The absolute worst blood draw we have ever had. If you don’t have any other choices and you must go here I highly recommend getting anyone but Jodi. Our Dr said to see Robbi, the office and Jodi yelled at the app time from behind the office window that we could not request a phlebotomist. We had to come here for a pediatric draw and she made it a horrible experience with her inappropriate yelling across the office at other employees, her lack of people skills and her aggressive physical and verbal actions during the draw. She continually yelled through the entire draw caused pain for our child the entire time of the draw to the point he was unconsolable. I have never had a draw that hurt past the needle poke as it should be. But for our son she hurt him the entire time. I have had many blood draws and this was the absolute worst experience.

They sent me to collections for a $13.93 bill that I did not know I owed, and they never so much as reached out or attempted to contact me beforehand.I have had many labs drawn here over the years, and I am always happy to pay my bills, and I always have paid them on time. There was no attempt to bring this bill to my attention prior to sending it to collections. I would have happily paid it IF ID KNOWN I OWED IT.There is something wrong with these people...

TLDR: If you are going to this site for a pediatric blood draw, request Robbie. Do not accept no for an answer. This was my sons first ever blood draw. We arrived at 7:15. They were prompt at getting us in, but I quickly got a bad vibe from the phlebotomist whos name I cant remember (shes lucky). It took about 15 minutes to get all the documents in order, which compounded my sons anxiety. Subsequently, she missed his vein and instead of removing instantly and trying the other arm, she stabbed around for a while. 2 minutes later my son is out of the chair and fighting his way to the door.We had to return later since they forgot to take blood from my daughter for one of the tests that was prescribed. What was a separate slightly annoying issue turned out to be serendipitous. We were able to coax my son back into the office and request Robbie as the phlebotomist. It went incredibly smoothly. Hes both a competent phlebotomist and equally important has a kid-approved sense of humor (perhaps a bit much for us adults, but thats totally fine with me lol).

I’ve worked in healthcare for over 10 years and this was by the worst experience I’ve ever had. No patient experience should be handled the way mine was. First you walk in and they are blaring loud rock/pop music, so loud you can hear it before entering the building. They shout at you to be heard. Second the staff are rushed and rude. I watched an elderly woman come in after me and struggle with their kiosk and instead of being polite and helpful they laughed and her and just kept saying “it works!”. The lab tech who did my draw was no better. While the actual stick and draw were painful but ok, when it came time to finish she slapped on tape I was allergic to. I asked for another option was told “no”, told her what she put on would give me a rash with no response and had to remove it myself and ask for a paper towel. Only came to this facility because the NAH lab isn’t currently contracted with UHC insurance and I needed pre-op labs. Next time I’ll take a day off and go down to Phoenix I guess because I won’t be stepping back in this facility.

I had my blood drawn by Robbie today, and I couldn’t be more impressed. With over 20 years of experience, Robbie made the process completely painless—seriously, I didn’t feel a thing. If you’ve had trouble with blood draws in the past, I highly recommend coming here. Robbie’s skill and expertise are second to none!

Wish I could have rated 0 stars. I have had appointments for both visits and both times was turned away the first time was because it was the day before 4th of July and then this last time was told they didnt have Internet so they couldnt do my lab. I feel like they should be going through their appointments for the day and just briefly review what needs to be done and if it cant be done calling the patient. Since they havent done this I have wasted time on my days off of work and around $40 in travel getting there due to their lack of communication and preparation

I had the best blood draw experience here. Robbie is hands down the best phlebotomist Ive ever had- I have small veins and often get light-headed at blood draws but he got the needle in first time, practically painless, and was so friendly and funny. He is an absolute gem of a human being and an incredibly skilled professional. I hate getting my blood drawn when its done by less skilled phlebotomists, but he was so excellent, and I had an absolute blast talking with them, the whole thing was actually an enjoyable experience. Thank you Robbie!

Some reviews amaze me. Reviewers who only give poor reviews or only have 1 or 2 reviews seem to lack validity and cause me to wonder if there are alternative objectives in play? I am not sure.I have been visiting this lab almost every week for well over a year now. The team here had a tough time over the recent past. It seemed like there was huge demand during covid times. Every patient seemed to be stressed out and cranky. I watched the staff take abuse from so many because they did not have the information that the lab needed, yet somehow that was the staff fault.I have been here in busy times and slower times. Not every visit is perfect. However the staff is always calm and professional. The lab services are done with care and kindness. I appreciate their professionalism and patience. They are respectful at all times when I have been there even in the face of unreasonable, cranky and sometimes downright disrespectful consumers.

