Planned Parenthood - Metro Health Center

From the moment I walked in I felt so comfortable and safe. I have never felt so welcomed. Thank you to the staff for being so informative and kind. They walked me through everything, asked me many times if I understood every thing and were so kind.People outside start as soon as business hours do. I avoided them in the most polite way I could but don’t let anyone make you feel uncomfortable. You know what’s best for you and the staff makes sure you feel as comfortable with everything as possible. Thank you again.

I was a nervous wreck but all the staff were super kind and friendly! Nurse Dana and doctor Kaiser were super helpful, made me feel safe and sure about my decision. I left the facility with no regret, thank you!

The waiting room was terrible, they had us signing important medical papers on a printed screenshot you could even see the snapchat notifications on it. Wow really professional! The whole place was terrible bad service with us. This one experienced changed my veiws on everything about this place, Im pro life 100% after this experience all planned parent hood is are a bunch of left sided people who encourage you to pay hundreds of dollars just to kill your child.We where told a 1 to 2 hour wait tops but ended up waiting 4 hours making us late. Whats wrong with them

I have mixed feelings. My first appointment, which was at a different location, was good and balanced on my options. But when I came to Metro, I got pressured into making a decision and was lied to that if I took the first abortion pill, there’s no “abortion reversal pill.” I was also told that if I didn’t take the second set of abortion pills, “the fetus wouldn’t survive, and if it did, it would be horribly disabled.” I took the first pill and regretted it. I didn’t take the second pill, and I got on the abortion pill reversal, and my baby is developing fine.Update: I have a healthy baby.

My memory isn’t great, I was emotional so I can’t remember names but at this location the doctor accommodated me, she wasn’t technically working that day so I appreciated it.There is a very sweet, comforting older woman there, who really made me feel like she cared, and helped me feel better, she made my appointment as pleasant as it could be in this situation.

This place is incredible. They were so friendly and compassionate. I read reviews on planned parenthood and was nervous to go, IMO I truly don’t believe most bad reviews that I see on here after my visit. A lot of people don’t want planned parenthood around and I fully believe they leave bad reviews and say these people are rude so people get scared to go in. After going, I can honestly say that I can’t see any of these amazing people being rude or terrible to anyone. Everyone I encountered during my time at this clinic (about 8 employees - that’s quite a bit) were the kindest people I have ever met.Think about it please, a lot of people go in to this clinic, scared and not knowing what to expect. I’m here to tell you that even though the reason you’re going may be nerve wracking, they realize that and they are the most wonderful, kind hearted people to guide you through the process that they know is probably already hard for you. Trust me when I say these are good people and will help comfort you in anyway they can and be the most supportive, wonderful people to have by your side through it. They certainly help you through it with so much kindness and grace. I will forever remember the lady who did my intake, even though she didn’t need to necessarily be there start to finish because she was only doing my intake, she came to me at the end of the process and gave me the biggest most genuine hug. She knew I needed it and she was there.. and I’m sure I’m not the only one she has done this for.. that’s the kind of people who work here. Don’t let the negative reviews on here scare you, please. The people who work here are angels, they know what you come in for and there would be zero reason for someone to work here, knowing what their roles are and what they help with at this facility and to turn around and be mean to you about it or through the process you’re going too.. I just can’t ever see that being the case. Thanks for reading and I hope it helped.

The lady’s at the front counter are extremely rude. They do not work with you when it comes to payments and expect you to pay a donation and an entire fee on top of that or they will refuse you health care pretty much. I had an appointment 2 weeks ago prior and I was not told anything about payment, wasn’t asked how much I make, or what I could afford. There is a short haired lady at the front with salt and pepper hair named Veronica who is EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful she came from behind her desk and disrespectfully said “So what? You thought this was free?” Not professional at all and she’s lucky I was or it would’ve been ugly. My appointment was at 9:45 and I’ve been sitting in the waiting room for over an hour. They need new receptions that actually care about patients and aren’t just there for a paycheck. My nurse was very nice though and helped me and made me feel a little more comfortable

I made an appointment, took the day off work drove down there to find out they were closed. I call the next day and recognized the voice of the receptionist and i tell her what had happened. She says i dont see that you had an appointment. Seriously! I told her that she was the one who set it up. She gets a super snotty attitude and says Nope! I tell her ok. I need another appointment like asap. She books another appointment and its for like 2 weeks out. I double checked the date. She confirmed. Something told me that I should check the date. I looked at google and sure enough it is a scheduled closed day for them. So i call back, a different receptionist answers and i say hi. Can you please tell me when my appointment is, i forgot the date. Mind you, this is 15mins after i set it up. She checks and days you dont have an appointment.Are you freaking kidding me. I tell her that the other girl set me up for this specific date and she says ummm no, we arent even open on Monday. Why a would she do that. At this point im ready to cry. I hang up and call wasatch womans center and im venting to their receptionist about the issues and she say. You are not.the first person to tell me this. Seriously. Planned parenthood, your receptionist needs to be fired! Im 99% sure its the same girl as the one on the recording when you call the office.

