ESSENTIAL ACUPUNCTURE CHANGED MY LIFE!!! A few months ago I was out having dinner with my family. Suddenly I began to feel numbness on the left side of my face and body, slurred speech, couldn’t blink my left eye, headache, earache and droopy face. Everything happened so quick I couldn’t continue with my dinner my food and drink would leak out of my mouth. I said to my husband to drive me to the hospital. I thought I was having a stroke. At the hospital the triage nurse said, “I think you are having a stroke, I only have one bed it’s in the hallway. I will put you there” The doctor came over and did a few tests. He said blink, pucker your lips and squeeze my hands. Then he said “you’re not having a stroke it’s Bell’s Palsy go home and call your primary care provider. Do you have any questions?” My husband said can she massage her face? He said “no, whatever she does nothing will help this will go away on its own it will take six months to a year or longer. Everyone is different.” I left the hospital crying and very sad. Not knowing when I would be back to myself feeling better. Next day I called my primary doctor and went to see her. I told her that the doctor at the hospital said I had Bell’s Palsy. She said that the only thing she knew that worked for Bell’s Palsy was acupuncture. She gave me a few numbers to call. I called but nobody was available. I came across Essential Acupuncture in Arlington and they told me to come in the next day. I was seen by Young Kim. He did and evaluation and immediately began treatment. Right after that first session I notice a difference. I was able to slightly smile. After the second week I was able to eat, drink and brush my teeth without making a mess. I was also able to blink my left eye. I continued treatment everyday for about six weeks. I went back to see my primary doctor she said I made a huge improvement and it seemed like I never had a droopy face. I continued treatment twice a week for the next few months. I was also treated by Zoe. I am extremely grateful to Young Kim and Zoe for helping me with this health issue and helping me get back to myself. Young Kim and Zoe are wonderful, very knowledgeable, empathetic and friendly. I am so happy that I came across Essential Acupuncture. I highly recommend them to anyone. Trigger Finger AcupunctureI am 60 years old woman. I moved to WA 5 years ago from other state. And 2 years ago my right wrist was broken. After my cast on as removed it felt healed. But suddenly trigger finger started on my right hand’s middle finger. Let’s call it #3 finger.It got worse over time.So I checked and ordered all kind of tools from Amazon for trigger finger.…Nothing worked.I did finger exercise, massage with youtube.…Nothing worked.Finally I took a steroid injection.…Nothing worked!My life turned to hell.#4 and #5 fingers started to get stuck.Can’t cut a fruit or grab a toothbrush. Cuz my fingers are stuck after I do that.Seems the only way to fix was surgery. But I didn’t want it. Surgery is really really last choice for me.I am Korean.I have knowledge about acupuncture. I even know precise points.But finding a good acupuncturist in America is very difficult.I decided to try to find out good acupuncturist before surgery.So I asked many of Korean and other Asians.“Who is the best acupuncturist in WA?”After searching for months, I found this place.And I recognized Dr. Kim has very good acupuncture technique during my 1st treatment. So I bought the 21 treatments package.The 1st treatment was electric acupuncture and was level 2.5(level 6 is Max).First two months was not much improvement but I knew that I needed to be patient. Cuz my trigger finger has been over a year so can’t fix in a couple months.3rd month, still stuck but getting better.4th month, #4 and #5 was fixed! I could get level 6 treatment each visit.5th month, #3 finger is fixed!Maybe some people think that 5 months is too long but acupuncture helps human’s natural healing. It takes time. Also it’s depends on how serious the symptoms. My trigger finger was really bad. Now, I can peel potato! No more stress to grab a toothbrush! No surgery!I am so glad I found Dr. Kim!Highly recommend!

I am very happy I found Essential Acupuncture at its Arlington location which is near to my home. Six months ago I had knee replacement surgery and the recovery/physical therapy have taken a toll on my lower back and hip. The result has been a massive attack of sciatica, but I am very pleased that after just two sessions Mr. Young Kim has worked wonders. My pain level is steadily decreasing and I’m feeling better than I have in months. I am very grateful for the good care I have received and look forward to increasing wellness.

I had a wonderful massage with Elise. Im 32weeks pregnant and Im really starting to feel the muscle aches in my backs and legs. Elise completely eased those aches. It was so nice to be able to lay face down comfortably. The massage room is so peaceful that I nearly fall asleep. I havent felt that relaxed in months. Everyone at the clinic is very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this clinic for prenatal, maternity massage and deep tissue massage!

