This is an amazing facility. I really feel like this is a safe haven for me and my first baby. They helped me ease my first experience being a first time mom and gave me all the resources so I was taken care of. I love how It is Christian based and completely free for the initial confirmation of my pregnancy. All the team has

The visit here was not a good experience for me. Something about mixing religion with getting a checkup doesn’t sit well with me. Religious beliefs are not a one size fits all. I also felt violated and totally disrespected when having a pelvic exam done, a guy walks into the room next door that is separated by a frosted wall. Even after seeing an exam going on, he proceeded to enter and wander around the room. No one said or did anything regarding the matter. Everyone just proceeded as if it were ok. Not ok all!Second Response:Is this your way of attempting to deceive the reader? Hopefully Elizabeth and Alexis have the integrity that you obviously lack. If so, they can attest to the experience. They were doing the exam. The fact that women are REQUIRED to be alone and you claim there are no men apart of your staff makes the situation even more disturbing and unsettling because he had absolutely no reservations with entering the room separated by a slightly frosted wall while the exam was going on. I encourage ALL women to BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. Something is not right at all here. Do NOT be blinded by their “Christian-based” rhetoric.

I love the staff here!!! Donna is the sweetest and it is always a pleasure seeing her first thing in the morning she really sets the tone🥰. Johana and Jessie are amazing !!! I have had a couple different PA but by far Jessie is the best!! She goes out her way to make sure you are comfortable and are KNOWLEDGEABLE on what she is saying/your results. I am super happy I have found them and I will continue to come here!!! If i could rate them 10000 stars I would!!

I’m extremely thankful for this facility, I did something very stupid 10 months ago out of anger and this facility is the reason I’m staring at my child today. I have a very hard time trusting people and was very stand offish close minded and rude when I first came. I even lied just to get help unnecessarily. They truly want to help. The lecturing was difficult to go through but it was necessary for the end result it brought me…so get through it and don’t walk away. Storms don’t last forever🥰. Nevertheless, now as I’m looking at my Angel from GOD…. I’m glad this place accepted me and were committed to helping me despite my attitude. If you’ve made a mistake, or didn’t make a mistake please reach out for their services. Thank you woman to woman ♥️

I came here because it’s a women’s clinic that offers free STD testing, I would say my experience was not completely comfortable. If I were a pregnant woman I think my experience here would have been different, but since I was not it was a bit uncomfortable. For starters, after filling out paperwork you go and meet with a woman who is not a doctor and she asks you a bunch of very personal questions. I point blank asked her what this had to do with my STD testing and she repliedit was just protocol and they did this with anyone that came in. Still, it was unnecessary in my opinion when I was clearly there for STD testing only, nothing pregnancy related. The woman also asked me what I would do if I were to become pregnant, which again was irrelevant to my reason for being there. It was definitely pushy and I got the sense this was one of those “women’s clinics” with a religious anti abortion agenda, especially when she mentioned adoption being an option. Again, I was not even there for anything pregnancy related. I’m sure she was just doing her job, but it’s something to considered in maybe changing the so-called “protocol” because it made me extremely uncomfortable. I then went to an exam room with an actual medical nurse and I was a bit more comfortable. If you are pregnant and need resources by all means I would understand going here but just beware of the kind of environment you’re walking into. No one should shove their beliefs on you, if you’re struggling and have no insurance I would seek a different clinic.

I definitely recommend this place to every woman who needs help with their pregnancy, wants to confirm, or are confused about what to do. They provide everything at no cost at all. They are there to help under no judgment . They also provide free prenatal classes, that i will also be attending soon. I absolutely enjoyed my experience.!

TRAUMATIZING. Locked in a room and preached at by some kind of volunteer without my consent. I have truly never felt more unsafe and dehumanized. I came to Downtown Pregnancy Center after finding out I was pregnant. I was scared because my husband had recently lost his job leaving us without insurance. The women at Downtown Pregnancy Center were some of the most loving, caring and empathetic ladies who made me feel comfortable and safe the entire time I was there. I also got a call from one of the nurses today (a week after my appointment) just to let me know the staff was thinking and praying for my husband and I. I have another appointment in a little over a week and I cannot wait to go back. Downtown Pregnancy Center has taken so much of the worry and fear I was feeling and turned it into excitement and hope.

Everything was going good until I had my visit today. Literally the dr or that lady that did my sonogram ask me “do I think DEATH is best for my baby”. I really thought this was a judgement free place. On top of the rude comments the dr had the nerves to say in a “Science way” its deaths to the baby. If you wanna talk about science 1st let use the right term its an embryo okay not a baby. 2nd last I called this was my body not yours. So if sorry you feeling a type of way honey that a decision you need to have with god. People like her need to be removed from the office. That dr need to be more realistic everyone do not have same opportunities, support and financial abilities as the next person. And don’t say ask for help cuz when you ask for assistance here come that same person that said “do not kill your baby” turning around saying “why you have a baby you can’t take of”. Everyone life is different and thats okay. Check yourself before you come for somebody sweetheart.

