to IVF. I had done over 6 iui’s with no success.And anytime I would mention IVF he would always mention some secondary procedure he would want me to do instead of moving straight to IVF. I had to move from Pennsylvania to Georgia for my IVF. I did that during covid so in 2020 and within 6 months I was pregnant. Unbelievable right? I really thank GOD for his mercies for making hubby and I make the decision to move to get help and we ended up at SGF.I waited to get on the waiting list for Dr MK, but I didn’t mind I was patient because some how frer reading all the reviews about her I knew in my heart she could help us and she did.I remember the first day after talking to her, the last thing she said to me at that convo was “well let’s get started and get you pregnant “ that music to my ears and I was so relieved to hear that. Well I’ll stop my story here. Just know we transferred a male embryo and it worked and we have our baby boy now. Good luck my loves and remember GOD first and then I’ll a at Dr MK. She is a God- send.

IVF is an overwhelming process. Dr. MK and her staff made the process so smooth. They were prompt in answering my many questions. I had heard so many horror stories and this was the best experience I could have hoped for!! I highly recommend her for your fertility needs.

Dr. McCarthy-Keith, M.D was absolutely amazing. She has such a warm spirit and down to earth personality. As soon as I walked into her office, she gave me what other fertility clinics did not and that was hope. I am now a mother of a healthy 6 month old baby boy!

There are so many positives to this facility, Dr(s) and staff, it’s hard to summarize it all. I’ll start off by saying that I initially came to Dr. DMK after experiencing a very bad and difficult process with another Fertility Clinic. There, I was just a number with a bank account. When I met DMK (as I call her), she didn’t rush me through my story, she was open and honest about the process (the good and the bad), she shared some of her story with me and most of all, she let me know that she believed not only in the same higher power, but also in the process. While she promised no guarantees, she did promise to do her best to get us our baby! This road is tough, it’s definitely not for the weak. DMK never gave into any of my requests or when I tried to by-pass certain things, if she didn’t believe they were in the best interest of my end goal. I saw her regularly (not like other facilities that just pass you off to the nurses and PAs). She responded to every email I sent her (timely)...imagine that. The day of my transfer she and I had a one on one for just a few minutes and that positive energy along with every staff member who was part of my treatment cycle is what got me through and got us our BFP!!! 11 weeks later...I’m so thankful to God, for sending me DMK, her nurses and the phlebotomists. They are really passionate about their assignments and truly wants everyone to win!!! They don’t give up, when you do! They listen to you cry, your frustrations and more...all with a smile & prayers!!! I recommend DMK and GRS (Shady Grove) to anyone who is truly ready to take the same faith walk and journey to your greatest blessing!!!

This review is 2.5 years late, but better late than never..A little backstory on how we ended up at shady Grove fertility SGF. Well you know the saying After every storm, there is a rainbow. Well my fiancée and I have been trying to conceive for about 4 years without any success, due to pcos. So we decided to seek help. Instead of doing research , like we normally do. We reached out to RBA this is when the storm began. when I say the worst experience ever!! I mean the worst. RBA dont care about you or your feelings. They run unnecessary test, you can never speak to the actual Doctor. You have to email via a Portal and hope to hear back from them, you receive misleading information and waste $,$$$. So after spending thousands on test and meds to find out the cause of infertility, Pcos which we already knew. I was given the okay to start treatment. So I go to schedule my appointment only to find out it was cancelled, because we were not married ( which they already knew) I was told we have two option 1. To pay $2,500 to meet with a lawyer to sign a parenting agreement or 2. Go to the court to get married and plan my wedding later. I would say the doctor behind this nonsense, but she jumped ship and now works at SGF I wonder why?Two years later we decided to try again. Doing reach this time. We found out that SGF offered free seminars . So we attended it on February 7th 2018. The seminar was lead by Dr.Mk it was very informational . Nearly a year later on February 12 , we delivered our G/B twins.Now back to Dr.Mk and her staff. SGF is amazing!! Everyone is well educated and HONEST . They had answers to all my questions. DR.Mk theyre not enough words in the dictionary to describe you! Anything I write would be an understatement. This woman is God sent. As a matter of fact the entire staff from the front desk to the lab technicians ,doctors, assisted everyone welcomes you with open arms. Trust when I say you are in good hands. They are my second family! Working with RBA I was told the only way to get pregnant was IVF another lie. Mean while at SGF, IVF was never brought up. After a few procedures (blood work, scans , SHG and HSG a few meds) it was IUI time. Lord and behold I got my BFP on my second IUI and werejusy like that were pregnant. Not just with one baby, but TWO .What a difference it makes to do your RESEARCH. I want to thank everyone at Shady Grove for making our life complete. You guys are my rockstars. Dr. MK Im so glad that you came into our lives and helped us on your journey. You will always be apart of our life.A special thank you to Dr. Namnoum and the Blood work technicians you guys will not be forgotten!!Oh yeah I just had a miracle baby. In the time it took me to write this review. I went from zero to 3under3 .In two years... Dont lose hope!

