I just moved from Colorado and was referred to Dr Chalian From my previous doctor. This made the transitioning from one state to another so much easier. Dr. Chalian Was updated with my Past health records and very knowledgeable of the issues I was facing. I must say that parking was much easier here than any other place. I’ve gone. Hes super nice doctor & gave me a time to explain all my problems & concerns. He is a good listener & patiently waited for my explanation. He didnt rush me. Dr. Chalian cares about his patients. I had an emergency on 3/31/2023 and ended up at Glendale Memorial Hospital around 4:30 pm. He was at Glendale Adventist performing surgery on another patient but still communicated with Glendale Memorial ER staff to coordinate the emergency procedure I needed - the next morning he came by to check on me in my recovery room, it was a Saturday. He visited again several more times while I was hospitalized and every time a doctor came by to see me they mentioned that they spoke with Dr. Chalian about me and I honestly felt that he was looking out for me. Im a fat woman and I do not usually feel seen for more than just that - he made me feel like a normal person. Dr. Chalian gained my trust as he oversaw my care during an emergency uterine embolism three weeks prior to our scheduled laparoscopic robotic assisted hysterectomy. From the evening I arrived at the emergency department in Glendale Memorial he was looking out for me. Speaking with ER staff at first, then with the doctor who performed my embolization and both of the doctors who oversaw my care after that. He also came by the hospital to see me the very next day and three of the four full days I was there. It meant a lot to me. I know hes a busy person but he gives his patients the attention they need when they need it.He performed my hysterectomy as scheduled and it went well. I went home the same day as the surgery and was able to walk around my apartment just fine. The pain was minimal and I only needed Ibuprofen and Tylenol for about a week. The stitches were so tiny and now that its been four weeks theyre all gone and the scars are very small.If you are lucky enough to have him as your doctor just know you are in capable and caring hands. Dr. Chalian provided the absolute best care for me. He made sure my mother and I felt safe throughout the whole process. The process was not rushed, and all options were explored before the hysterectomy. Since the beginning there was open communication, and I was able to contact the doctor with any further questions or concerns. He was very empathetic during the surgery and clear instructions were given for after care. The patient never felt alone or lost, and every concerned was answered. When I arrived I noticed the waiting room was peaceful. When I checked in at the window the young girl was a bit snappy. I asked if they validate the parking. The girl answered in a rude manner. Excelente Dr. I have my total hysterectomy in January and the truth I was very scared, but Dr Raffy was always watching over me at every stage of the operation. Today I’m a month old, and I already went to my appointment after my surgery and my scars are very good and he continues to take very close care of my recovery! ! I am very grateful to Dr. Raffy. Dr. Chalian has a reputation in the hospital that after surgery his patients go home, and having had many surgeries I expected to be down for at least a few days after my procedure but to my surprise by the morning I was going about my day as if nothing had happened. He is kind, caring and very thorough which made me feel safe. I feel very lucky to have met Dr. Chalian and highly recommend him.

I hope to be able to give him 5 stars someday. My first impression was exactly what everyone else says. Cordial, on time, listening intently, concerned. And then he left the room and it has been downhill after. He said prior to ending the appt that he would review my scans and call me the next day or 2 to discuss what he saw. That was March 1. I was given a “follow up appointment” for March 27 between 5-7pm for a phone call. As I was leaving the Redlands office (which isn’t even his office? It was very confusing) I was told to get an MRI and told when I was leaving that “his staff will set it up”. I had to call them a week later to find out what was going on and the order wasn’t even ready yet. Then the reception asked me to look up the fax number of the place I wanted to go. I understand knowing my insurance but I didn’t think I would need to Google phone numbers for them as well. Today I got a text message from the imaging center indicating that the clinical notes for my appointment on 3/1 weren’t done yet to they couldn’t submit my test for authorization and I needed to reschedule my MRI for 3/17. I called the office to find out what was going on and the answer I got was “I’ll ask Dr to finish the notes as soon as possible and hopefully they won’t cancel your appt”. I asked why it took 2 weeks to enter clinical notes, what I was supposed to do if I had to miss MRI and got nothing…..no apology, nothing but “well I hope they don’t cancel”. It took a month to get in to see Dr. Chalian and only because there was a cancellation. Now I’m waiting even more time and risking my MRI getting cancelled with no known follow up. All the while I look 6 months pregnant and am in constant pain. Icancelled an appointment with other doctors because I heard and read such good things about Dr. Chalian, and don’t get me wrong, he seems to be a great doctor but this is beyond frustrating and I’m suffering from it.Edit- Dr. Chalian is an amazing doctor. He really is. I hope his office staff redeem themselves

