Evoke Acupuncture

I was recommended to Evoke + Laurel by a couple of my good friends. I finally got around to booking in January 2024 and have been coming regularly ever since. I was about 8 months pregnant when I started getting treated by Laurel and I am so grateful she is a part of my health and healing. Laurel is so thorough and thoughtful during consultations and taking notes at every single appointment to give the best care at the time of my appointment. Through all seasons of my life she has been a huge part of my health and healing and I am so happy to recommend her to anyone else!

I started going to Evoke and working with Laurel before trying to get pregnant after 2 miscarriages. Laurel was amazingly knowledgeable and compassionate through this journey, she recommended an OB/GYN practice that would do more testing, then helped me interpret that testing, made diet/lifestyle recommendations, and, of course, did acupuncture. This was my first experience with acupuncture and I found it to be painless and enjoyable. I did acupuncture through my first trimester and again about a month before delivery. It was a healthy pregnancy and (relatively) easy delivery which I think acupuncture helped significantly with. Long story short- I cant recommend Evoke or Laurel enough if you have any reason to try acupuncture, it truly is a great compliment for addressing health concerns.

Evoke Acupuncture is absolutely the best! I have been seeing Alyssa for about 7 months and she is excellent. I have seen Shuqing for two visits so far and have already had a wonderful experience. The office is so calm and comfortable. It smells incredible and the front desk staff are very kind. Shuqing is amazing. She is so gentle and also very calming. I have felt listened to and cared for during the visits and she is so sweet about remembering little details I shared with her in past appointments. I could not be happier coming to Evoke!

Ive been seeing Alyssa every other week for about a year now after a co worker referred me to her and I can say she has truly changed my life. She helped me heal from a c-section as well as prepare my uterus for a successful VBAC! I dont think I wouldve been able to do it without her. Shes also been healing my thyroid and immune system. I referred my mom who sees her frequently as well for immune health and pain management and we both notice a huge difference everytime. I always feel so relaxed after a session and any pains/symptoms I have go away. Alyssa is an incredible acupuncturist and human and is so knowledgeable - she always teaches me something new. Laurel is wonderful. I started acupuncture at the same time as my last IVF treatment. I can say that the treatment helped me a lot physically and emotionally. I started trying to conceive over two years ago. So many people told me to try acupuncture, but I held off. Then when I started IVF, friends that had IVF success swore by acupuncture and I still held off. Every week, I looked forward to seeing her — she has a calming and caring energy that just makes you feel so at peace. And she really listened to how I was feeling and what symptoms I had and would tailor the acupuncture session to help with those problem areas. Came in with a knot in my calf that had been bothering me for 2 months. I tried yoga, stretching, chiro, and foam rolling.... nothing seemed to help. Finally, I came across Evoke. From the moment I walked in I knew I was at the right place. Very clean facility with a zen-like feel.Laurel took her time and asked the right questions. Dr. Jing is one of the nicest and most genuine persons I have ever met. From your first visit with her she asks important questions while making you feel very welcome. She makes sure youre comfortable with the procedure and explains everything clearly beforehand. Ive been seeing Neda for the past 2 months and she has been so wonderful, kind and supportive in my fertility journey. It has been a gift to have her support as my journey has been rough.She has been extremely thorough in keeping track of all my health history. Its been complicated yet she remembers everything! She will research any questions we have, for instance the effects of antibiotics and supplements on my liver. Shes sent me holistic recommendations for managing my endometriosis. Shes also shared with me a case study she wrote that would help my partner. She can also recommend Chinese herbs if it works for your treatment plan.She starts most of my sessions with affirmations that align with my goals and calm my mind. I can then truly feel the effects of the acupuncture flowing through my body.In the 20 sessions of acupuncture, my FSH has decreased by 30% which is great!Overall, I feel like shes on my side.... hoping for what I hope for and that means the world to me.Aside from that, the website for booking is very easy to use. I have continued to regularly visit Evoke Acupuncture, Olivia Baker in particular, since then. Before going to see Alyssa at Evoke I had been dealing with stomach issues (extreme bloat, food sensitivities, etc.) for over 2 years. I saw every kind of doctor there is, tried cutting out so many foods, and had pretty much given up on the idea that I would ever feel better. Enter Alyssa, she finally was able to make me feel the best Ive felt in YEARS!From the beginning she made me feel like she truly cared about my endless list of issues and wanted to get to the root cause of it. She not only worked with me with weekly acupuncture sessions - she also had me take stool tests to help me find out what was actually going on in my stomach and she helped prescribe me natural supplements to support all my issues. In about 6 months, I finally felt free of all bloat and pain I had been experiencing every single day for 2+ years.And to top it off, she also helped to get rid of hamstring pain from an injury that happened more than 4 years ago in less than 3 months of sessions.Whatever issue we targeted, Alyssa cured it! I was recently diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency and my doctor recommended I try fertility acupuncture to help with follicle growth before an egg retrieval. I have been going to Evoke Acupuncture for the past 5-6 months to see Shuqing Jing and the results and the service I have had are amazing! Shuqing is so kind, compassionate, and caring. She provides such a safe supportive space where you can feel comfortable. The entire office is this way, everyone is welcoming and supporting your journey. Aside from how incredible everyone is, the results I have noticed are astounding. I had a very low AMH and follicle count and one of my ovaries was not producing any follicles. Though, I have also been taking supplements, this combined with the weekly acupuncture, has helped my right ovary start producing follicles again. In fact, 11 of them!! I am now a part of the small percentage of people with POI with a period where my ovaries are functioning closer to normal again. Evoke acupuncture was the best decision I ever made in my fertility journey.

