AFC Urgent Care Vernon

From the moment I called the office I was treated with kindness and excellent customer service. Diamond was wonderful on the phone as well as when I was arrived. She was also very professional and kind as while she performed my intake as a new patient, took my vitals, and communicated the information to me that she would be documenting in my chart. All of the front office and back office staff where professional, pleasant, kind, & communicated very well. The provider who evaluated me, Irina Collins, PA listened to me, explained her diagnoses & treatment well and made sure I understood my discharge instructions and how to take the new prescriptions I was prescribed. Over all excellent experience. Thank you to the staff!

As soon as I walked in noticed the place was very clean. Thank you for accommodating me. Everyone there yesterday was professional attentive and caring. Dr Sykes you are very easy to talk to and very informative going the extra mile making sure I understood what was going on in the moment. I had never wanted to entertain driving to Vernon to be seen but I had such a great experience that it will now be one of my choices to go there. Didn’t have to wait long either. Thank you from the front desk to assistant to the doctor. You guys rock!!😃

On The 8/8/2024 I took my Daughter to the AFC Urgent Care to get her physical done. From the moment we enter the room we was greeted with such warm welcome by the receptionist, She was so kind and explained everything to us and even helped us with our registration. Then follow by the medical assistance she took such great care of my daughter. She talk with my daughter and laughed with her while takeing care of her. After that the Doctor came to us and explained the entire physical checked up to us. She was so nice and smiling a lot she had us cracking up. My experience was amazing at the AFC urgent care. ❤️

Professional, courteous staff. Easy check- in, short wait time. Batoul was particularly kind and personable.Ultimately though, they werent sure what was wrong with me.(short of doing more testing-I think for financial reasons). But everyone there did a fine job.

I was greeted immediately upon arrival. The wait was less than expected and my vitals were taken quickly. The doctor, Sarah, came in to the room with a smile and we discussed my situation with ease. She listened to my concern and gave her assessment quickly. The overall interaction was less than 10 minutes and I was out the door with a resolution to my problem. Sarah was wonderful and I would gladly go back when any other issues arise. Highly recommend. Especially the doctor Sarah.

Upon entering building to leaving, staff was friendly . Liz P was the provider and was absolutely amazing. Staff provided care and comfort during this visit. I would highly reccomend then to family and friends. I will definitely be using this walk in again.

So on my most recent visit I ended up passing out from getting my blood drawn. It didnt hurt and Batoul was talking to me; honestly was the most pleasant blood draw ive had. Once I passed out though everyone was still so kind and supportive. Batoul was there the whole time for me holding my hand, wiping my sweat and tears. She was the mom I very much needed in that moment. Tyrike helped check my blood sugar as well as make sure I was comfortable. Elizabeth the Dr was wonderful as well, lots of care taken as well as the student who helped get me on to the bed but I unfortunately dont remember her name. Please never leave Batoul ❤️

Both of my feet were in a lot of pain. AFC in Vernon, CT assesed the symptoms I was experiencing, provided me with an accurate diagnosis, and prescribed the perfect medication to help combat the pain and inflammation. It was also a very smooth experience and I felt their compassion as well. ❤️

The staff was very professional and I was seated pretty quickly. They were informative and very nice. I will definitely go back there again.

Second time going for our little guy on a weekend. Quick and easy online booking, got us right in and seen by appropriate staff. staff were all so nice and friendly. The office was clean and welcoming. Will definitely go again if we can’t get in to our pediatrician!

During my visit, the staff was very professional, caring and understanding. Everyone went above and beyond to help me. I would highly recommend going to this facility and if I do need to, I will definitely go to them first.

Great experience. Im not a resident of Connecticut, just visiting the state.As a walk-in I registered and checked in from my phone. Waits were very short. The medical staff was very friendly, professional, and thorough. I was well attended to. Based on my experience, I highly recommend AFC - Vernon.

Cleanest Urgent care I’ve ever been to or medical facility in general. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Everyone explained things and were able to help my situation and send me on my way. If ever injured again will definitely go here rather than anywhere else

It may have taken 3 hours for the visit but glad I was able to talk with someone the same day with no appointment. Staff are very professional and knowledgeable.

This is one of the few medical facilities where Ive had good experiences every time. The people who work here are friendly, and you can fill out a lot of forms ahead of time. I do recommend this place if youre looking for a good urgent care.

The doctor saw me for exactly 9 whole minutes, didn’t even ask me about my symptoms, rash, fever, joint pain. I was sent away from Urgent Care with “Back Pain” I ended up in the ER two days later and a positive result of Lyme Disease. The care provider failed to adequately ask me questions and use critical thinking skills to find out what was going on. I also had to PAY for ALL of this information. if I could give you 0 stars, i absolutely would.Highly recommend just going to a regular PCP or Rockville General over this place.

These people are professional and patient. I came in having a good idea what was wrong with me and they didnt do the whole another web md expert/eye roll that is often experienced. Lost a star for the redundant check in process. The lady at the desk asked if id been there before, i said yes, she then went on to explain the sign in process as if i had answered no. I dont think she even listened to me, just read her script to me. But i got what i needed from medical staff in a fair amount of time.

Very efficiently run. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I was taken in quickly, thoroughly evaluated, and sent on my way with the prescription I needed within a short period of time.

