Mickey S. Coffler, M.D., HRC Fertility (Huntington Reproductive Center)

In March of 2024 my husband and I met with Dr. Coffler for the very first time. We had previously been to other fertility centers with no success. After reviewing my records, Dr. Coffler said, “this is the year you will have a baby.” Fast forward to September 2024, I am now 10 weeks pregnant thanks to Dr. Coffler. He was fantastic during the stressful process.Amy was my IVF coordinator and she was amazing through the whole process! She gave me very detailed instructions on each step of the process, she was incredible at explaining each step. She was great when I had a freak out moment a time or two during the 2 week waiting period. She had an amazing way of calming me down. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Coffler, Amy, Ashley (my ultrasound tech), and the rest of the staff. Everyone was so nice and friendly.

I’m currently 11 weeks pregnant and it’s all thanks to Dr Coffler and his staff. Amy and Ashley are wonderful and really made my IVF journey stress free. They were great with making sure you knew what to expect after each procedure and made the overwhelming amount of medications seem so easy and manageable. I had to call the after hours line on two occasions expecting to get a call back later but instead was immediately connected with Dr Coffler. This office is great and they really do care.

Our concerns and questions were always met with patience and clarity, which eased much of our anxiety about the journey ahead. Amy, the lead coordinator and nurse, was always responsive and I knew I could always have my many questions answered in a timely manner.Throughout the IVF cycles, the medical team exhibited a remarkable level of expertise and dedication. They personalized our treatment plan based on our specific needs and medical history, ensuring that we felt supported at every stage. The procedures were conducted with precision, and we felt reassured by the meticulous attention to detail from all involved.One of the standout aspects of our experience was the compassionate care provided by the nursing staff. They were not only highly competent but also empathetic and supportive, which made a significant difference during what can be a challenging and emotional process. My husband was not able to be physically home throughout most of this process due to a military deployment, but the staff (specifically Amy and Ashley), made me feel incredibly supported and even loved/cared for, often stepping in for the additional support I needed.Moreover, the clinics facilities were modern, clean, and well-equipped, creating a comfortable environment conducive to both treatment and recovery. The administrative team was also efficient and organized, ensuring that appointments were scheduled promptly and that we were kept informed about our progress.Most importantly, we are thrilled to share that our perseverance and the clinics expertise paid off. Thanks to the dedication of the entire team and Dr. Coffler at HRC Fertility, we are now expecting our long-awaited bundle of joy. This outcome has exceeded our hopes and dreams, and we are forever grateful to everyone who played a role in making it possible.In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend HRC Fertility to anyone on their fertility journey. We are forever grateful to Dr. Coffler, Amy Johnson and his staff at the Carlsbad location. Our baby boy is here and we had an amazing journey at HRC. After going through 2 IVF cycles and getting the support from Dr. Coffler and Amy , we managed to get pregnant and I would definitely recommend them , you can’t put a price on a family but there is many resources that definitely help. After over a year of trying naturally we were referred to HRC. Dr Coffler is a terrific doctor, he’s patient, understanding and made us feel like we were heard and not another number. He answered all our questions. Our first appointment with the clinic was in 2022 Dr. Coffler was extremely thorough with all the testing for both my husband and I. During our work up we found out few obstacles, he provided us with different options while being also being realistic. Our 1st embryo transfer in November of 2022 & was successful which resulted in our now almost 4 month old. Amy his nurse was absolutely the most wonderful, supportive and knowledgeable person. IVF and infertility is hard mental, physically and financially. She made this process so much better, Amy kept me balanced and showed nothing but love and compassion during our journey to our baby. Dr. Coffler and Amy has been an answer to our prayers. We’ll be forever grateful for both of them.

I had a really wonderful experience as a patient of Dr. Coffler and his staff at the Carlsbad office.Dr. Coffler spent a lot of time explaining the process of egg freezing, the pros and cons, the statistics, and what I could expect. He was very patient with all my questions and I never felt rushed.Amy was my coordinator and very organized and supportive. I am currently a surrogate and my first time in this office was because they were my monitoring clinic. My original ivf clinic is in Newport Beach. Long story short my wife and I wanted to get our own journey started and I chose HRC Oceanside over my surrogacy clinic because not only are the prices more affordable but the girls in this office are amazing! They are always so helpful and are fun to be around! Ofelia makes it super easy to get appointments made and angel has literally not only made our experience delightful and memorable but she has also been so supportive through our journey so far. Dr Coffler is also the sweetest doctor. I’ve had my share of rude drs that have horrible bed side manners. My surro dr was rude and so was his staff. One of the reasons I chose hrc over them. Overall We are so glad we chose this office to help us grow our family!

