Dr. Shakeela Tawwab, MD

Dr Shakeela Tawwab has been my Gynecologist/Surgeon for many years. She is highly respected by me. Not only did she correctly diagnose me every single time, but she went above and beyond to give me the proper care as a physician to make sure that I was adequately treated. I wish I could give her a higher review. She is an excellent dr. Azmath has also been with the practice for many years, and she does a great job with the patients. Shes very well mannered, and such a joy to talk to.

I went to Dr. Tawaab about three months ago. I was a patient years ago so I was confident returning to her recently. Im sad to say this visit didnt turn out too good!! I went on my patient portal to see my results from my pap since I did get a call from the office. My results stated it was incomplete. The lab was not able to test the specimen and I should have it redone well her office staff never called me. Thank God I was my own advocate and checked . People nowadays youd better be your own advocate for your health, because most Doctors really dont care just all about MONEY 💰!!!!😞😞

Ive been coming to Dr. SHAKEELA for many years . She and the staff are absolutely wonderful. She has always attended to my needs and always feel comfortable with her. If I didnt have insurance I would pay out of pocket just to see her. Amazingly 👍 great

Dr. Shakeela and staff are really kind and professional, it was my first time going to the gynecologist and Dr. Shakeela was very thorough in explaining how the visit would go, also my results came back really quick and she took the time to call me personally and go over them. I really recommend this office!! Also the office it’s always clean and neat which it’s a huge plus.Just one thing I would like them to get better it’s in the timing of the appointments, I don’t like making an appointment for a certain time and then be checked an hour later.

Miss Almaty that checks you in is the sweetest lady! Always ready to help as soon as you walk in she greets you. Even Jayleen at the front is so nice and always ready to help. Dr. Tawwab is always sweet and so helpful. I love seeing these guys every 3 months :)

Everyone in the office and the nurses are very professional. Dr. Tawwab is reassuring and explains everything in a way I can understand. Azmath has a caring and understanding deminer, which I so needed at times. I feel I am in very good hands.

I have been coming to this office for about 15 years, and I wouldn’t change a single thing about it! The office staff are amazing and always very receptive and helpful in any way possible. Dr. Tawwab is the best! Every issue I’ve went through all these years, she always makes sure that we agree on the best solutions no matter what. I’ve had 3 surgeries with her and I couldn’t have felt more comfortable, she was there from start to finish and there as soon as I woke up! I love this office! I wouldn’t go anywhere else! I went to Shakeela Tawwab office in Deltona. I was having SEVERE pain & severe bleeding. Without any tests she said I had a small cyst on my ovary that didn’t need tx. I came back 2 weeks later 100x times worse. I’m telling her something is really wrong. She’s telling me a lot of women go through this. I finally go to the hospital & I have fibroids outside & in. I needed surgery & a transfusion. I could NOT get her to listen to me.

Doctor lied about my ultrasound results!! YOU WILL SPEND MORE HERE!! Almost spent $4k on an unnecessary surgery!! ❌❌🚩🚩🚩I should have listened to the other reviews. It’s true the doctor wears flip flops, and her staff are rude and unprofessional. I came in to have my IUD removed and the nurse wouldn’t accept that I just wanted it out and didn’t plan to get pregnant. I eventually just told them I was trying to get pregnant just to stop the pestering. They were pushy with inserting another IUD. I should have stopped and left there but I didn’t..After “searching around” the doctor couldn’t find my IUD strings so sent me to go get an ultrasound and follow back up. During the follow up I asked about the ultrasound report she said everything was “normal” but couldn’t find the strings and I’d need surgery to remove it. Costing me almost $4k after doctor fees, hospital fees, and anesthesia. Scheduling that was a nightmare as her staff just went ahead and scheduled everything according to their convenience not mine. The receptionist would often interrupt me. The doctor was super dismissive of questions and not very informative. Something in my gut told me not to follow through with the surgery and see a second opinion. The second opinion doctor was ABLE TO REMOVE MY IUD IN LESS THEN TWO MINUTES! OH!!! And I ended up learning from my INSURANCE (not the doctor) that I have 14 cysts in need of follow up!!!!! Doctor didn’t mention a thing about those!!I’m so glad I followed my gut and canceled the surgery. I saved so much money and I cant help but wonder if they made me go through all the hoops just to make extra cash on this “necessary” surgery.BE WARNED!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!