Evoke Acupuncture has worked wonders for me! I came in with a shoulder problem, where my shoulder would pop out of its socket when I would lift up my arm; after months of treatment I am now able surf, box, and rock climb all with practically non-existent pain! Furthermore, I got a stomach problem known as SIBO, and through the help of Evoke Acupuncture, I am now on track to have a healthy stomach in a couple of weeks! Very grateful for all the work my acupuncturist Alyssa Sinyard has done for me. She is extremely knowledgable, caring, and calming! One time I was having an especially rough day, and she let me rest for an extra 30 minutes for free without me asking for it or anything! I cant express how grateful I am to have had acupuncture treatment from Dr. Jing Chen. My husband and I had been dealing with infertility issues for over a year and had even tried another acupuncture office with no luck, until I started working with Dr. Jing. I got pregnant approx 1 month of treatments with her and she has continued to provide treatments throughout my pregnancy. I appreciate her calm and reassuring attitude, especially when i was feeling anxious. She has extensive experience in the field which made me feel confident in her advice. I would definitely recommend visiting Alyssa at Evoke. I came in with IC and sciatica symptoms. She was able to address my IC symptoms right away and through consecutive visits was able to manage my sciatica. She is super personable and I can tell that she truly cares about my health.

I started coming to Evoke from my IVF providers recommendation. They mentioned they work well with the Evoke team and that they dont push herbs to patients.I have been to other acupuncturists and have tried the bitter herbs prescribed. It scares me because Im not sure how it interacts with my medication since Im on blood thinners and blood pressure medication. I had a very complicated history of pregnancy and multiple pregnancy lost for the past 3-4 years. Im on my 2nd trimester now and started coming to Evoke under Shujings care before our IVF transfer. So grateful to have a very caring and supportive Acupuncturist. Shes very thorough, checking in to all my concerns,she listens and gives me best practice advices to manage my 1st trimester symptoms and up to my current state.I definitely feel a difference with my body when I go in for treatment/ session vs when I miss a week worth of visit. I feel more relax, rested and with improved symptoms.I never thought of acupuncture to help support my over all health. Ive been seeing Olivia at Evoke for close to 1 year, I think. My experience with Evoke has been very good so far. The front desk receptionist, Melissa, has always been helpful and honest. Making appointments has been fairly easy and they accommodate my busy schedule well. Olivia has been helpful in reducing some of my symptoms, especially with a shoulder issue shes been working on. Her cupping technique helps relieve muscle tension and allows my shoulder to free up. I do fairly intense workouts and this has allowed me to continue my training. I enjoy going there to relax and get away from my daily stresses. Thanks!

I was really struggling with neck and shoulder pains which were also tied into dull headaches that I was constantly suffering from. Laurel is a thoughtful and caring provider. Between the cupping and the acupuncture, I have seen significant improvements. Laurel has been so great in checking in and always providing support.

After my first acupuncturist retired, I began searching for a new clinic that met the same standard of care I was previously receiving. Little did I know how much Id come to appreciate not only Evoke, but also my new found acupuncturist, Laurel. She is a true professional, and goes above and beyond for her clients. Each and every time I see her, she takes the time to walk through key progress milestones or setbacks, and adapts her treatment approach accordingly. She has an intuitive sense of how to put her clients at ease so they walk out feeling better than when they arrived for treatment. I have found the clinic to be clean and well maintained. The other practitioners and front office staff are also just as professional, personable and eager to make your client experience a quality one.