Receptionist was welcoming. PA was very caring & helpful !! X-ray technician was good too. Very satisfied with my care/visit .

I would not recommend this place to anyone Horrible customer service. Showed up to the appointment on time. No one else was waiting to be seen just me. I get told they have to cancel my appointment because they don’t have enough staff. They also remained open for the rest of the day. So how you tell me you can’t see me for My appointment but yet remain open. While Looking at an empty waiting room I was shocked. I’m Glad it did happen because I went to a better urgent care who actually did the job.

Batoul was amazing with our daughter. She goes above and beyond to make her patients feel comfortable. AFC is our first choice for urgent care.

I think the check-in process takes too long.Other than that, the doctor was very nice and had us in and out of there. It is very, very clean and everybody is very, very nice.... I would highly recommend this place over a lot of places.

I have been receiving billing statements for a physical that I had back in September 2023. I have CT Medicaid Husky A insurance and you had that at the time of the visit.I should not be receiving a bill for any reason. And to make matters worse, I have left messages at the billing phone number and emailed the billing department to try to correct this with no response in return.I got a final notice today and this needs to be corrected immediately.

People are friendly and very professional, especially Ms Batoul made me feel welcome and very comfortable. She is efficient and values customers.

DOT Physical. The facility was nice and clean. The lady behind the counter was very friendly. The staff were very friendly and thorough for the physical while still managing to get me in and out in a timely manner.

Bp machine was not working right. Tech hooked up EKG Machine improperly. EKG was taken on a exam bed right against a wall. Also the table was not wide enough. My left arm keep falling off the table. Plus the doctor did not read her manual BP cuff properly. Other than that the staff was very pleasant

The staff at AFC were so sweet and caring. After being turned away by my normal doctors office for a scheduling issue, AFC Urgent Care took me right away and had the upmost customer service despite never having been there before. Thank you to everyone who saw me today and for your patience with my loss of voice. Not only was it a quick and easy walkin visit, but I got all the information I needed to treat my viral infection.

Having to get a DOT med card every year is like waking up to ground hog day everytime. Thanks for making it as easy as possible. Staff was great. The facility was clean and comfortable.

Dr Romero gave me excellent care. The staff was prompt, kind, and quick.

I liked them until one of the doctors told me I was over exaggerating. That’s a great thing to say to a patient what if you said that then they went home and died. Totally unprofessional. I’m never going there again and I will make sure everybody around me doesn’t either. No wonder this place has so many bad reviews that doctor made me cry because it’s hard for me to get to the doctor and that was a total waste of my time. Shame on you

My family has always appreciated the care we receive at AFC. They dont over prescribe antibiotics. They take time and listen to parents.

The staff was nice. Jeff the PA was nice as was the MA. My visit was pretty straight forward. I was in and out quickly. No complaints there at all. The front desk guy was pleasant.I was shocked I was brought into a room where the table paper was obviously used and torn by the last person., I sat in the chair. The MA didn’t offer to change it. She seemed to not notice it. Ewww. I work in a large ortho office and would never lead a patient into a dirty room and leave it. It takes 2 seconds to change paper.

I come to AFC when I need to be seen right away. They are caring, accurate and quick I have trusted AFC with my healthcare needs for years and wouldn’t imagine going any place else. 💜

Was recently rear-ended while my car was in a stopped position a few days ago. Being a newspaper carrier, the rear of my vehicle loaded with multiple newspaper bundles weighing about 20 lb each all flew forward hitting the back of my head leaving me with really bad headaches. Also, diagonal area across my left shoulder/central chest/right abdominal area where seat belt had been was very sore/tender. Wanted to get checked out just to make sure there were no indicators of something more severe in those areas as well as nothing else completely unnoticed by me. Woman at front desk very nice/professional, preliminary nurse pretty much straightforward in obtaining info/BP/Temp from me, and Physician Nicole was very thorough in examining me both physically (looking for potential neck/spine injury indicators) and neurologically (checking eye, motor, and basic cognitive function looking for indicators of whether heavy paper bundles hitting back of my head potentially attributed to concussion). Was very pleased with her thoroughness, professionalism, and, most important to me, her warmness in reassuring me after I apologized for potentially wasting peoples time as I initially felt my injuries may not be too severe. Thank you to everyone there this past Saturday afternoon.

I went there for my eyes that had been itching and burning for 3 weeks. The Pat a Day did not solve the issue. Saw eye specialist today. Have severe contact dermatitis. Have been prescribed Rx and cream for my eyelids.

Low cost, short wait, and quality service. The way it should be. I really appreciate how our privacy and personal choices are respected.

Other than the wait, everything was great. Clean, nice friendly people. Easy check in. However I arrived at 4, only 1 person ahead of me, left at 5:50. Had a total of 18 minutes with an actual person provider. Staffing would be helpful to get people in and out quick. Especially when you are just there for a quick test.

When I got to the clinic Sinan Was great help, knowledgeable and polite. He answered all my questions. I would recommend this clinic to everyone on this experience alone. Dr. Was great too.

