I am so happy with services here - they are truly caring, understanding, quality medical staff. The clinic is also very clean, welcoming, and comforting. I can tell that they really treat everyone with respect and that they are attentive to needs. Ive got kind help from the front staff on insurance-related issues, scheduling (and re-scheduling), email and fax numbers, and even parking suggestions! Doctors and NP are amazing too! I am much at peace knowing that my healthcare is just one call away. Highly recommended!

Dr Dewitt is my new primary care physician and this is the first time i have seen a dr that has made me feel so comfortable as a queer person. They take their time asking you questions and making sure you are provided with the care you need and this is miles ahead of the previous care i received. To any member of the LGBTQ+ community looking for a safe space where they can find the affirmation and health care they deserve, this is the place!

Quite frankly one of the best places around. They offer queer-centric and minority-focused health care, which is much needed in this area. Reception staff is great and they are easy to talk with on the phone. Nursing staff is gentle, courteous and they are not afraid to crack a joke, which is always welcome. Ive only seen my physician there (Dr. Dewitt) and he is fantastic. They really care about your well-being and they do so in a non-judgemental, queer- and sexuality-positive way.

Antonio (my primary), Alex & G have gone above and beyond more times than I can count in this last year for me. They spent weeks documenting so I could get the type of medication I needed, a strong preference on administration really- I could have done something else but they didn’t make me change and advocated for exactly what I wanted. When I felt better on a different dosing schedule they did it all over again with new insurance. Time and time again with the insurance, with paperwork for short term disability when I got sick they always come through. They are the dream team of providers and I could not speak more highly of my experience with them. Incredibly kind, educated and truly passionate about the work they do they are the best of the best. I am SO SO SO LUCKY to be in their care.100% recommend them to any LGBTQ person who has had zero luck with providers or is looking for someone with understanding trans* specific care. Thank you Antonio, Alex & G for the work you do ❤️

Poor follow up, communication, and my first time feeling like I had to advocate for myself at a primary care facility. I never felt that the office was being proactive for its patients. Tried to stick with them for a for years to support what seemed like a community focused center.

TL;DR Dr William DeWitt is responsible for taking me off my blood pressure medication, which caused my brain to start bleeding. I am in critical health condition because of this doctors negligence. Sure, this office is friendly and fun for hormones or STI testing, but never trust them with your actual health status.Ive been going to Open Door since spring 2023 for HRT and PCP treatment. My first few months were spent only seeing NP Toni, who I mainly had positive experiences with. My first time seeing Dr. William DeWitt was in September, and that is when things took an unfortunate turn. The last time Id seen Toni, he started me on the depo shot, the birth control injection. I told Dr. DeWitt that the injection had caused serious hot flashes and daily nausea and vomiting. I asked if Dr. DeWitt could renew my zofran prescription to help with my DAILY vomiting. He said no, you can drink ginger tea. Nausea medication is like killing a fly with a shotgun I also asked him to renew my propranolol prescription. Id never been diagnosed with high blood pressure, but Ive been taking propranolol instead of anxiety medication for over eight years. My prescription was 40mg twice a day. Even though it was my established prescription for eight years, Dr. DeWitt says no, you can take it 10mg as needed. So to be clear, instead of 60 40mg pills, I now only get 30 10mg. Meanwhile, Ive been fighting with Open Door to get my ADHD medication approved by my insurance. I spent *six months* repeatedly calling, making appointments, asking over and over for Open Door to submit the claim. Perfect timing for me! Right when Mr. Green Tea takes me off my blood pressure medication. Now I am no longer being treated for my severe hypertension, and Im taking a powerful stimulant. Three days into resuming the Vyvanse, Im being rushed to the emergency room with a thunderclap migraine and 240/140 blood pressure.I am being entirely literal when I say that I could have died because of this office. Again, come here in a pinch for your hormones prescription or to treat your UTI, but never trust Dr. DeWitt with your health. I moved here from Florida, where my doctors at the gender clinic I went to are actively fighting to treat trans people like me. Dr. DeWitt is a disgrace to PCPs specializing in gender affirming care.

