I was so impressed with the office staff. As a new patient, they noted my time frame and called me when there was a cancellation. Jamie Huppmann, the NP was absolutely wonderful. She was thorough, listened to my concerns and answered every question without ever appearing rushed or short. I will always recommend this practice.
This review is specifically for Dr. Malik. She may be new to the practice, but her professionalism and bedside manners made a difference in a stressful situation. I gave birth on July 10, and I had a health scare days after giving birth that could have turned out differently, but her thoroughness gave me hope and comfort because I knew she truly cared about my well-being. She did not deliver my baby because she was not on call, but if I had a choice, I would have let her deliver my baby. Thank you, Dr. Malik, and keep being an excellent provider.
Nurses and nurse practitioners are extremely pushy and continually put pressure for non-required things. As a young patient who has a mother who has gone to this practice for years it seems they take advantage of my age and insist that I need to have different exams and tests done, but when asked about it by my mother they denied everything and said they simply asked if I wanted these exams. This has now happened at two separate appointments and is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable.
I used to attend this practice 5 years ago, and at first had fine overall experiences. The last few months I have attempted to reach out via phone call (twice) and online scheduling (once) over the course of over a month. My IUD is expired and I’ve had to totally move to a different location. When I filled out a paper to request the info be sent to my new provider, no one informed me that it would only be sent on a patient portal that I was never sent a link to access until after I came in person to address the issue, and I had to pay 75 cents per page for my previous patient history to be printed for the next doctor.I normally don’t bother leaving negative reviews for places that I used to have subpar experiences in, but this staffing is horrendous and I do not recommend relying on them for treatments based on how little communication goes on within their team. Quite a disappointment.
I am a long time patient of Capital Woman’s Care - having delivered 5 babies under the care here, with 4 children earthside. (I had the unfortunate experience of delivering a little one stillborn, and Linda Follette was with me through the good and bad, to support me.) This office has the professional and well qualified staff to give you the support you need medically, and personally - through the many aspects of pregnancy and delivery. I am so fortunate to have had the support I received here! Linda and team were wonderful! The other nurses, Laura and Jaime too (new staff member) - have been awesome as well. The techs, doctors, admin staff, and even billing - all a great team. Love their new spacious and easily accessible office now in Maple Lawn too. Highly recommend!
Annual well visit exam has been always fully covered for me by any insurance plans I have had over the years. This practice has recently found a way to sneak in some charge. I am very surprised and disappointed. It was a total surprise charge. They have recently started charging $75 extra for the typical annual pelvic exam, which has been always covered as part of the annual check up.I am very disappointed that they found a way to sneak in some charge. Will definitely look for another practice.
This place is very nice to be in and clean, and the people who work there are wonderful and kind. I am just a girl trying to get her annual wellness visit, and despite the unpleasantness of the Pap smear process, Linda Follette always makes the whole experience as pleasant as possible. She is very engaged in discussing my health and any of my concerns and is someone whom, if anything serious does come up, I know would communicate it to me empathetically, clearly, and candidly.
Although everyone was extremely friendly, my provider (Jamie NP) had zero knowledge of hormone replacement or perimenopause treatments. When I stated symptoms including heart palpitations, fatigue, and weight gain, she said gave some basic dietary advice about aging and carbohydrates and insulin resistance … I’m an exercise physiologist; I wont comment on the misinformation I was provided. She then encouraged lipotropic shots from the med spa (which doesn’t have clinical studies to support effectiveness) I’m not sure how you are a women’s health provider and cannot have baseline knowledge on this matter. She was very kind, she did state I may want to work with a different provider for HRT and perimenopause, but the appointment was a waste of time.
Honestly the worst, most traumatizing experience Ive had at a doctors office. Dr. Davis performed a hysterosonogram to find the cause of excessive bleeding. The procedure was extremely painful, and I was not warned to take any pain medication or to have someone accompany me. I was in so much pain that I almost fainted, and was sweating so much that a nurse pointed a fan at me. Dr. Davis did not stop the procedure, even though I told them through tears I wanted to, instead he was so dismissive and told me that It shouldnt hurt. He then said that its probably because I was on my period - which he knew ahead of time and still did the procedure.I have sexual trauma in my past and this experience brought me right back to feeling vulnerable, helpless and scared when I was coming to Dr. Davis for help.Dr. Davis - I truly hope that you read this and think about how you treat people in your care. It matters.
Great practice! Beautiful office, professional and kind staff, in and out in under an hour with annual exam and mammogram in one stop! Highly recommend!
I had a medical concern yesterday. I called and got an appt, imaging, and results the same day. They gave me peace of mind! The staff is always so kind and professional.
I gave birth to my daughter 18 months ago and went through CWC in Fulton. I loved the nurse practitioners (huge shoutout to Linda Follette who was soooo sweet and kind!) but I was NOT a fan of the OBs that were available at the time, particularly Jean who was my assigned OB. She rushed our appointments, was very curt, and rough with her cervix checks (whereas Linda was very gentle). More on why my experience with her was not great below.I have heard great things about Dr. Dana Baras though (that she is patient and will do what she can to avoid a c-section).Pros- Finance office is great to work with and kind- Nurses genuinely care about you (esp Linda)- I had a subchorionic hemorrhage and they were able to get me ultrasounds asap and twice to check in on babyCons- I didnt get to meet all the OBs and they didnt make an effort to let that happen. I only saw three (Jean, Suzanne, and Urenna. Seems Suzanne and Urenna arent at the clinic anymore).Delivery experience:1. Jean forced Pitocin on me when I was 4cm dilated. I told her i wanted to continue my labor at home but she said no (my best friend recently delivered her baby in Florida and asked her doc, when she was 4cm dilated, if she could wait it out and the doc allowed her!).2. About 30-45 min after being induced with pitocin, my babys heartbeat started getting irregular and dipping (but there was no indication before that of anything going wrong). I was told to position myself to the side so I changed sides on my own and Jean simply watched (whereas Dana will actually position you for you (my sister in law just delivered with her)). At that point, Jean just called the shots and had me undergo an emergency c-section. Days after the baby was delivered, her explanation for why the c-section happened was because its possible baby was doing a final victory dance. That made no sense to me. I really feel like the emergency c-section couldve been avoided if I wasnt rushed by Jean and forced to take in pitocin (side effect of which is reduced heart rates for babies).Post Labor- CWC told me its a good idea to get a genetic cancer screening and said that in order for my insurance to fully cover the cost of the test I needed to do a quick counseling session with InformedDNA and that this session wouldnt be charged. That was a complete lie. I had to pay $200 out of pocket for a 15 min session that couldve been avoided by being given a questionnaire.I honestly dont know if Ill go with CWC for my next pregnancy but if I do, I will ONLY go under the condition that Dana Baras is my OB and I will most certainly hire a doula to be present. On my experience at Howard County General Hospital (in case its helpful to know):- the nurses and lactation consultants are all so different; i found that the younger ones were so much more kind. the much older ones were quite curt and rude :/- we were gifted a haaka milk collector literally on our way out the door but then i found a charge for it on my bill (for 3x the price of what it was at Target).- if you have issues with your billing, talk to the escalation team. They are amazing and surprisingly nice.