Ive always been a little afraid to try acupuncture, but i started going to help with chronic pain after being in a car accident and plateauing in my recovery with just Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, and Massage. Its not only helped with reducing pain but it also helped alleviate my chronic migraines and I was able to go off the medication Ive been on for over 6 years. Lovely welcoming and comforting small business in Smokey Point. Friendly receptionist with knowledgeable doctors. Ive been a few times for some pain relief, and each time the doctors took their time explaining throughly what and why they chose the particular treatments for the appointment. I didnt find the needles at all painful and the treatments themselves were very relaxing. Highly recommend in conjunction with western medicine as whole body care.

Dr Jun and her staff are so wonderful! The office is calming & relaxing from the moment you walk in. I was a total acupuncture skeptic, then my sister and mother-in-law both told me they swear by it. So i decided to give it a try. I was referred to Dr. Kim by a friend who is also his patient. My first sessions were for excruciating pain in my elbows (golf and tennis elbows!). After about three sessions the pain was going away- and after six i am COMPLETELY PAIN FREE! I am totally sold! Ive also been treated for painful knees and heels. Dr Kim has a wonderful kind and calm nature. He listens attentively to what you tell him, then he discusses what he thinks would be best for you. First time ever doing acupuncture, I was a little nervous! I have sciatic issues that flare up every once in a while, this time someone suggested I try acupuncture after not being able to walk properly for almost 10 days, and being brought to tears from pain and frustration. I was fascinated with my AcuGraph report and Dr Jun’s assessment and explanation of the meridians and the chi flowing through our bodies. Being a yoga teacher, none of this was foreign to me, so I could easily understand the information. The office was so peaceful and calming, Dr Jun was very attentive and knowledgeable. Dr. Kim is my first and only acupuncturist at this time. I have been having chronic pain in my neck, shoulder, and upper back for a few years from working in front of computer all day long. I’ve been seeing Dr. Kim for a few months now and I could actually feel less pain in my neck, shoulder, and upper back since the very first visit. I did not expect the pain to ease after the first visit as I was told that it could take up to five visits to see the result and I thought that was magical!Dr. Kim is very patient and knowledgeable. He explained the treatment (acupuncture, cupping, and elctroacupuncture) very clearly and in detail during my first treatment session. I personally like to have more needles and cupping in the problem areas and leaving them there for a longer period of time and Dr. Kim is always happy to accommodate my requests.I recently went in for cold treatment and felt so much better the next morning!I exercise regularly and get deep tissue massage once every two weeks or once a month. Now I feel like acupuncture is going to be another indispensable alternative to reduce my chronic pain!If you have chronic pain like me and have never tried acupuncture, I would highly recommend Dr. Kim!

Ive been coming to see Dr. Kim for acupuncture over the past 4 months, to treat a chronic condition called Crohns Disease. My wife recommended that Id try acupuncture as it has helped her get some symptom relief from frequent migraines and other ailments. At first I was very skeptical of how much of a benefit I would feel from this treatment, but I was pleasantly surprised and overall it has been an excellent experience for me. Not only has the acupuncture helped me calm my body down, I enjoy the treatment and working with Dr. Kim.My symptoms have certainly been calmed down a lot since starting treatment. I am a high level professional track and field athlete who has had numerous amounts of treatment and my sessions at essential acupuncture are by far the most affective! Not only instant relief but also long lasting. Dr. Kim always walks you through every treatment as well so it is nice to know exactly what is going on and why. I am thankful for the Arlington acupuncture as they are my go to acupuncture! I work on cars for a living and they are able to take care of my needs with my body. One time i had an issue with my sciatica acting up. It was such a painful experience to have this issue. You cant move or walk comfortably without any pain. I came here because I couldnt wait to be seen by my regular doctor and was able to walk normally again after 2 sessions. I mean after this experience I am a believer in acupuncture! I have been doing acupuncture for a few years now. When I first started here I was getting a cold every single weekend. I had a healthy diet, exercised, and overall a pretty healthy lifestyle for young woman. I was going to the Everett Clinic walk- in every single time to try and get help or antibiotics to help me feel better. Since I have been regularly seeing Dr. Young Kim I have only been sick a few times a year! I love that I can go and do things on the weekends now and not miss work, etc. for the next week after. Another thing that we have worked on is my low back pain. I have always been in pain and just kind of learned to live with it day to day. Acupuncture has made a huge difference! After suffering a whiplash/neck sprain from a car accident, I went to Arlington Acupuncture for treatment (in addition to other therapies). I got a good nights sleep for the first time in months thanks to Young Kim.I have been waking up with throbbing pain in my arms and neck every half hour. I thought it was low blood pressure and my husband suggested pinched nerve so when my company had a health fair and I received a coupon for acupuncture I decided to try it. That was a good decision. Young Kim is so amazing. He is kind and takes time to explain everything so it is easy to understand. I have experienced so much relief. When I told him I felt sluggish he offered some Chinese herbs and now I feel great. I highly recommend Young Kim.