10/10 Would recommend. This place is great. Its very welcoming and does have a progressive vibe, which other reviews have mentioned. I felt genuinely comfortable with the NP I saw and was able to be honest about all my questions and concerns, which is something Ive never been able to say about my medical providers from years past. I felt heard. Ive never met a more kind, patient, and supportive medical team. If youre someone like me who is scared of mean and rushed doctors and needs/wants kind and patient care, I reccommend Open Door Health. I only ever met with Marybeth and Alex, and theyre extremely nice. Couldnt comment on other medical staff.Lastly, regarding front end staff and communication, I also received kindness. I did have a couple appointments that were canceled/rescheduled and one time I did have to wait a really long time for a scheduled blood draw, but I consider that minor and normal at a busy, changing medical center during a global pandemic when the medical world is turned upside down. And as this pandemic comes to an end (hopefully) it will probably still take time for these kinds of logistics and service kinks to be worked out at Open Door. Its not a big deal in my opinion; its worth it for the kind of quality care they provide.

Friendliest staff I’ve encountered at any doctor’s office! I’ve seen Dr. Chan for the past year or two, and he’s the best. Super knowledgeable and always takes the time to answer all questions thoroughly. It’s such a contrast with other medical practices where you often feel rushed. I’ve heard great things about Dr. Murphy too, so you should be in good hands regardless of who you see.

Doctors/NP’s are great.. front office staff is incompetent. Referrals are either not made, or made incorrectly. They fail to communicate basic changes to appointments, and if you need anything done you have to ask repeatedly.

Ive had a lot of negative experiences with healthcare providers that have left me with a lot of anxiety and distrust around medical facilities. Not only was ODH incredibly understanding and accommodating about this, but both the front office and healthcare staff made me feel welcome and safe the moment I walked in.Ive been going to ODH for a few weeks now and have met three separate providers, and every single person has been extraordinarily kind, professional, and helpful. Im so used to falling though the cracks at best and being subject to discrimination at worst when I go to the doctors, but ODH treats me like a human being that matters. Im so happy I started coming here.Update 10/22: just want to reiterate how happy I am here! Still consistently great care.

Incomparable from reception to The medial staff esp. Dr. murphy and the glue of the practice the LPN. Ive lived up and down the East Coast. Ive never felt as comfortable and cared for. This seems like a progressive place. But, its for everyone and anyone who respects themselves and wants to be treated by kind, smart and knowledgeable medical professionals. This is the Dr. For you. I happened upon this practice as its close to my apt. But, I cant say enough about their compassion and professionalism. You deserve nothing but the best, this is the best practice in New England and perhaps the East Coast.

I’m 37, differently abled, and need support for a variety of chronic issues that come with living in the Springfield Retirement Castle. I certainly understand how the healthcare system is a wreck and the painful annoyance that comes with it being one of the greatest monstrosities of unnecessary bureaucracy and profiteering in recorded history.I have a lot of good experiences here and wonder if a lot of issues people have described stem from the larger systemic issues that we confront?

Ive been coming here since the beginning of my transition. I had a great PCP. Dr. Murphy. He has since left. I feel incredibly let down by open door. The PNP that replaced Dr. Murphy is a gate keeper that will not increase my hormone doses. I came in today at 3:43pm. My appt. Was for 3:40. The receptionist didnt enter my time right away. I was denied being seen by the PNP for being late. I have waited a long time for this and really needed to see her. I desparately needed to discuss mental health care. This is awful and Im going to switch to Thundermist as so many of my transgender friends have suggested.

The Friendliest Staff and Doctor Chan truly cared About my Health and Listened More than Most. A Patient Is as Healthy As His or her Doctors Ability to Listen And Understand How we the patients Feel Inside. I felt as if I was In Good Hands.

Open door used to be wonderful however most all the original staff has now left and the new people are so bad at there jobs . Any issues with insurance went from being taken care quickly to taking months to get taken care of and i have to call multiple times to make sure it gets done or they dont do anything . The new doctor dose referrals for almost everything at this point I am surprised they dont refer me out for the common cold. I used to go to thundermist for healthcare and they were dreadful because of the long waits for appointments and the lack of knowledgeable staff . Open door is even worse . I have to wait a month or more just to get a phone appointment and be told they will have to do a referral because they dont know what to do and dont have the experience . The doctors words not mine .the also have a habit or canceling appointments 3 or more times and rescheduling because they are overbooked and understaffed. If it was possible i would have given no stars especially since I have mentioned multiple issues to the staff and nothing has been done about it and they disregarded my concerns and simply told me Im sorry you feel that way which is one of the most dismissive responses they could have given. Any good open door had went out the door with the original staff . Dont go here if you want any form of healthcare . They are terrible and not willing to change and they do not listen to the complaints of their patients. Because they do not want to change and will not change I am changing ...... Healthcare establishments that is.
