Illume Fertility - Danbury, CT

I have had the most wonderfully amazing experience with Dr. Hurwitz, Cathy my nurse and Chelsea my patient navigator. Treat yourself to acupuncture with Dr. Elaine and nutritional visits with Jill! Everyone I have met, talked to on the phone, taken blood or put me into a room to wait for the doctors has been absolutely fantastic. I have had the best experience with Illume and all of the staff. I will forever be grateful for all the talks, support and love they provide. Truly, first class, A+ service all of the time. You are all amazing.

Illume has been amazing for my husband and I. All the doctors and nurses are so knowledgeable and caring. My team was constantly in contact with me, updating me on my plan of care. Would recommend over and over again!

After 3 years of trying to have a baby, our dreams came true thanks to Illume. Their care team was very professional, accommodating, easy to contact and overall just excellent. My beautiful baby boy was born in December and I will forever be grateful. If we decide to expand our family we will definitely be back to Illume!

I had a wonderful experience with Illume. They were very inclusive and warm and personal, unlike another fertility center I went to prior for procedures. The patient navigators helped explain things and made it a smooth experience. Everyone was friendly at the offices which made a huge difference, and they are very welcoming to lgbtq couples. Highly recommend!

Amazing facility and VERY nice people. Helpful honesty and consistent. Only negative which is my own fault is the drawing of bloods is rough because of my veins so I’m constantly bruised but I’ll take the little with how much they have given!

If I could give illume a 0 star I would. Let me start off by saying I met my dr twice the 5 months I was going there. Met my nurse once. And to top it off I always felt judged by the ultrasound tech because every time I went she never explained anything to me and barely talked. I never had a patient portal. And to top it off I was coming a hour away almost every week for blood work and no one ever really talked to me. No communication. My nurse was always emailing me and the communication was awful with all of the doctors and nurses and techs. I never was diagnosed with anything until I WENT TO A NEW FERTILITY DR AFTER PAYING 2,000 out of POCKET FOR A IUI THAT THEY NEW WOULD NEVER WORK! BECAUSE I WAS DIAGNOSED BY A NEW FERTILITY DR WITH PCOS NEVER BY ILLUME! And to top that off they always made me feel like a number like I was never listened to and always rushed. I was given meds 3 days too late after my IUI so of course my pregnancy wouldn’t hold. I have so much low in my blood and body from PCOS that they never told me about STEER CLEAR OF THESE MONEY HUNGRY DOCTORS AND GO FIND A SECOND OPINION FROM A DR WHO ACTUALLY CARES! Also funny they sent me a bill for 295 bucks after I already paid at my pharmacy for the medications they’re trying to bill me for. The place is awful JUST AVOID IT

My doctor at Illume was compassionate and wonderful to work with. The staff is so kind, and they’re really responsive with questions. Would recommend to anyone who needs a more supportive environment for their fertility journey.

To our queer community, we STRONGLY discourage you from working with this clinic. For clarity, my wife and I have been in this process for more than a year and are working with a known donor. This was our fourth clinic, and surprisingly, it came recommended by our midwife. Needless to say, it was by far the most homophobic and invalidating experience we have had to date. We both left speechless. In fact, it was so bewildering that it took us about a week to fully process what had happened.Our initial conversation with Dr. Murdock was deeply patronizing and paternalistic—even though we reminded her that we had been doing this for well over a year, she kept speaking to us as though we had no idea what we were talking about. Furthermore, she tried to talk us out of a series of decisions related to our fertility journey that are of deep importance to us. In fact, she claimed that we were so ‘emotional’ or optimistic during this process, that it was up to them to make sure we were being logical and making the right choices. Again, this was pertaining to a choice we made nearly a year ago. She also tried to talk us out of working with a known donor because it’s ‘easier’ to work with an anonymous donor, without any regard or curiosity as to why it is important for us to be working with our close friend through this journey.Overall, it felt like we were not honored and respected as a queer couple who is trying to build a family in a manner that is different from that of a cis-heterosexual couple. Our choices will always look and feel different, and that is not something that felt supported in this space. Nor is that something this clinic has thought through. Instead, they force you to meet with a social worker, whose role is there to “support” the couple, but in practice it seems to be there to police queer folks choices and protect the clinic from lawsuits. In fact, we asked a social worker about this practice and they confirmed it was actually deeply unethical. Additionally, it took the Illume team 2.5 weeks to get back to us about whether or not they would work with our donor … and in that time we heard back from 3 other clinics who were willing to work with us without question.Lastly, when we let Illume know we were disappointed with our care and that we had every intention of writing this review they did not respond. If they do in fact respond to this rating you’ll know that it’s just a PR front, because they did not have enough care in our private communications to validate the experience we had.

Christina is the best! She’s very kind and compassionate. Always glad to see she’s working when I have an appointment.

Although infertility was the last thing I thought I would struggle with the Illume family has made it an easier cross to bare. To the scheduling staff to the phlebotomist to the RN staff to the doctors they all are amazing and all make me feel safe and in good hands. I have loved my team and their quick responsiveness. My doctor, Dr. Hurwitz is amazing and I couldn’t have chose a better doctor to help me build my fingers.

This review is long overdue. As I can sit here and tell you my story and tell you about each wonderful experience, I will save some time and let you know that this fertility clinic along with the angels that dedicate their professional love for their work is something you will forever cherish and remember. I miss the nurses, receptionists, and doctors. Your love and desire for a baby is their love and desire for your baby. They want nothing more to provide the best care plan for you and your building family! I will forever be grateful for the guidance, support, and miracle they have given me. I can’t wait to show them the bundle of joy they helped me and my husband create and I can’t wait in the future to see them again to grow my family! Please don’t hesitate your fertility journey with Illume. Once you step in their office, you will know you made the right choice.