My husband and I will eternally be grateful to Dr. Coffler and his team. We have two beautiful, incredible babies because of them. Our embryos are slow growers. We had two embryos to freeze at day 6 and HRC decided to watch them another day until day 7. Well we got 2 more embryos and one of them is a healthy 6 month old baby boy sleeping soundly upstairs. Unfortunately we had to move out of the area and have had to start at a new clinic in another state (who won’t even be entertain the idea of watching embryos until day 7). They don’t hold a candle to Dr. Coffler - would recommend 100%

HRC Fertility was a gift to me and my husband! Dr. Coffler and Angel exceeded our expectations in every way.We came here for a second opinion after a terrible experience with our first clinic. Dr. Coffler was patient and understanding. He explained why he was doing each treatment and how things could be modified after a cycle failed. He seemed confident and capable and he let us do treatment at our own pace. He also explained why different procedures were necessary prior to starting treatment, which was helpful to know. Dr. Coffler is compassionate too. I even scheduled a hysteroscopy procedure with him and went to the appointment, but was overwhelmed and cancelled it as I wasnt mentally ready. I felt so bad for wasting his time. Dr. Coffler called me that afternoon to check in, reassure me, and ask if he could help. So thoughtful! Another time I had emailed the nurse a question and Dr. Coffler called me and left a voicemail with a detailed answer regarding that question -- and this was on a Friday afternoon that he did that! Exceptional patient care.Angel is one of the most incredible nurses that Ive met in my fertility journey and Ive met many. Angel genuinely wants to help patients with whatever they need. She makes herself available. Email was such an easy way for us to communicate with Angel regarding our treatment, medications, appointments, etc. She responds quickly and she is so reliable! She even responded to us on a weekend once!I didnt see Dr. Coffler for monitoring appointments or bloodwork but I didnt mind that at all. I knew Angel would call me by the end of the day with instructions regarding next steps for treatment. I was also communicated with clearly and valued as a patient. This clinic is wonderful and made a world of difference in how we felt getting treatment for infertility. Thank you HRC!!

I dont think I ever left a review for Dr. Coffler so here is our experience. We did a full IVF treatment cycle with Dr. Coffler in 2013. We ended up with 10+ perfect embryos. 2 embryos were transferred and one split which resulted in twin girls. Unfortunately I delivered early and my littles did not survive. We have since transferred 2 embryos in 2014 and 2016 which resulted in one beautiful girl and one handsome boy. Dr. Coffler was kind, knowledgeable, and always listened to our concerns. Instructions were thorough and easy to follow. Harvest and transfer day were smooth. I would recommend him to anyone! I have nevwr forgotten the kindness he and his staff showed us. Thank you for our beautiful babies Dr. Coffler!

I feel compelled to write a review as HRC is our 4th fertility clinic (3rd for IVF) - so i have a good sense of how a clinic is supposed to operate at this point. we came to HRC because of a recommendation from someone we know who also had been trying for years. not only were we so pleased with the gentile honesty of dr. Coffler, but we were beyond impressed with the organization of everyone’s job responsibilities. i feel like after reading the reviews below we are speaking of completely different clinics. we have loved having a specific person who does our billing, and love angel who is our coordinator, and love malali (sorry if I spelled this wrong) who does our ultrasounds, and love ysenia who doesn’t miss my veins ever for bloodwork! i feel like their process is super efficient! okay to clinical recommendations, we are still working on bringing a baby into our family and have high hopes! dr. Coffler is very cautious with stims and does not over stimulate! he does the retrievals in Newport Beach but honestly every time we went it was such a quick hour drive, and so worth it because the facility is gorgeous and so prepared. dr. Coffler answers all our questions thoroughly and encourages us to ask questions! we feel safe! and most importantly we feel encouraged and cared about! i hope to be able to add to this review soon that we are bringing life into this world! for now we are thankful for HRC and dr. I went to Dr. Coffler for a second opinion because he was recommended by Fertility Center of California, Sperm Bank. But, before I went to him it was important that I research clinics that were LGBTQ friendly. I read and saw welcoming flags that this clinic would be a good place to possibly get advice. I was wrong! He is as homophobic as it gets. The whole conversation was unwelcoming, rude, and demeaning. Luckily, I have experienced this kind of discrimination many times in my lifetime and was able to keep my composure while I stared at a homophobic smug facial expression for the rest of our time together. Very sad to write a review such as this especially, when he was recommended by a solid and respectable company.This is an updated post.Right after I my post Dr. Coffler called me personally and offered a lengthy and compassionate apology. From the tone of his voice and the words that he used... I believe there was a misunderstanding. He stated that he would do whatever he could for my family towards bringing a new baby in our lives. I believe we all have bad days and are entitled to second chances.

We went here because of the online reviews my wife found regarding hrc. And Dr Coffler and his team were amazing. Were happy to be new parents to Elsa & Kaden. Fraternal twins.
