Planned Parenthood - San Mateo

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at this planned parenthood. They have the sweetest most considerate group of individuals that I have ever encountered working at this facility. Everything went so smooth and perfect that it seems unbelievable. I traveled to this location from Dallas, Texas and have been a little nervous that I may not make it back to the airport in time for my departure flight. The team made sure to get me taken cared of and not only did my appointment take less than 3 hours, I had some extra time to spare to explore New Mexico. I am super happy that I made this decision for myself and I already physically feel 1000x better after my SA procedure. This was not a super hard decision for me to make, but with the staff being so kind and supportive I knew I was doing the right thing for myself and my life. Also I honestly didn’t feel any pain during the procedure and didn’t even experience any down time. I feel perfectly fine hours after my procedure and my excruciating nausea has already completely disappeared! Thank you soooo much for all of your help and the financial team for allowing me to be able to do this without breaking my pockets. I will definitely support planned parenthood and donate from now on! Also I’m writing this from the airport with still another hour to spare, again thank you and I am so grateful.

I can’t even put into words how this one lady made me felt. She was so sweet, so nice and just she made the whole thing so much better she held my hand and held me and I will always remember her she was just honest truly amazing. So if you are the lady that helped me April 26th around 5:30 and told you I wanted to be in the military thank you so much. You have a special place in my heart and I hope you get nothing but good things in life 🤍

Any form of self care can be emotionally overwhelming, so I am very thankful for the staff here at this clinic. From the moment I stepped off the car, I was taken care of. I was escorted safely into the building where I met many nurses and a couple of doctors, all of whom were kind and respectful. I felt safe and protected every step of the way. Thank you, to each one of you.

This place gave me the most welcoming,amazing,comforting day I’ve had in as long as I can remember.ALL of staff was beyond anything anyone could ever ask for…attentive, loving, and just all around some of the best workers I’ve ever seen in healthcare! Planned parenthood is one of the worst. They’re supposed to be there to help you prevent unwanted pregnancy and they don’t care enough to get you in for a birth control appointment. They’re always months booked out but when you try to book an appointment in advance they say you need to do it 2 weeks before the appointment you want and yet there still 2 months booked out it makes no sense. They’re the reason most women have to get abortions or put a baby in the system because they don’t care to help prevent pregnancy. At this point the abortion rates went up because these clinics don’t care

One of the worst places I have ever been to on planet Earth, the people that work there have no sense of anything. I went for an appointment and got my birth control shot and then the lady at the front desk wrote me my note for my next visit which clearly said San Mateo location, I went back to that se San Mateo location as I had scheduled and one of the ladies was so rude and then she said we no longer do family planning. And I told them that the Planned Parenthood on the Northeast heights on Candelaria had permanently switch me over to their clinic. The ladies kept giving me a hard time at the front desk they didnt even apologize or try to help reschedule my appointment they were so inconsiderate and rude and very disrespectful.

Best gynecological visit Ive ever had. The doctor was not only professional but also kind and intelligent. Some doctors are nice but brush you off or rush you out, and this was not the case. Admin can always be a little challenging but the girl who checked me in was very nice.

I am beyond grateful places like planned parenthood exist. They answered all my questions, no matter how small and I felt safe my entire appointment. Zero judgement, no fear just knowledge and People helping other people. The location is fenced and private along with security. I was frankly proud there was a place I could go to and receive treatment with additional resources available, if needed. I recommend them for any and all of their services.

I went in to get a removal and insertion of nexplanon. The first doctor I had was extremely nice and helpful and I was unaware that it had to be every 5 years, I came in at the 4th year. As the doctor was setting everything up for the implant, another doctor burst in the room and started attacking me with why are you getting the nexplanon now? You shouldn’t get it now, why can’t you wait? And all kinds of questions in a very rude manner. She was very rude, did not have any professionalism whatsoever. She should closely examine how she talks to patients. She could have been nicer about her approach towards telling me to wait. Will go to other location.

The nurses Jami, Lillian. Dr. Hofler & Magely were all so very nice! Did a very great awesome job at what they were doing. & made me feel very comfortable! Thank you for a good & fast service with me there! Ide recommend anyone to go to this place for pregnancy, STD checking, etc. You won’t regret it👌🏼

Sincerely appalled with the treatment we received today. Im a planned parenthood supporter but am honestly so disappointed with what happened at todays visit. My husband had a planned vasectomy scheduled for today. We had a great consultation with my kids in tow, and was under the impression that when surgery day came we would be able to wait in the waiting room until his procedure was complete so I could drive him home. Fast forward to the day of the procedure (today), my husband, myself, and my 5 week old sleeping infant settle in to fill out paperwork when the woman from behind the counter abruptly told my husband (not me) that they cant wait for you in here, the baby may cry and if hes too loud he can upset the other patients in the waiting area. My husband and I looked at each other somewhat shocked as we werent told this at all during the consultation or any of the phone calls. I asked my husband where we should should go to wait and the woman replied with the surgery takes two hours and you two really should step outside because youre disrupting patients and I really cant have this here. She also chimed in with I can schedule you again for September so you can get this figured out. I was on the brink of tears due to this womans abrasive behavior. Long story short, my 5 week old and I both were banished to wait outside in the middle of August all because children arent allowed in the planned parenthood waiting room.Im sincerely disheartened by this and hope things will eventually change. I feel I should add my 5week old slept through the entire ordeal... didnt make a peep. I still strongly support planned parenthood, but the woman upfront sincerely needs better training when it comes to the treatment of families and their support.

Very unprofessional staff, youre here for the abortion, right?! in front of a room full of patients. As if the protestors didnt make it difficult enough, the staff made it an even more difficult process. She was told to sit down and wait. Three hour wait time until they admitted they forgot but said you should have said something, your appointment was three hours ago.

Horrible! My appointment was at 9:10 am 8/4/2021 and they called and told me at 8:12 am that I couldnt be seen until 8/24/2021. No remorse no trying to help just complete lack of professionalism and care for the patient. Ive always donated to PPNM but Im definitely keeping all my coins for another cause after this experience. If the budget is $1M-$5M IDK why these offices in NM are so broken down and hire the WORST and most DUMB people Ive ever encountered in a medical office. I work in Finance and will also be advising my employer to stop all donations as well. I called Delaware and New York and California and they all said that was unacceptable for some reason in New Mexico is cool. Anyways people, if you value your hard earned coins and your loins, avoid NM PP at ALL costs. Simpletons.

Not a walk in facility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!even though you call first , let them know you are in pain.. and they tell you to come right in ..to get get there to be turned away by the people inside telling you they dont do walk ins. (Loss of work hours and personal time) there is also no direct number

Great experience! Only downfall was the wait time, I did wait almost 3 hours to see the doctor BUT I felt no pain at all during my surgical procedure and was taken well care of by the staff!

The staff was very sweet and understanding they made you feel comfortable they talked you through everything and they were with you through the whole thing.

I just went in to ask a question about womens health and they were so nice and very helpful they directed me where I needed to go

(Helpful service, please donate to Planned Parenthood!) A lot of protesters around the property yelling over the fence at you, Long wait time, only 1 support person allowed to go inside due to limited space.

Everyone here is so friendly and nonjudgmental. I will definitely come here whenever I need. Thank you to the staff for making me so comfortable during a difficult time.

Horrible service nobody ever answers the phone was waiting for someone to ANSWER my call for 15 minutes before finally giving up.

Everyone is very professional, helpful, and kind. Its nice to have a business thats so invested in the health of women.
