Dr. Schlafstein and his entire team were phenomenal. Dr. Schlafstein went above and beyond and provided excellent care. He is extremely compassionate and very thorough in his explanations of any questions you may have. I cannot recommend Dr. Schlafstein enough!

What a amazing DOCTOR.. I was referred to him because I found out I needed to have a hysterectomy due to fibroid. I was a little nervous from past c sections that it was gonna be a tough job especially for the sides uterus, he reassured me not to worry and that he was the best man for the job at hand.. Im almost 6 weeks post op, and Im very pleased with the outcome of my surgery. this has been a life changing experience, and Im very grateful for him and his whole staff at Candler

Dr Schlafstein’s bedside manner is a breath of fresh air! The process of having my gynecological issues taken care of was seamless. Dr. Barry’s attention to detail, his ability to communicate and walk me through every step of the process, and the genuine care and concern he has for his patients is all truly appreciated. I highly recommended his services, as well as his staff. They all handled this uncomfortable life situation with grace and compassion.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Barry Schlafstein. He actually listens to his patients and is very detailed in his questions about your needs and the care he will provide. He explains everything you might experience and is always there for you. My surgery went great and I have had no issues since. So very happy with the surgery he performed. If you have any female issues I would highly recommend Dr. Schlafstein. His wisdom, education and gentle compassion shines through him and his work. love love love this Dr.!!!

Dr. Schlafstein is the best in his field. Ive had two surgeries by him and both were very successful. He is very compassionate and listens to his patients. I am blessed to have him as my doctor.

If I could give Dr. Schlafstein 10 stars I would. After years of dealing with endometriosis and doctors that didn’t take me seriously, I was admittedly weary of a male doctor for my issue.I had no reason to worry. Dr. Schlafstein is kind, understanding, patient, respectful and most of all very thorough. After I told him about my worries with fertility and my condition he took the time to explain to me in great detail exactly what he would be doing and how it could affect fertility and what steps he would be taking to avoid that.In addition to that, the staff and nurses are very kind and also quite funny. :) Any woman is lucky to have Dr. Schlafstein in their corner. Simply amazing doctor and I’m so grateful to him.

Upon meeting Dr. Schlafstein I was put at ease about my surgery and recovery. He explained everything in detail as what to expect before, during and after the surgery. The staff excels in everything we experienced and it is the best run Dr.’s office we have ever been to.

Dr Schlafstein and his staff are awesome!! I had major surgery and I could not be more pleased. His staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, if they don’t know the answer they will find it and always call me back even if it was after hours they didn’t leave the office without returning my call. I had a few issues after surgery but I always felt heard and treated with respect!! Kudos to the Doctor and his staff for setting the bar high!!

What else can I say about Dr. Schlafstein other than he is amazing! Being a nurse for over 26 years I came into the process of bladder surgery with some hesitation. However, working with Dr. Schlafstein at Candler and seeing his outcomes made my decision easy. He was the guy! I cannot say enough good things about how he and his staff treated me throughout the whole process! I am 53 years old and I have my life back after nearly 15 years of horrible stress incontinence! I have been a Registered Nurse for over 40 years including investigating doctors for the New York State Department of Health. Barry Schlafstein is by far the best doctor I have ever met. He has the rare combination of being a brilliant diagnostician, practitioner, and compassionate care giver. His staff are efficient, polite, and professional. I had an exceptional surgical experience and would not let my daughter see any other doctor.

Dr.Schlafstein is the most kind-hearted compassionate physician Ive ever had. He has an amazing bedside manner. By far the best doctor Ive ever had. When I have questions or concerns, he takes the time to explain things in terms I can understand. His P.A. is just as amazing as he is. The majority of his staff follows his demeanor and poise, although Angela goes above and beyond to get you the answers you need to make your process as easy as possible. I would highly recommend this doctor/office to everyone.

Had surgery with Dr. Schlafstein about 2 years ago and it was a great experience!!! He does take awhile to get to you but when he does he is very meticulous and goes over every possible detail and scenario regarding treatment options. He took time to really understand me as a patient and has great bedside manners. I never once felt rushed or felt that I was a bother to him and the recovery and post op visits were also great. His staff is amazing and did a wonderful job as well. He is a great physician and others should aspire to be like him ... he is well worth the wait!!!

Dr. Schlafstein is the best doctor ever! He fixed me when I thought nobody else could. I had a very rare procedure done that nobody could perform, except for him and within 2 months I was fully healed and back to normal, thanks to him! Dr. Schlafstein is very nice, caring, educated. and he is very professional. He goes into detail and he explains everything. Also the staff at his office are great. I’m very thankful that I was referred to him. During my consultation he immediately recognized my problem and got me put in surgery as soon as he could. Dr. Schlafstein changed my life! I cannot say enough good things about him. His skills and his caring and compassionate ways sets him far apart from other physicians. After years of having problems with my bladder and seeing other doctors who kept giving me medications he provided the answers to make my quality of life 100% complete again. Thank you to Dr. Barry, Jennifer, Angela and all of the staff! This surgery changed my life!!! I thought that I only had a prolapsed bladder. However, Dr. Barry corrected this and several more repairs that contributed to correct other issues I was having. So thankful!!!! I would highly recommend this practice. They are so caring and understanding! Also, loved Candler hospital and all of my the caring staff.