Everyone we met was very professional, super knowledgeable, & incredibly caring. Highly recommend this facility & their staff!

I was super nervous about going here. But my experience was actually wonderful.The staff explained and talked me though everything. They all seemed to genuinely care how I was feeling.I had an in clinic, and before they started the procedure they needed to give me five shots to numb the area. The neeedles were big and the medicine stung pretty bad. I was pretty nervous about them. But while the doctor was doing them a nurse stood over me and asked me a bunch of casual questions. It took my mind off the pain and i didnt even feel half of the shots she helped me out a lot.The actual procedure wasnt very painful or long. But the medicine they gave me was strong and made it so that for a few seconds I could not hear anything and that freaked me out pretty bad. All the staff in the room did their best to help me calm down and breathe. They did what they could so I was comfortable an relaxed.There was a down side. The whole appointment took a very long time. I was there for a little over 4 hours. They do tell you about the wait in advance though. You have to get a few tests done and have a one on one consultation with a nurse to make sure you understand everything. Before you can have anything done. But overall it was not as bad of an experience as I was afraid of.

I have never been treated so disrespectfully of not only my time but also my situation. Appointment was at 2 o’clock and did not leave till 5:30 6:00 when asked how much longer my appointment would do be or how much longer I should anticipate being there I was given vague answers and completely brushed off on the next nurse looking for answers. When finally leaving the clinic I went to pick up my prescriptions which included my pain reliever and nausea medication it was not there. I contacted the nurse on call and was informed that she could go back to the clinic to resend them but she did have plans with her family she would hate to cancel with and would have to put them off to check on the status of my medication. (Again on call nurse) I was promised a phone call in the morning which I again had to initiate but when the nurse who I had spoken to the night before recognized who I was without even asking. She rudely answered and informed me I would have to wait and hung up! I would never ever recommend this clinic.

I only had one complaint. It did take longer than expected to get in.BUT!!!The AMAZING staff totally made up for every moment I spent waiting.Not only was EVERY single nurse/Doctor/assistant calm, concerned, and caring-they were extremely patient. Which really meant a lot to me, because I spent a lot of time in their office. They offered me AND my boyfriend snacks and Jucie multiple times while we waited, they consistently checked up on me (and the THREE other couples in the back room!!), and literally gave me no sense of urgency. I felt I could stay all afternoon if I wasnt ready to leave!This was without a single doubt the best experience Ive ever had in a doctors office.They definitely made me change my mind about the clinic I will visit, without even realizing it!

I never write Google reviews, but I decided to for this one. I just recently went and got a pregnancy terminated and before going i looked at some of the reviews for this place, and i was so terrified to go. I shouldnt have been at all! Everyone was so kind and patient to me, from scheduling my appointment for the class (the information class required to take at least 72 hours before the procedure), to actually coming in the day of my appointment. i read many reviews saying that nurses were mean & impatient, which was not the case at all. Every single secretary, nurse, and doctor i talked to was so kind, and calming, and understanding. All of them helped my nerves and emotions about the abortion more than i can even describe. They were very informative and made sure to explain everything that was happening that day and answered any and all questions I had. I also got the birth control implant in my arm the same day as the procedure, which they also gave me all the information on, and put in as they did the procedure. As far as the actual abortion went, i did the in-clinic, which i recommend between that and the at-home medication. (If you do in-clinic, I would suggest having a ride or bringing someone close with you. i brought a friend and i was very grateful to have her support. i was also way too loopy to drive home myself.) A nurse offered me the choice between the two, and also offered me some medication to help my nerves before the procedure, which I also recommend. I was very scared about the pain, and my pregnancy had also made me extremely nauseous. She gave me medication for nerves, anxiety, and pain, and they made all the difference. I was very scared the shots in my cervix would be horrid (they sound like they will be) but I honestly could hardly feel them with the medication. The doctors were very nice, and left me alone to recover after it was done. Once i was ready they took me to the recovery room, where they had some heating pads to rest with for a little bit, as well as some juice and crackers. The nurses gave me a bag with the information on aftercare and my implant, and were very sweet until i was ready to leave. Planned Parenthood made a very scary experience much better than i could have ever imagined for me, and I appreciate them all immensely.

I would like to thank nurse deb shelter so much yesterday she made my doctors visit very comfortable even though it could have been a stressful situation she made me feel light and made conversations to make me laugh and feel comfortable the whole time anybody who interact will have a comfortable time at their doctors visit! Thanks again Deb Shelter!

Everyone here was amazing and the procedure was pretty fast in comforting. All the bad reviews you see is mostly from protesters.

