Planned Parenthood - Hackensack Health Center

I differ from the negative comments..I’ve been coming here since coming out of high school I am now 34y.So far so good. They treat patients with kindness &professionalism. Even during the hardest time a woman can be going through they treat me well & with respect follow up with me if needed. they prioritize patient accordingly. Just like it could take couple hrs for you to get out you can also walk in and out literally all depends on the situation. Thank you for keeping the space clean as this is the first impression one sees when they walk inside:)

I came in for a walk in & they said they couldn’t see anymore patients due to being over filled, I understood that but I drove 35 minutes and couldn’t even get a doctors note for a previous appointment, I asked her if she can at least give me one and she just said I can’t write you a doctors note you’ll have to come back another day, why do I need to come back another day for a doctors note they won’t even send it through email or fax either which is absurd ! , I get that she was busy but you can’t just search my name and write me a quick note so I can go on my way! If they can’t handle so many patients they should have more front desk staff! Now I’m sitting here waiting for a damn note ! This is so ridiculous The whole I can’t do nothing about it attitude horrible customer service !

Drove 30 minutes here just to be told they cancelled my appointment cause the clinician left early. I was never even called, texted, OR emailed about this. The old ladies at the desk seemed extremely bothered I even showed up. “Look around don’t you see it’s empty? You should’ve gotten notified.” lol they were so unprofessional it was insane. For the record, I was NEVER notified. No call or text. I even called the day prior about my appointment. These people do not care about you or your time. I’ll be calling the morning of my next appointment which is in a whole week from now. They’re definitely cocky since they’re the only Planned Parenthood in the general location. Their lack of organization and social skills is bewildering for this kind of clinic. I’m disgusted with the way I was spoken to and the time and energy I wasted even going there. If there’s a number I can call to formally complain, I’d be more than happy to.

I would not recommed this plce, I just went there for a pregnancy test and the front desk lady asked me what I would like to do with the pregnancy if is positive and I said I would like to continue with it and her answer to me was, in that case come back on Monday or Tuesday because we can’t see you today. In front of me it was a girl doing a pregnancy test, they did it for her, I guess maybe she will do an abortion. I don’t recommend this place and I used to come here for my regular check ups. 👎🏾 I would give 0 stars if possible.

This location is usually the best PPH around but with an appointment Ive been sitting in a crowded waiting room for over an hour with walkins going ahead of me. This is insanity.2.5 years later renovations are much more inviting and clean but the wait times are still longer than they should be for scheduled appointments.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had to make the hard decisions of my life which they made me feel worst about . The lady at the front desk was nasty and refused to run my insurance and claimed I didn’t have an appointment when I did. She asked if I had the money to pay and I said yes and she said well I don’t need to run your insurance. I cried the whole time the only welcoming person was the nurse. Please try to get a more welcoming caring staff because when you’re making a heart breaking decision you want welcoming people.

This has had to have been once of the cleanest PPH that I have been to. The office space looks very neat, tidy and spotless. I stepped into this office anxious, nervous and a bit sad (due to my reasoning for needing to be there) and came out laughing, smiling and being super grateful to have gone there. Wil was very comforting, supportive and patient with me during my visit. The nurse and doctor that I had met with were the sweetest people. At the end of the visit I was very (and still am) grateful for the kindness and understanding that they had given to me. I will be referring my colleagues/friends/family or anyone looking to get some care done, here. Thank you for your kindness ladies, you helped me get through a tough visit.

I was extremely anxious coming to Planned Parenthood as I’ve never been to one before and have heard some not so great things about it. Fortunately my experience here at Hackensack was made extremely pleasant by the lady at the front desk (did not catch her name) and even more by nurse Yvonne. My nurse, Yvonne, made me feel very comfortable and calm during my entire time at the clinic and I really appreciate her amazing hospitality. I’m very thankful to have such a good experience here and definitely would recommend to anyone else.Only downside is anticipate about 1-1.5 hr wait time even with an appointment due to high volume of patients.

I spent 25 minutes on hold. No one picked up, their website won’t register any phone numbers. So i can’t make an appointment online. Oh they also repeat the same message over and over again. After 10 minutes I just walked away from my phone.

