PhysicianOne Urgent Care Derby

We went in because my young daughter was having abdominal pain. The staff were friendly and worked quickly. I was pleased that they were ALL personable. We were in and out. Clean facility, friendly staff, quick service and efficient work, all just the way I love it!

The front desk and the medical assistant were awesome. The APRN walked in and sat down. She listened to my plight which was okay. I was in so much pain in my left shoulder and she never took a look at my shoulder. She ordered me a slings and referred me to Yale Orthopaedics. I had to asked her to prescribe Ibuprofen. I ended at Yale ED two hours later because the pain became unbearable. Thanks to the doctors that saw and help me.I don’t think I ever want to visit an urgent care again.

All the staff here are very professional and work hard to accommodate whatever needs you may have. From the receptionist, to the MA to Dr. Jillian, everyone was very attentive and actually care about your visit with them. They are all very thorough in their diagnosis and have a welcoming demeanor. I highly recommend Dr. Jillian. She was the best!

Didnt solve the issue. The nurse taking the history was compassionate but the NP that did my exam was not. Called 2 days later with a follow up question and they told me to come in, I said Id rather not, can you just ask the physician on staff today and call me back, they said yes and never did call back.

Not great. Was left waiting in exam room for over 30 minutes, despite appointment and no other people there on a Sunday morning. Then, because in addition to the issue that brought me there I had had a fever a few days before they felt that was too risky and sent me to Griffin hospital ER down the road, despite no current fever. Pointless visit and waste of money. Also, their payment terminal did not work.

We were visiting from out of town. It was easy to book a same day appointment. The receptionist was understanding when they had issues verifying my child’s insurance. She offered to call the insurance herself when I offered which was kind. We were able to send over the information showing proof of coverage. The medical assistant was nice and explained the timeframe for the testing they were doing. As we aren’t from the area, they recommended a pharmacy due to location. The provider was also great. Quick exam after the results came back and they sent the medication immediately resulting in me being able to pick it up within 10 minutes of leaving. Being out of town and sick sucks but glad there was a quick urgent care in the area.

Physician one urgent care in Derby is always a pleasant experience. This is my fourth time visiting them and they are always kind polite and courteous. My needs are always addressed and I always get a honest opinion and proper diagnosis. It doesnt get any easier than this, and I highly recommend Physician One.

Excellent experience despite of course my not feeling well. Everyone was extremely professional and pleasant. The lady at the counter was very kind and sweet. Always a great experience here. I won’t go to any other urgent care.

I was taken within 10 mins of arriving. X-ray tech was already on site as I arrived. X-ray was read by radiologist in a timely manner. Very friendly and pleasant staff. This was my first time using this urgent care. I would recommend this urgent care to family and friends.

Booking and check in were very good and the initial intake was good. I was dismissed by the provider as having a stomach bug, despite my symptoms that clearly ranged beyond that. My prescription for anti nausea meds was never received by either pharmacy I was told they were sent to. The provider never provided me with a work note as she said she would. I went to the ER later that night and had a 4 day hospital stay! I think it would be helpful for the providers to acknowledge the limitations of urgent care and make recommendations to seek more substantial care when necessary instead of dismissing patients and under diagnosing them.

Gets one star cause google makes you atleast put one star my opinion zero mins ten stars is what this place deserves. They couldn’t care about a patient any less I think. Me and four patients were being told in total we are looking at a 3-5 hour wait to be seen. Are you kidding me. I can’t speak on what others were there for. I went there for a simple strep throat test. I asked how long would something like that take. The lady at the front desk said I have no idea we are taking appointments first and we only have one physician on staff. So you’re gunna have to wait. Yes let me waste the entirety of my day waiting. This walk in is a joke they lie about everything, they have no organization in dealing with patients. Place is just a mess don’t waste your time going here.

The wait at this facility is extremely long. There was one other person in the waiting room and I waited over an hour to see the PA. I was extremely disappointed by the care provided by the PA. She did not seem to care much and knew very little about treatment. I will not be going back to this facility. Waste of my time and money. I have a feeling that my insurance is going to get a nonsense claim from this organization that will further take up more of my time to rectify. Very disappointing

I loved this place before and have used them several times prior. I scheduled a physical for my daughter for her daycare since her pediatrician doesn’t have anything for another 1-2 months. We need it urgently for her to stay in daycare. We made the appointment and it wasn’t until 2-3 hrs before the scheduled appointment that I get notified that they only do physicals for children in 1st grade and older. Nowhere on the website was there an age restriction noted and in fact it said “of all ages”. Highly disappointed at the lack of information on their site and the late notice. Had I known, I wouldn’t have spent the time looking into this place.

The treatment I got from the front desk to seeing the doctor was such a pleasant one. The nurse at the front desk made me feel so at ease after telling her my problem and felt even better when I left because all was well. Thank you so much Urgent Care. You do care

The front desk staff was very pleasant and friendly. The medical assistant was thorough and also really nice and friendly and compassionate. The nurse that saw was ver sweet and also thorough.