The practitioners are so kind and personable. Very informative, and above and beyond accommodation. Front desk, however, is a different story. The ladies are a bit robotic. Also, while signing papers at the front desk, overhearing one receptionist whisper to the other Ive seen her. Shes been here before. is an extremely unproffessional thing to hear in that particular environment. Regardless of who it was meant for, things like that can destroy an already vulnerable woman in what is supposed to be a safe place for her. Still giving 5 stars for the nurses and doctors. They are the true stars.

Worse place to even come to find out your pregnant or to get an abortion. Literally have to wait 4-5 hours for the doctor to come in, or when ever it decides to show up and hand over the pills. Excuse of being a doctor after signing the paperwork and still waiting expect us to constantly wait. So unorganized and next time tell the people how long it will literally take to wait.

I had a great experience with this clinic. Very helpful, professional staff and a clean, sanitary facility. The wait times can be lengthy but they do their best to have you seen as quickly as they can. Thank you to the staff of this clinic for the very important work that you do!

My sister called for me, the guy on the phone was totally amazing!!!!!! THANK YOU YOU? ☆☆☆☆☆ ANYWAY HE WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE ME THAT DAY. IT WAS LITERALLY AN HOUR UNTIL MY APPOINTMENT! MIND YOU I WAS CLEAR ON THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN! SO I CALLED MY SIS ASKED HER TO TELL THEM I WAS TEN MINUTES OUT. SO SHE DID, they told her that I would have to wait 2 hours ugh . Which I would not be able to pick my baby girl up on time!!!! My child is #1 no matter what. I walk in 12 minutes behind and the two women behind the counter looked at me in disgust!!! The slimmer one shook her head and said you will have to come back later!!!! Wait you know what Im rambling! !! Point of story. ... I work in customer service! !! Have for 16 + years and I just dont have it in me to treat others the way these two did. I left feeling so belittled SMH sad!!!! Where are all the real, compassionate people that are meant to be in there positions? ???!Im dying to know???? All & all Im sure , I would have waited another hour and a half!!! Please hire people with people skills! And to the females treat others the way you would expect to be treated!!!!

Worst experience, nastiest, most disrespectful staff Ive ever dealt with. Not just one of em either. Every women who works there is absolutely foul and not helpful in any sense. I suggest going elsewhere (ANYWHERE BESIDES HERE) if you want to be treated like an actual human being and be respected. They are very judgemental and have awful energy and they just arent very good at what they do. I will never go there again.

Worst ever! The staff here is unbelievably disrespectful. Drove two hours to be treated so badly. They like to judge everything that you do. One specific chick was so impatient and kept rolling her eyes. Left this place with tears! Don’t reccomend going to this nasty place!

I just had my abortion today and all I can say is big thanks for every single person who works here. Of course abortion hurts. I had to drive myself home so it was only local numbing, but the doctor explained everything during the procedure, every single steps before she was doing it. That helped a lot. So yes nurses and doctors working here, God Bless you

So I went in for an ultrasound when I was 4 weeks... Told me i would miscarriage. So ok great didnt have to choose anything. Well nothing was happening. I decided to do the wait and see process... I got the BC in the arm because I was told I will have a miscarriage... No come in for my 7 weeks ultrasound and its a healthy baby No miscarriage was going to happen... Ok so i decided what to do (which is the hardest choice ever) and asked if i can talk to the doc and nurses again to get my BC out. Well she istantly said Im going to have to pay to get it out..... No he made a mistake and said sorry thanks well finish by taking out the BC and making it right. Im not going to pay to have it removed when i shouldnt have put it in in the first place! So i leftto get control so i wouldnt take out my anger on the front desk lady well i came back to see if they will do what is right and take it out...well no i have to wait til 4ish to be seen which i get but was she nice about it... No or understanding this choice is hard and how can they make it easier.... By not being helpful!

The staff was so kind and supportive, I couldnt have asked for a better experience! They took all the time i needed with questions and worries. I was so nervous when i walked in but walking out i felt amazing and so helped! Thank you guys so much! You guys really are heros to me!

Extremely thankful for the staff here they couldn’t have been more kind and compassionate. It’s just quite unfortunate the state of Utah is so inadequate there isn’t much separation of church and state to the degree women can’t receive the level of treatment options they deserve when it comes to reproductive rights.

Completely insensitive and rude the whole time from checking in to going through the appointment. Nurse was insensitive and very short and rude front desk lady was the same.

Staff are all very nice only thing is they take forever to get to you my appointment was at 9:30am it is now 1:13pm i was told it was a couple as in 2 hour procedure its taking alot longer. If someone has an appointment they should have that appointment met.

Everyone here is so sweet, and pleasant.I went a few years ago and didnt have a good experience, but it was much much better this time!

What the hell, show up plenty early for my appointment and the office is closed?! I responded to multiple text messages to confirm.

My friend went here to get some things done and now is in the hospital after waking up in a pool of blood and passing out because they didn’t fully do there job or thoroughly check on her after the procedure I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!