I wish I had tried acupuncture long ago! I sought out Young Kim after feeling like Western medicine was failing me. My menstrual cycles were very irregular, and none of the doctors I consulted had any real treatment to offer. After just a few treatments, I had a nearly normal cycle - and after two months, things continue to normalize and look better! I have way more energy, fewer skin problems, and I feel a greater lightness of being. I also usually suffer from pretty consistent anxiety, especially doing things like driving - this has also VASTLY improved in only two months. My low back pain, with muscle spasms and sciatica was taking longer than usual to go away with the my typical doses of chiropractic and massage. My dad told me about a friend who was using acupuncture (for a different condition) but that i should give it a try for my issue. After doing some online searching and talking with a few friends I found that it was not that uncommon. Others had tried and had success, so why not me i thought. At this point i did a search for acupuncture in my area and found it to be close by. Now that i had been out of work for approx. 1 month and i was not getting much better i called and set up an appointment. Wow what a breeze, they got me in asap and gave me a consultation where my questions were addressed and my concerns melted away. They treated me the same day and my pain was relieved considerably. After seeing Kyle several times a week for approx. a month i can definitely say that without treatment from acupuncture i do not know where i would be. My back pain and muscle spasms and back tightness are gone, still a little sciatic pain but (a bulging disc will do that). Overall i wish i would have done acupuncture earlier in the game. Probably would have been back to work earlier. But im glad i pulled the trigger and got on the table and let Kyle knock out my pain. I am definitely not a fan of needles as far as shots and getting my blood drawn, but let me tell you this is not even close. Very little pain and some you cant even feel. If you are reluctant because of this, then i am here to tell you dont worry its not an issue. Kyle is comfortable to talk to, reassuring and has a very positive attitude, he listens to what your concerns and needs are. With that said this is no one time deal and you are cured. Stick with it like i did, even Kyle admitted that it took a little longer and a few more appointments than usual to get my pain under control but everyone is different. Another words stick with it and your reward will be great. Thanks to Kyle and his friendly staff for putting me back on my feet and getting me back to work to provide for my family. If you value your health then this is the way when other kinds of doctor treatments arent working. Or in my instance i will being seeing Kyle first, then the chiropractor and massage therapist later.

Have had very good results for reducing nerve pain and stiffness in my hip. Tried physical therapy for 3 months prior with little success. This is my first time getting acupuncture, so I cant compare; however, I think Dr Kim is good.

Acupuncture saved my life.After six months of unbearable pain from an auto accident my doctor proclaimed Rita, i just dont know what to do for you! Im sending you to a spine specialist to see if he thinks of anything. In turn, the spine specialist suggested acupuncture. He didnt know of anywhere in my area, but after a couple of days of searching, while my pain level was 10 on the 1 to 10 scale, I was desperate. I called Arlington Acupuncture and pleaded can you work me in as soon as possible? They invited me that very afternoon. And thus, my happy and grateful experience with acupuncture began. A gentle, relaxing Dr. Kyle and a warm homey atmosphere made it a joy to commute to Arlington Acupuncture twice a week. And an amazing steady relief from pain seemed too good to be true. After my former 8 months of agony, Im bit by bit becoming a new person. I cant praise acupuncture and Dr. Kyle enough.

Having had Knee Replacement Surgery and in pain for a month I finally decided to have Acupuncture. Im so happy I did. Stephen listened to what it was I wanted and the results have been nothing but good. I have been six times and will continue on a monthly schedule. My last visit I had explained to Stephen that I was going on a weekend bicycle ride with friends and that I would like to have my knee and back worked on. I went on a 23 mile bike ride and made it with no pain at all. I had not been on a bike in a year. I felt so good afterwards that I have been telling everyone. I grew up in family and environment where we use Chinese medicine for daily life. Also, I’m Chinese so I’m very familiar how this medicine works. First, go see Dr. Kyle. He really knows what he is doing!I started seeing Dr. Kyle at Arlington Acupuncture primarily for painful menstrual cycle. I get dizzy and sometimes faint due to the pain. I dont like to take pain pill so I wanted to try natural way to deal with pain. We went through long consultation about my health history; he recommended getting treatment combining with herb for my case. WOW! There was no pain at all when next period came. There was a little discomfort on my low back but that was it. I’m really happy that I found him. He also fixed my shoulder and low back in three treatments.

