Don’t come here for gender affirming care. I’ve been on hormones for 7 years and had to change providers. I called to make an appointment and was told the schedule wasn’t out yet so I had to call back multiple times to see if I could even get an appointment. Finally got an appointment and told them I needed sliding scale because I don’t have insurance. They said that’s fine and we would work it out before my appt. My appointment was scheduled 3 weeks out. It was a video call. Right before my appointment, an assistant called me and told me that they stopped doing sliding scale for Gender Affirming Care a week prior and my appointment would cost $260. I did the appointment because I didn’t have any other choice at that point, I’m low on my meds. At the appointment I explained I needed the 10ml bottle because doctors in the area keep prescribing 1ml bottles and having people use them multiple times when it states on the label and the CDC website that those bottles are single use only. This is dangerous because they lack the germicidal solution that the 10ml vials have. The doctor said she understood and would prescribe it that way. I didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks after calling multiple times only to be met with a voicemail while I’m completely out of medication. Finally picked up my prescription and not only was it the 1ml vials, but I wasn’t even prescribed enough to last me 3 months until the next visit.Edit: I have added photos showing the CDC compliance is that single dose/single use vials are not to be reused. So, no, it is not in compliance with the CDC to be reusing these vials.I also called the number you replied with and joke’s on me, it just led to the voicemail that you have to leave several messages on to get a reply.

Gender affirming clinic isn’t reliable and very difficult to get in touch with. They don’t provide enough HRT for one month claiming that “one vial is enough” when quite literally every other provider has given me four SINGLE USE vials for one months supply. Provider claimed that it’s “safe to use multiple times”I had to play phone tag multiple times with a prior authorization for MONTHS to get them to send it into my insurance.Half of trans people face medical malpractice, thought Planned Parenthood would be better.Edit: So I did have a follow up with Planned Parenthood where they proceeded to tell me that it is safe to use single dose vials for the HRT that was prescribed to me. I did some research after our call and found out that PER CDC REGULATIONS that is not okay to use single dose vials multiple times. Screenshots have been provided directly from the CDC website. This is absolutely atrocious malpractice and will be reporting this clinic and all of the providers who tried to convince me and my pharmacy that it was safe to use. You’re supposed to be educating people on how to give safe injections rather than taking medications away from them and giving them less medication than what is needed because it’s “cheaper”.

It was my first visit to a PP and I went in for an IUD removal, I was extremely nervous given my complicated condition. I was greeted warmly and professionally. I was received by the intake nurses who were so friendly, funny and informative. They reasurred me that I would be in good hands and that I didnt need to worry. When I went in for the procedure I expressed my stress again and the clinician offered to have a nurse stand by me for comfort, to which I gladly accepted. The nurse stood by me, and even held my hand and engaged in conversation and jokes to help my anxiety. Honestly, I couldnt have asked for a more pleasant and wholesome experience, I felt like God was with me from walk-in to walk-out. Thanks for the great service team, Id highly recommend!

This was my very 1st visit to a PP! And Wow! They were amazing. They were incredibly kind and professional. I went in for a nexplanon removal and reinsertion. I was very nervous. They made it quick, smooth and almost painless. The procedure probably took her about 3 min after the lidocane did its magic. Additionally this wonderful staff asked me if I wanted to get some routine testing done. This doesnt seem like much, but as someone whos anxious to ask, this meant everything. I would absolutely recommend this location and I WILL be back. They are extremely kind and I left with a smile on my face. 6/5 stars for these wonderful humans.