I was a new patient today and had a great experience. All of the staff are happy and pleasant and Jamie was a great provider as well. It couldnt have been better.
I’m only giving this place one star because it won’t allow me to give zero. As the saying goes, “there’s a first time for everything”. My daughter is 4 months pregnant with her first child and wanted to change her OBGYN to someone closer to work and home. She talked to her PCP for recommendations and her doctor raved about Capitol Women’s Care in Fulton, MD. My daughter reached out to them and was initially told that they may not be taking any new patients but someone would get back to her and let her know. This was our first red flag but she waited to hear back from them. Several days had passed and my daughter had not heard back from them so I suggested that she call. My daughter called and spoke to Nurse Stephanie. Nurse Stephanie said she needed to check my daughter’s chart before making a decision. She later informed her that their office could not accommodate her because of her size. This news was not only a surprise to my daughter but humiliating as well. I called back to speak to Nurse Stephanie’s Manager (Ms. Alicia) about the way this information was communicated to my daughter. I explained to her that it was hurtful and humiliating. Ms. Alicia said she would review my daughter’s chart and reach out to her. She did get back in touch with her but only to confirm what Nurse Stephanie has already stated. I just wanted to write this review because it is very disappointing that a young pregnant woman, who is already dealing with her hormones being out of whack, and dealing with uncontrollable weight gain due to her pregnancy, would be turned away because of her weight. It saddens me that she had to deal with type of discrimination at all but especially during such a delicate time. My daughter weighs in the high 200’s so if you are anything more than that, don’t even waste your time. I guess this office has an image to uphold so they are selective in the patients that they accept. I have also informed my daughter’s PCP about this interaction so that she is selective of who she recommends to this location. It hurts me to see my daughter hurt the way that she is. I pray no one else has to deal with this type of humiliation especially during a time that is supposed to be a joyous occasion!
I have been coming here for a little over a year and have never had any issues with staff, scheduling etc. Everyone that I encountered were very professional. Lisa is the absolute BEST sonographer!!! She explains everything in great detail AND makes you feel super comfortable the entire experience (have had her twice for testing). Dr. Hunley is amazing and Ive seen Linda, NP in the past as well and had a great experience. Absolutely NO COMPLAINTS with this office. Highly recommend for womens health!!!
My past two experiences here have been poor, but yesterdays appointment that I had resulted in me leaving in tears, and changing OBGYNs.I have seen multiple doctors at this practice, most recently being Linda Folette. I came in for having an absent period after a year of being off birth control.I came into this appointment, and it was all of 5 minutes. Here is how it went: she came in, told me I probably have PCOS, said you might need help getting pregnant, didnt elaborate at all. I asked what to do as a preventative measure and for optimizing fertility, and she said I dont know, maybe lose 15 lbs, but you dont want to have kids right now so dont worry about it.She then just got up and opened the door to leave - no chance to ask other questions. As a 25 year old who is very adamant about optimizing fertility, I just left crying. Im switching practices now, I wouldnt recommend this practice.
I had terrible and unforgettable experience with this office in Maple Lawn. I had an abdominal abnormalcy and called to schedule an appointment. The front desk coldly told me that I had to wait more than a month, regardless my explanation of the abnormalcy. I was forced to go to Patient First because waiting for more than a month would be ridiculous. The doctor in Patient First ordered a CT Scan for me and I did (which I actually didnt need; I only needed to have a Ultrasound). It turned out that there are two cystic mass in my pelvic area, one is already 10cm big! My husband went to the Maple Lawn office to drop the CT result and scheduled an Ultra-sound in the office. More than a week later, when I was seeing my doctor, I was surprised to know that she had never received the CT result! The front office couldnt find it when I asked them what was going on!More frustrating fact is: I just had an annual check in July and my doctor (Dr. R) didnt say anything about the big mass. The surgeon who is going to do the surgery checked my previous Ultra-sounds and told me that the mass was already there back in 2021, yet my doctor in that Maple Lawn office had never mentioned it to me!How could the doctor and the front office staff treat a patient like this!
I made an appointment 2 months ago. Check in time was 8:45. My appointment was at 9:00. They give a grace period of 15min. I was running 15min. Lare thought I would be ok. They told me check in was at 8:45 so my grace period was until 9:00. That is not a grace period. I went all the way their I reiterated that my Plointmebt was at 9:00. They told me because ai was a new patient They could not take me. I have been going to Womens capital Carw for years- just a different location. I had a 30min appointment and the next patent wasalready taken back. I was so upset.
Every doctor, NP, front desk staff, nurse are incredible. I had a lot of pregnancy anxiety and every person made me feel supported. Every doctor during my labor was incredible. I had hypertension after my C section and they all supported and took incredible care of me. I could never trust any other place.