I have been living in chronic pain for 6 months. I have tried everything with no relief. Acupuncture was my last resort before seeing a surgeon. Silly me, should have been my first call! Went in having bad migraines, I would have them almost everyday all day. After going to several neurologist and getting perscribed many different medications and seeing no results I decided to give acupuncture a go. With each sessions I got less and less migraines, currently down to one migraine a week. Would 100% recommend Dr.Kim for any acupuncture needs!

Dr Kim is one of kind. His methods are effective and painless. I have been seeing Dr Kim intermittently for years for an array of issues and he has resolved them all in a timely and professional manner. He has kept me informed on my care, given me instructions for home care and continuing care of injuries. Would highly recommend.

As a severe and chronic asthmatic I have had to take medications for years including prednisone which has numerous side effects. I had a friend suggest acupuncture. I was initially very skeptical but thought Id give it a try. My skepticism quickly turned to amazement as Dr. Kim patiently listened to my medical history and addressed some of my issues. One common side effect from prednisone is increased eye pressure and if you get to 20 or higher you are at risk for glaucoma. My pressure gradually kept rising getting as high as 21. After just two treatments, my pressure went down to 13! My optometrist was amazed. I have also had severe muscle spasms in my back. Any time Ive gone in for that reason I leave feeling soooo much better. My daughter ran cross country and track and got terribly painful shin splints. I brought her in and within a few treatments, she felt incredibly better and was able to get back to running! The office staff are incredibly kind, Dr. Kim in professional and truly cares about your well being, and the treatments, instead of painful (as I was intially worried about) are often times very relaxing with a warm room and peaceful music. I am beyond pleased that I gave accupunture a try and would highly highly recommend Arlington Accupunture

Edit: Ive now had about 20 visits and I feel better all the time. I cannot recommend this place enough. June is amazing and the front staff are so helpful.6 wonderful visits and counting. The staff is polite and helpful and the Acupuncture/cupping treatments are efficient, relaxing and appear to be doing the job of bringing my body back into balance.

When I came to Arlington Acupuncture I asked Dr. Kim if he only treated pain or if he also treated Asthma. He replied that he did his dissertation on Asthma! Im off the QVar and Singulair after only a month of treatments and just use the emergency inhaler as needed. Im looking forward to getting rid of that too. My migraines are much better and my nerve pain in my hand is gone. Hes the best. I also appreciate Angela for working so hard to get my insurance company to cover me. A great team!

Ive seen Dr. Kim for over 4 years. What originally brought me to him was neck/shoulder issues and hip tightness. Ive done away with those and now see him monthly to maintain my comfort. I am a first time user of Acupuncture and longtime meditator now two weeks in with both acupuncture and meditation I feel my body coming alive and relaxing (at least that is what I hope I’m feeling). Zoe is an absolute wonder! She is intuitive, asks detailed questions, listens to what the body needs and treats you above and beyond. I have never felt better since being treated here. Back Pain went from an 8.5 to 0 in one treatment.. and it has lasted!! No flare ups since the initial exam though I am continuing to be treated because TCM is a wonder.

This is the first time I have tried acupuncture. I have a life long neck injury from a car wreck that I made worse by crashing on my skateboard a few months ago. She treated that on the second visit and my new neck pain was instantly gone :)

I got diagnosed with Bells Palsy and went straight to Arlington Acupuncture by recommendation from a friend. Kyle Baek was way more informative and helpful then the walk in clinic. He told me lots about Bells Palsy including going to acupuncture within the first 72 hours is beneficial for faster healing! Bells Palsy can last a few weeks to years and the cause is unknown! SCARY. The appointment lasted around 40 minutes and I went ten days in a row, then twice a week. After week three I was about 97% back to normal! Great place to go!

Ive been seeing Dr Kim for a foot condition called Freibergs Infraction, a rare and painful disease that doesnt heal easily. After just a few treatments I could tell that the pain was pretty much non existent. Im now getting better circulation in my foot and my over all body feels SO much better. Dr Kim is very professional and gentle. He explains everything hes doing so you understand. I highly recommend him him!

