Planned Parenthood - Olympia Health Center

I do not get these reviews on this location! I have been going here for three years now and I absolutely love this place. I love the front desk staff. I love the doctors here. I have been nothing but treated with the upmost respect and kind and I just I can’t tell you how great of service I’ve had here. This place brings me so much comfort I never been treated so well from start to finish. Not to mentions the dr’s are so kind knowledgeable and supportive and really take kind to listen even remember you. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommended this location.

They may have just saved me from potentially getting a stroke. I will forever be grateful for how professional and how informative the doctor and nurses and front dest staff are. It’s been so hard getting an appointment anywhere else until I discovered Planned Parenthood, their online system is easy to navigate. I will absolutely recommend this place, they are all so welcoming. Thank you!!

If you have Medicare, expect them to provide no services, and refuse to even let you pay out of pocket or with a discount, and wont speak to you. Absolutely awful, they will make you feel hated.

EDIT: very sad to say that my experience has changed. This place is great for basic needs and birth control but if you have an actual issue theyll blow you off. And its so sad as a woman to see other women dismiss your intuition or experience. Went in after what I thought was a miscarriage, big hard veiny thing came out after about 4 hours of what I can only describe as labor. Im 23 years old, had lots of periods, irregular ones at that. I know what cramps are and what a clot is. This was not that. Doctor explains to me like a child how the uterus sheds, and pulls up some google images. Short theory (the answer in her opinion) was that it was an endometrial shed where it all comes out at once (nope, full period after that and also before it, also the pictures didnt match, none of it sounded right, trust me i googled it too lmao) so i give up and ask for an ultrasound. She says no need, all well see is that Im super extra empty after my big shed (note: im literally still bleeding at this time) fast forward to me getting my ultrasound not a week later (fresh off my period, just ended) and the results come back that I have an actually unusually full uterus but that it just means Im about to have my period (uhhhhh? It just ended? This is the literal OPPOSITE of what I was told to expect?? And literal days after a shed? Why is it full??) call planned parenthood and they basically throw their hands up and say I dont really need a diagnosis because most of the time the issue is treated with hormones so I should just try more birth control. So basically Im scared and confused and planned parenthood is yet abother place that blows off womens reproductive care. Sad. Really really sad.Im not sure if this is like, the best place in the world or if I had a really bad gyno my entire life but the service here was mind blowing. I came in fully expecting to be worked over, arguing about my birth control choice, arguing about needing bloodwork, arguing about doing a pelvic, expecting to have to put my foot down and be like look here, I came for birth control and birth control only but as soon as I came in and said I want the ring they basically said solid choice, heres 13 months worth and I walked out with a year supply of my birth control of choice, no arguing, no being talked down to about my choice like a child, no unnecessary work done on me. This place made getting birth control take like 20 minutes easy. If youre scared and confused about gynos or where to get birth control do not shy away from planned parenthood, theyve got it covered.

Me and my girlfriend came in together. She went back while i was in the restroom and texted me to ask if I could come back since she was going to be examined by a man, she wanted her boyfriend present. The lady at the front desk was acting like I was stealing info. I asked if I was aloud to be with my girlfriend. She said I cant answer any questions about who may or may not be here even though we were together when she signed in. So I asked if couples are aloud to be together during the examination process in general and she said the same damn thing about who may or may not be here (she was extremely defensive). Like she was trying to throw me off. She eventually said only one person is aloud. And I found out she was lying. Because Im being taken to her now

They are always really nice and helpful, try their best to answer any questions I have make sure I get what I need, I know theyre often understaffed but they cant do anything about that and I really appreciate them. I wish I could give more back !

I have been coming here for over 10 years now. I see the same doctor. She is extremely professional and knows what she is doing. I only come here to get my womens check ups becuase I trust her. Since shes so experienced the forceps never hurt. Shes skilled and thats why I come here. You have to wait in the waiting room for about an hour but its worth it. Its worth the good service I get with the nurses and doctor. She gives mom energy and I feel really safe letting her look in a vulnerable area. Ive never ever had a bad experience in the ten years Ive been coming here. Thank you for making me feel safe when I get my check ups! 💕🙏

I had an appointment last week and the visit was great! Everyone was friendly and I was seen in a timely manner. The receptionist, nurse, and doctor were very attentive and they finally figured out an issue Id been dealing with for a while. They also ran some lab tests (which I found out they do at a Planned Parenthood lab for my specific testing needs, not an external lab) and the results came back within 48 hours, which is much faster than most testing Ive experienced. I highly recommend this location!

