Planned Parenthood - Mission Viejo Health Center

I have been going here for over 20 years now. Although people mistakenly think this is just an abortion clinic, abortions are NOT an offered service at Mission Viejo Planned Parenthood. But instead they prevent many people from needing abortions by offering low cost and no cost birth control options!! They also accept medi-cal insurance. They also offer a wide array of services, which is another thing I dont think most people realize. They offer STD testing, can help with a UTI or yeast infection, they can freeze off warts or bumps, offer permanent sterilization, paps and breast exams and more. I prefer to come here over a regular gyno because they are open 7 days a week. Weekend appointments are so much more convenient. And they have early morning appts when most doctors are not seeing patients yet. If you need to get in before work. Another huge plus is they provide you with BC for the whole year. With standard doctors you have to get a prescription and refill every month and your insurance wont approve you to get your next pill pack early, which makes it impossible to use the pill to skip your periods, for people like myself who take the pill for PCOS and Endometriosis. I was just here again recently and saw Leila and Lindsay. They were patient, friendly, kind, caring, made me feel heard / understood. Everything you hope for from your doctor and assistant, that you maybe rarely find. If you havent considered trying planned parenthood before, I highly recommend. Also I would just like to note that when I had a benign tumor growing in my upper inner thigh years ago, my primary doctor referred me to a dermatologist, and the dermatologist sent me back to my primary Dr. Nobody wanted to help me and I was in a lot of pain. I went to planned parenthood MV and they referred me over to their location in Orange, who did surgery for me and removed it. They were the only place who wanted to help me and I am so grateful. I do suggest always making an appointment because although they do take walk ins, the wait can be a while. When I make an appointment, I usually get seen in a timely manner, which is more than I can say for a lot of other Dr offices.

Everyone was so kind and gentle and they were able to help me get the care I needed even though I dont have insurance.

I had a very good experience here. It was my first time going to pp and I didnt know what to expect. They helped me get the necessary services and covered me completely. Katherine-the PA treated me with empathy, respect and she was knowledgeable about STIs.

The staff at this location are friendly and helpful. I prefer going here for routine health checks compared to my primary physician (as that can often take weeks to schedule an appointment). However, with Planned Parenthood I’m able to schedule an appointment as soon as the next day.

My first time at this location and I was so nervous coming in but the women at the office were all so kind and professional. They made me feel so welcome and comfortable. Brenda, Shelby, Mayra, the front office I didn’t get her name and another assistant that I also did not get her name but very impressed with your attitudes and professionalism. 5 stars

I had such a lovely experience. The staff there were all so kind and thorough. Probably the best experience at any medical facility. I felt very safe, valued, and informed about all testing, procedures, and treatment. I was concerned about paying out of pocket as I am visiting from out of state but they have a sliding scale and can work with you on payment.

In my opinion that’s the best planned parenthood location I’ve been to. The front desk staff, nurses and doctors are all very kind and informative. Beyond thankful for everyone who works there.

I got my nexplanon implant here and went back in for a follow up aswell. Place is very trans-friendly, they use preferred name and pronouns. Doctors and nurses are very nice. Office staff is very helpful and straightforward. Check in process is super easy. Sometimes you have to wait longer than your appointment is scheduled for, but thats just cause walk ins push it back, it is a clinic after all.

The red head Dr was the sweetest thing. I had an appt yesterday for std screening. They were so helpful with me and my two babies and the Dr was super knowledgeable! No one was judgemental at all. I get yearly screenings and its crazy how many other places actually judge you and make you feel ashamed when youre just being safe. This place was a little hard to find but the staff made it worth it. The nurse who got us ready was super sweet too.