I was referred to Dr. Chalian and was very comfortable after our first meeting. Dr.Chalian prove to be an excellent surgeon patient and ready to answer any questions I may have had. When the surgery took place Dr. Chalian followed up daily to make sure all was well while in the hospital and was able to explain in an understanding way what the next step was going to be.

It was a great first meeting with the good doctor with him answering questions and explaining what needs to be done and related risks, and was not in a hurry to run off to the next patient but took the time to quell my doubts and fears, so felt a little more confident that this medical procedure might be the right thing to do.Great post op care, no complications, great bed side manners, so pleasant a doctor all throughout hospital care, calls back for questions, follow up visits after discharge. I’m indeed very fortunate, Dr Chalian and his staff are as nice as he is, what a blessing because he truly took good care of me!Follow up appt was great as usual, I got reassurances from Dr. Chalian on all my paranoid fears and issues and wound is healing good, thank God he has added a couple of weeks to my recovery because of pain I’m still feeling when walking so he truly is very responsive and as I said a very good doctor who provides exemplary care. I was diagnosed with uterine cancer and needed a specialist. I had the luxury of doing some research on available MDs beforehand. I chose Dr. Chalian based on education, board certified in two areas and reviews. Even so, that does not always guarantee a positive experience. I have since had my required surgery and follow up. I am an RN of 40 years and have high expectations. Dr. Chalian exceeded those and more. From consultation to aftercare, I felt cared about. His manner is straightforward but welcomes questions and concerns. He remembered my particular details and needs , as I live 300 miles away. Surgery went very well, he updated my family afterwards for reassurance. I had minimal pain, and was prescribed medication that worked well. My aftercare visit was detailed, I can tell he takes his time with each patient. He was always calm and explained all options, especially appreciated as I was dealing with a cancer. I chose Dr. Chalian based on what I read about him. Having said that, I now highly recommend him based on my actual experience and care with him. I felt safe and cared for with him. I was bleeding for 2 years, every time when I went to the emergency the did D&C for stoping my bleeding, but it was coming back,... It was horrible!!!! This was my first visit with Dr. Chalian. When I made the appointment Annie was so kind and helpful, sending me all new patient paperwork to fill out ahead of time and answered all my questions. She scheduled me in as quickly as possible, squeezing me in. I expected to have to wait after my appointed time, however, I was seen exactly at my appointed time, without waiting. Dr. Chalian is very knowledgeable and kind, answering all of my questions as well as my husband’s. Dr. Chalian is an excellent physician and I’m so grateful he is my doctor. His office manager Violet is also very kind and efficient as well. During my initial visit with Dr.Chalian he was so calm and compassionate which helped me feel so much better and less anxious. Dr. Chalian is thoughtful, thorough and very knowledgeable about OBG Oncology. Once he took me on as a patient, he became my advocate. He was relentless; he argued my case to my insurance company until they okayed my surgery (in record time), and then convinced the hospital admin to allow my surgery to proceed (this was during the height of Covid19, and the hosp had closed its doors to surgeries). Dr. Chalian is easy to talk to; I went in with a laundry list of questions and concerns, and he was willing to spend all of the time needed to answer my questions and to alleviate my fears. Dr. Chalian is a highly skilled surgeon with an impressive bedside manner. I could not have found a better surgeon if Id tried.1/11/23 I am approx two years past my surgery, and my confidence in Dr. Chalian has not diminished.4/12/23 At almost 2.5 years past my surgery and chemo, my faith and opinion of Dr. Chalian has not diminished nor changed.