Had to bring my father who has dementia in to this facility and they were extremely pleasant and patient while we were in there and I would recommend it highly if you need a quick solution

Very professional place. Ive had bronchitis for a few weeks my regular doctor couldnt get me in so I decided to try this walk-in clinic. I didnt need an appointment they got me in right away. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the place was clean. Doctor was very professional and got me my diagnosis and thats right away.I will definitely go to this place again! Only thing I didnt like was the tablets that you have got to sign in with little confusing

This place is by far the worst. Dont ever go there for your D.O.t test they told me I needed to get my doc to fill out some papers then bring them back when I did they told me they wasnt going to sign my d.o.t cause the doc that seen me wasnt there so I have to chase this doc around all over just to get my d.o.t papers signed

Clean office and rooms and courteous staff in front. It was easy to register online and make an appt. I had to work so it was flexible to change my appt time to evening. I was seen right away and no paperwork or anything since I did it online. Alex and staff were caring and I got X-rays and all my questions answered. I highly recommend this place. My husband and I came here before and had a good experience as well.Went again today, walk in 4/1/24 for persistent cough and everything was great. Quick service, clean, fully staffed, courteous and professional. 5 stars again.

Its not anyones favorite place to be, thats for sure. If we were able to be seen same day by our regular pediatrician we wouldnt have come in, but this was our option. The medical staff are kind, they listen, and seem to want to help.The front desk staff seems to like to hang out in the back and chat while a line forms of sick patients who needed to check-in out front, so that was disheartening. Overall I understand that maybe its not the happiest place to work either, however time is of the essence when your little one is sick, so to see any staff standing around, when just 2 hours ago we stood waiting for 20+ minutes at the counter to be checked in is just shameful.Go if you must.

There was confusion on when I had an appointment so waiting took almost 2 hours. However, the care and treatment I got was great. They verified my issue and gave me the medications to treat my symptoms. Everyone was very kind and helpful. I would recommend AFC to others.

The guy who helped me check in was a huge help. I had a few questions, while feeling sick, and he made me feel a lot better about being there and working through some troubles.

I just moved to CT 2 days ago and haven’t even gotten situated in my home yet.Suddenly I had an urgent need to see a doctor and I was very apprehensive and worried about the care I’ll receive.From the moment I walked in, as soon as they opened at 8, the caring man at the front desk couldn’t be more understanding and handled the check-in process super fast.I was seen immediately by a nurse, and then the doctor.No time was wasted and I was sent on my way with the proper prescription sent instantly.I must say this team of amazing professionals have my 100% approval.If you have an urgent need, and seek a compassionate, caring and knowledgeable group of care professionals, select this place.I’m definitely going back there if I ever need urgent care again.

Came for a DOT physical, drug test and hair follicle test. They got me in super quickly, THANK YOUUUU! I didn’t have to waste my whole day to do this! Esra **(so sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was so friendly and kind the whole time and Esra** and Batoul thank you so much for really being courteous about the hair follicle collection. When I have to renew my med-card I’m coming back here for their exceptional services. I can’t thank you enough!!

Was told wait was 7 to 22 minutes...was next waited over an hour with a screaming child. Then waited even longer for test results. Should have gone to the minute clinic at CVS save yourself if you have options.

Excellent staff all the way around. Sliced the finger open, normal urgent care care wait time. Ended up being a bit light headed ( eat before you get injured - highly recommend it) staff was attentive and kind enough to consistently check in and give updates on wait times etc. they stayed way past closing, and that didn’t impact the care given. I hopefully never need to come back but if I do I know where I’m going.P.S. thanks for the orange 👌

Very unhappy with the visit. I am generally not a person to complain or leave a bad review, but the care from the physician here was awful. The check in person and medical assistant were great. Wait was not bad and overall the process of getting an appointment was excellent. The physician I saw, I am not sure of his name as he never introduced himself, could not have been less impressive. I went in for cough and chest tightness/sob just under 2 weeks after having covid and flu. I saw him for maybe 2 minutes. He asked me what my symptom was and if I smoke. Literally nothing else. He could not have seemed less interested in listening or helping me. I was told my lungs are fine go home and gargle salt water? It was a complete waste of time, money, and overall very dissapointing experience. I was genuinely concerned for my health and I dont believe I have received such poor care from a doctor. I work in healthcare and rarely ever seek medical attention as i know most symptoms can be treated at home and take some time to resolve. Although the rest of the process was fine and, I would never go here again and risk having the same provider.

This place was exceptional in the service they provided. I was seen in less than ten minutes by a staff that was caring and even entertaining which is needed sometimes when you are not feeling well. I would recommend them highly

After checking in, we had an hour wait. We could leave and come back so we ran a few errands and made it back for our allotted time. They took us right in upon our return, however we had to wait an additional hour to see the doctor. The doctor came in, didnt listen to what my daughters symptoms were, looked at her throat and immediately said she had strep. She had no fever, her throat didnt hurt and he didnt swab for strep. She has a sinus infection not strep. We did get antibiotics. But after waiting for an hour to see the doctor, he didnt listen, gave her a wrong diagnosis and rushed us out the door. Not sure I will return.

Sinan and staff were Quick and Efficient - easy same day exam process.

