If you’re looking into going to Mabel Wadsworth for prenatal care, DO NOT! Mabel Wadsworth has made it so I can no longer carry full term. I’ve suffered multiple miscarriages because of them forcing a d&c procedure, without giving me any other options. 7 years ago I miscarried, but my body wasn’t getting rid of the fetus on its own. Mabel Wadsworth failed to tell me my options and forced a d&c procedure on me, and without telling me that I’d have further pregnancy complications in the future because of it. I was young and uneducated about these practices, putting my trust into my doctor, and they failed me. I now have massive adhesions and scarring on the inside of my uterus, causing many miscarriages and tragedy for me. I may have been young at the time, but it wasn’t their choice to prevent me from having children again. I feel like I was personally attacked, before this procedure I was a teen mom of 2, and I feel they made that decision to prevent me from having anymore children on purpose. I will never recommend their services to anyone, and I will forever blast and bash them for what they’ve done to me.

They give great care, but theyre very difficult to get a hold of. They rarely answer their phones, so if you have an urgent or time-sensitive question/concern, good luck! There have been at least 4 or 5 times where this issue has almost resulted in me missing important medical appointments and procedures. Plan to ask for medication refills and telehealth links ahead of time, as you most likely will not get through to someone on the phone when you call. When youre actually able to get through to somebody, the care they provide is absolutely great, but they really need to work on that communication piece.

This place is awesome! Im not trans, but they are very adament that no matter who you are or what you identify as, you are welcomed with open arms.I had my first exam just yesterday. The staff were very open and accepting, and when I mentioned that I was nervous, they walked me through the procedure so that I was comfortable.During the procedure itself, I was told about everything that was going on, and when I got too nervous I wasnt pushed to continue. The calmness of the NP I had was really helpful!I felt very respected and calm during a procedure that had me nervous for over a year to do. This place is really amazing and I would recommend it to anybody!

The absolute best annual exam I have ever experienced. Everyone I interacted with was extremely respectful and kind. My care was consent-driven and informative, and I didnt feel rushed at all.

Mabel Wadsworth Centers policy on providing non-judgmental services really is upheld in the clinic. Regardless of who you interact with, they will all welcome you with open arms, regardless of your circumstances. They make sure that all reproductive and sexual health services are accessible, regardless of your finances. I am so happy to have found them and I could not recommend them enough!

Full disclosure: I work for Mabel Wadsworth Center in development and communications, so I do not normally have as much of an insight into the daily workings of our clinic, but I became a client for the first time this year with an annual wellness exam and wanted to share my experience. As a non-binary individual, it has been hard for me to seek care from providers who are comfortable with and respectful of my pronouns (they/them), but I was in great hands with NP Lindsey Piper at Mabels. Whereas my primary care provider was scared to check my lungs because I wear a binder everyday, Lindsey did that and more without question. She even checked in to see if I was using safe binding practices and talked to me about top surgery, as that was something that I had brought up as a potential interest for my future.Lindsey gave me space to ask questions and answered them without making me feel like I was being patronized or talked down to; it was a two-way conversation about my health, and that doesnt seem to happen very often with other providers.I know that my review contains bias because I work at Mabels, but, trust me, as a trans client, I felt nothing but respect from my MWC provider, which makes all the difference.

2020 has not been a kind year for many people, and we were not an exception to that. After 8 months of actively trying to conceive, my fiancé and I were so imbedded in trauma that it never really sunk in when the test came back positive. We have been through a lot and we are strong and capable people, but it was a moment of feeling like “it couldn’t have been this easy, not this year.”Too good to be true seemed to be the case in the end when we lost the pregnancy at 8 weeks.I had called Mabel’s around week 6 to try and establish care after having been turned away at other clinics because I didn’t it the demographic they wanted to treat. My situation this year, homeless and living in a van (which has thankfully been remedied), led to judgements and mistreatment in ways we should not have encountered—especially during a year when the world needs compassion and understanding more than ever.Mabel’s not only didn’t turn me away, but has been an anchor in my recovery and accommodating to me in every way I could ever fathom needing accommodation.I am hearing impaired and struggle with the current mask culture (wear a mask, it saves lives), so they allow me to have my partner with me in order to make sure we get the information we need. They also allow me to communicate with their office via email to setup appointments and confirm vital information.Lindsey Piper, our “Piper,” has been a shining example of compassion, acceptance, and exceptional medical care. She learned of our circumstances, of my non-binary gender identity, and our losses this year and she took ownership of our case. With deep concern, and ever present respect, she has served us beautifully and aided us in the start of our emotional recovery in addition to my physical recovery. When you walk in to Mabel’s you can rest assured that you matter. You will be treated with respect and dignity. You will be well cared for. If anyone has ever had a different opinion then I declare that the issue was them and not Mabel’s.

I love this place! Very clean and comfortable!! The staff is very friendly and understanding. They don’t judge you and always make you feel safe. They explain everything and if you have questions they answer you every doubt. Also, is very important to mention that I’m not very fluent in English and they didn’t bother by that. In fact, they make an exception for me and let my bf into the room for my translation needs. If I can give more than 5 stars I would. I recommend this place to everyone! Great service and awesome staff!!!!

Had a terrible first appointment here. Was rushed into the office, not listened to and then promptly pushed out because the doctor wanted to go home. Was hoping it would be a nice womens clinic but was sorely disappointed.