Laurel is phenomenal -- she really cares and wants to work with you to find a treatment plan that works for you and your health. Shes knowledgeable and open to new ideas and approaches. Ive gotten acupuncture and cupping done by her, and both are now an essential part of managing my health and stress. Not to mention, the clinic is peaceful and clean, and a pleasure to be in.

Excellent experience with Olivia! I originally went to see her to treat my menstrual cycle as well as road rage. I no longer have migraines or a heavy flow and I no longer have road rage. She is still working on my shoulder, arm, hand but I can feel it actively healing. I really look forward to my appointments with Olivia as she is a very caring, down to earth and knowledgeable acupuncturist.

Alyssa at Evoke is great! Ive been coming to her since the beginning of the year to help me and it has been nothing but great results.Evoke is in my insurance network and its very easy working with Evoke. They have you set up your information online with your payment information so whenever you come in for a visit they charge you automatically and send you e-mail receipts. The front receptionists are always welcoming and is able to answer any of your questions you may have.Scheduling/Re-Scheduling is fairly easy as you can book with the front desk ladies or through email. Ive been able to book through Alyssa via email or in person and its always been a breeze.Anytime I have questions and email Alyssa, she is super responsive and quick too!

I’ve been seeing Jing for a few weeks now and have been feeling great and more balanced, less fatigued - overall my body & mind feel supported where I need it.I was excited to find out she does pediatric acupuncture as well so brought my 2 kids in today. Shuqing is a very warm and patient acupuncturist. She is caring, intuitive, and genuinely interested in helping me out with a variety of issues. My husband and I love her warmth and knowledgeable approach in our individual treatments. Her work has improved our health tremendously, and we’ve given her really tough issues to treat. I have been seeing Olivia Baker at Evoke Acupuncture since the fall of 2018. I do acupuncture as an adjunct treatment for my fertility while undergoing IVF. Since seeing Olivia and doing IVF I have gotten pregnant and given birth to a healthy baby. Aside from the fertility benefits, I always find sessions with Olivia to be very relaxing and enjoyable. This is my preferred self-care activity where I can come to relax and get treatments to complement my IVF journey.Olivia is incredibly patient and truly cares about her patients. She is very detailed and knowledgeable. Olivia has even shared various resources with me that ended up saving me money on supplements and lab tests. The acupuncture rooms are always clean and peaceful. I can also book appts online, which is really convenient. I highly recommend Evoke!

This review is LONG overdue. I started seeing Neda a little over 3 years ago as I was nearing the end of my first pregnancy. Fast forward to today (I am 5 months post-partum with my second) and its safe to say she has been my saving grace through this season of life. I dealt with a lot of anxiety going into my second pregnancy and Nedas sessions were always the highlight of my week. Every visit was tailored to what I was dealing with and she is always taking notes to make sure she has a full picture. Not only that, she uses a variety of modalities depending on what youre coming in with (cupping, gua sha, manual therapy). I have also seen Olivia who is so kind and also a very caring practitioner - I dont think you can go wrong with anyone here! Thank you Neda and the Evoke team for taking care of me!

Evoke Acupuncture wowed me! I had a laundry list of things going on with me and each concern was addressed professionally and efficiently. To start, Chrissy at the front admin was so pleasant on the phone. Communication via email and phone was very good. I felt terrible I didn’t have my paperwork done ahead of time, they have a very easy system to do your intake forms ahead of time. I liked the vibe in the office and the treatment room, clean, nice plants all around, comfortable and relaxing. My consultation going over the intake form and filling Alyssa in on my needs; she was a great listener and had input/good info and tools tohelp support me. Cupping and gwasha(spelling?) was used for my neck/back/shoulder and acupuncture was used all over. She sent mehome with amoxobustion to use for my knee which is inflamed from running with excess weight post baby. I am optimistic that these treatments will help me! Above all, I know I willbe coming back and that I am in good hands. Thank you, Alyssa and Chrissy :)