I came in for severe ear and eye pressure, felt like a sinus infection coming on. My ears were bothering me so much I was getting woozy and couldn’t drive. Dr. Sheikh saw me and it was the most dismissive and unprofessional experience I’ve ever had there. They are usually wonderful. The doctor looked at my ears and throat and said “everything looks fine, i’ll write the discharge paperwork.” The entire interaction was less than 3 minutes. Absolutely no further questioning, suggestions, or attempt to treat. I stopped him as he tried to leave and reminded him that I needed help and couldn’t even drive because of the dizziness caused by the ear pressure. He said he would write a script for anti vertigo. He was attempting to treat the one symptom not the actual issue. I left and went to a walk in down the road. The doctor actually assessed me and told me I did infact have a sinus infection and gave me steroids and antibiotics that helped relief my discomfort. AFC has always been great and I’ve never had an issue with them before. But Dr. Sheikh couldn’t care less about his patients. I understand that this is a minor illness, but that is what walk in clinics are for and I would expect the doctor to at least attempt to do his job. Now I will have a bill with no care actually provided.

If Im not feeling well, this is the place I want to go to. They are always prompt and theres hardly any wait time. And the people there are very caring and kind.

Great people and staff!But I dont think Ive ever waited less than 2hrs for a walk in visit even when I was second in line upon entry (according to the cue system when I checked it)The care and turn around time for tests, once admitted, have always been quite good. So maybe theyre just understaffed for the demand they get, which speaks more about the failures of our healthcare system and how urgent care centers are filling a gap they werent meant to...

Place was not busy as I was a walk-in and found that everyone was friendly and it was an easy check in. They took good care of me and listened to my issues. Nurse practitioner was caring and professional. I plan to recommend this place to others. They were great!

I went back to have stitches removed after they put them in 10 days ago. Upon arrival I fill out a digital tablet with all my info, gave back to the person that gave it to me. After 40 MINUTES that same person ask me if she could help me!!!!!. She had no idea who I was and apparently some how lost my information. Had to wait 10 more minutes then brought into the examination room. Where I waited 15 minutes for the P.A. . I have no problem with him he was just to busy for one person. Very nice guy who did a great job.

Been here a few times, usually is possible to get an appointment same day. The staff has always been nice. Disappointed in provider today as he seemed rushed and disinterested and didn’t do much of a check and said my son was fine. I called back as my son was coughing really bad and complaining about his ear and asked if we should come back and the staff said they would consult the provider, but then told me the provider was being difficult and advised me to come back tomorrow when a different provider would be there. I asked to have the provider call me when he was free but he never called. We went to the Minute Clinic later that same day and the nurse practitioner treated my son and said he had significant fluid behind the ear that in pain. They were much more thorough. I’ve had better providers at AFC before, but very disappointed in this visit.

Terrible. Waste of time. Have covid positive test result. So much ear pressure and head pain. Told staff my symptoms and that I’m prone to sinus infections. Dismissed my concerns and who I am. Took about 3 minutes for entire appointment.

Had my first experience today. What an absolute pleasure…from entering the front door, thru exam to exit. Young lady at the front desk was such a sweet peach. I’ve worked with the public for 50 years and anyone would want her on their team. Doctor was so pleasant, thorough and patient in listening, as well as the Medical Assistant . Not in a hurry to prescribe and instead gave me accurate alternatives. The facility is bright and immaculate. I would not ever hesitate to go there again when I can’t reach my own doctor. And I must say, the registration for an appointment (should you choose one) is the easiest one I’ve ever had to do. 10 stars if they were available

The staff was friendly, and funny. They had me laughing even though I was feeling ill. They did such a great job I told them, Dont take this the wrong way, I hope to never see you all again.

I had a great experience with the tech and the APRN. The front desk person was not eager to help me with the check in process. I felt that this position should have been staffed with a friendly and energetic person.

The wait was a little while but overall they solved my problems.

I was happy with their service. They had a very small wait and took care of me immediately. They treated me for pneumonia this time. Took their prescribed drugs and started feeling better immediately at night. Been there quite a few times and always seem to get professional results.

My appointment was made on-line and AFC Urgent Care Vernon notified me several times that they were on schedule. Thankfully, there was no waiting in a crowded reception area.Receptionist, nurse ‘s aide, and doctor were friendly and professional. All went smoothly; I was in-and-out in a very reasonable time. I would use this urgent care again in the future.

Called 1st about obtaining an X-ray to rule out a possible fracture and was advised to come in for an evaluation and X-ray. Open till 5pm. Upon arrival at 4:12pm was advised too late for an X-ray report. Receptionist had a poor attitude and obviously wanted to leave work early. Not at all impressed!

Went in at 12 PM. Was told to set an online appointment so I set one for 2:00 PM. Which doesn’t really matter because they’ll accommodate all the people that walked in before and didn’t set an appointment. 30 minutes past 2:00 PM and still haven’t been able to see a urgent care staff. 4 hours of waiting. 2:00 pm appointment wasn’t not able to see me until 3:00 PM. And an hour and sit for a “15 minute” test result

This was my 1st visit to this walk-in clinic. The front desk receptionist was helpful (didnt get her name) with the admission process. It was a quick registration via a text with a link to enter my personal information online using my cell phone. Bring your ID & Insurance card. I was seen immediately after I completed my registration process. The medical staff was pleasant & helpful. Batoul took my vitals & and tests, and Liz Pelletier, APRN, finished my exam. Both were cheerful, friendly, and knowledgeable of the illnesses circulating in our community. A prescription was sent directly to my pharmacy & off I went to rest and get well. I do think its a great place to go for a quick exam when you are sick or need a covid test instead of sitting in the hospital ER for hours or waiting days for an open appointment with your PCP. I will refer others to this location and will likely use their services in the future, as needed.