Dr Baras is very compassionate and understanding. She even held my baby during my annual exam! She gives you the facts and lets you decide on your own time when possible. I always try to schedule my next appt with her.
I have been to different Capital Womens Care facilities in the PG County/Howard County area and am impressed with the customer service, kind staff, and welcoming environment at this facility specifically.Dr. Christine Richards is my gynecologist and is very kind, understanding, and listens patiently to any concerns. The front desk staff here are friendly. Making an appointment is easy and the patient portal is a convenient way to access medical records.Even in the midst of the pandemic, patient and staff safety is of an utmost concern and is apparent. Would highly recommend this practice if you are in need of OB/GYN care.
Edit to my original review because thanks to Diana the supervisor and the radiologist there I got the help I needed. The individual staff are all good- doing their job well but the systems I mentioned below could be improved. I hope they take my review in the right spirit and makes these changes.****Dr. Pilevsky and her nurse were great 5 stars. My dissatisfaction is related CWC operations.1. patient self check in kiosk is long and complicated when staff is sitting right there and could do the same for you in 1 minute. The previous check-in experience was much better.2. Too many questions on the forms to fill out after check in. It is questions a nurse should be asking the patient and a lot of that information is already in my records as a returning patient.3. CWC phone system message is very long and the options do not give you a choice to reach a front desk person. After pressing an option you usually reach voicemail and you have to leave a message which does not get answered. It is an extremely frustrating system and makes me want to find a different care provider.4. My worst experience was trying to get a CD of my mammo and priors right after the exam. There were no other patients in the mammo waiting area still I was told the mammo tech Patricia is busy and can only burn my CD at the end of day. When I called towards end of day - after many struggles with the phone system and trying to reach a person, I was told that she will burn my disk once the radiologist finalizes my report. Why? what does the report have to do with burning a CD with my images. I was told by gabby in records someone will call me next day when disk is ready for pick up. I waited all day but did not get a phone call. I called and left a voicemail but no answer. Finally I picked the scheduling option in phone just so someone would answer! this person although helpful told me that mammo tech did not come in today so disk is not ready for pick up. No other place has this kind of issues. it does not need a tech to burn a disk- any administrative staff should be able to do it. Why didnt the mammo tech burn the CD same day?5. I asked them whether instead of burning a CD the images are accessible online which is the norm in most places. But I was told no. In this day and age burning CDs is archaic and should not be necessary for a patient to access their images6. The next MD patient portal is glitchy. When I tried to login the day after my appointment- it kept saying that I was logged into another browser and needed to sign out or click a certain link. I was NOT signed in anywhere else and the link just kept bringing me to the same login page. There was no HELP option again to contact anyone to tell them about the problem. So No patient portal to see my results. No easy to way to reach a staff to get my results.Again in spite of Dr. Pilevsky and the nursing staff being great, I am frustrated with the technical issues created by CWC to the extent that I do not recommend or plan to continue here as a patient.
The office was quick with appointments and bringing you back (most of the time) but I don’t think all the Doctors communicate amongst one another. They provide separate advice and the care you receive is based specifically on that days Doctor. During my pregnancy, I received a lot of contradicting advice and treatment because of the lack of communication. Overall, a decent practice but the Doctor’s care varies - just something to keep in mind. If you have a bad visit with one doctor, it is likely you will have a great visit the next time you go and see someone different!
I am absolutely thrilled to share my extraordinary experience with CWC and specifically Dr. Abdelazim, whose exceptional care during the delivery of my child left an indelible mark on my heart. From my previous yearly check ups to my whole pregnancy journey I felt an immense sense of comfort knowing that I was under the care of a highly skilled professional. Dr. Abdelazim’s warm and caring demeanor immediately put me at ease, fostering an environment of trust and support. She attentively listened to my concerns and provided unwavering encouragement throughout the entire Journey.I must also extend my heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff working alongside Dr. Abdelazim. Their support and professionalism contributed significantly to my overall experience.
Would give them 0 stars if I could. Despite bleeding and other symptoms, they failed to catch an ectopic pregnancy (after two ultrasounds). It ruptured two weeks later and nearly killed me. I was throwing up, fainting, and had to be rushed to the hospital. I couldn’t move, it hurt to breathe, and I had three pounds of blood in me from the internal bleeding. The doctor they called in to perform emergency surgery over the weekend (so I wouldn’t, you know, die) had an attitude and was cold, as if I was inconveniencing her by almost dying (due to their mistake) at an inconvenient time. I didn’t know doctors and offices could be so terrible until this one. If you want to have any level of decent care, or even just kindness when you’re possibly about to die, go elsewhere. I deserved better and so do you.
I’ve been coming here since I was 15years old. I absolutely love this office! The staff are extremely kind and professional. They are quick to help me and answer any questions I have. I especially love working with Dr. Laura Burnham! She is absolutely spectacular and always takes the time to listen to all of my concerns in detail and give me the best care possible! I appreciate everyone at this office so much. Thank you and I recommend 100%
It was my first time meeting Jamie Huppman, WHNP. I had my Womens annual and she is lovely and through and have a seemless Pap smear. I don’t like to get them and she made it easy and I didn’t feel so uncomfortable. I asked her to show me how to do my own self breast exam at home and she was happy to and she showed me in a way I was able to understand what to look for and exactly how to do it. I recommend giving her a try!
What I love about Capital Womens Care is the staff. They are always friendly and just a joy to see. They are always welcoming and truly treat me like Im their favorite patient in the world. Im not just processed there. I get a hearty and warm greeting anytime I come in or call! The only cons I have experienced is that 2-3 doctors basically dismissed an issue that I was having. I mean they completed all preliminary reviews such as Sonogram and physical evaluation, but allowed it to stop there, although my health complaint was still present. I have finally received some type of answer that I will actually find out more about today at my follow up visit. Overall, they are a great practice that I have been pleased with over the last 8 years.