Can’t even describe the service because I wasn’t even helped. I went to schedule an appointment for an STI check and they said they accept walk ins. I went in at 1:30 and said they stopped doing tests after 1 o’clock. Ma’am you’re open till 5pm so then what you you guys doing for the next 4 hours? If that’s the case then they really need to advertise that. Always had problems here and even if englewood is farther away. It’s worth it because this place sucksssss

Completely unprofessional aside from the asinine wait time we over heard the girls in the back describing someone’s vag skin like cottage cheese.

Made the appointment. I told them I was coming in for a routine Pap smear. My last one was three years ago after I called out of work was here for about two hours , for them to tell me that Pap smears are every five years and they won’t do it . they could’ve told me that over the phone instead of wasting my time and my day, I’m wondering if maybe she has no experience with Pap smears so they try to avoid performing them

They’re good but for whatever reason there’s like a very subliminal attitude in the atmosphere in there …like they try to discourage u as soon as u walk in with that “it’ll b a 3 hour wait” …it’s never that long ..it’s always less than an hour for what I go for which is testing ….then when u go back there they seem to rush everything and b real cold …like the idea of people being in the place irks them …it’s NEVER crowded …the patients are never rude or rowdy when I’m there so I don’t know what the staff be so miserable about …they need some Prozac in that bih …they’re too efficient to be acting all sour all day

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. i came here at 12:40 for a simple std testing as a walk-in since online it says there’s no need to schedule an appointment for testing, and i was sitting there for two hours after already giving my sample. i asked them close to 3:30 pm why the long wait and they said the “appointments are their priorities” and because i’m a “walk-in” i have to wait but what am i waiting for if all they need is my information if they already have my sample???? it was almost 4 pm and i needed to go to the bank before the bank closed at 5 so i left and came back around 5:30 and asked if they’ll take me and they said no since they called my name at 4:50 and i wasn’t there. first of all if i would’ve stayed i would’ve waited for 4 hours, that’s absolutely ridiculous. and there was like 3 people in the wait room and they close at 6:30 yet i couldn’t be seen???? terrible place and not even my first time trying to go there for testing, now it’s my second time still not being able to finish with my testing. and setting an appointment i would have to wait two weeks for the next availability, i hope i don’t have anything severe because it’s not like this place cares.

I do not recommend getting IUD placed here. I just got my copper IUD in October with them. I have been experiencing pain and when I went to my gyn for a string check, in the ultrasound it shows it was placed wrong. The IUD is not even in my uterus and also has been causing inflammation. I call them to let them know what happened and all they said on the phone was “is not guaranteed that you will get a new one” like seriously? A provider just did her job wrong. Should’ve atleast made me feel like you wanted to help.

3 hours waiting and I have an appointment that’s ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!They take walk in patients with is ok just respect the ones that have appointments!!!!!!!!!

I feel like they purposely don’t answer the phone. I’m calling within Operating hours and it keeps saying that it’s not operating hours, but today is Saturday and I’m calling at 9:51 so it is business operating hours. I want to call cause I want to get an STD test. The last time I went in they weren’t accepting walk-ins.

The reason I gave this location two stars instead of one is because the ladies who greeted me in the front were so helpful. As well as the Latina nurse who helped me. I walked in on June 16th, 2023.The reason for the one star is the ultrasound technician who was incredibly unprofessional. In the middle of the nurse asking me questions, she interrupts and tells the nurse to hurry up because she still has two ultrasound and needs to leave. She doesnt even acknowledge my existence.When she comes to do the ultrasound, she still doesnt acknowledge me. No Hi!, no This is what I am going to do.The icing on the cake for me is when she asked me, you have medicaid, right? It was probably the assumption she has about every woman of color. I wish I had Medicaid as our healthcare system is expensive for no good reason. I also am not implying there is anything wrong with receiving government help. However, to assume that based on what someone looks like is disgusting.I felt like saying no I dont qualify because I probably make double your salary. However, I decided to be the bigger person and not be self-righteous.That lady needs better training as I hope she is just ignorant.

This place is a waste of time. Not sure if because the STD test is free but I was there more than an hour before there closing time and they refused to see me saying it’s mainly done in the morning. Nothing on the website says that.

I normally don’t leave a review but this place is the worst. Don’t come here ! I came in at 12 for a appointment and wasn’t call back until 12:47. I was waiting for a pap-smear. I was waiting until they close . Mind you they close at 2, nobody came to see me at all. The red haired nurse had attitude when I ask her if I can reschedule. I hope the owner talks to his/hers staff! I would give this place zero stars if they let me.