I was waiting for 3 hours for the doctor to tell me literally nothing about my child concern then I had to go to Hartford childrens emegency right after totally waste of my time

It was great except for the check in. Do not like having to do the reseptions work. It is stress enough to have to be there and you are adding that stress of figuring out the check in. I will probably go to another urgent care because of that. Everything else was Excellent.

Quick and excellent service. The front desk woman was incredibly helpful, kind and aware. The nurse that took my vitals was gentle, understanding and very informative. My doctor was excellent. She was incredibly charming, well-informed and quick. From start to finish this was the best walk-in clinic experience Ive ever had in all of CT. I felt heard, well- cared for and they were sure to be cautious and aware of my penicillin allergy at each step of the way to ensure my safety. You guys hit it out of the park. Thank you!

Got there at 8am when they opened, and waited 1 hour in the waiting room, and another hour in the exam room. 30 minutes into my wait in the exam room I asked if I had been missed and was told I would be seen next. They only seemed to have a sense of urgency as I walked out the door. The physician didnt seem to care at all that he had missed a patient. I plan to dispute the copay as no care was actually provided. I do not recommend this office as patient care is clearly not the priority dispite all outward appearances.

I had a serious sinus infection. Was in and out not much wait time. Very satisfied with the outcome. The digital registration was long and cumbersome it includes taking and uploading pix of license,ins card. All in all about 1 hours out the door with prescriptions called in for pick up. Very satisfied

I went this weekend for a case of pink eye. I registered online got there was seen right away and prescribed antibiotics. I’ve taken my uncle here three or four times and they’ve always been wonderful. He’s 83 years old and has a number of medical issues, and if they can’t resolve it there then they tell me to take him to the hospital. I can honestly say I’ve never had a negative experience

From the front desk person to the nurses and Dr that was working that day, were all very caring and compassionate. They took time to listen to me and made sure to get all the information without rushing. They are very busy and still took me in as a walk in. I felt better in a few days and would highly recommend this facility.

The staff is very courteous and professional. The APRN listen to my concerns and provided appropriate consultation medications which work and I feel considerably better!

I went for strep symptoms after the first urgent care I went to told me it wasn’t strep. It felt like strep. I was told AFC was the better place to go. The receptionist was pleasant so that’s why they get a star. Otherwise it would be none. The medical assistant incorrectly swabbed me for Covid and claimed to be back in ten minutes. While waiting the “doctor” came in (didn’t introduce himself as doctor so I am left to assume) and asked my symptoms. I gave him all my symptoms he looked in my throat and made a comment about seeing something on my tonsils. I had my tonsils removed many years ago. When I informed him of that his response was simply “oh”. He then said he wasn’t sure what was going on. Asked me if it was possible I burned my mouth or throat by eating something hot or spicy. Totally dismissing all my other symptoms. He left the room and I sat there for over 30 min and no one came back. I never got my Covid test results which wouldn’t have been wrong anyway since the test wasn’t administered correctly. After waiting over 30 mins I walked out. One of the most infuriating experiences I’ve had with medical personnel. As I walked out I saw the medical assistant sitting at a desk plying on his phone. I am 100% sure I was completely forgotten about.UPDATE: I ended up going to the ER and was told almost immediately that I had strep. Finally got treatment for it.

This place is the definition of URGENT. Check in was simple and quick. The wait time was minimal and the staff is extremely professional and thorough.

My husband just left this place….he has had a persistent productive cough following Covid for 9 days that has progressively been getting worse….over the counters are not working. I told him to go and see if he could get something prescription to help since the cough had gotten so bad and it’s the Sunday before Christmas. First, he got there at 8….they are supposed to open at 8. No one was there. They came rolling in at 8:40am. The PA or whoever he saw there sent him home and said gargle with some salt water and “ride it out”.I have been a RN for 20+ years and I work in healthcare regulation. On what planet, when a patient presents with worsening cough and shortness of breath failing OTCs, do you tell them to gargle with salt water and ride it out? How long? Until the patient goes into respiratory distress? Lazy practice at best…..medical negligence at worst. I can’t. Never again……HHC urgent care from now on.

Fell through a deck and was able to go right away took care of me very fast

I was shocked they put my daughter and husband together in the same room even though they both checked in separately to be seen. The doctor was very rude to my husband in front of us. Prescription for antibiotics also came with no directions on the frequency to take them. No directions on the discharge paperwork either.

Everyone here was very kind and caring.They worked hard to make it a painless process for me. The office was clean and the wait time was minimal. Thanks for your being there for me on a Saturday morning!

Provider was very nice, as was the medical assistant. The front desk was very unsociable. She checked me in and said if you have a copay I will call you up. I told her I do, it is on the insurance card for $35. She just ignored me. When I left she was too busy on her phone to even look up. I guess this is the kind of help we all have to look forward to now.