Overall not a great experience. Have gone through half my pregnancy with capital women’s in Fulton and not happy.Firstly, this is my first pregnancy and I did not feel like they really helped me feel fully informed about pregnancy, labor, appointment expectations, etc. No compassion or support during a time of anxiety and uncertainty. I just felt so lost at the beginning of my pregnancy. I felt like they treated me as a number and not a person.Secondly, they have lost not 1, but 2 urine samples I’ve left, which forced me to have to leave work to come in again each time to leave another sample. I also was having issues with uti and to have to wait 2+ weeks to get results for a urine test is honestly negligent. I could have had a serious issue that required immediate attention. Thankfully i didn’t but i will not be returning.
I would highly recommend this practice. I went in for a well woman visit and mammogram about a week ago. Although they couldn’t fit me for consecutive times I was okay with going back. I saw Dr. Hubbard and can honestly say she made me feel at ease and was very kind. I told her about some pain I was feeling and they got me in for an ultrasound that same day. The mammogram tech was awesome. The front office staff were all lovely and very responsive. I just felt I needed to write this review because my experience was completely opposite of all the negative reviews I read.
Staff is extremely rude. When I come excited for my pregnancy appointments they never fail to ruin it for me with their nasty attitudes. What could be brief and pleasant encounters always turns out to be terrible. The doctors and nurse practitioners are all wonderful and make you feel comfortable. The front desk staff who does appointments is the only one who actually smiles at patients and is extremely helpful. However the front desk staff before and after your appointment will always make you feel unwelcome, this is no matter how nice you are to them. I can never get out of there quick enough.Unfortunately they have ruined many of my appointment experiences throughout my pregnancy and I cannot wait to never use this location again. If you guys hate your jobs so much find somewhere else to work. Stop ruining the days of happy people just because you are so miserable. And stop making the doctors who actually care about the patients look bad with your nasty attitudes. Its terrible the office has to get bad reviews because of the front desk.
I am 24 weeks pregnant and about to find a new practice. Had an appointment yesterday and went to schedule my next one at the front desk (as I have done at every appointment previously) only to be told that I had to call the scheduling team. The problem is, no one answers the phone. Ive left a message and still havent heard back. I should not have to waste my time continuing to call to try to schedule an appointment. If my hair stylist can schedule my next appointment at my current one, I would think a doctors office would also be able to figure it out. If I cant even get an appointment scheduled, how am I supposed to have confidence that this practice cares at all about me or my pregnancy?
This practice is amazing so far! Im a fairly new patient but my experiences have been wonderful so far. All the front desk women have been friendly and really helpful, the nurses, lab tech and ultrasound tech I had were amazing, and the office itself is beautiful. I see Dr. Richards and shes great! Really nice and helpful. Love this practice!
I have been a patient of Dr. Marvin Davis for over a year now and have been very satisfied with the care I have received. The office staff have always been friendly and professional. The wait times are about average for what I would expect from any medical office. Dr. Davis is friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable in his field. I appreciate the time he takes to answer my questions and address concerns I may have, doing so with an assuring confidence that comes from years of experience.
I have been going to Capital Womens Care for more than 10 years. Their office is professional yet warm and welcoming. My questions and concerns are always addressed. I love ALL of the staff but Dr. Pilevsky is my #1! I dont think anyone looks forward to their annual visit but she is hilarious, and wonderful. I cant recommend this practice enough!
This place leaves everything to be desired. The doctor who I saw twice came to each appointment completely unprepared. She didn’t read any of my history or test reports carefully, and always made me feel like something is wrong. Pregnancy is a stressful situation as is, and a little bit of reassurance can go a long way but it is too much to ask from this practice. Their online portal is the worst. I had to make 6 calls to get a single report and still they couldn’t get it to upload on the portal. The only saving grace might be the nurse practitioners here. They are kind and knowledgeable. My experience was so bad that I decided to switch halfway through.
I recommend this office for anyone! From the moment you walk in there is an absolute professionalism and efficiency by each team member !Doctors are knowledgeable , patient centered and efficient !Office assistants address each patient need timely !I am super grateful for my prenatal appointment and afterwords!
I have been going here (along with my two older sisters) for years. We didnt know of any other good practices around and it seems like the practice just keeps getting worse. One of my sisters went in with symptoms and the practitioner actually told her to look up the symptoms on MayoClinic... as she was sitting in front of her. My other sister and I have consistently poor experiences with the receptionist at the front, Jane. I also have complained about their policy of mailing your exam results, meaning they wont be received for over a week, and anyone in the house can view them. There is also no confirmation that you received the results and understand them.
Dr. Nicole Pivlesky is very attentive to your visits. I have been a patient for many years and she has helped me with numerous issues. She listens, does not judge, and gives sound medical advice and treatment. Will always recommend her and she has a great bed side manner too.
The providers here were dismissive during the entire length of my pregnancy and did not listen to any of my concerns. As a first time mom, you dont know what you dont know and these doctors were the least helpful. I was prescribed unnecessary antibiotics and no explanation could be provided. These doctors caused extreme emotional distress throughout my pregnancy and during labor. Would absolutely not recommend.
I had a horrible experience. I visited with Dr. Christine Richards. I went for my first pap smear and she judged me for bringing my mom with me. Dr. Richards was passive-aggressive and made me feel uncomfortable. The pap smear and pelvic exam were so painful — I ended up with bruises on my stomach because the doctor was pressing so hard on my stomach. I was in pain the rest of the day.My mom complained because she was shocked at how we were treated, and I received a phone call asking if I wanted to speak to the manager. I said I did, but never heard anything back after that.
The check in process so easy! The office, beautiful. Dr Davis is amazing! Great bedside care. What sucks about this office is sitting around waiting. They consistently run behind and clearly over book appointments. So if you dont mind wasting your life in a nice waiting room this is the practice for you!
