I picked planned parenthood even after getting a good job and not needing to use my medi-cal anymore, I did this in order to support organizations like planned parenthood. I also let all my friends know how great I was feeling about it , but today 9/13/24, I came to this facility for a follow up on medication and the woman at the front desk was extremely rude to me when I asked what injections I will need to have in order to be near my grandbaby that is due soon. Her name is Ariel and I am at Planned Parenthood Miramonte in San Mateo. I am 62 years old and I need to know this information , she said “I don’t THINK we provide those services, she did not get up to check for me and also did not offer to write it down on my chart so I could discuss further with the provider I would be seeing. They also did not take me in for over 30 minutes and when I asked why I was told “ you can leave if you want to”. I was shocked, as I work in the medical field and would never treat someone this way, she also never smiled or acted friendly in any way. It was a terrible experience and I will be taking my healthcare elsewhere , do not go here if you can help it .
Went to planned parenthood to get my IUD removed. It had migrated and wasn’t an easy one to pull out, and I was scared it was embedded. But the doctors at Planned Parenthood made it happen!Dr. Brianna Dee was able to remove it with help from Dr. Alyssa Sahoo. They’re incredible and all the staff were really nice and friendly.I’m so thankful Planned Parenthood is so fast and accessible. I called in and they were able to see me the next day. If I waited to see my own gynocologist at UCSF, I’d have to wait several months - literally they told me I’d need to wait another 5 months for an appointment. The wait times are insane. Don’t wait to get a procedure done, just schedule it with planned parenthood.
When I visited the facility at the age of 16 to explore birth control options, I was impressed by the range of services offered and the professionalism of your staff. However, I feel compelled to share my concerns about the lack of transparency regarding the IUD insertion procedure. After carefully considering all the birth control options available, I made the decision to proceed with an IUD due to its longevity and practicality. However, my experience with the insertion process was far from what I had anticipated…During my consultation, I was assured that the procedure would be MINIMALLY uncomfortable, with little to no pain involved. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The procedure turned out to be much more painful and intense than I had been led to believe. I felt unprepared for the level of discomfort and the invasive nature of the procedure.Feeling misled and uninformed about the potential pain and intensity of the procedure left me feeling gaslighted and violated. As a young patient seeking reproductive healthcare, it WADcrucial to me that I am provided with accurate information and adequate preparation for any medical procedures. While I appreciate the services provided by Planned Parenthood and the commitment to reproductive health, I hope that steps can be taken to ensure that patients are fully informed and prepared for procedures like IUD insertion in the future. And patients are given some kind of pain medicine BEFORE the procedure.
I am forever grateful for Planned Parenthood Mar Monte for treating me compassionately. It took me around 2-3 hours which are way shorter than I was expecting. My miscarriage was a terrible time for me and my partner and I just wanted to help my body heal from the trauma and Planned Parenthood Mar Monte helped me get the help I needed in just a day. I was able to get the suction surgery for removal of my leftover pregnancy tissue. I can’t imagine having to wait any longer as the referral clinic wasn’t even responding to me and I also was trying to recover from the pain of losing my baby. I am forever grateful that PP made it easier for me. Special thanks to Ken, Jessica the nurse assistant (I believe), the nurse that did my IV for being so understanding since I have needle phobia but I forgot her name, the clinician that helped calmed my ease and helped the procedure be as comfortable as possible also answering every questions I have. I was given some snacks afterwards while the nurse looked after me for a bit after the surgery. The only feedback I could provide was just me wishing my husband to be with me for my ultrasound as we were briefed that he would be able to. However I am glad that everyone is so understanding of us and this makes it easier in such a trial times for me. I hope this resource helps other in the same boat as me. Thank you so much everyone at PP mar monte for everything you do. The kindness you showed me means so much :)
I am really thankful for all the care and medical information that I got here in my visit. Great staff, they spoke to me in Spanish and made me feel super comfortable, my nurse (I can’t remember her name) she was really nice, she explained everything to me and guided me through my Pap test and other tests, so patient and charismatic. The doctor, she just went straight to the point and did her job, but the nurse was my hero for sure. Thanks for existing PP.
My experience was great. The nurse’s/doctors were super nice made me feel very comfortable especially Leslie and the other 2 doctors that attended me. The wait was not bad at all I got attended super fast. Over all great experience will come again.
I had a very good experience at the planned parenthood. Very good nurses!
An all-around pleasant experience :) I was on vacation and had to get something done urgently. The staff was very communicative over the phone. I was on hold for maybe a cumulative 40 seconds while they found out cost estimates and how much insurance would cover. The PP website did not list Aetna as an insurance option, but my Aetna insurance ended up covering the entire visit! PP gave me the option to wait to go through with the appointment/patient intake process until they found out the exact out-of-pocket cost for me. I cant name a time that a health provider ever did that. And of course, they were super kind, non-judgmental, and were able to see me within a day. My NP was very kind and narrated everything she did. The center itself is tucked away on a quieter side street, and has its own parking lot and plenty of space between the sidewalk and the front doors. There were no protestors when I visited (~2pm on a Friday).
Never seen a worse place. They tried to take my bloodwork 3 times and werent able to do it. With 3 different people. So had to refer me somewhere else. What kind of place doesnt know how to take bloodwork? After having hurt me and my complaint they were also rude and unapologetic.
So a practitioner may arrive ten minutes late but a patient who gave a notice of late arrival of ten minutes is out of the question. Will be avoiding this clinic at all cost
Dr. Sheinbein and the staff at this location have been consistently outstanding.I cannot say enough positive, complimentary words. From start to finish, every person i have encountered at this facility has been truly kind and professional.I am so grateful for exemplary healthcare, thank you!!
