I have had great experience recently at Tufts. Recently I had an IUD insertion and Barbara Ludman, NP was AMAZING. I wasn’t feeling great after, normal reaction for my body because of nerves. Barbara didn’t rush me out of the room, which some doctors in other places have before. She made sure I was okay, provided me with crackers, juice, and anything else I needed to feel better. Highly recommend seeing Dr Ludman. Not sure if she was a nurse or student but Kelly, who assisted Dr. Ludman was also super helpful.

I love my provider, and the staff are nice enough, but this office has dropped the ball at each and every appointment I’ve had throughout my entire pregnancy. Consistently waiting 30-60 minutes past my appointment time for the provider to enter the room when I arrive early for every single appointment, messing up appointment dates and times, rescheduling my appointments without my consent, not answering messages on the patient portal, not preparing me correctly for next appointments resulting in needing to schedule extra appointments to complete blood work or tests that should’ve been done during previous appointments, and a satellite office that can’t open or run without a provider present, meaning unless you’re available during one of four days during the month you have to go to the Norwood office. Constantly trying to refuse blood work being done at Quest and sending you to their internal lab, and finally, making it difficult or impossible to make an appointment with your provider even when they’ve been your provider for over five years. I love Dr. Shen, she’s absolutely amazing and I’ll never want to see another doctor, but this office and the support staff are inefficient, unorganized, and have really just made my entire pregnancy a nightmare.

I love my doctor and the nurses here. Everyone is always very caring, and they answer my questions honestly and patiently. I have been to this practice when not pregnant as well and always had a positive experience as well. The one thing about this practice is that you absolutely have to be the type of person who will self-advocate. Example: For my second growth scan, I was told the NP put in the order and that I didnt need to take any action. Two weeks passed and it still hadnt been scheduled. I called, and was told again the order is in, dont worry, it will be scheduled. I finally sent another message through the TuftsMed portal and found out that whoops, it wasnt scheduled and the day/time I needed was no longer available. Something similar happened with my anatomy scan earlier in the pregnancy. Its not a huge deal, but I cant imagine being someone who doesnt have the courage to self-advocate, doesnt speak English fluently, etc. receiving top-notch care from this practice.

I had a terrible experience on 02/09/23 with the lady who did my first ultrasound. She was less than quick, was extreme rude to me and picked the 2 worst images of the baby she could get. I had a friend who’s a medical assistant who came with me bc my fiancé couldn’t be here (he’s in the army) and she was terrified about the way I was treated. The rest of the team was amazing like always. But that woman should not be working with prenatal ultrasounds, she should be in another department to don’t ruin ppls experiences

Completely baffled with the service!!! My wife had a appointment to be induced on Thursday. Called at 6am like told to do. She got “we’re bus right now, call back at 9am” my wife called at 9am and was told “ sorry were full and we’re going to be full tomorrow as well. Call Saturday at 8am” ok we get that! We have 4 kids and pets that all have to be situated and we made sure are taken care of. So we made planes and had everything situated for Saturday! Then we get a call today (Friday) about 10:45 we have rooms available and are ready for you now. So we rush and get everything set up and get to the labor and delivery at 11:35. 5 minutes after being there and my wife was admitted, we could here them whispering around the corner about how she’s going to flip and we didn’t know we had theses appointments and so on and so forth! Then this doc or nurse comes out and says I’m extremely sorry but while you have been standing here we’ve gotten 3 emergency calls (mind you were standing next to the desk and the phone never rang?) even the lady taken the calls looked confused!! So they have sent us on our way and said come back in a few hours!? We had all of our bags with use ready for the birth of our son! Lugged everything back to our car! Now sitting here completely frustrated! My wife is crying historically in discomfort! Shame on you Tuffs Labor and Delivery! For got to add my wife is high risk do to the fact we lost our baby girl because of a miss read on an ultrasound 2 years a ago! So stress is through the roof right now!!!!

The doctor is not helpful at all. My test results were never shared with me and when I called for questions, she is never in the office. Instead of explaining everything clearly, she would assume I know everything myself and kept asking if I had any questions without showing any sign of caring.