First time here as a walk in. Soon as I get in it felt very homey and welcoming. Reception was friendly. Definitely nothing like those other planned parent hood that make you feel like you’re walking into a prison. Would definitely return to this this location

After a change in financial situation preventing me from seeing my specialist gyno in the city, I came here hoping for quality care and a doctor who would listen to my birth control history and prescribe the same “unusual” pill (the only one to work for me after many, many trials and errors). Although I had to wait about an hour and a half as a midday walk-in, the facility and care were otherwise superb, and the nurse and doctor were thorough, listened, addressed questions without rushing and filled my requested prescription. I’d definitely recommend and go back.

First let me say never be ashamed to get tested. Any time you double back on someone or get involved with someone new GO! Get there as soon as it opens so there isn’t more than a 10 minute wait. This specific location has gotten so much better. Haven’t been to this location in over two years. They ask way more questions, they are way more concerned, and they actually do vaginal swabs now and check for abnormalities while you are still there. Very thorough very genuine.

Literally one of the best medical offices I’ve ever visited. Everyone is very professional, sweet and caring. They always make you feel comfortable and try their best to help you out. The staff is hands down, best staff I’ve ever met. It also goes without saying that Planned Parenthood itself and the myriad of the services they offer are a godsend!

I was in the waiting room for over an hour for my scheduled appointment and eventually had to leave without seeing anyone. Had they told me before or even when I arrived that Id have to wait hours because of a high volume of priority walk-ins, I would have happily rescheduled... that makes me think its not unusual for people to wait hours for their scheduled appointments. Its a shame because its a wonderful location with a great staff, and I had been going there for years

On website they said is walking are welcome and is not. Been there twice this past week and both times the front desk said they don’t accept walking and to come back another day. Also front desk are not welcoming which I think is not professional at all.

I see everyone else has an issue with the front desk lady as well lol, how is she still working here?Giving 2 stars cuz the nurses was nice to me, front desk lady really kills all hospitality here though. I guess she must have seniority to be able to get away with such bad customer service for so long and everyone has reviewed it

Okay, true they are nice and if youre going there for check ups and such, its fine. However dont go there (i guess) about an hour before closing for anything important. I went there for about 2 weeks straight trying to figure out whats wrong, and on the final day of testing, the doctor seemed like she really wanted to go because she started packing up really quick. Not only did she give me a misdiagnosis, she told me my condition was life threatening (which turns out the results were not even close to life threatening at Hackensack hospital) and cost me $5000+. Thank god i had insurance but the final total amout was still hefty after deduction. So be careful for anyone who wants to go there.

Love this location, but will give 1 star for the phone issues. As if you are trying to call this location they won’t connect you with the office in Hackensack. You will be transferred to operator who can do just your appointment, who CAN’T solve or answer any other questions you have. It wasn’t like that before. Don’t understand what’s the benefit of this system. I’m trying to reach out the office/nurse or my doctor for last 10 days, as l don’t have a chance to come & ask my question directly due to work(in another state!) Keep calling to this representative and they keep taking my info & promising the nurse will call me back and NOTHING AFTER! No one calls back! Will have to change a doctor who l go to with my partner, cuz it’s ridiculous, not to have a chance to call the doctor (nurse) directly & find out what happened results of my test? Why l didn’t receive a phone call after results where back to office, why l didn’t get a letter by mail. Just being ignored.....Looking for another office to start going to to solve my issues. Upset, after going for 4 years there to get this service.Not recommended.

Worst experience ever. older receptionist with short brown hair was the rudest person i have ever encountered at PP. i asked her a question about how long it would take to pick up my medical records and she said she would check in an hour, and said she couldn’t guarantee they would have them. how do you not have records for a procedure i had done at your facility? against my judgment i came back for a check up and hey insisted on giving me a test for HIV and a pap smear. when i was in pain during the pap, the doctor physically held me told and would not stop touching me. then she told me my uterus was backwards which is why i was in pain. i asked her multiple times not to touch me and she wouldn’t stop. the worst experience of my life. if i knew how to press charges, i would

Ive been going to PP since I was a teenager and I have never been disappointed. I stopped going for about 2 years because I got insurance through the company I work for, and chose a gynecologist in network. It was one of the worst experiences I had, and so I went back to PP. Eileen is an amazing doctor who takes the time out to explain things to you, and the nurse Irene is kind and caring. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my annual visit.