I was doing a favor for a friend today who needed me to pick a urine collection bottle for her when she couldnt leave home. The intake person at the front desk, I believe his name is Robbie, was incredibly rude to me and when I mentioned it he just said WHATEVER. I work in healthcare and would NEVER treat patients the way I was just treated. Sonora Quest you should really rethink who you put out front for customer service.

Very unprofessional. Worst “bed side manner” I’ve ever experienced from a lab.I’ve had many, many blood draws. I don’t like needles, so I have preferences when getting lab work. Very easy accommodations to do. Gave me a hard time about having a needle phobia. Didn’t listen to me at all. Told them I wanted my blood taken out of my left, made me get it taken out of my right. Saw I had tattoos and gave me a hard time about that. I hope I never have to go here again.

The staff is professional and very good at what they do. I do not appreciate the new appointment system nor the sign in kiosk. I called to make a next day appointment and was told they were booked and I should plan to make that appointment 10 days to 2 weeks out! My doctor requested the blood work be done within a few days! This new system is most definitely not working well for this community. I am betting this is a Corporate decision not a local one. I have not met anyone who has anything positive to say about the new system.

I can see why some people are upset with this place. I like the staff here because they are polite, but I cant stand the company itself because they are not organized and they made it difficult for me to access my results online. I had to wait long periods after verifying my identity to get results, and I never did get them online. I also had an appointment and it took nearly an hour for me to get seen just to do a drug test, though going on a Friday doesnt help either. Honestly wish I could of picked another day, but needed to get the test done asap. The lobby was also full of people and a long line went across the entire lobby. That made it really difficult to social distance from others as well.I dont plan on coming here again. That day was just too stressful and its not worth it.

The computer appointments experience is a total joke with nothing working and the appointment time actually turning out to be meaningless. Better to just go in and pray that the lines are not too long. Once we actually get in to see if phlobotomist the experience over many years has always been mostly pleasant and reasonably pain-free. Forget trying to work with a corporate computer scheduling system; it is a disaster.

The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and unhelpful. She was rude to me and a nice couple that needed help. Valentina would call other people up to the window while I was standing there after I had been called up. If I had questions she did not help me. Just continued to send me away and call me back with no knew information or help. She seemed annoyed to be there and from a healthcare employee she should not be allowed near any type of front desk. Totally unprofessional.

This place is ridiculous, had the first appointment of the day, and they allowed 15 walk ins ahead of me. I don’t understand why they even have appointments if they don’t honor them. If they want to do strictly walk in first come, first serve, then just do that… but don’t allow people to plan their days/work with an appointment and then make them sit for 45 minutes. On a side note, I got to listen to the extraneous rude receptionist chastise each person as they came to the window for different questions they had. So to summarize… inefficient, rude and unhelpful.

I arrived at 6:45 am and there were 15 people in the waiting room. I did not have an appointment, so I signed in and waited. As I waited my number in line dropped to 17 as I watched people with appointments be served ahead of me. The other SonoraQuest locations in town are closed so everyone is being sent to this location. When anyone asks how much longer, they only get attitude from the front desk. I get they are short staffed. I get that we shouldn’t take it out on the people who actually showed up to work. But how is this our problem? SonoraQuest needs to get their s**t together and stop taking it out on folks who have no other option but to come here for tests. I’ve been here now for close to 90 minutes, and I’m still only #7. I’ll be lucky to get out of here in 2 hours. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Unprofessional and zero empathy.

I really appreciated Valentinas painless blood draw. Seamlessly found my vein and I did not feel her switching out the vials. Despite my best efforts to avoid it, I often faint, or get close to fainting, during blood draws and she was so patient with me. She called another tech over to grab me some water and to put a cold rag on my head once she noticed me starting to lose it a little bit. Everyone was so kind and calm in a moment I found embarrassing.