HORRIBLE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIMEI recently went there and gave them a second chance because I already had a bad experience, and they just proved to be even worse. I was experiencing nausea and side effects from a medication, upon arrival, I asked the woman at the front desk if they had the ability to administer an IV at this location she was rude and didn’t answer my question and said they don’t normally do that and I said OK, but do you have IV bags here and if the doctor decides to do you have? I haven’t drank or ate anything and haven’t been able to hold anything down and days. I am dehydrated and I need you to be sure so can you please double check before I sit here and wait to be seen or I will go elsewhere. She “checks” and tells me yes just so I can sit there for 40 minutes over a trash can suffering to be called in back and be told they don’t even have someone who can administer an IV nor do they have any. Very rude and ghetto staff don’t waste your time not sure how they’re even in business.

My first time experience at AFC Urgent Care in Vernon, CT was a positive one. They were professional, pleasant and worked in a timelymanner. From start to finish it was a smoothand comfortable encounter.I returned a second time only to be more impressed than my original visit. The office staff was helpful in assisting with the electronic application. My wait time was brief & Fatma, the girl taking my preliminary vitals was pleasant & efficient. The PA/Doctor was excellent in her care & diagnosis of medicine to meet my needs. I was more than happy with my visit to this Urgent Care office in Vernon.

My experience was excellent. Even though there was about a 3 hour wait I was able to sign in, fill out paperwork and then return home and wait for my turn. Having worked in urgent care in the past I understand the challenges the providers and staff are faced with. All staff were friendly and professional. Congratulations to a job well done.

Going on 4 hrs of waiting for an eye injury. The woman who was here an hour before I arrived had a bleeding dog bite she waited 3 hrs to be seen. You can walk in and have instant urine tested but if you are actually injured bleeding or partially blind avoid at all costs. Staff is nice but just go to any other hospital or walk in. I guarantee Ill be here 5+ hrs before my eye is looked at.

I never thought I would be leaving a review for an urgent care but I was so impressed with AFC Urgent Care in Vernon that I had to. From the pleasant people at the front desk, to the paperless registration to the medical staff who treated me, I had nothing but a fantastic experience. And quick, too!

Kind, fast & efficient! Everyone I came in contact with, Reception, Nurse to PA were all excellent. They all listened, took the time to ask questions and to explain everything.

What a waste of time. First let’s start with the receptionist she was super impatient and not knowledgeable about anything. Literally had the nerve to ask me if I think I need x-rays. How would I know that?? That is why I’m coming to your office for advice. The assistant was nice took his time and communicated and tried to help as best as he could. But then the doctor was absolutely horrendous did not do anything at all. Came in the room asked what was wrong and then dismissed me telling me there was nothing he can do. All he said was to go to my PcP like how are you a doctor and have no advice to give at all then just proceeded to tell me he’s gonna have to dismiss me because “he can’t do nothing” terrible doctor I’m surprised both him and that receptionist is there. I will be filling a complaint and will never go there to waste time or money. They are very impatient and will literally do what they have to do to get you out of there quickly without any effort. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO HERE!!!

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. She was able to multitask in all was. The nurses are kind and patient with the patients. The provider was friendly, gentle and informative.

They are extremely slow and don’t care about people’s time! I had saved a two o clock spot and waited until almost 4! There was another person that walked in after me named Shawn and they called Shawn and mixed us up! How do you not know that you have two Shawn’s in line and then not ask last name. The girl that works there is unprofessional and lazy.

Was seen at my actual appointment time, did not have to wait at all. Staff was friendly, efficient and got me in and out. Would definitely recommend.

The MA swabbed for the flu, and I swear, that swab went so deep, it caused a nose bleed. He admitted that he swabbed the wrong patient with my name as well. Providers were thorough and polite.

I got here only to be told they werent taking any more walk-ins.

Grossly incompetent in prescribing completely ineffective medications for the symptoms that were visibly present.

I went in because I had a rash on most of my body and did not know where it came from. The PA that I had was very nice and asked questions. He took a look at all them spots on my body and could not figure it out either. He did let me know what it wasn’t. Which was a relief to know. Ordered some prednisone and hope it will help. I need to stop itching!!!

This is most definitely the only urgent care I will be going to from now on. No wait at all I was seen almost immediately after checking in. The staff and Dr. Delgross are so kind and caring. Thank you all for your amazing service 😊

The staff was friendly and as helpful as they could be, but waiting nearly 7 hours to take a COVID rapid test was inconvenient to say the least. They advertise walk-ins only (not appointments) for rapid tests, which entails showing up, signing in, and waiting in your car until youre called in. Fortunately I only live a few mins away and was able to go home and wait, because I dont know how they can expect you to wait that long in the parking lot. I understand that other patients will get prioritized for more urgent issues, but this really should be made clear up front so that expectations and potential wait times are more clear.When I did finally get in, the consultation room was dirty and clearly not cleaned before I came in (old paper sheets still on the bench). Not a great experience overall.

I visited for what should have been a quick and easy COVID test. I went in a few minutes before my appointment to drop off paperwork. I was told to wait in my car. I waited for over two hours, while I saw a steady stream of walk ins be seen. The staff were friendly and answered my questions. Unfortunately, the wait times are way too long. If Im expected to be on time for an appointment, everyone else should to.

Nice facility and super clean. Beyond excellent care even a half hour before closing. All staff from reception to X-ray to the Doc were warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely go back if the need should arise. Thank you for such excellent and empathetic care. Mostly, thank you for letting me know the time was not an issue that-that’s what you were there for. Very impressive.

