Gynecologic Cancer Care Nishida Karen MD

Dr Nasida was recommended to me by Dr Romel Maloney. Not to go into much details she had me in her office within 48 hours of my diagnosis and her staff had all of my appointments that I needed lined up back to back. She is very caring very detailed she went over everything from beginning to end. Her staff called me back whenever I had concerns with answers. After my surgery I got concerned and called her office after hours and she answered the call from home. This lady is amazing I had the best experience with her and her team. If I could give her more than 5 stars I absolutely would. Thank you Dr Nashida and staff.

Dr. Nishida is a kind and compassionate doctor and a highly skilled surgeon. I had surgery with her to remove a uterine polyp and I received the best care from start to finish. Her staff is kind and caring as well. Highly recommend!

Dr Karen Nishida is a dedicated, caring physician and a brilliant surgeon. She combines expertise with a commitment to the well being of all her patients. You could not find a better combination in a physician, I highly recommend her. In addition her office staff exhibits the same kindness and respectful demeanor.

True rating 2.5. Dr. Nishida saw me for a consultation within 2 days of my uterine cancer diagnosis. She was very kind during the office visit, and answered all of our questions. Surgery (total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy) was performed 3 weeks later by Dr. Nishida. After surgery, it was as if I no longer existed as her patient. I had surgery on a Friday morning and was discharged that afternoon. No one called to check up on me until Monday at 4 pm. I never had an in-person follow up exam and only learned I had external stitches once I found them at home. I called Dr. Nishida to inquire about the stitches, which she confirmed I had. I had to call Dr. Nishidas office 6 times to get my pathology. It took 10 days to get my results, which is an eternity when you want to know if you need further treatment (which I did). During our virtual discussion about the pathology she was very vague about the staging. She said her office would take care of all the appointment moving forward and the office ended up make zero appointments. I requested my pathology and surgical notes so I could transfer to MSK. The documents were not on the portal and the office worker could not release the documents without the doctor, so we had to drive to office to pick them up. It was not until we read the pathology report at home, that we understood the true staging (which was stage 3).

Dr. Nishida is one of the very best doctors i have ever met. She is extremely skilled, knowledgeable, caring and highly regarded in her field. I have known her through the years and not only has she assisted me but also many of my family members and friends. For this reason, I have given her 5 stars because she truly makes you feel cared for and makes you feel you are in the very best of hands. I would recommend her again and again.

Just this past month, my regular gynecologist advised me that I had a very large ovarian cyst. Upon doing some bloodwork, it appeared as though I had elevated markers for cancer. She recommended me to Dr. Nishida for what I thought would be the first step in a very long journey. My gynecologist wanted to have this addressed immediately and Dr. Nishida’s staff did everything in their ability to get me seen as quickly as possible. They were extremely caring and sensitive to me at a time when I was scared and unsure what was going to happen. Three days later, I was in the office and having my first appointment with the doctor. I immediately felt comfortable and at ease in her office. Her staff and nurses all carry themselves very professionally but at the same time are warm and compassionate. Dr. Nishida herself, is extremely professional and thorough. Her office is high-tech and very clean. She answered each one of my questions and concerns, in a clear manner that I understood and never felt rushed. She put me at ease and was able to determine, after she did some further testing in her office, with a good amount of certainty, that it wasn’t a cancer issue. In my case, I didn’t have too many options but Dr. Nishida explained what the best course of action was and I felt extremely comfortable in the decision we came to together. I was however, going to need a full hysterectomy and she wanted to do it the very next day. Her staff worked tirelessly with my insurance company to get approvals for surgery immediately. They were amazing! Dr. Nishida did my surgery the next morning and did a phenomenal job. I was out of the hospital in 24 hours and was feeling good. I’m 3 weeks postop and I’m recovering very nicely. I am extremely fortunate as all my pathology came back cancer free. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr. Nishida and her staff to any one of my friends or family. I am forever grateful that she was the doctor that took care of me during this frightening time.

It isnt often that I write reviews, but in this case I feel the need to tell everyone looking for a doctor in Gynecologic Oncology that Dr. Nishida is the absolute best there is! From the moment I was referred to her, she made the experience easy and painless.. I had a full hysterectomy and didnt even need painkillers afterward because of the precision and care Dr. Nashida took. She is incredible- comforting, thorough and patient. Look no further!

I just moved to CT and was looking for a good Obgyn. Dr. Nishida was referred to me by Greenwich Hospital and I cant say enough how happy am I. Dr. Nishida is very attentive, knowledgeable and professional. Her office is super cozy and stylish. Shes always polite, explain everything in details so I feel confident having her taking care of me.

I recently moved to the US and had been suffering with heavy periods due to a fibroid that had regrown after surgery in Australia. I was in a pretty desperate state - anemic and exhausted. Dr Nashida was wonderful from the first consult to the last. The operation was explained in full - hysterectomy leaving ovaries - and it was carried out so well I only needed Tylenol for a couple of days after. Its been a week and a half now and I am just so much happier. I can highly recommend her.

I will never recommend this doctor. She’s rude and didn’t listen and has bad manners. She performed a very bad surgery on me and the results were very bad, it has caused lots bad outcomes after the surgery, such as pain and bleeding and infectio, and I can’t function well for long time …..

Dr. Filor my gyno recommended Dr. Nishida after an ultrasound showed a cyst on my right ovary that was suspicious and warranted a tumor marker blood test and a visit with an ocology gyno. After meeting with Dr. Nishida she recommended a biopsy of the ovarian cyst. I went for a second and third opinion, first to Yale, Dr. Ratner, and then to Johns Hopkins, Dr. Fader - both stated that YOU NEVER BIOPSY A OVARIAN CYST for risk of spreading the disease. My oncologist, Barry Boyd, also confirmed this. I have a history of multiple cancers - breast, colorectal and melanoma. I do not recommend this doctor.

Dr. Nashida is a very thorough and talented surgeon, with a wonderful manner. Dr. Nashida was kind and very supportive throughout my surgery process. Her office staff is also kind and supportive.

Very competent and kind. Helped take care of my mother and was not only very skilled but also had a nice bedside manner.

Worked with dr. nashida at local hospital. she is an excellent and compassionate doctor, would refer my own family to her.