New manager is awful and refuses to make accomodations for traumatized and disabled patients, whereas the last manager- Yasha, was sound of mind enough to remember that patients are humans and not objects, and was happy to make accomodations so that procedures could be completed in a safe and comfortable manner. Without Yasha this office seems doomed to close, which is a shame because we really need a *RELIABLE* and *TRUSTWORTHY* location in Olympia, and without managers like Yasha that just isnt happening.**Update**After reaching out to the director I was told that accommodations could indeed be made for my procedure(imagine that) and that they were sorry for my experience, which is great and all, and I appreciated them reaching out to correct this glaring...issue. But this shouldnt have had to escalate to this point just for professionals to meet special needs in a medical setting.Fingers crossed 🤞🏼NEW UPDATEI really wish I could say things got better, they might have, for like 3 visits, then it somehow got WORSEneed new employees at this location very badly

I just dont understand the low ratings. This place is amazing!! Every single person! Respectful and encouraging! They really care about your well being and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable! I was seen within 15 minutes of my appointment. I strongly recommend it to anyone what it looking for a warm and trusting environment to receive your transgender care! I so appreciate this service being available! My life is so much better now that I can make steps to a more authentic me! A++ to Sharon!!

Firstly, I dont give out 5/5 Stars ever... but this place DESERVES every. single. one.I was very nervous coming in as a new patient here but was instantly at ease with the amazing, friendly, and incredibly helpful Nova! They checked me in and went above and beyond my expectations to make sure I was well taken care of from the very beginning!The environment was warm and welcoming. It was the first time in public that I felt completely valid and accepted. It really gave me hope for the future, something we all desperately need right now. Amiright?Every step of my visit was explained to me thoroughly with plenty of time in between for clarification if needed. Although many of the questions were personal, the nurse (Im so sorry! I didnt catch your name!) did and amazing job walking me thorough the questionnaire. I could tell that they paid extra attention to my comfort level. I was so impressed by just the WAY that they asked that questions. It really put me at ease and made the whole conversation informative and actually quite pleasant.I cant say enough good things about Sharon! Even as a medical professional, I have never been comfortable talking to doctors, but the moment they walked through the door, I knew I was in good hands. Again, the conversation was comfortable and inviting. I NEVER felt rushed or judged. I felt like they truly cared about my well being and quality of life. They all did. Im so very thankful for the services being available to our community!

The people here have been taking care of me for many years now, and I consistently get great service and care. I get more answers and direct care here than I do at any doctors office. Today I was cared for by Yasha, who is extremely dedicated to her job and is one of the sole reasons this clinic isnt closed down. She was the only employee here besides Kim, as well as a guest from a Tacoma location. These people are underappreciated, irreplaceable, and deserve all the patience and financing we can afford.

Had a pretty bad experience last Thursday with my daughter feeling very uncomfortable with the doctor. The doctor Sharon taggart argued with my 17 yr old in the waiting room like they were both children. Trying to make a complaint to speak to management but it’s extremely hard to get through. Was left on hold for an hour every time until I’d give up and hang up.

What a joke! Supposed to be there to help but ends up trying to charge an arm and a leg for services. Low income mom here and still no help!

I’m really surprised by the bad reviews for this place. I had a wonderful experience here.I made an appointment for 10/20/2020 at this clinic to get a in-clinic surgical abortion at 6 weeks pregnant. I do live in Tacoma, but there were no openings for a while at the clinic there, so I chose to travel to Olympia to get it done.Ive been going to Planned Parenthood for years for care. When I found out I was accidentally pregnant at 3 weeks at 35, single and I knew I didn’t want kids. I knew right away that having an abortion was the right choice for me. Naturally, I chose Planned Parenthood to do it.I did have to wait an hour in the waiting room, but that was totally fine. I get that things get behind.I was extremely anxious about the procedure, and the whole staff, from the receptionist to the recovery room provider, were very kind, and I felt safe and respected. I was given medication for anxiety and anti nausea as well as painkillers to make the procedure more comfortable. I’m very grateful for this.They made a very difficult experience for me bearable and for that I am eternally grateful.I’m so grateful for Planned Parenthood and the services they offer. I’d absolutely reccommend this clinic to anyone in need of their services.

