Planned Parenthood - Hammond Health Center

This was my first time going to a Planned Parenthood ever and my experience there was great. I waited no less than 15 minutes to be seen. They talk to me thoroughly and we’re kind and did not feel judgmental at all. I definitely recommend anyone to come to this location and to not feel, scared or nervous because they are very professional. Overall, I felt great leaving and coming back!

I drove all the way to this location just to be signed in, checked in, and taken to one of the rooms in back with the nurse. Her manager pulled her out and apparently told her they werent taking new patients and that they wouldnt be able to see me. So instead of giving me a call beforehand and canceling the appointment before I came all the way there (I live in Illinois), they had me waste my time, gas, and pay several tolls just to turn me away. Planned Parenthood is supposed to be the place where people come for help when theres nowhere else to turn. What a huge disappointment this location turned out to be. Dont waste your valuable time and money here, go somewhere else. The staff here is very unprofessional and show no signs of empathy for patients. Will not be coming back to this location.

Very rude medical assistant there. She honked her horn several times to get my attention only to rudely tell me that their parking in back of office is for employees only. There is no sign saying employee parking only. I go in to office to check in and she covers her badge. She had blonde hair and pink scrubs on. Another entitled Karen, because if you ask me, pregnant females shouldnt have to walk to another parking lot. Learn to treat people better, you are supposed to be a professional after all you work in a medical field.

I love this planned parenthood location! i recently started going there for my birth control contraception. The staff their makes me feel safe, secured, and welcomed. Everybody is beyond friendly, gorgeous, and generous. also, they never let me miss my appt with all the reminders they send to my phone lol. THANK YOU PLANNED PARENTHOOD! xoxo- niya

My rating is based on my visit today and a past visit some time ago. My biggest complaint was the very long wait I had for my appt today. In the past I loved coming here however today really showed me why I should just stick to going to my obgyn. I chose Planned Parenthood over my doctor because theres usually a wait there. Although they keep the building clean, they need several upgrades such as the chairs, carpet, etc.

They are very sweet here, the front desk lady was very kind and caring. The nurses were also very nice, they dont make you feel stupid for asking questions. This location is way better then the Merriville one. They are quick and I didnt have to wait forever to see a doctor. Dont waste youre time at the Merriville one they are rude and you have to deal with the annoying bible thumping protesters. I had a great experience here and would definitely go back!

I came here to get an iud put in, but they called me less than hour before my appointment telling me my insurance didnt cover it. My insurance does in fact cover it. I called my insurance company to confirm this. My insurance company gave me a number for them to call, and they did not call it. They were too lazy to do that. I told them to call me back, they did not call me. So I basically wasted my time after leaving work early to go to be turned away when my insurance covered it. Then the lady I talked to lied to my face telling me they called my insurance company previously to confirm when my insurance company told me that they in fact did not call. Never going here again.

My first visit here was wonderful! All of the staff was so kind and comforting. I felt very safe and also learned new information about my health while being there!!!

The staff was very helpful and friendly, the nurses practitioner was very knowledgeable and took her time to make sure I understood what was wrong. It was very busy but I didn’t feel like my appointment was rushed. Would definitely go back.

They want you to pay $998 first thru don’t take insurance until after the procedure and they will reimburse you why go through all of thst when the insurance can just take care of it from the beginning it makes no sense

I’ve called numerous of time to schedule an appointment & every time I let them know what’s my appointment they hang up this been happening for a week now

I would give this office 0 stars very unprofessional my appointment was at 230 im still waiting at 430. Terrible businessNever coming back

Rude staff members slow service and not professional at all GO ANYWHERE ELSE unless you want to sit around and have the time to wait for hours then go here other than that no thanks worst service I have ever received in my life

Such bad service from them! Not very professional and they didnt perform all the tests I asked them to do!! Wont be back! Find another branch!