I needed to see this doctor for a specific reason but she wanted to do a Pap Smear first since it was covered under my insurance and I had to wait for the results to be able to see her again.The day she took my Pap smear she was in a rush since she was busy with the maintenance person, other patients and checking everything that the front desk team was doing.Next appointment she literally saw me for less that a minute and I had to follow her to the front desk to finish all my questions. She didn’t have the time to talk to me and explore options and listen to my concerns. This doctor is so busy running her business that she won’t have time for you. SHE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS.In summary I ended up with a procedure at the Fish Memorial Hospital cancelled the night before because this doctor failed to send the pre approval paperwork to my insurance. The hospital called her several times , even my insurance agreed to speed up the paperwork if she would send the authorization needed but she just did not do it. She and her staff are unprofessional and rude individuals to say the least. My perception is that this doctor doesn’t trust anyone so she has to micro manage personal, front desk, receptionist and does not CARE about helping patientsPlease save yourself a headache and don’t go to this office. I am still in pain waiting for a procedure that this doctor didn’t have 5 minutes of her time to call or email my insurance.

Doctor Shaleela Work in a good time frame, around my schedule, I be able to explain my concerns, really professional and respectful, staffing Almaty and Jaylene were really kind and supportive. The most important part was that the location is great for me because I don’t have to be driving around all Florida to find my doctors, my main doctor is also at same facilities which makes it more easy for me.

I dont even know how to describe this doctor. I went to get a pap smear and a regular check up. First visit was ok. Second visit was to get the test results for the pap (they didnt have it) and two ultrasounds she had requested to get done based on my symptoms. She addressed only one part of the findings in the ultrasound the cysts were totally ignored.She told meI had three options to remove the fibroid she found and recommended me to think about it what I wanted to do. She gave me paperwork and didnt explain much. Seemed to be in a rush to leave the consultation but I didnt put too much thought into it. I called the office few days later to tell them I had decided to get the ablation which based on what I read it was the least invasive, so they scheduled it for Nov. 22nd. A week prior I was called to the office to sign some forms and When I got to their office she told me that ablation was not an option for me. My only suitable option was to have my uterus removed. I was confused at the moment because she gave me the option to think about what I wanted to do and when I decided she said That was not an option. I started asking questions she was short in her answers. Stating that was the only right procedure for me and then accepting her answers I kept asking questions but this time about the whole process and she kept saying the surgeon will explain it to you. I repeated myself a few times insisting in getting a better understanding on the procedure and her responses were very evasive to the point that I got upset and I asked her to explain it to me because I was sure she knew or at least I expected her to know the answers to my questions. I left her office really mad about the whole questions situation. It is absurd to me that you visit a professional and have basic questions about procedures and their answers are evasive. I cant comprenhend. I didnt feel well informed. I changed insurance companies and I will get a second opinion soon. But I certainly wont recommend this doctor.

I will never come back here again. Bad vibe as soon as I walked in, should have trusted my gut and left immediately. Dr. was literally wearing flip flops when she came in to see me. She immediately lectured me about the type of birth control pills I was taking and not in a nice way. Exam was the most painful I have ever experienced. My exam sample was left with the lid off and I questioned her and she said it was fine. No paper towels or tissue in the exam room either. Do not see her if you can help it.

Today was my first visit with dr Tawwab. I had little to no wait time to go back for my vitals then was in the exam room with the nurse to go over some of my history and reason for visit. The nurse was very pleasant and did not rush me for answers. Which helped with my anxiety because i was there for a pap and have had some experience with unpleasant ones. I waited maybe 5 min.and dr Tawwab came in and greated me quite pleasantly. She did some follow up question and did not rush me. I must say this was the most gentle pap i have ever had. Never flet the spatula barely felt the swab and she was done. I have additional issues and she is acting swiftly to get tests done. I would recommend her with my first impression