I went there this morning , and the medical assistant was very nice to me , but I have waited more than a hour for the nasty nurse or PA I don’t who she was . Came to the room with very bad actitud, looking me funny not friendly try to rushing out the there I asked her why she is like that and her answer was that she was very busy and she was the only one there , well that is not my problem , if she doesn’t like her job work in somewhere also , this is not the way to treat the patients, we not feel good we go over there to be taken care , not to be treated nasty she make me sick and more that I was I was very upset with her . I never will there ever again I not need to be treat that way ok maybe my age I don’t know , I ‘m the patient who when over there , I paid with my insurance what is her problem look me like she have lemons in her face or maybe angry with her husband or boyfriend I don’t know it was very disappointed with my care . Excellent from start to finish. Much easier process to get a DOT exam than with Hartford Healthcare. Definitely recommend.

Went for a COVID test. Everything was simple and self explanatory. Their set up was safe and clean (sign up sheets at tent, fill out in your own car, they call you to get additional information, then come out to your car to test you). The staff that helped me is the reason for the 5 stars. I had a hiccup with my insurance card (wasn’t my new updated one) women who helped me was amazing. Tried a different card for me and then explained to me what to do. She did not turn me away. She had no problem with me getting everything figured out and finishing up right were we started. I greatly appreciated that because I did not want to have to come back. And the guy who gave me the test was so nice! (which was amazing in my book because I was not to happy to get a stick put up my nose). He explained how the test was going to work and told me to just breathe through my mouth and counted down when he knew I was starting to get uncomfortable. Wish I knew both of their names, I would give them a shout out!

They dont take appointments for Covid testing; I was told to come on down. While this is convenient, after arriving and filling out the paperwork, I was asked if I had been told that there would be a lengthy wait; I had not. I asked how long, and she said 1 - 2 hours. There were only 3 people in the waiting room. Once we finally got in, the staff were pleasant, efficient, and informative. This would have been a higher review were it not for the lengthy delay in being seen.

The level of care was fine but the billing practices are either dishonest, or at a minimum completely disorganized. Twice I received the first bill approximately 1 year after service noted “final statement before further action”, with no evidence that they ever submitted it to my insurance which I provided at time of care. I will not be returning.

Aside from the hour long wait after my appointment time the appointment went well. The nurse and doctor were great. I was diagnosed and released.

The staff was very friendly & helpful from the time of check-in.. the waiting room was very clean, as were the bathrooms.. once in a room, the medical assistants were quick & thorough. The male assistant came in to check on me, keep me informed about my wait time, & offered me coffee or water more than once. Lovely touch when waiting & in pain. The doctor was also quick & thorough, but listened & asked all of the right questions. Working in the Medical Field for over 20 years, I must say this was a great experience from beginning until the end..

Front receptionist was very loud asking me about my personal information. Doctors was very friendly and attentive to me son’s needs. Overall a great urgent care fast. I would recommend the receptionist finds another way to ask personal questions.

The wait wasn’t too long. The receptionist was very pleasant. The nurses aid and the Doctor were also pleasant and through. I was impressed with them checking to make sure I didn’t have the flu. They also checked for all my allergies before prescribing any medication.Thank you for taking excellent care of me!!!!I feel so much better still having headaches but am taking Tylenol

I received the care I required in a timely fashion. The staff was extremely polite and professional and I would highly recommend anybody in need of medical attention visit.12/21/21- I went in for a rapid Covid test. Due to demand there is a long wait to be seen, at no fault of the staff. In the face of this mess they are conducting themselves safely and professionally. I tested positive and received all the proper information and medication for my needs. I highly recommend this facility, and I appreciate and have so much respect for the staff who are putting themselves in harms way every day to help the public. Youre wonderful folks and I wish you nothing but the best.

The AFC urgent care was there for us when we needed an Abbott fast covid test for travel. It was nice and clean and for once someone realized the value of bringing us back to the exam room all Together!It went fast and we were out of the doors in about 30 minutes. Yesterday I woke up feeling terrible &, since my doctors office was closed for the weekend, ended up going to AFC Urgent Care for treatment. I had never even heard of this urgent care but the other ones close by were closed. So I headed over. Though we are dealing with Covid, so I had to wait outside while others were processed, the line moved quickly & I was soon inside. They were friendly, not stressed even though they were busy. I appreciated how well all the staff seemed to get along. A very pleasant atmosphere. I didnt have to wait too long to be seen, and the PA listened carefully, was knowledgeable, & explained things clearly. I got the prescription I needed and was on my way in pretty fast order. So glad I chose to go to this urgent care and will go there again if I need to.

The kind, caring, calming and pleasant demeanor of all of the people I came in contact with was wonderful. When you’re not feeling all that well, all of those qualities matter a great deal.

I was able to make an appointment online and I didnt wait long to be seen. My vitals were checked and I was prescribed medication for the illness I had. Overall, my experience was positive.

William,the PA was wonderful. The staff were courteous and professional. However, there needs to be better organization so that the proper supplies and tools can be located quickly without having to hunt everywhere.

I’ve been to this clinic twice now and both times have been great. Best experience at a walk in Ive ever had. I was in a ton of pain and had been seen the day prior by my primary. They couldn’t tell me what was wrong so when it was worse the next day, I went to the walk in. The wait was a little long but it was due to the precautions they take while dealing with COVID-19. The doctor diagnosed my problem within 2 minutes and had the answers I needed about treatment. Very happy with everyone there and the care they provide.