Great location, with ample parking. Office is large, with plenty of seating. The front desk staff is friendly.Dr. Esposito is a great doctor. He always makes me feel at ease. I can easily share concerns about my health and ask questions about any womanly changes. He takes the time to explain what is going on with my health now and what I can expect in the future (menopause). Always a good experience a Capital Womens Care.
The Office is great. Dr. Hundley is a wonderful physician and she takes the extra mile to make sure you as a patient is okay. If I had any questions she would always answer them and you did not feel like you dont matter. I have also been seen by several other physicians here and they were great a very professional. I plan on being at the office for a long time.
Jamie, the NP, is AMAZING! She makes me feel comfortable and advocated for whenever I see her for my annual well-woman visit. Grateful for her ❤️
I have been going to Dr. Pilevsky for several years and find her to be an excellent doctor with a great bedside manner. She listens to any issues I have been experiencing and is proactive to address them or test further to rule out anything bad. She knows my history with breast cancer and inquires about issues I may be experiencing. I really appreciate how she looks at the big picture and trust her recommendations for staying healthy.
The worst doctors office experience I’ve ever had. The lack of communication to the patients in regards to what’s going on is just unbelievable. My prescription was sent to the pharmacy and no one ever contacted me to let me know that the prescription has been sent. I had to contact the pharmacy to see if it was there, the prescription had been there for almost a week and I had no knowledge that it was even sent over. The week before my appointment I contacted the doctors office to let them know that the insurance that was on file for me is no longer active and my new insurance on my husband‘s plan would not kick in until a week or two later, the girl on the phone told me everything was good to go and I should just come in and everything would be ready. When I got to the doctors office the day of I told that I had to pay $1300+ out-of-pocket. The nonchalant response I got from the girl I was speaking with and her inability to comprehend the information that was being given to her was just the icing on the cake for me I would 10 out of 10 NOT recommend this office.
Best experience ever! Everyone is so caring and warm! I always feel comfortable and most importantly taken seriously for whatever concerns I have, either about me or my pregnancy! Always a pleasure dealing with Dr. Hundley. She took great care of me on both of my pregnancies and I am forever grateful to her!
I had been seeing Dr. OConnor, whom I liked, but she left with no warning, and I was switched to Dr. Seavey. (Who seems knowledgeable and professional, and whom I like, but it wouldve been nice to know the doctor I had been seeing had left the practice.)Staff is unhelpful and patronizing. I called and left two voicemails within a week and never heard back within the promised 24-48 hours. When I finally got hold of a real person (a week later), she was rude, unhelpful, and made me feel like an idiot.Appointments never start on time, even though I arrive at least 10 minutes early to each one.The new electronic check-in system is not only extremely redundant, but it also leaves the desk staff free to gossip to one another while a line of people wait to check in.I am searching for a new practice for my OB/GYN needs.
This is my first experience with an OB- and I regret just following my Dr.s recommendation. I shouldve done my own research instead of assuming that theyd be decent. The staff here is extremely rude and lacks flexibility. They expect you to come in on their time rather than working with you to find an appointment. They clearly have more patients than they can handle. never had an issue with the physicians but the lack of respect that I receive at the front desk every single time is appalling. Also learn how to pronounce your patients names right and speak in a lower tone instead of shouting out peoples CONFIDENTIAL business.
I have been seeing Dr. Pilevsky for a very long time. She always greets me with a smile and is always very thorough and pleasant. She will take as much time as I need and will answer any and all of my questions. She will also make sure that if I need something further checked, that it is completed in a timely fashion. Only good things to say about this practice. Thank you for making what could have been a few stressful times in my life, not worrisome at all!!
Dr. Nicole Pilevsky is THE best! I have been her patient for about 18 years now and absolutely love her! She always takes the time to explain things to me in layman’s terms so that I can understand. I always feel like she genuinely cares about my health and well being.
As a new patient I had to wait over 2 months to get an appointment. I could not remember being told that I had to come in 20 mins before my appointment time. My appointment was at May 23 @ 3:45pm. I got to the building at 3:55pm. It took me a while to check in because other patients were checking in. When I checked in it the computer said 4:01 you are late for your appointment. See the front desk. The receptionist said I had to rescheduled. She tried to reschedule from my appt. 5/23/2022 BUT there was not appt. available in the system for JUNE or JULY and August appts are not yet open. So as a new patient I have to bear the pain and discomfort Im going thorough. Where is the customer service here??!! I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Overall, I have been very happy with my level of care at this facility. However, I have one major complaint. The office runs a humidifier that has a strong orange scent. I assume it is essential oils. The office is in the basement and there is no airflow meaning the smell lingers heavily. I get scent related migraines and suffer signficantly after my visits. This is a new item they have had since Christmas. If it was there on my first visit I would not have continued with the practice, but it is now to late to switch. I have filed several complaints with the front desk, appointment line, and corporate. The problem has not been resolved. I want the item removed from the office. They need to understand that people visiting medical facilities may have strong allergies, asthma, or pregnancy related scent sensitivies and that running such a device can be detrimental to the health of their patients.
Captial Womens Care has provided me with the best care for several years now! I saw all of their OB doctors throughout my pregnancy and Dr. Esposito was amazing for my delivery.I recently went in for my annual pap and had an issue I needed to discuss. I saw Dr. Christine Richards and she took extra time and special care to discuss my concerns with me. She and the nurses followed up and made sure I was aware of all of my test results, which thankfully, came back NORMAL!Thank you again to the entire CWC staff =)
My wife chose Capital Womens Care in Fulton for our OB experience with her pregnancy as well as for our primary OB care. When youre pregnant, you have to see your OB many times. We requested Dr. Seavey, but we never ended up getting an experience with her because I guess she is too busy with other clients and pretty much only sees people for emergency visits and initial consultations. Dr. OConnor ended up delivering our preemie - at the hospital OConnor and Esposito were between shifts. One believes in the steroid shot to help develop the lungs faster and the other didnt. Because the other didnt, our daughter only got 1 shot (she was born at 33 weeks exactly and 3 and 1/2 lbs). Fortunately she did get the one dose because she hasnt had any lung issues thus far and is doing well. When going back to the practice post-birth we found our Dr. OConnor (who delivered our daughter and who we liked) was no longer there... no reason why, no communication about it...nothing ...Also if you choose this practice, you will NEVER be seen on time. Their staff, though friendly, has zero respect for your time. I would pass it off as acceptable if it happened only a few times, but every single appointment weve ever had at this practice was never kept. We would not be seen until 45 minutes + after the scheduled time. One appointment for the gender reveal that my mother took time to attend, they lost track of! I guess they were in between systems, and fortunately the one staff member rescheduled it for 3 hours later in that afternoon so my mother could still be apart of it. If you have 3 hours to be there for an annual exam that should take no more than an hour in and out, then enjoy your stay in the lobby, but I value my time a little more than that. This place really needs to get it together with their scheduling. If they didnt have such an issue with it then I probably wouldve given a 4 star rating.