LOCATION IS NOT SAFE!Carmen is extremely unprofessional. She is a manager of the planned parenthood. She is rude and I will do everything I can to expose her attitude until she is terminated. She is a disgrace to the planned parenthood organization and all of the people that fight for woman’s rights! I highly encourage planned parenthood at highest leadership levels to review videos to see how concerning this offices actions are to women seeking help! I’m contacting state reps and seeking funding be moved to private organizations because no woman should ever be treated the way this office treats women.Update 1/16/2023 We are still waiting for a repayment for services. We were forced to go to another state for help and we never received a credit for the services we should have never had at this office. I will be contacting someone on a federal level today.Further to that I told this location at least 10 times that I had a condition. They never noted my chart. Birth control almost killed me a few months ago and the staff judged me because I would not accept medication I knew would kill me. This office needs a staff facelift! It’s not safe!THIS LOCATION IS NOT SAFE!We are using a private location due to the unsafe practices of this office. Please call your local reps to shut this office down! They need a new location with new people! Also, based on other reviews this is not new. So does planned parenthood care about women or how we are treated? They have known about this location for years and have done NOTHING! I cannot believe how poor this was and continues to be handled. SHAME ON YOU!

I am so disappointed with this place. The customer service is horrible with the transgender affirming department. They never call you back they haven’t done anything for me. I’m so unhappy at this point I’m ready to reach out to corporate because I feel like I’ve been treated like trash and I don’t deserve to be treated that way and I won’t take it any less, you will hear from me really soon

Visited this location in need of immediate services. I made an appointment for 12pm and arrived 5 minutes before my appointment. I waited in the waiting room until 1pm before they called me up to the receptionists desk and they still did not bother taking any information from me for my appointment. The amount of walk-ins they receive takes away from anyone needing their timely appointment on a very tight schedule. The waiting room was filled with men that were waiting for their partners to come out from their appointments but it was a very uncomfortable setting for me and other women who were there to receive our health services. There was no music, TV, or any sort of background noise inside of the waiting room which made speaking to the receptionists an uncomfortable experience because you already have to shout all of your reasons for being there & personal information through a small window. Amongst sitting in a room full of mainly men for an hour, waiting for my name to be called, the receptionist absolutely mortified me by the way she handled my situation. She was degrading, she made me shout that I did not bring enough money with me, even though she already had my money in her hands. I spoke with an organization before my visit that told me this specific location receives enough donations to cover the rest of my cost and they will be notified to do so. However the receptionist at this location made a humiliating scene in this very quiet waiting room about my situation telling me there were several things wrong with me and that everyone else could afford their visit perfectly fine. (I was the only person there without a partner or support system) I asked for my ID back that they withheld for an hour and asked them if I could simply leave while I am in tears and absolutely embarrassed. I choose planned parenthood because it should be a safe space for women to receive their healthcare in a discreet way if they need to and I was under the impression it would be a supportive and helpful environment but I was wrong. I already have to drive 35 minutes to this location as its the closest to where I live. But I will now be driving an hour and a half to the York location for my services as they apologized on Harrisburgs behalf, and have always treated me like a person. The way the Harrisburg location treats their visitors and patients, worries me as ive witnessed people leave before their appointments because of how they were being treated by the receptionist. This makes me believe their visitors may take the more unsafe route by actually listening to the religious protestors outside and get themselves in a predicament they shouldnt because they are desperate to receive healthcare they need. I seriously believe this location needs to do better. Patient confidentiality, more comfortable waiting experiences, and more hospitable employees. I am absolutely disappointed in this establishment.

I came here for care and was met by the most understanding & empathetic people. Everyone here was so kind to me & answered all my questions. They even made sure I wasn’t in a domestic violence situation which was so nice considering how difficult it is for women to get help because of.The care i received here was top of the line & I wouldn’t hesitate to come back for any of my needs. PP is an invaluable resource for healthcare.

Its almost impossible to get ahold of anyone here. ive had issues with them switching pharmacies for about a month now, and no one can seem to give the same answer. ive been out of my prescription for 2 weeks now despite them having a month in advance to transfer pharmacies. ive called multiple times about this, left voicemails, had the administrative office leave messages, and even went in person to the clinic and have not gotten any call or contact back whatsoever (talked to both pharmacies, its definitely an issue on planned parenthoods end). ive also gone in to get blood drawn and had to get punctured 4 different times by 3 different people. ive never had issues with getting blood drawn in my life.edit - august 18, 2023. absolutely /do not/ get HRT here. theyre completely unreliable. to update my original review, i did not get my prescription for an entire month. when i did finally get it they only gave me one refill. im now out of refills and im having the exact same issues again. they do not ever answer voicemails and rarely have anyone to answer the phone. my pharmacy needs a doctor to confirm the prescription before they can refill it and no one is getting back to me. ill be switching providers as soon as i can because its ridiculous how little the people that work here care