I am a 52-year-old 3rd grade teacher struggling to live with Degenerative Disc Disease (Arthritis) in my neck. Though the degeneration likely began years ago, the pain only began in April of this year. I went, in a matter of days, from being an active person who loved to walk my large dogs, garden, snow ski, water ski and work out at the gym, to suffering through each day and crawling into bed by 5:00 pm, unable to endure anymore pain. Living this way was significantly impacting my life, my energy level and my joy. The only relief I could find was an icepack, ibuprofen and a memory foam pillow.During the first few months of pain I was determine to find a treatment that would help me get my life back. I tried PT, massage and chiropractic. Though all gave me some temporary relief, my overall condition seemed to be worsening. As the months wore by, my pain increased and I began to lose hope. I could feel myself slipping into depression with the thought of “this” being my life. After 7 months, without finding relief, bone and joint doctors offered pain pills, injections and arthritis and nerve drugs. I refused the pain pills as I have seen these drugs ruin too many lives. By November I had nearly lost hope for getting better. I decided to schedule the injection and begin medications. However, upon leaving my chiropractor, I noticed the acupuncture office across the hall. I am embarrassed to say, understanding nothing about acupuncture, the only reason I walked through the front door was because, “What did I have to lose?” It was a last resort before committing to prescription medication.I met with Young Kim and Kyle. They explained that they could help me but, with my diagnosis, the results would not come quickly. I would need to commit to several treatments 2-3 days a week for a few weeks. I agreed.The treatment was painless, even relaxing, with a heated bed and soft music. After three treatments I felt very little change. After the fourth treatment I was actually quite tender and sore. After the fifth treatment everything changed for the better.Today, I have received 10 treatments and I have my life back! My pain is significantly less and my energy level is substantially higher. I am able to enjoy working with my students again and I have the stamina to make it through my day and then some. I am walking the dogs, working out at the gym and praying for snow so I can head to the mountain.Though acupuncture was a last resort in my mind, it should have been the FIRST thing I tried. I am thrilled, humbled and grateful for the gentle, thoughtful and compassionate care I have received at Arlington Acupuncture. It is not an exaggeration to say they have saved my quality of life. I have had really bad shoulder for about 5 years now, I have gone to the chiropractor numerous times and it only took away about 80% of my pain. Ive also seen an omt and that didnt help much. I wish I would have done acupuncture before I did everything else . I cant remember the last time that I didnt feel a constant pain in my shoulder and I am in awe that after 4 times its pretty much completely gone. I have been seeing Stephen for acupuncture for about 3 weeks now. I went in for a condition called “Hyperemisis Gravedarum” (during pregnancy). Long name, huh? It’s basically when you throw up around the clock non stop and end up in the ER for IV fluids. I had hit a point where my anti nausea medication wasn’t enough. I was desperate for change. I finally listened to my intuition and went and got acupuncture. I can tell you, I AM BETTER. Not perfect but so much better! I only throw up a couple of times a day now and I know that soon I may not even throw up at all anymore. I’m so happy and excited about the relief I get through Acupuncture. My husband Rigo and I have been here a few times and we believe that the treatments weve been receiving have really been working. Its a great alternative to medication. More natural and you can really feel the difference, more relaxing after each session.

I was very displease. he is in the same office as a very good chiropractor and massage therapist who I went to see. while waiting he offered a complimentary exam. which he ended up charging me for. I agreed to several visits which I paid in full at time of service. most insurance wont cover questionable medical treatments. Because I chose to cancel services after 3 visit and no sign of benefit, he sends me a $400. bill! He did agree to reduce it to $200. must feel guilty?

I see Practioner Zoe for back pain and low energy. She does an exceptional job. I really notice a difference!

Not sure what the condition is, but it sounds like locking fingers, but mine dont hurt as the definition has been described; just a momentary locking of finger joints to deal with. I had 6 fingers that had the locking issues; after two treatments, two are back to normal. After continuing treatments, Im down to one finger that still persist on locking but less then it did before. Everything is somewhat back to normal, about 90%. I always look forward to my appointments with Dr. Kim and would recommend his services.

I went to see Kyle for my trigger finger (a finger that gets stuck in the closed position and it would not open). After 2 weeks of visits 2 times a week I was able to use my hand again without pain and numbness and it no longer locks up. He is kind and knowledgeable, I really appreciate his work.

I had a very good experience working with Kyle Baek. Our sessions helped me recover from a bad sinus/ear infection. I felt my energy move strongly and entered a deep, healing meditative state during acupuncture sessions.

I have been receiving treatment from Dr. Kim for three weeks due to a sprained leg. Its even better because they explain things kindly and in detail, and I can learn detailed management methods in the future. The recovery speed is fast and the hospital environment is good, so I highly recommend it.