We were on a journey that we thought was hopeless until we met Dr. M-K as shes affectionately known. I remember walking into her office and her straight talking set me right at ease. I knew right then and there we were in excellent hands. Thanks so much Dr. McCarthy-Keith youve made an impossible dream a reality and we are forever grateful.

Dr. McCarthy-Keith and her staff were wonderful as they guided us though our IVF process. She made sure our process went smoothly and that we had every chance at a successful implantation.

Let me just start with from the front office portion of the clinic ! Ms.Debbie and the ladies are so kind and understanding,very known to try and sweeze you in for an appointment if late .most people charge late fees or tell you u have to wait hours due to high capacity of patients being seen .on to MY awesome Doc Mk I had so much respect,for her from her honesty and knowledge she gave me and my husband .she doesnt just tell you things to make you feel good she tells you what you need to hear.i have unexplained infertility both myself and my husband and she told me I GOT YOU ! When she said that I knew , it was going to be my time Im pregnate now .I did 5 iui and 1 IVF cycle and Im 18 weeks pregnant with a little girl .doc mk makes sure you are not confused as to whats being said and going on with your treatments and if you are you better believe she will break it down take her time and get your understanding ! I love her and appreciate everything shes done for me and my family ! I encourage and have sent a few friends to her already but she stays so booked so that should tell you something ! Baby dust to all of you!

When I thought I just couldn’t have a baby, after 2 failed IVFs and 5 Failed FETs. We went to visit Dr McCarthy-Keith and we regained hope. Currently we have our healthy baby girl. We just couldn’t be more happy. God bless Dr McCarthy-Keith and the team.

Fantastic doctor- supportive and provides excellent guidance to help achieve your goals! She was patient and creative in learning more and more about my body needs, adjusting medications, and helping me achieve pregnancy!

To date, I have not started my IUI procedure, but Dr. McCarthy-Keith, M.D. and her staff have been great and very helpful. Ive learned so much about my body. I look forward to this journey. I will post update :)

Dr. MK is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone. She is very knowledgeable and extremely caring. We had a great experience and have recently welcomed home our baby boy.

Clinic was good in the beginning until u dont do what they ask. You are in charge of your health. Financially, they did not want to work with me on what i have. I know it can be expensive but they were more money concern than patient concern.

Extremely knowledgeable physician, great bedside manner. Office is personable and professional. Great communication via the patient portal. I highly recommend Dr. McCarthy-Keith.

Had a really bad experience, I am very disappointed with every one in this clinic except with Dr.Mccarthy, I am moving my embryos to another clinic.

I’ve called this office several times and no one seems to be answering the phones. Very bad first impression- I have an appointment soon and I’m not even sure that I want to deal with these people.

Dr. McCarthy is truly a wonderful woman. When you believe that there is nothing more to do, it reassures you and leads you to think differently. The solutions proposed according to your problem are explained and once the choice is made, the follow-up is strict but very human.