I just dont understand why people give this office such bad reviews. I have been coming here for years and have never had a problem. I was there again today and all of the staff were very friendly and professional. The check in process was seamless. Valentina, the phlebotomist that I had the pleasure of meeting today, was so, so kind, sweet and an ACE at what she does. She is my hero especially having to be there (as the rest of the staff is required to do) in these most distressing and worrisome times called COVID-19. BRAVO to Valentina! I didn’t even want to give 1 star. I get my blood drawn on a somewhat regular basis and have used OTHER Sonora Quest labs before and they all have been great. However after attending the flagstaff location i can guarantee that it will be the last. As soon as i sat down i should have known something was wrong by the way multiple people were acting while they were waiting as well. 2 hours later i found out that they have zero respect for anyones time. I spent over 2 hours waiting just for them to ask for my information and ask if i had a labs sent in. Which if it was me i think i would have looked at that before i had someone sit for over 2hours. Fast forward to the ending i never did get my blood drawn. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking to get blood drawn to look elsewhere and use THIS location as a last resort.

The Cedar Ave location (now closed) was professional and courteous. The San Francisco location was not. The office staff immediately rejected my blood lab paperwork without looking at it, I had to insist that they examine before they allowed me to complete the lab work. They gave me urine sample instructions which the whole waiting area got to enjoy hearing. Then they messed up the lab, requiring me to return a second time to redraw.I return again for a different lab (having made an appointment) and was told that a) I dont have an appointment and b) they dont accept the labwork kit that I had and c) I had the wrong location. I showed them the paperwork showing my appointment, but still no go. I asked for an alternate location and they had no idea.I called the labwork kit company who were surprised that I was refused service since they had been working with this lab for years.Even though its a pain to go to Phoenix, that is where Ill be getting blood work done from now on.3/6/18 update: Thank you Kim for reaching out to discuss the situation. While it appears this will devolve into an I said/they said standstill, I appreciate your concern and willingness to go over the matter.

A lot can be said about service at this particular location. Lab tech I had today was quite good, particularly since I have uncooperative veins. So I finally achieved the purpose of my visit. But satisfaction ends there. Lets start with the annoying and dehumanizing as well as wobbly electronic sign in machines. They are not obviously or conveniently placed and the receptionist who doesnt even look up from her computer to direct patients to sign in stand around a corner from front desk. You sign in, then have to wait. Then you finally are called to hand over your insurance cards and lab order. Are you going to get test now? No! You are sent back to sit down in waiting room. If you try to inform lab tech that you are hypoglycemic, fasting for test, getting sweaty, dizzy and shakey----forget any understanding or concern that you could pass out at any moment. Youre told they do not know how long it will be and to go back and wait patiently. Apparently , SQ employees dont care about hypoglycemics or diabetics and consequences for not knowing if they should leave and come back another day or tough it out. I left and came back this morning. My punishment was phlebotomist handing me a 3 year old bill that had been covered by medicare but mishandled by Sonora Quest. Im in search of another lab in Flagstaff.

After rearranging my whole family schedule in order to be able to come to this lab at early hours (6:15 am), before work, fasting for 12 hours, being there even prior to the appointment time, I was told (after checking in and having my insurance checked) my lab order was never sent from my physician. I called the physicians office once they were open to be told it was indeed sent to Sonora Quest on 08/19, almost a month ago. The receptionist explained she had looked through their orders until back in June and nothing was there. After asked how come this practice doesnt check if everything is set for the next days visits, I was told we leave it to the patient to do that. I was shocked with the answer, but went further asking How can I, as a patient, know if YOU are ready to see me?. It seems like common sense to me that this is the LABs job, not mine. Her simple answer was Youd have to call us and check.. Ok, so here we go: not only I have to make my own appointment online, check in in a kiosk by myself upon arrival, I also have to track my dr, make sure my order has been sent to Sonora Quest, call Sonora Quest and make sure they are ready to do their job? That is not acceptable. I work in the health care field and this is NOT how patients should be treated. Whats next? Are they handing me a needle, syringe and a vial so I can extract my blood too??

So one thing Ive learned in life is that if someone says he is good at something, hes probably not. The phlebotomist said he was good and ended up not being so good. To begin with, instead of calming my daughter, he kept doing and saying things that were more excitable, almost like building up suspense for it. He had to keep moving the needle on my poor little girl, which, of course, was painful for her. She cried more than she ever has for a blood draw or immunization--for her last 4 she didnt cry a bit. However, this time, it was much more painful for her. He had to use me and another person to hold her, which weve never had to do before--quite traumatic for someone so young. All of this was after we had to wait quite awhile in the lab room where there was nothing to occupy a small child.