I was told by the receptionist that they didn’t take insurance on Thursdays. Contacted my insurance and other planned parenthood locations and was informed this was not the case. I was lied to and misinformed for no reason. I scheduled my appointment on the 20th, and my appointment was supposed to be today (2/23/2023), and was told I’d receive a call to let me know if my insurance was verified. I never revived a call, and tried calling earlier this morning with no answers. But when I showed up to my appointment, and tried explaining to the receptionist what was going on she stated “We don’t take insurance today.” I asked her what she meant, and she just repeated the same phrase. I left upset because I wasn’t informed of that and had to reschedule. I later found out from other locations this is not the case. I severely don’t appreciate being lied to. And for what? And no. I did not mishear, and I had someone with me that heard the exact same. I hope this doesn’t ever happen to anyone else.

I made an appointment for regular testing in August, never heard a thing, had to call back in September to request my results to which the seemingly disinterested associate on the other end of the phone replied Everything came back negative. great for me, but I dont even remember what tests were done. I also dont recall having to get my own results, but I do remember the very nice receptionist on my way out of the visit saying we will call you with your results. As for the visit, very short wait time. The doctor on staff was fabulous, efficient, friendly, and has a smile a mile long.

They were extremely nice and were very good with getting me in and out and put in my Nexplanon in the same day of my first appointment. They also got me in the day after I made the appointment would 110% recommend. You could tell they knew what they were doing. I felt nothing during the insertion.

I don’t have insurance so I went there to get my iud taken out because of Covid they were the only facility within a 30 mile radius that could take it out. I got my birth control put in by planned parenthood at the harrisburg location and I also got it taken out there. When I scheduled my appointment to get my iud removed everything was fine. I went there and the receptionist was so rude. She degraded me because I didn’t have insurance or a stable job because I was in school. I felt so uncomfortable there. When I got my birth control put in I didn’t have that same energy but I also had insurance. You hear all these stories about how PPH is great for people who struggle financially and I just didn’t have that experience. I hope the lady gets fired because harrisburg is a predominately black poor place with so many people without insurance and she shouldn’t act like that.

Absolutely do not see Dr. SwartzmanI was a proud supporter of Planned Parenthood, but they have just lost a financial donor. I paid full price for a yearly, and spoke to the doctor that I was specifically here to be cleared for a surrogacy based on the Pap. I was having other testing done but I needed his clearance based on the Pap alone. No problem, they took my money; and then I called for FIVE WEEKS for the letter of clearance - often times made to feel like I was an inconvenience, only to be told now they cant do it. If you dont need to go there, and have other resources, use them.

I went to this facility for a quick appointment regarding my birth control in between a lapse in my medical insurance. All of my concerns were addressed and they advised me properly on treatment. Staff was pleasant, I arrived early to be sure I could find the location and was treated early. The only reason I docked a star is because the facility itself is in desperate need of some upgrades.Side note: If youre unfamiliar with cities like I am, youre concerned about parking. There is parking in the back for patients, so no cash is needed for meters.

I cannot even give this facility one star. This is the most appalling experience Ive ever had with any medical facility. Its a small office and I dont see how they are not aware the walls are paper thin and that patients can hear everything they are saying! I heard them ridicule and criticize me and other patients the ENTIRE time I was there. Such rude, trifling staff should have their careers ended ASAP and I will personally see to it the right legal offices are contacted. Ive never had this experience in York or Lancaster offices.

Expect to be here AT LEAST 1.5-2 hours. Which is disappointing seeing as you have to schedule an appointment. The doctor on schedule that day didn’t seem very interested in what was going on. This place needs more than just a waiting room remodel. I gave two stars because I did get what I came for. Just took 2.5 hours to get it.