Dr Schlafstein is amazing! He performed my laparoscopic myomectomy. I’m currently 1 month post opp. As an African American woman who often times had to strongly advocate for herself in reference to health concerns I found Dr. Schlafstein to be incredibly easy to talk to. He is thorough and did a good job listening to my concerns. I appreciated the fact that he provided all the options and made sure I understood the ball was always in my court.The office staff did a wonderful job preparing me for surgery on what to know and how to prep. Mrs. Angela is the best! The turn around time on requested paperwork for insurance and FMLA paperwork has been awesome. After surgery when I had questions I emailed the office. The turned around time was always next day. Jennifer did a great job making me feel comfortable to ask all my questions about at home care. Not to mention my incisions are beautiful. In another month or so I won’t ever be able notice them. All in all this is a big win for me no more pain from plum sized fibroids and I can still wear my beloved crop tops.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Schlafstein yesterday. I was absolutely blown away by the care I received from him and his staff. All of the nurses were so nice and polite. They actually seem to be happy to see patients, not like some offices I have been to before, who acted like it was a bother to see patients. Compassion, gentleness, and very thorough. I could go on and on about Dr. Schlafstein. I felt so comfortable with him and he was able to diagnosis my problem, and gave me some medicine that will improve my health and life! Dr. Schlafstein is such a kind and compassionate doctor! He is really a miracle worker! I had a very severe problem with incontinence and he did a state of the art procedure injecting botox in my bladder. He explained everything that would happen in surgery and addressed any concerns I had. He really listened to me and spent all the time that was necessary to ensure that I was totally comfortable. After the surgery I felt like a new person! No more worries about not making it to the restroom. He really gave me my life back and I will forever be grateful to this amazing man! Dr. Schlafstein is a amazing surgeon. As, a new patient being referred to him I was a little nervous because I hate obgyns but; he was great. He made sure I fully understood everything that was being performed as well as answering any questions I had. On the day of my procedure he again explained everything. He is very gentle and thorough not rough like alot of doctors. His nurse Ms. Angela was great as well. If, I had any concerns I was able to call or leave a voicemail etc.,. His staff is absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend Dr. Schlafstein if your having any issues.

I can honestly say that I love my doctor. He is very passionate about his work and his patients and it shows. When explained everything that he did and some extras that he found that needed repairing and how he fixed it, I was amazed. If you are wondering, still searching, stop now. Dr. Barry is it. His staff is amazing. They are professional and seem to handle everyone with care. Im over pleased with how I was handled. Oh and if you need surgery, the staff at St. Josephs Candler was off the charts with customer service. I have never been treated so well. I felt like royalty with their level of care. I have a pretty complicated medical history. Dr. Schlafstein is thoughtful and compassionate. He listened and took my concerns seriously. After several tests, he recommended a surgery. All of the pain I have been experiencing for 3+ years has been resolved.

I am so happy that I found Dr.Barry and his practice. I had seen many doctors trying to figure out what was going on and no doctor was as patient, professional and empathetic as Dr.Barry. I wanted to give a special thanks and review to Dr B and his staff. I had a procedure done almost a year ago now and I had some pretty significant complications after my surgery. I was hospitalized for sepsis/infection and then discharged. Then it came back, and we caught it in time for me to be able to handle it from home. Dr B and his PA were amazing. They were calling me almost every day to check on me, they treated me like family. Although I was not happy with Candler and some of the staff during the time, this had absolutely nothing to do with him or his staff. Thank you again for all you did, I’m so glad to have had Dr B and staff and they had my back 1000%. I highly recommend this Dr for any specialty surgical procedures, you will not regret it. Thanks

Dr. Schlaftein is a magnificent doctor!! Not only is he caring, takes his times to explain everything, but he is also the BEST surgeon I’ve ever met! Thanks to him I can now live a normal life without having to run to the bathroom every little while. I’m forever grateful! Dr. Schalfstein is a great physician. Horrible cycle. I would bleed for days, Big blood clots, and very painful. I received a total hysterectomy on 5/8/23 and I am feeling Great. Thank you Dr. Schalfstein and staff

If ever you need a excellent specialized Board Certified Gynecologist, Dr. Barry Schlafstein is the man for the job! Before I had my hysterectomy I did not know what to do. I just knew I was tired of feeling the way I was feeling. Got a referral to see Dr. Schlafstein and when I tell you he is the most pleasant doctor I think I have ever met. He went over my sonogram results and we talked about what steps I wanted to take as far as the fibroid he found and I left his office reassured that everything was going to be okay and he went step by step over everything he would be doing during the surgery and I couldnt be more pleased!!! THANKS A MILLION!!!

I am a 60 year old female with stage 2 prolapse. Dr. Barry is the best doctor I have ever met in my life. He cares about his patience. He takes time to explain details. It takes time to get an appointment. Its obvious this man is in great demand. His staff is great and they respect him. The Candler hospital which he is affiliated with, is a good place to be when you need a hospital. I think these folks have Mayo beat by a long shot. Why? Because they care about their patience, its not just a job.