This was the worst Dr’s visit, I have ever been to. First of all my appointment was for 10am and I got there about 15 or 20 minutes early. Took about 10 minutes to fill out the paper work. After that I sat down in the waiting r to be called in to see Dr Tawwab, well in about an hour later they finally called me in, took my Blood Pressure, and then waited another 15 or 20 minutes, before she came in. Said hello, did the Pap smear, and she never asked me if I had any issues, nothing. So I asked her how long it would be before I would get the results of the test. She said if it was good I wouldn’t hear from her. Never heard anything, but I did assume that she would have sent the results, weather they were good or bad to my primary care doctor who gave me the referral to see her. No she hasn’t sent anything over to my doctor. And a year later her office personal still hasn’t sent anything to my Primary Doctor.With as many patients that were in the waiting room, I thought there was more than one OBGYN DOCTOR in her office. Nope only her. Her office personnel are over booking her appointments, and people are sitting there waiting an hour. I don’t think Dr Tawwab cares, if she did no one would be waiting for an hour in a waiting room, and another 15 to 20 minutes more in the examination room. Her office personal should be sending results to the primary doctors. At least the primary doctors would know weather or not their patients seen the specialist.I guess the patients time isn’t a concern for Dr Tawwab or the office personal.And she has no personality at all. Felt like a meat factory, waiting in line to get slaughtered.SAD!!

Lady behind counter was probably the rudest receptionist I have ever encountered. Wouldnt give me back my ID or insurance card until I asked before I left. Had to repeat myself multiple times to the doctor. Told me she couldnt help me. I was literally in there for a referral for something she cant do. She has a rude tone as well. For my first visit with them, it will definitely be my last as well.

Appointments are in and out with all my concerns addressed. Dr. Tawwab listened to everything I had to say and has been doing everything to figure it out. I feel comfortable and well taken care of here

Stay away from this office! I went in after an ultrasound to go over the report and images. They were not ready, Dr. Tawwab just read quickly the report and proceeded to explain...when I asked about some issues, she went back to the report and actually read it and realized it was more complicated. She did not even have the images after I asked when I scheduled the appointment if they needed me to bring them or anything. Very unprofessional, DO NOT GO to her.

I began to see this doctor since my first year living in Florida, it’s not easy to find a GYN specially when you have been with the same doctor for the last 30 years like me. I have no complaints I think she is very professional she listens and she is very careful with her patients. If I ever need to go to GYN I will not hesitate to go with her again.

Multiple times the office has lost track of my co-pay and forced me to repay it, never following through on promises of refunds. I had a procedure done in September, Dr Tawaab forgot she had surgery with me and I sat in the pre op room for two hours before the nursing staff got a hold of her. When she came she was wearing flip flops and only briefly talked to me before the surgery. The anesthesiologists were more comfort than she was. When I woke in recover the Dr had already left without talking to me or my husband so I was sent home with no instructions. I called the next day hoping to speak with her but was told she was unavailable and was given a date for a follow up appointment. The day of the appointment I sat and waited an hour before she finally came to see me. She didn’t ask how I was doing and didn’t even inspect the incisions. She just circled the images of the surgery and left. I had three stitches and she insisted one would dissolve. After three weeks of it staying in place I realized it was a string suture. I ended up removing it myself to avoid having to go back in.The office staff is incompetent, especially billing. The only narrow plus is the nurses are nice enough. I am thoroughly disgusted with how Dr. Tawaab practices and how her office is run. They kick the cam down the road and nothing is ever their responsibility, even making sure your deductible makes it to the proper entity. Avoid her office at all costs and don’t just go to her because she’s nearby and has availability. Take the extra time and find a doctor that will take more than two minutes to check on you after surgery.