EXCELLENT PATIENT CARE & CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS LOCATION!!!Please do yourself a favor and give this location a try for yourself. Do NOT miss out by believing these nameless, no detail negative reviews I have seen posted. Ask yourself, if service was so poor why didn’t they give details? Really really think about that? The best Doctors can’t please everyone isn’t that true?I am an actual patient. My Dr. is Gita Kalantari. She has been such a blessing and mentor to me for many years now. Her colleagues were actually just raving about her to me at the Santa Ana clinic last Friday. She really IS the gold standard re: patient care, a true example to follow. Example. This past weekend I was able to see a relative who I have not seen in 18 year’s because of Dr. Kalantari. I was having sinus issues last week, Dr. Kalantari actively listened to me, we then had some dialogue about course of treatment and I received my medication same day. I was well by Saturday 9/18/21. Met up with my cousin on Sunday and made precious memories + pics. My Dr. has ALWAYS exceeded my expectations.I am a Nurse and still, Dr. Kalantari was the difference between me getting the Covid 19 vaccine and not getting it. She never pushed me to get it, only provided her professional opinion. I got vaccinated. I trust my Dr. VERY much and I feel much safer having been vaccinated.Dr. Kalantari is:Funny - She makes you feel very comfortableSupportive - Her care, concern is written on her face. Even with her mask on, her eyes tell you she cares.Thorough - She crosses t’s & dots i’sAn active listener - NEVER makes you feel like your input does not matter.Very knowledgeable - I trust her because she knows her stuff, it’s second nature at this point.STILL Explains medications, medical procedures and interventions even though I am a Nurse. This tells you that she follows proper protocol, meets the standard of care regardless of who you are.THE STAFFAt this location the staff members are super friendly and professional. Dr. Kalantari sets the bar high with re: to patient care, professionalism and ensuring patient expectations are met. I can name many wonderful staff members here because they are memorable for good reasons. Starting with the front desk staff members. Extremely welcoming! Have an issue? Simply ask to speak with a Supervisor or inform your Doctor. I’ve had zero instances of rude staff behavior.RE: WAIT TIMEDr. Kalantari IS worth any delays. I live in Garden Grove but Dr. Kalantari is worth the drive. Delays happen on every job, including yours when you aim to do your best, true? So be fair.Beginning with my nursing school clinical rotation, I’ve observed and it’s almost a fact that the best Doctors often get delayed because they are actually providing excellent patient care to each patient. Every Doctor I have ever had, who meets my expectations has always had delays but were worth the wait. Why? I received the SAME excellent care which delayed them once it was my turn. Pick your battles. I’ll take the delay any day. Would you prefer your doctor cut you off mid sentence to save time? I think not. Right? Right! I leave this location happy and satisfied every time.

The absolute worst center. They advised me to come in at 7 am the next day because they are full. I rearrange my schedule and wake up earlier to get there then they say they arent open until 8......

I LOVE Planned Parenthood. They provide invaluable services and the staff at this particular location are excellent!

I usually think the best ob gyn doctors should have an office and many reviews.But I will come back here for my issues. Good place. Easy to make appointment. Super nice staff.

Ive used this office as well as other PPs in Oregon where Im from, when I was a visitor here in OC I would use PP for any female emergencies or health concerns I had that couldnt wait to go back to OR for. I would stay in Sol Cal for 3 or more months each time, so I used their services well and often! I now live here in OC and have for 7 years, they are very nice staff and welcoming and do care no matter what your health concern/issue. As well as I always had a great experience with this office with having no health care coverage in this state. (State insurance in OR) they always had a program or type of health insurance through PP etc that would help me for the services I asked for, almost in full if not completely paying for all the visit and services I needed. They never asked questions about why, why not, or donate something to our office then.....NO! They would encourage a donation of kindness and if I could not, it was simple and not awkward to politely say I couldnt but I usually did give something back to the office that helped me. They also do not keep record of contributing to them or not, and all the staff were always smiling at me! :) They always do the best job they can with appointment making, days and times and informing the patient of pertinent information pertaining specifically to the services they will receive that visit. So I always feel great showing up. The complaint everyone is giving in their reviews, I dont think is thought out very well, because doing one service per doctors visit is to reduce the wait time and back up of appts throughout the day that the doctors and nurses have. Every female or any human being, needs as much time as needed with the staff when it comes to their health needs and Planned Parenthood provides that very well in my opinion!! :) thank you PP, keep up the great way you run this location.

Ive only ever been treated kindly on my visits, Im so used to judgment but this place makes me feel safe and well looked after. I reccomend getting your care here if possible, planned parenthood is a safe place that really cares about you and your health overall♡

Very rude doctor would not read my TB Test on time even though I was on time. Doctor name was Beth and she shut my door. The first doctor I has was kind and very patient and just awesome.