Im so happy I found Neda/Evoke Acupuncture! Neda exudes care and authenticity in a way that instantly made me feel comfortable. At our first session, I appreciated how thorough she was in getting a detailed background on what brought me in. She then customized her treatment, and I left knowing I was in the right place! I started seeing Jing because the acupuncturist I used to goto no longer took my insurance. I was very disappointed because the acupuncturist I used to go to was amazing and I really liked her. Well, I know I am lucky in terms of meeting amazing people in my life and it turned out that I was lucky in meeting another amazing acupuncturist, Jing at Evoke.I saw Jing through my third IVF egg retrieval and my first embryo transfer (which resulted in my first baby!). She always created relaxing atmosphere and gave me through explanations of what each acupuncture points were about (I was curious so asked about it sometimes) and what she was doing for me. She didn’t only support me through acupuncture but also provided me with lots of emotional support that I truly looked forward to seeing her weekly not only for acupuncture but simply to meet her. She also shared lots of her knowledge with me through my IVF procedures as well as my pregnancy. In fact, she gave me way more educational information and support than my OBGYN did when I was pregnant. I was so lost and confused with my pregnancy symptoms as a first time mom and I don’t know how I would’ve gone through this period without her support.I had so many people’s support to have this baby (the cutest and most adorable human being I’ve seen btw) and Jing’s support was a big one. I am so thankful and grateful for all the support she gave me through this life changing process!! :)

Ive always been curious about acupuncture, but more nervous than curious! Upon walking into Evoke Acupuncture my nerves started to fade and I was welcomed with a smile and great sense of relaxation, like a little spa sanctuary tucked in the middle of professional offices. The music was soft and tranquil and I began to actually feel excited for my first treatment, instead of worried!Before we even began my session Angie went over my medical history, asked about my lifestyle and any pass injuries. She was incredibly genuine and truly cared about my concerns. Quickly, I felt like I was talking to a friend! As soon as I shared that I carry a lot of stress in my shoulders, neck and upper back, Angie recommended cupping as well.The only time Ive heard of cupping was from Michael Phelps!!!! I was more nervous about cupping and getting those circle welts on my back.After Angie explained the process and shared that she can quickly and easily control the suction I was confident that I was in good hands.I couldnt believe the sensation I felt from cupping, the therapeutic feelings from acupuncture and the guided meditation hit a spiritual awareness that I was not expecting at all. Instant relief and relaxation.Overall I rate my experience with Angie + Evoke Acupuncture with 5 STARS!!! I cant wait to go back!

I am very pleased with my experience with Evoke Acupuncture, especially with ShuJing. Her service is stellar. She empathizes with her patients and tries to understand where the frustrations come from by finding the root cause. Dr. Smith’s genuine caring and healing presence made every visit a positive experience. She made sure I was comfortable and always took time to assess how I was feeling. The massage and healing balm after each acupuncture treatment felt wonderful. My chronic hip pain is now under control thanks to her excellent treatment, invaluable referrals, and vast knowledge of herbs and supplements. I consider her a blessing in my life.

I see both Neda and Angie...I actually followed Angie here from her previous practice because of her amazingness. :)Both Neda and Angie have an incredibly warm demeanor and are so knowledgeable about the body. Truly, everyone at Evoke helps to create a space that feels welcoming and healing.Im currently doing a series of facial acupuncture with Neda and I could not be more thrilled by the results! My skin is glowing and makeup has become optional (not the typical story of someone in her late 30s)!Ive seen Angie through 2 pregnancies, multiple injuries and various ailments (insomnia, hormone changes, chronic headaches, etc). I went to Evoke based on the recommendation of one of my friends. I was terrified to try acupuncture as I have a fear of needles, but Neda instantly put my mind at ease. There is no pain associated with the process and she only does what you can handle - at this point Ive done the needles and electric stimulation, and shes used moxa and a roller on me. Theres plenty more that she can do (e.g., cupping), but this is all that Ive needed so far. I have seen her nearly 30 times now and I am so glad. The process is painless and leaves me feeling relaxed and calm, and Neda is just the kindest, most supportive person. I feel like I now have an acupuncturist, friend, and counselor all in one. Thank you, Neda, for all that youve done for me!

I love Angie! I worked with her for 5+ years when she was at Lokahi, and when she moved to Evoke, I followed her as a client. I have noticed many health improvements in allergies, migraines, and hormone imbalance since visiting her. She is calm and caring, looks at the whole me, not just the symptoms, and helps me focus on my health goals. She has also offered helpful advice on things to help manage my whole health, including managing stress, setting intention, and increasing my focus and mental clarity. I have seen other providers on occasion, but Angie is the one for me!