This is my second time going to them and the second time they send my specimen to an out of network lab in TEXAS! There are so many quest diagnostics in NJ and I was adamant about not going through this a second time and the NP promised me it wouldnt happen again and that she even wrote it in her notes. I have really good insurance and I go to planned parenthood to help offset those who dont have insurance or cant afford it and now I have to pay out of pocket for no reason. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere more professional. Even with an appointment they make you wait a while. Truly infuriating and dissapointing.

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLEEEEEEEE. Very Very Very unprofessional. Not only was i late to work because they didnt see me on time when i was scheduled but also I got tested on the 22nd of june they got my results on the 27th of June youd think they would call you to tell you your results when they get it right and schedule an appointment. No they mailed it and finally the mail came to my house July 13th so what if i was having sex and spreading something around because i wasnt informed. Why fill out 5 pages of paperwork and ask for my contact information if you wasnt going to call me. “We’ll call you in a week for your test results” they said before i left. Going untreated for a std can cause sterilization and cancer. How do you call yourself a health clinic and you cant even perform simple tasks?? This clinic is very unprofessional i wouldn’t recommend it at all!

Absolutely love this place. I usually do evening or Saturday appointments and Ive been in and out within 1 hours time. The doctor was very informational to my questions and the rest of the staff are ok, they can be a little more friendly but overall love the place.

I’ve been a patient of this clinic for the over 3 years, a lady called Lupe almost always sees me and she’s the sweetest person ever, very professional and she cares so much about her patients wellbeing - I mean all the staff there are very professional and helpful- good clinic! They really worry about their patients.

This is not the first time I have been unhappy coming to this planned parenthood. I went in today to get a birth-control consultation and an STI test. Long story short, I’m scared that I may be at risk for an STI so I went in there with hopes that somebody from Planned Parenthood could help me out and give me the test that I need, but one very rude nurse told me that basically everyone has this STI and if I don’t have a symptom there’s no reason for me to do the test. I thought that most STI‘s do not have symptoms but you still need to get checked. I feel like it was absolutely unbelievable that I was refused a test for an STI when they go around preaching that everyone should get tested. So now I left with no answers and a $50 co-pay down the drain. How ridiculous is this? The only thing that saved my review is the doctor herself, she was very nice and help me with my questions about birth control. But the nurse that they have running the place is definitely not fit to practice there or anywhere for that matter. I thought Planned Parenthood was somewhere I could trust and was supposed to make me feel safe

I made an appointment a month ago with a woman over the phone, I drive 20 minutes to get there and turns out theyre closed for presidents day. I did not get a single call or text telling me that I had to reschedule in advance. Waste of time.

Ive gone here for years and have always had good service. I plan my visits in case I have to wait. There is WiFi and comfortable couches. This PP is one of the better ones Ive been to, its nice and has a comfortable waiting room.

Ive been going to this facility since I was 18. I absolutely love them, the staff is very friendly and kind. Yes, the wait isnt the best and long at times, but the doctor there has always been very helpful and answered any concerns/questions that I had.

Clean and friendly staff. First gynecologist I ever went to. They made me feel comfortable. There is a wait, but all places have a wait even with an appointment.

Made an appointment had to wait 2 1/2 hours just to get to the second waiting room I was late to work due to it ! Worst experience only 1 clinician on its ver ridiculous I would not suggest anyone going here. All I needed was one thing and they wanted to push me into multiple screenings for no reason!!!

Went for a walk in... front desk lady had a attitude for no reason. Also, apparently even though it says they take walk ins on their website, you have to call before going to make sure they have availability.

Terrible. Still haven’t received a call back about why my specimens got sent out to a lab out of network lab in Texas. Will NEVER be going back. System is rigged to make money off the poor to give a facade of being helped when they’re just playing doctor and going through the motions.

I’ve been to a couple of different planned parenthood and by far this has to be my favorite, the staff is very nice and friendly the nurses as well the wait wasn’t bad I was in and out in around 1 hour.

The place was fine good experience , but today I call because I received my results and needed a better explanation I was worried and the person that answered me on the phone was impatient and hung me the phone showing no interest call back to complain but they ignored but she did help me and was more patient but when I complained about the other person she ignored me.please hired someone who is more kind and with more patience!!!

Had an appointment for 1:30, it’s currently 3:45 with no signs of leaving soon. Ridiculous amount of waiting time, now I’m going to be late to work.