They were great but I asked for financial assistance and their billing department has been ignoring me for months.

I’ve been coming to this location for years, and every visit has been great. Everyone is very friendly, professional, and welcoming. The receptionists, medical assistants and doctors are wonderful, and Ive never had a bad experience

Dont make an appointment in the afternoon!!! Walk-ins fill the place up starting around noon and the office doesnt seem to have the ability to prioritize the actually scheduled appointments. My appointment was for 12:20. I wasnt taken back until about 2:00. And then it was another 30 min til I saw the main doctor. The lack of respect for my time was staggering. The only reason Im giving a 3 rating is because the doctor was great...if you can actually make it back there.

Their so helpful and caring. Sharon Taggart was so sweet when we chatted and she seems like a great person . Amy the receptionist has awesome front desk skills. They were both so kind. And just so helpful! Thank you to all staff who are understanding!! 😁

I’ve been here multiple times. I arrive on time but have NEVER been taken back on time, or even close. My girlfriend had an appointment at 12:30, we checked in ahead of time, arrived 15 minutes early and we didn’t get seen until 2:36.Oddly, walk-ins seem to get seen first, as two were taken back before we were. Don’t come here if you have ANY plans within 4-5 hours of your appointment time, you won’t make it.

I have been rescheduled twice by the staff now for my apointment to get my IUD. Now that it is my apointment day I get here on time 12:20 and they say there will be a little wait. They are behind, it is now 1:47 and still have not been seen and I need to leave by 2:30 to get to work. I cant reschedule or I will have been waiting over a month to get on birth control. Im not trying to get pregnant Planned Parenthood. Please hire more staff or reliable staff. This is ridiculous.

Went in for transgender health care, doctor was an older white woman and acted dismissive towards what I needed, did not listen and just ordered the wrong test without communicating. I was told by my insurance that this was covered, NOPE. Surprise bills! Now I have to pay $500 worth of bills for a service that was completely unnecessary. Thanks for making things worse PP.

Awful place. My appointment was at 930. Wasnt seen until 1230. They kept saying youre next it will be just a few. Didnt leave until 130! The nurse was nice but the dr was snotty! I will never come back!! Go to a normal doctor. I will go to a walk in clinic before i ever come back here. They wont tell you your results and they want you to use their app which tells you NOTHING! No actual results just little notations like if you are taking meds or are obese nothing of any use to the patient! Would give 0 stars and never come back. The only reason im giving 1 star is because the nurse was nice

I will miss this office sooo much!!! Sharon Tabbart the best provider ever!! It was just an honor getting to know you and your wonderful team. Ive never looked forward to a doctors visit, but coming here is like coming home.

Literally lied to my face about test results, and the ob pinched my ovary while mean-mugging me. Result was months of pain and several unnecessary procedures. If I didnt know better, Id say they are still fulfilling their founders ideals. Srsly disappointing, as access to full service is so essential to safety for us all.

Undereducated with regards to transgender care. Very transparently unable to communicate scheduling or appointment information. If you have the ability to google trans hormones youll probably know about as much as anyone who works there.

Although, some of the stuff were nice. I felt they didn’t care about my concerns and didn’t give me enough information to deal with the pain.

Issue resolved but still unhappy with initial response. I support planned parenthood as a whole and appreciate what they do for our community, but I do have certain expectations in terms of care. Thanks for following up.

The staff was friendly, but the whole point of going was for prep...this place was listed as a provider to get prep from on many sites. After submitting the std test I was told they could not prescribe it. I was told to go to my primary physician, but I came to them for a reason...

I wouldn’t go here if you’re looking for support or any helpful information. They’re very rude and judgemental . The nurse was very nice but the nurse practitioner was so rude to me and judgemental .

Despite going in for hrt the workers will frequently misgender you! super annoying and it happens every single time and they don’t really apologize either.

They have free parking for patients!! It was a bit hard to find the building at first. Everyone working including doctors and receptionists were great!!

They never answer the phone and take forever with simple instructions how can you take tax payer money sit at a desk get paid like the rest of us for pretending to be busy plus why is there only like 3 near me and there all hella far

Got me in on time. Friendly staff. Good bedside manners. Visit was no longer than it had to be, and staff gave me the information I needed.

Great for fast STI testing, especially if you made an appointment. Knowledgeable, diverse, and friendly staff!