The Downtown Pregnancy Center offers a wonderful service for women who are struggling with pregnancy, want to confirm progress via ultrasound, or need a helping hand to prepare for parenthood (dads included!).The ladies who work here are compassionate and kind, and thoroughly explain all the options the center provides, such as ultrasounds, STI testing, prenatal / childbirth / breastfeeding classes, baby supplies bought with points you can earn by attending classes, spiritual and financial counseling, adoption assistance, one-on-one mentorship, and more... all 100% free. Theyll help you navigate applying for health insurance or Medicaid if needed, and give detailed information about resources in the community plus brochures and booklets about pregnancy and parenting.I believe there is a doctor on staff who reviews sonograms and can provide some holistic care, but youll have to get actual prenatal care elsewhere. After your first ultrasound appointment confirming a viable pregnancy, youll likely be given a small gift bag to take home with goodies for expectant mom and baby. Your second ultrasound appointment will confirm fetal development about two weeks later. (Appointments are easy to schedule, and theyll make every effort to see you sooner if youre in distress, have medical concerns about pregnancy, or are considering termination.)IMPORTANT: DEPENDING ON YOUR BELIEFS, you *may* not want to go here. All of their care is from a Christian perspective since theyre affiliated with the First Baptist Church, they do not offer abortion referrals (and will actively discourage women from terminating pregnancy for non-medical reasons), and theyll offer to pray with you during every visit (but you can decline and theyre very polite about it). Some of the questions on their initial paperwork are also unusually detailed, like asking about your religious beliefs, the types of sex youve engaged in, whether it was with men or women, how many partners, etc. (The latter may be to better screen for odds of an STI, though.)For those who arent religious, the center can still absolutely be a valuable resource! Its just good for you to know what to expect. Note: they wont bring up religion very much at all unless youre receptive to the subject, which is positive. (And if you do engage in a conversation about religion or spirituality, theyll be very sensitive to and understanding of your personal views without pushing their own.)Bottom line: if youre seeking a termination or want non-biased abortion counseling, this is definitely not the place for you. But for everyone else, the center provides a much-needed service in the community, and youll be in very good hands here!

My sister went to this place while I waited for her and the lady she spoke with I guess a counselor had asked very personal questions that a regular doctors office or clinic would not ask and proceeded to say hurtful things. Also if you are very Christian and already pregnant and want to go through with the pregnancy this would be a great place.

Okay, so obviously there is a campaign to shame clinics that arent Planned Parenthood. Heres a real, honest review. When I first went to the center, I didnt know what to expect. Planned Parenthood had bragged about its many services, but in reality, they only offered flimsy birth control and abortions, and they were eager to shove abortion down my throat and refused to discuss other options. In comparison, the Downtown Center was a bit of a shock. First, every single service they provide is free. No one -- woman or man -- has to pay a cent for anything, ever. Secondly, the list of services was LONG. Counseling, career assistance, parenting classes, birthing classes, breastfeeding classes, finance classes, assistance with adoption, STD tests and education, pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, a way to earn currency through them and spend in their shop, free items, a gift bag, videos, health advice, addiction help... the list goes on, and it all lasts up until the baby is two years old, but sibling support goes up to five years old. I found out I could even have someone with me in the delivery room so I wouldnt have to be alone!Yes, its funded in part by a church, but good luck finding evidence of it. No one there mentions it, and theres nothing on the walls or anything to indicate it. The closest they come is asking if youd like spiritual counseling. If you say no, you sign a form and move on. They dont bring it up again. If you say yes, they have spiritual-themed gifts they keep apart from where youd see them, like crosses or a childrens Bible. Its absurd to think that they scouted around and found a sweet old lady to try to win you over. This place makes NO money off of women. It wont matter to them (financially, anyway) what you do or if you accept their services. Everyone there is a volunteer; they WANT to be there. Ive heard some of their stories, and they usually have the same reason theyre there -- they were once in a bad situation, and wished they could have had help.Ive seen women walk in, broke, homeless, pregnant, and alone. Ive seen them come in eight months later like a new person. Its amazing. Oh, and its not just women; they help men, too! Men who want to be tested for STDs or who want to be a father to their child can go and get the same level of treatment the women do.As a woman who found herself alone and pregnant, having the right people at the right time is crucial. Ive spoken with Planned Parenthood. Ive spoken with the Downtown Pregnancy Center. DPC is the right choice.

This place is not a safe place. It is a Christian forced-birth center, whos main agenda is making you swear you wouldnt have an abortion. I was not pregnant when I went here. I came for the free STD testing. I was told they would not give me an STD test without making me take a pregnancy test. I told them not to waste one on me because I was sure I wasnt pregnant. Just wanted to get checked out, like every sexually active person should. They said they wouldnt do it unless I took the test, so I agreed. Their wasted test, right? So while were waiting on the results Im talking to one of their counselors or whatever you wanna call them. All the questions are about what I would do if I were pregnant. Nothing about STDs or how to prevent them or birth control or anything relevant, as I had told them several times I KNOW IM NOT PREGNANT! It was a really cute old lady, probably a tactic of theirs so you wont tell her to shove it. Appeal to your grandma-lovin side. So it pretty much went Even if you arent pregnant, lets say you were, do you think youd consider having an abortion? You wouldnt want to kill your baby, would you? Then it was video time: a nice little vid about waiting until marriage to have sex. Im like ummm...too late...duh. Finally got my results and as I predicted, I wasnt pregnant. Had to wait a few days on the STD results, but by that time I was so done with that place Id never go back there again. Beware. Dont even go for the STD test.

Reason Im giving one star is because, online they say WALK-INS are fine! But, in actuality you have to have an appt and its like 2 wks out or they can send you to their uptown location which is STILL a way out on timing. In my opinion, someone needs to UPDATE their site and let OTHER SITES know the same thing. That way ppl can look and go somewhere else for SAME DAY appts.
