Lakeside Obstetrics Gynecology &Fertility

My wife and I established care with Lakeside Obstetrics during her pregnancy, we were cash pay patients that had paid every bill prior to being seen. I work as a travel nurse and was between contracts we at the time and were cash pay until I got insurance through the next job I started. We are fortunate enough to not live paycheck to paycheck and had plenty in savings to be cash pay before our new insurance..The office was more concerned about prepaying than any other place Id ever been. Before the office door even closed they were asking for pre payment. Like before a proper hello they would tell us “you need to pay before youre seen” That should have been a bit of a red flag but sure, I get it, Cash pay patients are unusual, no biggie, a little uncaring to blatantly show your priority like that but fine. We paid ahead every single time, Ill attach my entire paid balance to this review.After our first ultrasound I had some concerns about the images as the office had sent us images of our baby with their business logo plastered on the images. Almost like a coca-cola advertisement. Again, 17 years of being a nurse Ive never seen advertisements on xrays, CT scans or ultrasounds. I brought this up to the office and at first the staff behind the desk called me a liar. They told me its just a small thing in the corner, and that everyone does it. Even when I showed them the images attached here they told me it was “normal”. As I said I am a Nurse but not an OB nurse so maybe this is just something I hadnt seen before Though I later called around and found out it is not the norm, not even close. In fact the OB nurses Ive shown it too since have all been absolutely stunned. You can see those images as part of this review and you can see my camera roll shows that every image they sent had the same advertisement on our babies images.Around my wifes 19 week mark the office called me and told me I needed to pay for the entire birthing fee upfront. It was around 5k. I told them that seems a little early, as it wasnt even half way through the pregnancy. Still almost 5 months before birth who knows what could happen in that time. I said Id have to think about it but would get back to them. Because I wanted to see if that was normal I called around because again, Im not an OB nurse but this seemed a little strange. I spoke to 4 other places and all of them were blown away by how far from birth they were asking for upfront payment. The 4 places I spoke with do charge ahead of the birth for cash pay individuals but its usually 1 month before and only half of it up front. This should have been another red flag for us.I didnt even have a chance to get back to them about it because less than a few days after that they canceled all of our time sensitive appointments without telling us and dropped us as patients. The only reason we found out is because we were looking for blood test results.My wifes 20 week detailed scan was scheduled along with another follow up a few days after the scan. We had previously done a genetic screening blood draw done and were looking for the results on their online portal when we noticed our appointments no longer showed up in our online medical record. We also noticed that the previous messages we sent were gone as well.We sent a message to the provider asking what happened and were abruptly told Your prenatal care at our offices has ended. Please find another provider for the remainder of your pregnancy,The provider canceled our time sensitive appointment 4 days prior with zero actual notice. We got a letter a few days later that said “effective immediately. There was no chance of us being able to find a new doctor, establish care and schedule the scan in less than 4 days.Ive been a nurse for 17 years and seen a lot sketchy things but this just floored me. It was obviously best for us to find a new provider anyway but its completely unethical for a provider to cancel time sensitive screenings without notice.

Dr. Monica Hannon has a very professional and yet warm, and personalized practice. She listens carefully, asks important questions, and is always willing to provide space and time for your thoughts and concerns as a patient. I never feel rushed or talked down to. After a visit I find myself praising her services to the people I know .

I found Dr. Monica Hannon 3 years ago when my old doctor moved away. She is extremely professional, thorough, and very patient. She always gives me as much time as I need to discuss any concerns, and replies promptly to emails. Highly recommended!

Dr Monica Hannon leaves an impressive mark when she attended to me during my 1st visit and today, during my 2nd visit, she was caring, thorough in her assessment of my babys health and my current health situation. She explained to me in detail how to care for myself in this final 3rd trimester as my glucose reading warranted my attention. I had such focused attention from her and she helped me through and connecting me with the specialists too. A splendid experience knowing that you are in the care of the right gynecologist.

Doctor Ziyad Hannon has been my doctor for over 30 years. He is very professional and honest. His caring advice helped me reshape my life and Im now over 30 pounds lighter and feeling great.

Dr. Monica Hannon made me feel right at home. She didn’t rush through my visit. We sat in her office prior to any examination where we talked about any concerns I had. She asked questions about my health history in order to understand the reason of my visit more... so glad my general doctor referred me to her! The building has its own parking lot which was nice even though there’s plenty of parking on the street.. her receptionist was also very helpful. Their registration process was easy and quick!

Dr. Monica Hannon is great -- she is smart, thoughtful and patient! She just sits and talks to you about how you are doing and feeling. And then, she helps to identify good action steps to move you forward to better health.

After a mis-diagnosis and a year spent with considerable discomfort, I spoke with another physician who referred me to Dr. Ziyad Hannon. Thethought of surgery terrified me and Dr. Hannon was respectful of my feelings, but his calm and gentle manner convinced me after an examination that surgery was my only option. The procedure went very smoothly with no after effects or discomfort. I feel like a new person, thanks to Dr. Hannon and his expertise. He is the very best - I cant imagine seeing anyone else!

Dr. Hannon is a wonderful OBGYN doctor. Super attentive & detailed oriented. Explains everything really well to ensure patients are comfortable and are following along. Highly recommend - I have only had great experiences with her as my doctor.

When I moved to SF 30 years ago, I was 5 months pregnant. By chance, I chose Dr. Hannon as my obstetrician. Dr. H. is a very caring and excellent clinician. I am so confident in his abilities that he is also my daughters physician. I made a great choice 30 years ago!!Love the new office!

Dr. Hannon is a professional, caring doctor who has taken care of me for my OB related medical concerns, along with being my primary doctor for almost 10 years when I did not have a primary.I highly recommend Dr. Z. There are two doctors that I have seen out of this clinic, one is female and one is male. The care I received with the female doctor was superb, I felt taken care of and heard. She did not dismiss my symptoms. However, the male gynecologist was completely dismissive of my symptoms after I had used Monistat previously and had recurring symptoms of a yeast Infection for OVER A MONTH. No tests, no look under the microscope. I was simply told to buy myself a 3 day pack of monistat. Well I did, and when I did my body had an allergic reaction and swelled up so much I couldnt walk. I had to go to the ER. When I later went in to get nexplananon implanted (also he never went over the Symptoms I had to prompt him) he recommended staying on the pill for the rest of the pack. I followed his advice and I was so nauseous for a day I couldnt walk. I had to call in sick for work. Not only did this man brush away my legitimate and frustrating symptoms as if they were nothing to be concerned about, his medical malpractice led me to be inhabilitaed TWICE. I have never seen such unprofessionalism surrounding female reproductive care in my life. Do not go here, take your business elsewhere and go to Planned Parenthood where they take their patients birth control seriously.

Finding a good gyno is such a long and hard process. I finally thought I found one here but then moved and couldn’t come back for a few years. I came back and wanted to make an appointment but apparently my account is locked for a “missed appointment” two years ago. That’s just so unfair.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Monica Hannon. A wonderful Doctor who really cares and takes the time to explain and listen. A rare gem.
