They over billed me, they admit they told me the wrong price for my office visit. The office staff didn’t explain the payment well and the supervisor even told billing that office staff messed up. But they are not fixing it, they still want me to pay full amount. It took almost an entire month to be able to speak with billing department. I left 4-5 messages a week to the office and to billing. Because they were reaching out to the office to fox the issues well nothing was fixed. Honestly that is so unprofessional to do to a patient. And the only reason I am self pay is because they don’t take my insurance.I already felt my first appointment was a waste of time. I got no answers, just a bunch of tests ordered and still no answers Now they notate the amount in my chart so they can’t over bill me but why does it not have to be this way from beginning. All these doctors and offices make so much money, they should have to do something other then “oops sorry” . They said they will do training in the office to help them explain to what they call “self pay” how much they could expect to pay.

A stress Test indicated I might require a procedure to increase blood flow in my Heart. My Primary Physician recommend Dr Martinez at Charlotte County Heart Institute. Within hour of his the referral arriving there (the same day) I received a call from Robert, Dr Martinez assistant asking if I could make an office appointment the NEXT MORNING! Robert was very precise and explained the procedure so I was well informed. Then he asked if I could be available for the procedure two days later. Wow, if the past I have waited weeks for a hospital procedure. He directed me to the check out desk and the person there was already talking to Bayfront Hospital in Port Charlotte and had a time slot reserved TWO DAYS LATER. All this accomplished 1 1/2 hours after I walked in the door. Dr Martinez and his staff are top shelf, very professional and I highly recommend them, as well as Bayfront for their care.

Took 3 months to get an appointment with Dr Carragher. Discussed my tests which thankfully were ordered by my primary physician. He took a good history. Changed one medication. Told him I needed surgery clearance for the following month. He said no problem. Paperwork faxed to his office by surgeon. After ten followup calls from surgeons office, no cardiac clearance. Messages left with nurse with no response. Called office myself. They stated they had been paging him all day with no response by Dr. CARRAGHER. Looks like the hospital will cancel my surgery for tomorrow. What a waste of so many peoples time. What a waste of money. Multiple tests and blood draws. Visit to my primary, preoperative hospital appointment. WASTE BECAUSE ONE PERSON CANT DO THEIR JOB. NEVER AGAIN.

Firstly, I like Dr. Martinez but I havent actually seen him in over a year. Its been two years since my heart attack and stent placement. Ive been seen by Bob Henning PA since then. Basically he just listens to my heart and changes my medications. No follow-up testing? My PCP does all heart related testing for me. Why pay a specialist. The office hours listed are not followed and need to be edited. If and when youre able to leave a message, its almost impossible to get a response. Medication refills are Life! How hard is it to make a phone call, really.

I would have normally given a five-star rating for this establishment until a few weeks ago. The phones call I received from them was very scary and stressful. They were telling me that my doctor Melanie Stratton was no longer going to be with them and I had to choose another doctor if I wanted to keep my pacemaker observed. She was very insistent that I quickly choose another doctor. I told her that wherever Dr Stratton goes so will I. Also that I needed to talk to Dr Stratton before making any changes. She then warned me that I needed to get back to her quickly and hung up with a huff. Meanwhile I had just had my pacemaker checked the week before and seeing Dr Stratton and did not have another appointment with her until July now this was at the end of December through the holidays so I was not able to check anything and quite stressed out

So tired of last minute cancellations. Today 3 hours before scheduled stress test which has been booked almost two months ago. They called and canceled, then called back and acted as they were doing me a favor by rescheduling well over a month away. Dr. Appt. also cancelled. Have been going through tests for almost two months, still having same issues but there seems to be no sense of urgency on their part.Lost all confidence in Charlotte heart.