Im going to be as brief as possible because theyve wasted already a significant amount of my time.1-HIPPA concerns, lack of privacy and an adequate way to make an appointment at the front desk with out having to disclose personal information.2-Incorrect diagnosis and recommendations from Dr. Hubbard. The U/S tech said I had a condition, placenta previa. I asked Dr. Hubbard what she thought about it and she said it was too early to diagnose, all I said in response was that the tech told me thats what I had and then she goes and agrees with the tech instead of giving me her assessment. Based on what a tech said she made recommendations. 1 week later I see Maryland Perinatal Associates and both the tech and the doctor there told me it was to early to diagnose and the placenta was not completely covering the cervix anyway.3-Ultrasound appointment for a nodule in my breast rescheduled 30 minutes before my appointment. I had no idea. I got there, checked in, paid a co-pay and waited 40 minutes until I went to the front desk to ask them again about my appointment, at which time, with a poor attitude, the woman at the front desk told me I was notified about the appointment being cancelled by phone when I was not. The only missed call I got was 30 minutes before the appointment, while I was finishing at Maryland Perinatal Associates, an appointment CWC was already aware of as they referred me there. Well see if they refund me my co-pay for an appointment that did not happen.I wouldnt recommend the Fulton location. Im going to try one of their other offices so well see... good luck
Great front desk and nursing staff and a well laid out office, HOWEVER Dr. Davis was indifferent, cold and clinical. He didnt make me feel at ease and I felt I had little control of my medical care. I also felt judged and dejected. I will NOT be returning to this practice again. I sought help else where that same week, where I recieved the medical knowledge, treatment and compassion I was looking for.
I was referred by a friend back in 2002 to Dr. Christine Richards, and I never looked back ... Along with Dr. Davis and Dr. Pulevski, they were more than amazing through both of my sons pregnancies and births, and the two unfortunate losses I had in between. Their professionalism and knowledge paired with their compassion is second to none. Everyone who works in their office is just as sweet and caring as they are. I will always refer my friends and family to this practice, and myself, I will never go anywhere else.
I saw Jamie for my yearly exam and she was very kind and made the experience as comfortable as possible. I will definitely return for any future needs
Ive been going to Capital Womens Care for the last 6 years and I love them! The staff is super helpful and friendly. They answer all of my questions and make sure you have all the information that you need. Ive loved everyone that Ive interacted with and would highly recommend them!
The front desk is awful. They are rude and have zero communication skills. They sent my bill to collections without telling me after I called over 15 times over a 3 month span telling them that the online payment system wouldnt take my payments anymore. Instead of helping me they always sent me to some voicemail system and I never received a call back. I had the money to pay it a simple phone call or letter in the mail could have saved my credit and a client. I will never recommend this place they have 2 decent doctors but they arent worth going through the awful people at the front desk.
Dr. Hundley has the best bedside manner. She is patient, thorough and a great listener. I will continue to recommend others to her and Capital Women’s Care because I always have a pleasant visit.
Ive been a patient of Dr Chaiken for many, many years. I highly recommend him. He is caring and gentle and has a great sense of humor. He really has concern for his patients and their needs. The entire staff is professional and helpful as well
Horrible front desk personnel. I called to get the status of my STD form and one person told me that it was faxed to my company. I called my company to verify and I was told that it wasnt received. I called Capital Womens Care office again and spoke to another lady who told me that the form was never faxed over and that it will take 5 to 7 business days to complete it. REALLY?? inconsistent information and no process to help speed it up. My due date is in 5 business days so the form will be USELESS after that. Did I forget to mention that the front desk lady hung up on me?? The front desk staff is horrible! The only reason why I havent left is because the Nurse Ms. Linda and Dr. Huntley do an amazing job, and I have been seeing them for many years in their old practice Womankind.
So Far I am not impressed at all with this location. The providers make you wait you 30 mins then only see you for about 2 mins and thats it. I was there today for an appointment and one of the ladies at the front desk sent me to the NP office when I was suppose to see Dr. Hunley. They made me wait at the NP office only to be sent back to see Dr. Hunley. Its like they have no regard for your time.Every time I walk out of the office I never feel confident about the OB care I received. I am currently looking to move to another office hopefully it is not too late.
Love Dr Davis . He deliver me when I was little and he has been to my go to for everything . He is wonderful my mom recommended him to me and I will never go to anyone else . Amazing bed side manors. Let me tell you the staff is amazing too very sweet and kind love everyone there nothing but smiling faces when you walk in the door . ❤️
I just want to shout to Coleen, hope I spelt it right. She was awesome on the phone and in person.First time to CWC this Wednesday and she was excellent. Dr. Davis was awesome. I was skeptical about Male gynecologist cos I always have female. But he was awesome. His assistant need to step up though, seems her mind is far away.
Shout out to the awesome staff!!Especially my provider, Linda Follette, CRNPNurse PractitionerShe is kind, gentle, a good listener, genuine, and a real hoot. I have referred my family and friends. I’m sure all the providers are great.... but I am #blessed to be under the care of Linda :)Maple Lawn location is perfect and close to home!God bless you and thank you for your service and dedication!!!!