This was one of the WORST doctor experiences Ive ever had. On my first visit, I waited for about 40 minutes, only to be seen by the doctor for about 5 minutes. I was a new patient, and she did not take the time to get to know my history, or even listen to my symptoms. Then, after doing a PAP she told me to come back in two weeks. I assumed this was to go over my PAP results. When I came back, I waited for an hour, and again she only spent about five minutes with me. (No exaggeration). I tried to tell her my symptoms again and she literally interrupted me as I was telling her, and then she never listened to my symptoms. Then, she had not even gone over my PAP results, which was the entire point of the follow up appointment. I asked her several times to go over the results, and she kept saying that she would look at them, and then she left the room. So, I came out of the room, not knowing if I was supposed to wait for her to come back in or what, so I asked the nurse and she told me to wait in the waiting room. Upon checking out, I asked the doctor AGAIN to tell me my results, and she gave me my results as I was standing in the extremely small and cramped waiting room, where everyone could hear the conversation. She then gave me a prescription order, even though the results of the PAP were negative, and I asked what it was for, and she just told me it will cover anything. So at this point I was extremely confused and frustrated because she had no idea what the issue was (probably because she did not listen to what my symptoms were), and was just giving me a medication any way. Then, I had to go pick up the medication the next day at a different location. The address of that location was on the prescription order, but it was a completely different address than where her office is! So after driving around for an extra 15 minutes trying to find the place, and calling the office several times, only to be sent to voicemail, I finally found the location by chance. I asked the doctor again why I should take this prescription, and she told me the same thing, that she does not know if I have an infection, but if I do it will probably cover it, and if the symptoms still persist after taking it, then I need to come back. Well, I did not take that medication, and I am definitely NOT coming back! It seemed like she just wanted me to keep coming back to get more money from me, which they make you pay before you are even seen by the doctor. This doctor was very unprofessional, unfriendly, and a fraud. I would never recommend her and I am very upset that I wasted so much time and money with no questions answered or information given to me, or anything resolved.

I love Dr. Tawwab and her staff they are are always friendly and the doctor takes her time with me love her new office its so spacious and the rooms are very comfortable. She always listens to me and my concern I would recommend her to anybody friends and church members go to her as well.

Very poor bedside manor, when asking about my devistating diagnosis Dr Tawab was annoyed with my questions, tore a paper from a book and gave it to me and left the room. I was 18 and not worth her time. Needless to say I never returned.

The staff take good care of me Jaylene and Azmath. Also the doctor shakeela tawwab were very kind!

They don’t care about their patients. The staff and nurses are so careless. I just want my results so I don’t ever have to talk or call them again. I had my PAP smear 7 weeks ago and they don’t even have it! Nobody returns my calls or helps me. They just don’t care! It could be abnormal and honestly feel like they would let it sit in my chart and never call me. They failed me and my health.

**DO NOT ACCEPT THE DOCTOR TELLING YOU THAT HER OFFICE WILL ONLY CONTACT YOU IF THERES A PROBLEM WITH YOUR PAP.I was experiencing some unusual symptoms and went to Dr. Tawwab for a pap test. I was told by her, that her office would only contact me if there was a problem. Seven months later, I was still experiencing some symptoms which were not normal for me. I called the office for my pap results and they, initially, did not have record of me having a pap seven months prior. I was told someone would call me back. After a day of waiting, I called them and was informed that someone would get back to me within minutes. After 1 1/2 hours, I called to see if there was something wrong and was told that they were waiting on a fax from the lab, for my results. After not hearing from anyone for the rest of the day, I scheduled an appointment for the following week. On the morning of the appointment, the office still had not obtained my results (from a test performed and PAID FOR seven months ago) and the staff was scrambling obtain them. When Dr. Tawwab came in to see me, she gave me my results, showing that there was, in fact, a problem with my original pap.Is it too much to ask, that for a five-minute specialist visit, for which a patient is charged well over $100, that the office staff print out a piece of paper, address an envelope, and use a 49 cent stamp to give a patient piece of mind? This is especially necessary if the staff isnt actually following up to be sure they have received the results of the tests performed.

I Do Not DO gynecologist, I feel humiliated & embarist.However recently I had lower back pain & pelvic pain & had no choose But to go to one! So despite lack of star reviews for Dr. Tawwab I went to her because she was closest to me.I am GLAD now that I choose her! Her office is not great it is small and hot, (waiting time was not bad). And yes the actual examining room was so cramped I had to stick my shoes and bag under the chair I sat in for fear nurse/doctor would trip on them...but Dr. Tawwab and her staff made all the differance. They were friendly right from the first time I called as a new patient..that friendliness extended from there to the examineation. The nurse person took time with me to understand what my problem was and when Dr. Tawwab came in and did the examination, I did not feel badly, she actually smiles and laughs...I dont know about anyone else but my entire experiance with gynecologist (Im 49 yrs old) has been cold/no smile/no friendly...no human emotion! Dr. Tawwab is professional but still knows how to be human and gentle. I recommend Dr. Tawwab. She is a wonderful little gem

I had a visit to Dr Tawwabs office today which was my 2nd visit. The Doctor was extremely kind and caring as were her staff members.. The office was extremely busy but the treatment was not rushed I will highly recommend Dr Taweab for your female care and concerns. Thankyou to all staff and Doctor for the excellent care.