Recently, Dr Chalian was my surgeon in removing a giant ovarian cyst. Naturally, I was terrified as this was my first surgery. Dr Chalian was amazing in helping to set my mind at ease and answered any/all questions me and my husband had. He constantly checked in with me before and after the surgery, and was overall just a caring doctor. I felt completely safe and comfortable. Im so honored and lucky to have met Dr. Chalian. He is truly a rarity, both as a caring doctor and as an incredibly skilled surgeon.I was severely traumatized by the passing of my mom, who was diagnosed with, and eventually succumbed to endometrial cancer. I did not want to go near anything that reminded me of what happened. But when I met Dr. Chalian, his calm and caring demeanor was very reassuring. He is very smart and he knows what he is doing. I was to have a total laparoscopic hysterectomy - that was inevitable. And scary. But Dr. Chalian patiently explained everything and answered all my questions (there were many). I felt at ease and knew that Im in good hands. I was right.The surgery went great. I met the hospital staff - all incredible and kind human beings. Before I knew it I fell asleep and woke up - and it was all done. Dr. Chalian did immaculate work, with unparalleled precision. I was literally released to go home the same day and came off the pain meds in 2 days - all of which speaks to the surgeons amazing skill.I also want to mention Dr. Chalians staff - Annie and Violet and all the other girls whose names I cannot remember (my apologies). Yesterday was my first visit with Dr. Chalian, he is kind and went over/explain everything in detail and answered all my questions. Thank you for allowing me to feel comfort and know I’m in good hands with upcoming medical appointments.

I find Dr. Chalian to be a compassionate, caring, attentive, and very proactive doctor, ie, he has a great sense of urgency about my medical condition. From the time I made an appointment with him, I was able to see him in 2 days. When he was unable to get a sample of my mass(as 2 other doctors weren’t able to either), he immediately scheduled outpatient surgery at Glendale Adventist Hospital(btw, the staff there were great – they answered my questions and were very kind and professional) in 1 week. 3 days later, Dr. Chalian called me with the report that my mass was an aggressive form of uterine sarcoma(cancer). The next day, I had CAT scans done, and in 3 days he met with me to go over the results and his recommended treatment of surgery ASAP(he actually set up a tentative surgery date). I had about 24 questions to ask him about the type of cancer I had, as well as about the treatment he recommended for me. He answered all my questions to the best of his ability and with straightforward honesty. He always asks me if I had any more questions, and he always reassures me that I will be well taken care of. Dr. Chalian also supported my decision to seek a second opinion about my treatment(he wasn’t defensive about it – he had a positive attitude). I sensed that he was more interested in getting me healed, rather than it was all about him.His office assistant Violet was very helpful in getting my medical records from my primary physician(had a problem there), as well as resolved my health insurance denial of service for part of my CAT scan.In summary, I’m very happy and fortunate that I went to see Dr. Chalian, especially when I had a very difficult time finding an ob-gyn oncologist who could see me within a week’s time(usually when I called such a specialist like him, I would be given an appointment one or two months from when I called).

Very professional doctor Dr. Chalian always takes his time with patient, has great bedside manner , Honest and actually listens. wait times are relatively short usually 15 minutes maximum.

Dr. Chalian took a lot of time with me to be sure he answered all my questions. It was clear he is very knowledgeable and cared about me and my decision. I’m glad I’m under his care.

Dr. Chalian answered all my questions about my up coming surgery. He was patient and did not rush my appointment . My family and I appreciate him taking the time to explain everything which occurs during the procedure.

He’s a very caring doctor, relaying the details of surgical procedures not only to his patients but to the patients’ families as well. Our experience with him has been a very pleasant one!

I arrived at my appt and the Dr was running late his office asst advised me right away, took my number down to call me when he arrived. i really appreciated that. the staff and Dr are very nice and listen to you when you speak. which is rare now. Great Dr.
