Arlene Morales, MD - Fertility Specialists Medical Group

The 2 one-star reviews I read on here I don’t believe. The way they describe Dr. Morales is the exact opposite from my 2 year experience with her and her staff. She was SO nice, had a sense of humor, supportive, and explained everything to us in detail . We did 3 cycles of IVF, and her and her staff would try to help us acquire a med we needed, if they could. She also directed us to the cheapest pharmacy for our expensive meds and her staff would tell us the cost of the next step before we did the next step… So anyone who says she is money grubbing… I don’t understand that. Maybe those one-star reviewers don’t understand how much IVF costs. my husband and I are so happy we were referred to Dr. Morales! With out her, we wouldn’t have our 1 yo baby girl!

I worked in the medical field for many years & have never had this type of encounter. The only kind person here is Dr. Shelly, but Dr. Morales is MONEY HUNGRY & lacks empathy; I believe it will come back to bite her eventually because she doesnt allow people to contact her directly nor does she make an effort to get back to a single patient without payment. I paid for a consult where I was misinformed, so I contacted the front desk to ask her a couple of questions correlated to the appointment we had, which she said I would need to set up another consult & pay for... (if there are any medical negligence lawyers, can you please look into this place?). This is the WORST clinic I have ever been to -- however because they reel you in with treatments & your time, you are stuck with the provider who constantly takes without giving. You can see by the reviews here, that they are trash.Irene, the receptionist is probably the worst of them here & purposely says things to infuriate you, an example-Me: So one of the consults got cut short due to a disconnection, can you please assist me in rescheduling & waiving that payment?Irene: No, you would have to pay again.This second time calling about something else-Me: I had my follicle count last year & your practice never got back to me, can someone please assist me, as I dont want to have to pay twice for your companys negligence?Irene: You would have to start all over because it has been a year.-- She mentioned she could transfer me to the financial department for more info, but excuse me, they have nothing to do with what I was bringing up.I got cut off during my appointment with Dr. Morales because of bad a connection & rescheduled the appointment, to which they billed over $100 to my insurance twice & asked me to pay the deposit twice.Not only that, but they were going through some changes so they forgot to inform me of my results, & I went to a different fertility clinic that was so much better but informed me it would be best to stick with one since they already performed so many procedures, so I reluctantly came back here & they told me since it has been almost a year I would need to restart ALL the procedures again (& pay the same original amount) from their lack of structure. I honestly may gather all the ladies here to get their experience & potentially see what we can do because this place should not be allowed to treat customers this way.On top of that, I was speaking with Keila who sent me all the information & was emailing back & forth with her, to which she stopped responding abruptly without even an automated email saying she would be away. I contacted the fertility clinic after a month of no response & this was what IRENE told me:You should just directly email our public email because when employees are not in the office you wont get a response-- I dont think thats the proper way to respond to a customer, but also, they should have an automated email set up so I know to reach out to their public email since Keila WAS originally responding to me & handling my case.

I would not recommend this place or Dr Morales. She is a very cold person and to me, come across as a money maker. She doesnt care about her patients. She has no interest in possible underlying issues that might be the root cause to infertility. She will run all the tests she can - whether they matter or not. The clinic is also extremely disorganized, they would reach out for my credit card weekly, and every call I had with Dr Morales we repeatedly talked about the same thing over and over again - followed by 1 more test. Somehow, that was always the solution. Yet, when I had to cancel a call to review my MRI I never heard anything back from Dr Morales or her staff. I had at that point, taken all the tests I could possible take. I guess it makes sense for them to not connect again... Not only did I have a bad experience, many people that I came in touch with during my time as a patient would express their dislike of this place as well. Very sad as infertility is hard as it is.

My husband and I went to Dr. Morales 1 year ago for preconception screening and she was very thorough and has a very welcoming and mama bear vibe. I went back to her this year after a loss and a misdiagnosis that was one of the most stressful times in my life. The amount of support, validation and empathy she provided was unparalleled to other experiences I have had. Furthermore, although I did participate in genetic screenings and ultrasounds, there were additional procedures that she did not recommend to us at the time. Encouraging us to give it more time naturally first; proving she genuinely cares about you, your finances and your situation by not over prescribing or over testing. Also, her staff are very kind and it was a welcoming experience.

Dr. Morales is a fertility genius. After going to dr. Park at sdfc and having three failed transfers I switched to Dr. Morales for a second opinion. With a new and different protocol and new testing she got me pregnant finally after years of trying and miscarriages. She is the most hardworking and caring RE. Everyone at Their office is awesome and flexible. We love them all there. We are now trying for baby number two and I have so much trust in them. They are the best in SAn Diego hands down. I would highly recommend not going anywhere else. I have 4 friends who did not have good luck at SDFC and switched over eventually or gave up.

Horrible doctor. I and many other people I know and/or have run into have nothing but negative things to say about her. Mean, nasty, disorganized, money grubbing. My experience was nothing short of terrible in every way. Seeing a new doctor in town who is a dream in every way compared to this mess. Clinic and staff at the clinic are terrible too, high turnover rate due to being such a horrible, disorganized, low moral place to work mainly because of Dr. Morales. Know two former employees who had nothing but bad experiences and are so much happier at other places now. Check around town, there are many more competent/nice/organized fertility doctors/clinics than this.

My husband and I came to Arlene in October of 2016. She took my husband and I very seriously, even though we are young, and she quickly ordered tests for us, found out what our fertility problems were and had a plan to help us conceive.Multiple times I was called by the financial team there to discuss cheaper options for my tests, etc, which I was not expecting.I was started on medication by the end of November and we are now expecting a sweet baby boy this October!We both felt so comfortable and taken care by Arlene and the fertility team there, and are SO thankful to have found them!

Dr. Morales and the entire team at FSMG were absolutely wonderful throughout the entire testing and treatment process. I felt that everyone, from the RNs to the financial team, was incredibly helpful and communicative, and that Dr. Morales really took the time to treat me as an individual. Highly recommend!

All I can say is Dr Morales and her team are the best! I’ve been to both location, San Diego and Carlsbad and everyone is so wonderful. Dr Morales explained everything in detailed to me and made me feel very comfortable. She has a very good sense of humor as well. I just had the transfer and I feel very good about it. Thank you everyone !!♥️♥️

Hard-working, Friendly, inspiring, courageous, heroic, independent, helpful, tired, knowledgeable, smart, outgoing..Very nice and comfortable Doctor and nursesI was always happy with .Everyone in the office was really niceThanks for being such a nice and good doctor and nurses. Trying to have a baby?!?!?! There DR. Morales is there for you .

Very friendly staff. Dr. Shelly and her team we’re always on time and made everything go seamlessly. Pregnant at first IVF. Couldn’t ask for more.

If confidentiality or HIPAA are important factors ...then this doctor is not for you!