The Dr herself is attentive, She will sit and wait until you are finished talking and offers her suggestions and choices. BUT her billing depts practices are very lax and flimsy..you have to keep receipts and EOB otherwise beware of being billed twice or 3xs! HORRIBLE Experience- My Ins Co paid them for a overdue bill over 2mos ago - I can see the invoice paid on my phone app.but I was turned away after waiting 90mins in the waiting room- unless I paid them AGAIN. I am sad -I liked the Dr very much but I cant deal with the billing mistakes

No privacy. I could hear the doctor and her staff discussing my medical issue outside of the room, while I was inside the room with the door closed. When the doctor came in, her visit was short, after a long wait for me. She didn’t even sit down, didn’t listen, and seemed ready to move on with her day. In order to collect a urine sample, you have to go back into the waiting room, since apparently that’s the only bathroom they have.

I called to ask a question and I was put on hold. That was fine. I know offices are busy, but when I was still on hold for 23 min I was getting annoyed.. so I hung up and called back thinking I was forgotten. Turns out I was on hold while everyone went to lunch!! Not happy about that. I believe you should take all calls before going to lunch. It’s the respectful thing to do, take care of patients or future patients!!!!!!!!

Wait for a whole hour and the second the nurse took me in, she was giving attitude and not taking me seriously. After that, they asked for a urine sample and we’re going to do a PAP test but the doctor changed her mind and told me to get blood work done. Doctor Tawwab came into the room without letting me fully explain what was happening to me (18 days late and negative pregnancy results) and rushing me out by putting me on some prescription instead of really figuring out what was wrong with me. Total waste of time! Will never go to her again ! I’d go be them a 0 if I could.

If you want someone to argue with you over what you’ve been told directly by your insurance provider about your copay, they’re perfect. If you want to go to a GYN who usually wears sandals, this is your gal. Want poor communication? One particular office staff member comes to mind (the rest of the office staff are pretty kind ladies).

She has helped me for the last year for my GYN related problems. Her staff help me so much. I have enjoy her expertise on my health. She maybe quick but she is great.

Dr. Tawwab has been awesome. Very helpful. She listens and does everything she can to resolve issues you are currently having. I definitely recommend her!

I am extremely unhappy with Dr.Tawwab. Everytime I go to her office I feel worse then the time before. She is very unprofessional, she does not explain anything, nor does she answer any of my questions. I am going through a very rough time medically and she makes me feel horrible in every way possible. I am in limbo, lost, confused, alone. She makes me feel that she just doesnt want to deal with it, like I am only a number in her waiting room. Every feeling my doctor should not be making me feel, I feel with her. I wait at least a hour to be seen with a scheduled appt everytime then she sees me for 3 mins and sends me on my way. I know I cannot be the only one that she has made feel this way, and its just not right. I am changing doctors and I would never refer anyone to her. Please find a different doctor.

Very professional and good doctor and staff!

Do not go to this doctor if it is your last option. I couldnt give 0 stars so I gave one. Ive been dealing with a cyst for a while now and when I ask questions she makes me feel incompetent because in reality she is incompetent. Ive received more answers from Google than this doctor to the point I called her out on it and she replied Get a second opinion, GO to the hospital before storming out the room. Well the problem is last time she said go to the hospital I did and they even said get a new Gyno she is a joke and my issue should have been handled vs getting cut. She has no working sinks in the 3 patient rooms she has. You have to tell her to put on gloves prior to touching you while she goes from room to room doing pap smears pretending to be a gynecologist. I say that because its almost as if shes playing doctor. I have no idea where she got her license but it should be revoked. The mention of her name when you go to a qualified Gyno speaks volumes. Though the interns are nice individuals they are from D level tech schools and working under a play doctor so the lack of knowledge isnt entirely their own. The waiting room is so small people have to stand outside 9 people max but she seems to book 12 people at the same time. Ive had 2 children prior to ever seeing this woman and I thank God, I wouldnt definitely not recommend seeing her as a pregnant woman. She is on the verge of retiring and given up and just performs pap smears to bill low income individuals insurance companies and keep her practice going. BEWARE you have been warned DO NOT even give this Gyno a chance. I initially chose her because she is a woman and I thought she would be able to show empathy towards other women, no not here. This doctor and practice is a joke and should be examined.