I am happy Dr. Chaiken joined Capital Womens Care. I have been going to him for my yearly check up for over 10 years. The office staff are frienly and the waiting room is large and comfortable.
I have been going to Capital Womens Care for several years. I usually see a nurse practitioner, and she is very kind and knowledgeable and always makes me feel comfortable. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for an ob/gyn in the Howard County area.
I am patient from WOMAN KIND Women health and my record went to CAPITAL WOMEN HEALTH WITH MY PROVIDER!!!! I called to schedule an appointment and the schedulers was very rude nasty and disrespectful!!! Yes the woman hung up on me!!!!!! (Caucasian ) SO RUDE I REFUSE TO RETURN!!!! This office is located in Fulton and I live in CATONSVILLE! I was willing to follow my provider but no thank you!!!! Later to learn that my provider movers to MT AIRY!!! If I could see the schedulers through the phone, I would chock her ass
As a guy if you partake in a significant others visit, I suggest requesting 3-4x your expected visit length from work. They are routinely running behind. Ive had three visits where the doctor and/or sonographer were more than an hour and a half late ( to work )...but the doctors and nurses are amazing. Credit where credit is due -- and the only reason Im commenting on an OBGYN -- the doctors have made us feel safe and comforted during child birth and pre-birth.
Scare tactics, billing errors and I believe HIPPA Violation. PLEASE READ. Your care is determined by the Doctors. Their techs and staff are better than the doctors. They actually have the patients best interest in keep you well informed. Doctors arent very involved in your care and kind of work in the background. I accidentally walked out b/c I had no idea I was suppose to see the doctor since that rarely happens and the doctor called me pressuring me into scheduling an appointment and that it was urgent b/c my babys anatomy scan showed fibroid on the brain; which I was told my the tech(and google) that this is very common to see in early development and that they eventually go away as the baby develops. Its not preventative either, so I didnt see the use in scheduling an appointment immediately, so I decided to see the doctor next visit to discuss. To my surprise the doctor that was so concerned didnt even come in to see me, I just saw the nurse practitioner. I decided that day I was switching practices since I refuse to deal with scare tactics. Also, their medical billing dept sucks. My husband and I are fighting a $1,000+ bill that was their error. This isnt the first medical billing error. I would never recommend this place. One more thing, they told me when transferring my records that they could not transfer records that were not under their care and they did anyway. I believe this is a HIPPA violation.
Dr. Richards is professional, knowledgeable and kind and has many years experience. She is patient and has a great bedside manner. She takes her time to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
After the miscommunication with the front desk supervisor, I got a call from Becky (The manager). She was very nice and resolved the issue and apologized for the misunderstanding. Becky gets 5 stars for her professionalism and her great customer service!
Dr. Davis is cruel - laughed at me and said I was overreacting to the physical pain of a miscarriage and most women handle it fine. Told me to try a heating pad. Literally. Also, theyve partnered with some plastic surgery group and now when you go to appointments you get offered wrinkle treatments and body scuplting on the computer checkin screen. Sure, prey on pregnant and postpartum women, thats definitely good medical practice.
Ive been going to Dr. Davis for 30+ years. He is absolutely the best doctor ever. Always honest and patient and answers all questions. Would never change doctors even if my insurance did not cover my visit. I would pay out of pocket to stay as his patient.
Best OB-GYN doctor in the area: very knowledgeable and also willing to share his knowledge with his patients. He takes the time to explain and find answers for the patient if necessary. Dr. Esposito cares for his patients, I recommend 100%. Staff at CWC is welcoming and helpful every single time.
Front desk staff are cliquey - rude to all but the few they fawn over. Billing is inconsistent and non medical staff think they have the right to discuss patient medical information. Doctors rotate. I stayed here for so long because the location was incredibly convenient; after switching to St. Agnes, I almost cried at how much better everything was.
Went for my first visit there, and was more than pleased! Front staff was extremely friendly, and I saw Laura Burnham, who was FABULOUS. She took the time to talk to actually get to know me and speak with me about my questions and concerns. Couldn’t be happier with my visit.
I have been having to do a lot of back and forth between CWC and another office, and every time Diana and Sandy have been superb in helping me navigate the issues. Both ladies are so patient and have helped advocate for me as a patient.
I have been a patient at Capital Womens Care since 2002. I have grown up with Dr. Richards. From a young pre-teen into my female adulthood, CWC has provided excellent care and service. Unlike many doctors offices, I feel that this practice has maintained the art of healthcare, combining medical knowledge and expertise with kindness and compassion. My phone calls are always returned, there is always someone to answer my questions, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I would recommend Capital Womens Care to every woman I know!
Dr. Chaiken has been my OB/GYN physician for about 37 years. His caring ways, depth of knowledge and professional manner has been a blessing and a gift to me. Thanks so much, Dr. Chaiken, for ALL you’ve done and for ALL you continue to do in your work.Patty Walter
It’s really nice to be talked to instead of talked at, to have your doctors be genuinely interested in your well being is unfortunately not the norm. I’m glad to say CWC, and especially Dr McDowell are we’ll deserving of all 5 stars! If you’re looking for women’s care this is the place to go!
Dr. Davis delivered my first child, and literally saved our lives as I suffered through a potentially deadly syndrome. Always patient, listens, and never fails to ask about our kids by name years later. So grateful to be in his care.
Transferred my care, so glad I did! Amazing staff, top notch physicians. Quick check in process, easy to make appts. Feel safe and cared for here, not a number.
I have been a patient of Dr. Chaiken for over ten years. He has a caring and professional manner. He answers all of your questions and concerns. You leave the office feeling more knowledgeable about your health. I would highly recommend Dr. Marc Chaiken at Capital Womens Care on Maple Lawn Blvd.
Doctors and staff are great, and the office is very aesthetically pleasing. However, it is impossible to get someone on the phone without holding for an unreasonably long amount of time. Ive held for 5 minutes to almost an hour trying to get through.