First of all I was in the Vernon area for a dance competition my daughter’s studio was competing in. It was a long weekend. I have been to a few walk-ins in my area and this by far is the best all around! Jenny at the front desk was so very helpful and friendly. It’s hard to walk into a place like this and see someone smiling and wanting to help you. But there was her smiling face, many of them. I was treated quick and efficiently. They understood I needed to get back to the competition. Allison, the MA was knowledgeable and just all around fantastic. She addressed my issue and got me on my way quickly, but not in a rushing me out the door quick. Thank you both for making what could have been a horrible weekend, bright and shiny! I would recommend this walk-in in a heartbeat!! If I lived closer I would go there again since getting into my PCP’s office is next to impossible, even for in an urgent matter they say go to the ED or walk-in. A++++++

Very clean urgent care center. Everyone was very polite and helpful. The male nurse we had was amazing. Very nice and understanding. Took the time to listen and make my son feel comfortable.The doctor was also very nice and knowledgeable. She listen and offered advice that was relevant to the issue. The whole process of registering on line and being seen pretty much on time was amazing. We normally use Hartford healthcare urgent care but our experience here was way better then Hartford Healthcare. It’s more then just being knowledgeable about medical care. They made us feel important and that they wanted to help. Highly recommend 😊

Sympathetic staff, very clean and spacious examination rooms. I wouldnt have minded having my expectations set a little better with respect to length of time before being seen by the practitioner but Im not complaining. Fantastic urgent care facility - highly recommend!

Writing this as a neutral review - something you should know as a patient before going to an urgent care for pain management: theyre not going to give you something stronger than ibuprofen. Even if you have an active and documented infection and dental related pain, if youre already on ibuprofen and an antibiotic dont waste your time. Its sad, and I can see their side of it. There are plenty of meds that would help me, but they wont prescribe them because of the issues surrounding opioids. Understandable, that said, Im not a junkie - I would just really like to sleep for a night, long enough for the antibiotics to do their thing. Taking continuous high doses of ibuprofen and acetaminophen are not good for the body either, and theyve only made it barely tolerable.At the very least, asking someone who is currently in significant pain to answer the same questions three times and have them spend an hour in an exam room while knowing you cant help seems kind of inconsiderate. If you cant or wont provide help for the issue: just say that. Now I have an hour less to try to figure out how I am going to get the help I need today.

This was the second time I have needed AFC Urgent Care. Was impressed they were very knowledgeable in answering my questions. Their sign-in form usually asking me my whole life history was relatively short. Everyone said hi to me as I walked to the exam room, and the young lady who asked me questions before the doctor came in was very friendly. I really loved Mikayla who did the final examination. She explained what she thought was going on very thoroughly.

They were very nice and took care of my daughter and I very quickly. The Dr was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. He seemed to care and took great care of us both so we will have a speedy recovery. The nurse was very sweet and cared about our comfort. Thank you so much for fixing us!

The lab technician was excellent. The Doctor was nice, stopped bin to say hello. I do prefer that everyone had worn a mask at the facility BUT other than the lady at the front desk and visitors to the office no one else I encountered was masked. The office was very clean, not cluttered and modern inside. Plenty of parking. I need a COVID test (not the less reliable Rapid Test) for an acting gig and got the results in a timely 2 days as promised. #thevelvetloungelifeyoutube

The care was great once seen but the wait was way too long. The waiting room was empty and I still waited 40 minutes. Then I had to answer all questions verbally of the info I provided in the paperwork I had to fill out. They didn’t seem knowledgeable about possible drug interactions even after making me go through my medication list. Staff was very nice though. Except for the radiologist. He was loud and obnoxious.

I went in for a concern about a possible breast mass because I do not have a primary physician at the moment and I did not want to wait to get it checked out. The wait was a little long, but that was to be expected of a walk-in clinic. Once I got in, the doctor was quick and very understanding. They made sure I had a female in the room during the exam to make me fully comfortable. The doctor was very thorough, and even set up a follow up exam with a radiologist for me to ensure the mass was not cancerous. Absolutely recommend if you are not worried about having to wait a little bit.

I arrived at 8am and I did have to wait to be seen until 10am; however, it was the Saturday of a holiday weekend and I was expecting it to be busy! The staff and physician were all very friendly and helpful and I was able to get a prescription for the medicine I needed. I recommend this Urgent Care location!

They were very personable. They took the time to listen to me, as well as do a physical exam. They covered all the bases with a plan of care, including what actions they would take if I was not feeling better.

The folks at this facility are kind, calming and extremely efficient. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back. While they are busier and farther from us than other Urgent Care clinics, their professional service is worth the drive.

My daughter and I arrived 30 minutes before they opened and there were already 50 people in line. The employees were kind, explained the process and got us in as quick as they could. We waited in our car for 90 minutes and the process on the inside was smooth and we were done in less than 10 minutes. Highly recommend.

Ive been there with my kids before and its been great. When I went for myself on a Saturday afternoon, they told me itll be an hour,ok no problem. Waited in the waiting room for am hour and then ANOTHER hour in the exam room. I finally poked my head out and asked if I was going to be seen any time soon. Pretty sure they forgot about me 😒
