What a nightmare. I made an appointment via ZocDoc earlier today. I came in 10 minutes early and the receptionist looked at me like I had two heads. She immediately assumed I had the wrong address. At first I said I had an appointment with Dr. Yang but then realized I made a mistake and had it with a different doctor, but the location was the same. The receptionist still looked at me like I was talking nonsense. Another man came out and tried to pick information from me - saying things like “well, did anyone call to confirm your appointment?” I made it very clear this was my first time at the office and also my first time making an psychiatrist appointment. I was confused as to what the big deal was, since I’ve used ZocDoc plenty of times for other doctors had no issue. The man assured me “I would be seen” and went in the back. The receptionist comes out again and asks for my ID and insurance. I give it to her. She mentions something about my deductible. I forgot her exact words but I couldn’t tell if she was asking me about it or making a statement. She looked at me weird yet again. Obviously I’m at their office for mental health assistance and yet she couldn’t be bothered to treat me with an ounce of compassion or patience. I told her “forget it”, took my cards and left. I’m not asking for someone to coddle me but maybe have a bit more compassion for a new patient that’s trying to seek help? Such a bad environment. Avoid.

Would highly recommend, and will be going back. I participated in a robust treatment plan over the course of 3 months that slowly but monumentally shifted my mental health. I struggled for years with depression and anxiety, overwhelmingly so. I continuously felt paralyzed. Now, with the help of the Yang Institute, I do not suffer so harshly or in silence. I feel more resilient, able, and willing. My partner can sense the difference, my employer applauds my growth and I am grateful for the future. The Yang Institute offered me the opportunity to look deeply and holistically at myself - fine tune some of the parts - and live easier.

I’ve had a great experience with my acupuncture treatment with Dr.Shen. She has helped me so much with chronic pain and migraines i was having after shingles and also improved my energy levels and decreased my anxiety. Between the acupuncture, the prescribed herbs, and the self care /diet tips i am in much better health than before i started. All of the staff here are friendly and it is a calm comfortable setting.

Dr. Yang is knowledgeable, but be aware of the hidden costs after the initial treatment. First, we went forward with an integrative solution as we were told that a new location closer to us would be an option, but we found out this was false after we paid for the initial evaluation. So we decided to proceed with just nutrient therapy, and after one month of this treatment, we were told that a maintenance cost to get the same protocol would be an additional $8k for an 18-month plan. Any adjustments would be an additional fee. After much research nationwide, most other functional medicine clinicians will charge less than $3k, and you can see these clinicians remotely as most testing will be done at a lab. I also did not appreciate the lack of empathy and concern of the exuberant costs from the clinical director.

I came to here for neurofeedback. It was recommended that I do 2 sessions (3 months each). The first session definitely improved my symptoms. However, the second session made my symptoms much worse. After speaking up several times, I finally got a much delayed answer in which they admitted to providing incorrect treatment, and gave barely any information as to why or how this happened. This was a complete waste of my time and money. I’m very disappointed in what happened and no one in the office offered me a reasonable explanation or anything to makeup for what happened.

My time with this clinical team was a life changer for me. I went from lots of stress and consistent panic attacks to a complete 180. I am now feeling perfect and all taken care of with acupuncture and supplementation (no pharmaceuticals). Thank you Dr. Yang :)