Dr. Richards cares and follow ups with her patients even when we are lazy about it. She is professional and very nice. Ive been with her over 20 years and will be her patient forever.
The entire staff at Capital Women’s Care is fantastic! They answer all of your questions thoroughly and provide outstanding support. The doctors are very caring and amazing. I would recommend this practice to everyone!
From the lovely check-in staff, who are invested in each patients care, to the actual consultation with Dr. Pilevsky, I have felt well cared for at this facility for the past 14 years. I feel fortunate to have access to such elite care.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I came in at 9:20am for my 9:30am appointment and was after checking in waited 50 MINUTES. EVERYONE ELSE HAD BEEN SEEN, and people that came in after me had LEFT. THIS IS AN AWFUL PLACE. I asked 2 times when my appointment would begin. I had to get off from work to come here. You will never have me as a patient ever again!
Had all my prenatal appts and delivery with this office. Everything from scheduling, lab work, my appts, also my delivery with Dr. Acholonu were great experiences. So glad I chose this place.
Tried to schedule an appointment today and the representative was NOT LISTENING to me what so ever. I answered her questions then she would ask me again same thing again as of I didnt answer the first time. Then I told her I came in 5 years ago and still continued to gather my information then told me oh its been more than 3 years so youre considered a new patient so next availability will be in March... what a waste of time talking in circles...
All of the staff there are genuine and friendly. The doctors make sure to take their time and answer any questions you have. I no longer live close to the office, but continue to drive an hour because I like how I am treated there, and do not prefer to go anywhere else!
Dr. Pilevsky is the absolute best ! I have had awful experiences with other practices. This one is the absolute best!!! Everyone is professional and compassionate. Why not give them a try!?!?
I was referred to this practice for permanent birth control, told them as much when I scheduled the appointment, but they scheduled me with a doctor that doesnt even do surgery anymore and wanted to refer me out. What a waste of my $50 copay.
Dr. Hundley is a caring physician who always listens to my concerns. I have referred several friends to her and they were so thankful.
Dr. McDowell is patient, thoughtful, and thorough. She explains things, answers questions, and makes sure you understand every part of the process. We are so grateful for her care.
Appointment handles in a timely manner. Dr Pilevsky is a pleasure to deal with. Makes me always feel very comfortable.
I have been seeing Dr. Chaiken for many years, and he and his staff are always polite and competent, very important attributes in a doctor/patient relationship.
Receptionist was very helpful at this location when I explained how far along I was and upfront about everything but the supervisor at this location was super rude and tried to call 911 for no reason after they denied me service because of how far along I am when their website clearly says they help people with what they perceive are high risk patients.
The doctors are all very friendly and efficient at what they do. It is clean as well. I love the checkin process, it is fast and easy. I’ve never had to wait long after checking in.
I highly recommend Jamie Huppmann the NP. She is very knowledgeable, kind, and easy to talk to!
I have been a patient of this practice for many years. Dr. Davis and Jeanne are lovely. I never feel rushed and they listen and hear what you say.
Nobody will answer the phone youll be on hold for 30 minutes. Once youre off hold the phone will ring for 5 minutes straight and you still wont get answered. They also wont answer your appointment request online either. Good luck.
Dr. Chaiken has been my doctor for over 18 years - He is a great doctor - very knowledgeable and thorough - but also, and just as important, just a really nice man.
Nicole Pilvesky is amazing! Best GYN Ive had in the 20+ years Ive been getting exams.
Very smooth process from start to finish. Love having mammogram done at time of visit. Great addition to the services offered.
Staff is caring and friendly. Doctors speak to you in an understandable manner and are informative. The office is very nice and clean and in a convenient location.
My first time experience yesterday at Capital Women: The front desk and the nurse were really helpful and Dr Davis very knowledgeable doctor.
Everyone except the Drs are horrible... nurse practitioners, front desk, etc! I can’t believe I allowed myself to come here for my pregnancy and kept ignoring the red flags. Do yourself a favor and select another OB.
Dr Pilevsky is wonderful. She’s just so down-to-Earth and caring. She’s easy to talk to and she really listens
LOVE Dr Esposito at CWC. Great at taking his time and explaining options and care without judgement or leading. Great expert care and bedside manner.
I am from womans kind. I called this office 4 times on a Monday . They repeatedly left me on hold for anywhere from 20 minutes to 30 minutes..Then hung up on me after answering the call finally.Horrible place!!!#Then there answering service couldnt give them a message because there wasnt anything actually wrong with the phones only the people they had working there to answer them.
Trying to schedule an appointment and operator always forwarding to a voice mail. Left a message two days ago and no response what is very frustrating. :(
The doctors here are good. But there are issues with scheduling appointments and phone lines, and I really hope they can get them fixed.
Check in staff was efficient and nice. I love Dr. Pilevsky, she listens, takes her time and discusses options.
I had an appointment for 2. They cancelled my appointment because they said I was supposed to be there at 1:45. The text reminder and call reminder both said my appointment was at 2.
Dr. Davis has always been patient, thorough, helpful, and knowledgeable with me, and I would definitely recommend him.
The front office greeted me enthusiastically, the wait was short, and Dr. Davis was very professional and personable.
The front desk lady literally hung up on me, after telling me that new patients can’t get mammograms. Like, really? So rude.
Dr. Pilevsky and the team at CWC are awesome! Very efficient and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately this particular location has some good providers and some that seem borderline incompetent.
Linda is AMAZING. Love her so much!
When they say your appointment is at 1:00, they really mean 2:30.
Nice doctors but always 30-40 minutes behind schedule.
Great doctors. Quick and easy visits.
Excellent, compassionate, caring and gentle doctor.
Professional, clean offices, pleasant experience, friendly staff
Everyone is extremely kind, caring and professional.
Excellent visit with Dr. Pilevsky!
All staff is friendly and helpful!
Tammy was vey helpful
Great staff.
Caring doctors and staff.