I am a relatively healthy 75 year-old woman. Dr. Schlasfstein performed surgery to correct my vaginal prolapse. The surgery was very successful, and recovery was not difficult. For me, the surgery restored dignity to the aging process. The physical and emotional benefits of the surgery have made me feel so much better.Dr. Schlasfstein and his staff are professional, competent, and personable. This has been a very positive experience for me.

The best Dr. ive ever had! Dr. Schlafstein can do what most say that they couldnt! I had a issues with fibroids (17 enlarged). EVER obgyn I want 2 wanted to do a hysterectomy due to the size of the fibroids, however I want to have it least 1 child, because I dont have any. On my 1st visit Dr. Schlafstein said he could perform a myomectomy to remove the fibroids and keep my uterus in tact (I took everything in me not to cry) and I could have a child, so stop being old fashioned and get in it lol (im 44). During the visit he also told me my tattoo might look different because of the location and he would add something so I would keloid. My surgery was 4/12/21. I got my staples removed 4/15/21 and surgical tape removed 4/28/21. You can not tell I had anything done down there! The tattoo is lined up PERFECT and I feel great! Dr. Barry is professional his bedside manners is outstanding. Most doctors are in business for the money only, but not Dr. Schlafstein. He intrigued and loves what he does i love him!!!!

After years of procrastination, I finally decided to have a medically necessary procedure done and was referred to Dr. Schlafstein. He was kind, and answered all of my questions while explaining what needed to be done. He also provided literature which helped to calm my nerves and let me make the best decision for me. His staff is wonderful as well.

From the very first visit to the office I knew I was in excellent hands. The entire staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I had my first surgery before covid19 was an issue. I always got a hug from Angela.The first visit my husband was allowed in and Dr totally explained the procedures for both surgeries to both of us.Everything is very up to date with the 3DHD procedures. I highly recommend Dr Schlafstein.

I am exceedingly pleased with my care under Dr. Barry and his staff. I was having a difficult time with peri-menipausual symptoms, and my body was not on the same like clock work schedule which feels like a betrayal some how. When I brought my concerns to Dr. Barry, he found that I had a Prolapsed condition that I chose to have lapiscopic surgery to correct. His skills as a surgeon left me with minimum scarring, realistic expectations for recovery and I am completely discharged 2 months after. I couldnt ask for a better result, and I thank all the dedicated staff of Candler health system who contributed to my care. Thank you Dr. BARRY!

The waiting time is absolutely ridiculous! I had to reschedule 3 times because I couldnt wait any longer as I am working and have 3 kids! And that was after already waiting for one hour. I havent seen Dr Schlafstein yet but can he be that good that he is worth waiting so extremely long for? No one is! If you have all the time in the world then go ahead and waste your time!

I had a appointment with Dr schlafstein may 31 , a referral from my GYN doctor I had to wait 2 months to see his nurse practitioner I never got to see him or meet him I just want to say I believe thats unprofessional that you should at least see your patience for the for the first visit

Although he wait times maybe long. He gives a lot of information and always allows you to ask several questions. He draws pictures and even printed 3d pictures of my surgery so I can see what he did. If you watch greys anatomy I truly consider him the Derrick Sheppard of his field. Thank you!

Kind, attentive, gentle, I could go on and on. He literally took 4 pages of handwritten notes while interviewing me before my exam. Ive never had a dr so thorough!!!!! Looking forward to my multiple surgeries. Feel comfortable with him as my surgeon.

Id like to suggest that you remove your printer from the patient exam room. (OR, give the patient 1 minute to get dressed before coming in to use said printer). VERY rude and unprofessional behavior. The NP I saw was kind and genuine. Youd have had 5 stars if not for the printer BS.

Amazing doctor. I never thought I would like a male gynecologist. He is extremely smart and has the best bedside manner. I have been seeing him since I was 21 (6 years). He has seen and treated me with endometriosis and PCOS. He always finds what works for me and follows up on it. He takes his time and gets to know his patients. Melinda is just as wonderful. I couldnt imagine seeing anyone else.

Took me in at 36 weeks pregnant when no other doctor would as I was moving back home from Florida. Took the best care of me and my bab! Then when I had my second and he was no longer delivering, he found me Dr. Tucker whom I loved as well! Now that I have new ins im back :) One of the best OBGYNs and practices ive been to! Love him and Melinda!

Highly unorganized! After visiting this doctor post er referral, they lost my file! For the follow up they told me to be there at 9am. When I got there they said they wrote it down for 10:30. Then I waited for over an hour before leaving. I rescheduled and they changed the date and time three times. When I showed up again they said the time they had written down was different (I put it in my calendar of my phone and repeat to appointment maker on the phone) I waited over an hour again before they said it would be 30-45 minutes more. I never did get the follow up. I definetley don’t trust them with my health care.

The doctors here are great, but their billing office is just atrocious! Consistently get bills with 60 and 90 days overdue without ever receiving bills previously and their office never returns calls. Dont bother