Came to get sti testing. Both the doctor and the rest of the staff were super courteous, and you could tell that they really cared about privacy. As long as you know the building number and room number its easy to find with signs pointing to the numbers rather than the name probably for privacy reasons. Had to get blood taken, and Im a bit of a fainter, but had ZERO problems this time and the person taking my blood made sure I was okay throughout the whole thing. Will definitely be using them from now on for testing

At Melody Clinic you just waste your time. Because the irresponsible secretaries in this clinic do not send the patients laboratory prescription to the laboratory, and in this case, you stay hungry and thirsty in the laboratory for hours and they do not test you because the doctors prescription is not sent. In this case, none of the doctors secretaries give the correct answer to the patient. This clinic is really a chaotic clinic that only wastes your time

Usually I have wonderful experiences with PP and this office is especially great (short waiting times, welcoming office). However, I just had the worst interaction Ive ever had with a doctor in my life. Kristen S was immediately dismissive with me and treated me like a check-off list.I told her that in addition to my pap I wanted to discuss my worsening pms. Instantly, without missing a beat, she says Have you been taking your pill everyday? My response: What pill? Oh thats right, youre not on birth control, a fact she had confirmed with me 1 minute earlier. As I started describing the ordeal that I go through (tears welling in my eyes), she simply said, Take ibuprofen. I tried to explain to her that I have attempted to use it (since high school) to no avail, that last week I had to leave work despite taking my prescription pain meds. She was a broken record, repeating for the next 3 minutes Take ibuprofen not really listening to anything I was saying.At this point I was crying, telling her that I found out that my grandmother had suffered from endometriosis, wondering if the cramps were a sign of this. She said, You would need a biopsy to determine that, offering no information about how i could go about getting one. Then she told me to check-out with the front desk and Take the ibuprofen.I have never been so disrespected by a doctor, never so obviously treated like a chart and not a patient. Thank you Kristen S for making me leave a doctors office crying (another first).

Yes, its VERY hard to find your first time but thats how they can offer clinic services in Republican South Orange County. Just give yourself an extra 15 to find their office. They are very courteous and try to get you in and out as quickly as possible but they are a CLINIC. They will run late, etc etc.

Really hate coming here, but I went to today to get birth control pills refill for the next year, and they never bothered to ask which type of dispenser I used last time and the refill pack didnt come with a dispenser. I either have to use it without or suffer through what I went through today again to go back and ask for the right dispenser. I would rather of had the same type I had last time but I doubt theyll let me give these pills back and get new ones...plus dont want to waste them...

Today was my first appointment in planned parenthood at mission viejo , and I had a really good experience with doctor , nurse and also front desk staff , they were nice and helpful . The doctor was perfect . Thank you

Never going back .first off the doctor that took care of me wasnt my primary .i have a baby and had to bring my husband along so he could watch him .they would not let him in with me and my son cant stand being away from me.he has separation anxiety. They treat everything so taboo like vagina , period, or sex are things you cant discuss in front of your husband.I mean really my husband goes and buys me pads. Then the nurse asked me to pee in a cup and she said in case we need it for something.then the doctors tells me she is going to send the pee to be tested for stds. I told her no and she said well I have it already so I am she ignored me. Never have I felt like being a woman was something we have to hide from our husbands.this is why society cringes if they see a woman bleeding.

I came here because in this place there is a specialist who unfortunately only had until this place my appointment was at a specific time and time passed and almost an hour later and still not give me reports about my appointment ... and no service unpleasant if you have. the opportunity do it elsewhere because I really do not recommend it here.

Worst place ever the first appointment made so just for them to collect money if your late more then 15min they kick you back out no matter what problems you have. Never seen some one charge first and then ask for your problem.

Very rude front receptionist. Prison visit style front office and jail cell like waiting area. Now I see why these lazy and low-educated branch of government spending needed to be cut off for good.

I’ve been coming here since 2009 Planned Parenthood and Melody Women’s healthy I love it all wish they had prenatal care like being pregnant and being seen here

Dont like that they only offer one service per visit! LA county planned parenthood would take most of my services in one visit .

Showed up at 7am and they did not open until 7:30am . I would be careful planning around their hours .