BEWARE. IF YOU HAVE BLUE SHIELD OF CALIFORNIA, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I had the WORST experience trying to use my insurance. I was told that Evoke was in-network with my insurance after they verified and it wasn’t until I had my first appointment that they tell me I have to submit the claim myself for reimbursement (that should have been the first flag). I tried submitting to Blue Shield and was told that I need to go through ASH (American Specialty Health) because all acupuncture services through Blue Shield run through this insurance provider. ASH says that Evoke should submit directly, Evoke says I should submit directly, I finally MAIL (because they don’t except claims online) and I’ve only been given one check from ASH and it’s only 7% of what I paid for with Evoke even though they said they were in-network. Do not use this place if you are trying to use insurance with Blue Shield. They lied about their coverage with this insurance carrier.Response after comment from owner:I disagree. Evoke should have been honest PRIOR to my fist appointment that I needed to submit my own bill for reimbursement. You probably knew that I would only get 7% reimbursement and you not sharing that and charging me what you did knowing that the insurance would cover so little is awful business practice and VERY SHADY. If you look at the email are referencing (no idea why you’re sharing the specific reference number as I feel like that is a violation) you can see I had to specifically ask the receptionist to help after the back and forth. I’m sure people that pay cash they will have no issues here but I’m warning people that use insurance because your company has no idea how to handle them properly and if I didn’t listen to your company about being in network then I could have gone somewhere else that was more cost effective for cash patients. I’m a single woman that needed help on my fertility journey and you added more stress and loss of money so i want to warn people of businesses like yours.

Had my first ever acupuncture treatment, and all I can say is WOW. I was made to feel completely comfortable, and the treatment itself was wonderful, gentle and effective. Definitely returning for follow ups!

I have an amazing experience with Evoke. I felt so lost after leaving my medical fertility clinic, and finding out I had a couple issues. I had this over whelming feeling that things were out of my control and I had no options, until I was referred to Evoke, and met them. They have helped me create an actionable plan for achieving my goals. Knowing that I have a care team that is like family, is such a relief. The atmosphere, attitudes, and acupuncture leaves me feeling so amazing after every visit.

It is about a year that I use Evoke services po and I am really happy with outcome. First I went there for frozen shoulder. My shoulder is totally back to normal and there is no pain anymore. This was my first experience getting acupuncture. I am currently pregnant (High risk pregnancy). So I was a bit nervous coming in but my experience was amazing. The staff is friendly and I instantly felt relief with my hyperemisis and pregnancy pains. This is definitely something I will continue to do weekly!

Evoke acupuncture is a great place to go for acupuncture! I have been seeing Olivia and Angie there to help with issues I have had during my pregnancy such as nausea, getting back to sleep after I wake up to use the bathroom at night, and foot pain (pinched nerve). The weekly treatments I have received have been very helpful.They have several practitioners there who are very knowledgeable about and experienced with working with women who are pregnant.I highly recommend this place for acupuncture treatments.

Nice facility and I highly recommend Angie. I am sure the other practitioners are just as good. I originally started going to Angie a few years back for pre and post shoulder surgery and know the treatment made a difference in my recovery.Most recently I started seeing Angie at Evoke post knee surgery and the treatments are helping my recovery. I think continuing with treatments will just be a part of my preventative care moving forward. I was also having some sinus issues and the acupuncture has seemed to help this too.I highly recommend Cupping, Acupuncture and Moxibustion.

I’ve gone to Shuqing for a couple of times. She is very accommodating, compassionate and knowledgeable. She did cupping and acupuncture on the spots I felt a lot of pain and stiffness. My chronic pain was relieved significantly. I’m very pleased with the results.

I have been seeing Angie for years whenever I have a cold, allergies or any other issue. Last year she helped me get over a muscular spasm. After multiple chiropractic sessions without much improvement she was able to get me back to normal in just 2 sessions of cupping and acupuncture. Recently I went back with some flu like symptoms and lower back pain and she got me back to normal in just 2 sessions. She also has recommended books and other resources which have always been exactly what I needed at the time. She is awesome!

Ive had two sessions with Angie ...and they made a significant difference in how I felt. Cupping is new to me but I gave it a try and was very impressed. Ill be doing THAT again. Acupuncture in the hands of a true professional like Angie can be effective for muscle issues and pinched nerves. In the past two years I’ve had the opportunity to be under the care of Angie, Olivia and Laurel. Each of them has a lot to offer in helping me combat insomnia, anger, depression and anxiety. I came to Evoke not certain if acupuncture would work out for me. I have cervical radiculopathy and had severe pain in my neck, shoulder, and right arm. Lets just say I was miserable could not work and life was not good. The pain was so bad I could not sleep much less sit still. From the moment I met Angie I knew I was in good hands. Its been almost a year and I have been pain free since. Its like the needles and cupping speak to my nerves and silence them. Angie is truly amazing and an expert in her craft.