Illume fertility has been an absolute dream to work with. The providers, nurses and front desk staff have been amazing. My challenges with fertility were resolved in less than a year while working with their team. My lifelong dream of becoming a mother is finally becoming a reality. I highly recommend Illume Fertility!

Its always a pleasure dealing with the staff at illume, they are friendly yet professional. I will always say it my Doctor, Dr Hurwitz is the absolute best. The doctors have been great. However there have been numerous miscommunications as wells as not completing processes on time including insurance authorization as well as embryo testing which caused delays in the process. I was also told I would have a financial representative that would walk me through the financial process and still over a year have not received one phone call just an email when a balance is due. This is not a simple process and not something everyone goes through, I have also expressed my concern that not one person from finance has reached out to explain anything to me and still not a contact has been made unless they want a payment.

Illume fertility has been an absolute amazing to work with! they were very quick and responsive, the communication was great, lovely people and extraordinary care. I always felt very comfortable and welcomed :)

This review is long over due, as I’m holding my beautiful 11 month old daughter as she sleeps. We are so incredibly blessed to have found Dr. Hurwitz and nurse Caroline at RMA (now illume.) We had an incredible experience and we cannot thank you all enough. God bless.

This has been the only medical facility that consistently gets back to me in a quick amount of time- esp through email which is awesome. In addition/ they call me everytime I get bloodwork- around the same time/ it’s so nice to not have to sit all day or even days worrying about your results.

Illume is a well oiled machine. Their staff is amazing, kind, and professional. They ensure you have all questions answered and appointments scheduled as needed.

I was a patient at this fertility clinic in Danbury, CT. prior to them changing their name to “Ilume Fertility”. Unfortunately I had high hopes but was let down after being with them for almost a year. The clinical plan of care is absolutely not individualized whatsoever. I felt as though I was not included in my care because they had everything already mapped out for me. When I asked them not to raise my medication doses aggressively high, they didn’t listen and my procedure got canceled because of ovarian overstimulation. There is no patient portal for labs so that the patients can review bloodwork results. Not being able to compare my bloodwork results from one month to the next was very stressful for me. I had to email the extremely busy nurses every single time I had bloodwork drawn. I always felt judged by the way I dressed and wore my hair. The staff need education on how to make patients feel comfortable and welcomed instead of eyeing them from head to toe. The front desk spoke negatively about patients in front of other patients in the waiting room.The clinic is excellent with the financial portion of things (of course) and have breakdown costs calculated immediately. They also are very good at branding and posting on social media…. Making people THINK that they are the best….but have NOT figured out the simplest things that matter to patients. I do not Suggest this clinic for patients who ask questions and want to be involved in their own care.

RMA of Connecticut was recommended to me by two different friends and boy am I glad I listened. My experience with this practice was pretty amazing. We had originally started at another fertility clinic and werent happy. Our transition to RMA was smooth and uncomplicated. I was put under the care of Dr. Murdock who was very kind and understanding. I was also treated by 3 of the other doctors as well throughout my procedures and all were just as great. The nursing staff was amazing and always available when a question came up. I would highly recommend going to RMA for your reproductive needs. You will be in great hands!

I have had an amazing experience with every staff member I was able to meet during my journey with RMA. I was at a different infertility office prior to this one, and they don’t even compare. Everyone is always so welcoming and happy to see me, everyone is very quick to respond to emails or calls. I could go on and on and on but I am very pleased with how I was treated and of the outcome! I couldn’t be more thankful for finding this office and Dr. Hurwitz!!

All of the doctors, nurses and office personnel at RMA were so very kind and helpful during our journey. They were positive, encouraging and knowledgeable during every step of the process. We were blessed with our baby girl shortly after beginning treatments.

So far ive been pleased with Illume, they call back fast and i love how they have a nurse, patient advocate and billing/insurance advocate assigned to you to help makes things easier and less stressful.

Have been working with Dr. Hurwitz for 2 years and the staff at RMA-CT primarily at the Danbury office. Have been there multiple times for early morning blood draws and several ultrasounds. The staff is always courteous, polite, positive, cheerful and the overall environment really put me, my husband and my parents who would sometimes accompany me at ease. The blood draws never even hurt!

I’ve only had one appointment here so far, but it was a great experience. I was very nervous at first but the staff made me feel very comfortable. Definitely excited to continue my fertility treatments with these doctors!

Everyone in the office makes you feel at ease. The doctors, nurses and phlebotomists are wonderful and show that they care about you as a patient. I would definitely recommend RMA CT to anyone!

All of the buildings are welcoming, inclusive, comfortable and clean. The staff and associates explain every process and answer any questions you have throughout the process. When I communicate by email, I always get a timely response. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable with your decisions and to know that you are important.

The worst place ever. They ruined my life. I almost died when I left their office. I was bleeding profusely and they sent me home. They didnt tell me to call 911 or anything. I had to call my mother when I got home and she came over and made sure I was ok. I lost a lot of blood and almost fainted. Horrible horrible horrible.

The RMA team is a group of caring and dedicated health care professionals that are dedicated to helping people with their reproductive endocrinology needs. In addition to fertility treatments, they also treat PCOS which is rare. Most of my experience has been with Carolyn, one of their nutritionists. She is a caring and very knowledgeable woman. You cant go wrong with seeing an RMA CT professional!

My wife and I were having trouble and drove ourselves crazy until we went to RMA and Dr. Hurwitz gave us peace/piece of mind. His advice and answers came from scientific fact and experience. Forever in debt to him.