Great staff and friendly doctor!

I rarely will give a rating. I felt awful here, it was dark, cramped and I was rushed. The examination room was tinier than a bathroom, the exam table was directly across from a mirror and she went to examine me without accompanying staff!! Not that there would have been any room. And she wanted to do a brush exam without any warning. Thank God I was having blood pass and couldnt have anything done. Oh yea, she charges way too much.

0 star if could. Long waiting room experience. Girl friend went in to get checked up. Questionable bedside manner as well as when she got examined because of concerns I have noticed. Was told a pretty much Im a man dont know anything about woman, and didnt want to hear my knowledgement of what I was noticing what was wrong. Went to another gynecologist. Was then told that they have a severe case of cancerous polyps and heavily chronic bleeding that had to be emergency surgically removed threw hysterectomy

I’ve been going to her since I was very young and she has always been amazing, her front desk girl is also amazing she always remembers me even after years 10/10 would recommend!

Let me start by saying that I have only been to this Dr. Once and Ill never return. I went a month a some days ago to get a Pap smear (that I havent had in 4 1/2 years since having my daughter) I went in and usually new patient appointment take from 30-40 minutes well I got there at 3:45PM and left at 4PM. I told her I wanted to be put on BC and no pills and she prescribed me pills she did a crappy job with my breast exam a child could do a better job and a Pap smear that took 2 seconds. I left and never heard back about my labs or pap. Needless to say I made the attempt to find out why they didnt call about it. They said they didnt have the results back yet. I work in a Drs office and got my blood work back a few days later. So Im highly disappointed that every time I call I get an excuse or reason why they dont have my results. So I found another OBGYN and wanted my records faxed over. I called and it was a day she was in Lake Mary and the girl who answered the phone told me I needed to fax my DL to get a BLANK medical release form...WHAT?!?! That is so wrong maybe if I were to fax it back to them I would send my DL to prove its me but to get a blank medical form is beyond stupid. There so incompetent at what they do idk how she is still in practice! Then after many attempts to get my medical records and many times they said they would call me back and never did I got my pap results! I will not return I honestly regret every stepping foot in there. Whoever decides to choose her choose wisely! Your health and time are are valuable but not to these idiots!!

Ive been coming to this practice for years.. you might sometimes have to wait a bit but at least you know once you go in youre not being rushed out; when it comes to my health its worth the wait. Very thorough, patient & wise. Thank you

The doctor has a very professional and respectful attitude to her patients.

Cant even make an appointment. I called and was told to call back at 12:30 pm because the appointment office wasnt ready yet. I called back at 12:45 pm and was told to call back at 1 pm because they were still unavailable. I give it 45 minutes and call back again but this time theyre at lunch and will be back at 2. Im glad this happened, now I know who not to trust with my body and unborn baby.

Did not take proper vitals or examination. Insisted on an issue that was not what it appeared to be and would not consult past information. Had a procedure done to remove fibroids that was not done completely, causing further complications.

I had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Tawwab. This is a clean office with friendly faces. I was blessed to have found Dr. Tawwab.

I think shes truly dedicated to her patients. Im new to her Lake Mary office and was treated as if I been coming for years. Thanks for the hospitality!!

When I was told to sit and Un dress I look to my right and there was blood on the table next to me ! I waited about 45 minutes and got up and left ! Avoid this place trust me !! I just had to get up and walk out !

Ive been going to Dr. Tawwab for over 20 years and in my opinion she is the best Dr. around in West Volusia. Shes very sweet and very professional.

I received good service from all the staff and the doctor was very attentive and explained everything in detail.

The worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. To begin with, the receptionist treated me horribly, she made me sit down with an attitude when I was still answering questions to another of the employees, all because she wanted a referral when she didnt need it, I have ppo, the doctor forgets everything, she is not familiar With the record, the reason for my visit is because I suffer from heavy bleeding, he had already seen me on three occasions in a row and in the end he told me we are going to leave it like this, but if you keep bleeding it comes back, so he came back to me three more times and he came back with the same story, really, come on, I will never set foot in that office again