I normally have a great experience here. But sadly today took me by surprise. I came in for a doctors note for a sore toe/toe nail after having it slammed on by a piece of furniture 2 days ago. I felt like the technicians and doctor didnt take me seriously at all until I mentioned that I needed the note due to working at another medical facility. The doctor compared the way her sneakers fit and how they didnt touch her toes when I explained that I couldnt put on a normal shoe due the pain. I found that unprofessional and invalidating my complication I came in for. Additional to that, I overheard the technicians whispering and making comments including shes still here?, meaning me...... I hope that they are able to relearn how to be professional and provide proper client services. P.s. If your neighbor or friends advice you not to go there, please listen and take their advice. Dont be me!

My second time going here. First time I walked in took almost 2h. This time I scheduled online and was in and out under an hour. From reception desk to dr everyone was nice!

Excellent service. The nurse & doctor were so kind and caring. Check in was quick and easy. The reception greeted us as soon as we walked in.

I had an appt for 11:15 and was called in at 12:05. A Covid and flu test was taken and I was left in the room for another 40 minutes. Finally the Doctor came in, I felt rushed and my symptoms invalidated. I asked for my test results and was told she doesn’t have them because they’re too backed up and would call me later, no one ever called even after I called them again hours later, still never got a call back.***Management called to apologize, much appreciated!***

Not so happy with today’s visit. I think doctors should listen to someone my age (almost 63), and try to understand that I’m not like everyone else. I get that antibiotics should not be handed out Willy nilly, but I have an autoimmune disease. I know my body. Z-packs don’t work for me. And now I have to miss Father’s Day and my family is upset. Not a happy camper.

Each individual staff member I met with was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. The physicianwas especially helpful. In fact, based on my overall experience at this facility, this is where Ill go for any urgent care needs.

It was just ok. Long wait for not so good diagnosis. Had a rash on my arm and was told it was just poison ivy. I had never had that in my life. Prescribed a cream. Going to my primary doctor from now on.

This place has gone way downhill. At my most recent visit the provider wrote an antibiotic prescription wrong for my child. They were closing when we left, so we didnt find out until we went to the pharmacy. The directions had NOTHING to do with my childs symptoms, like they just copy pasted from someone else. For some reason they cant fix this through a virtual appointment and want my child to wait 16 hours from the visit before even correcting the prescription. Nobody even had the courtesy to call me back after 2 hours to tell me the provider couldnt fix it. They are irresponsible and callous. Do not trust them when it comes to the health of your children. If your primary is closed, youre better off going to the ER.

Physician One continues to provide good doctors and staff, which is why you should try them out when your regular doctor is not able to give you an appointment OR it is outside of his regular hours.

I went to physicians one because my doctor could not see me and I was having an intense migraine that was lasting all day. My appointment was at 3:30 and they took me in at 5:05. I had to sit with sunglasses on in the waiting room Because the pressure was so intense in my head . The medical assistant who took my vitals was fabulous and was very sympathetic. The doctor on the other hand came in looked at me and said “ So you have a headache?” I explained to her that it was not a headache that it was an intense migraine and that my new doctor could not see me. The first thing out of the doctors mouth was “ I’m not giving you any medication for this. I don’t know if you have a history of migraines and you need to see your doctor for that.” I already told her that I called the doctors office and that they could not see me and I don’t know if I want to stay with my current doctor because I only saw him once and I Don’t know how I feel about him. I was looking for some compassion and some help. I wasn’t asking for any medication that was a controlled substance. I just wanted a migraine pill that would dissolve my migraine because I had it all day. She literally dismissed how I looked and how I felt. I looked at the Dr and said “I just spent $100 to walk in here and the first thing you said to me was you’re not going to help me. I won’t be coming back here again. “ She told me that “I could always go to the ER if I was in that much pain “ and I told her that a visit to the ER would cost me another $100 and that I could not afford to spend $200 to get one pill to help dissolve my migraine. I came to the walk-in for help and I pretty much got dismissed.

A little rough at first when I arrived at my appointment time, which was scheduled the day before and confirmed online. The receptionist could not find my scheduled appointment. Wound up waiting 20 minutes beyond the scheduled time but it’s all good. Had a wonderful MA, Trinity, and an equally attentive and friendly PA, Kristen. The good service provided by both of them left a positive impression. I would recommend their services. Ty

Went to be treated for an embedded tick head that I could not remove. After being blown off by my primary care doctor, I called physician one. They usually try to schedule appointments but none were available, so I would have to sit and wait.Waited about an hour but was very satisfied with the care I received Everyone was pleasant, concerned, and competentWould highly recommend this facility

Horrible experience. Waited forever and had to leave with a “reservation” for 10 am the next day and was told we would be seen then. Returned the next day at 10 am and Still waited an hour and left again with my 5 year old. Also, that is just to see a PA. Not an MD. Complete waste of my time and I had to go back twice and was not seen either time. Would leave zero stars if possible.

Which was perfectly acceptable because the samples were collected and analyzed on-site in the office.Everything was clean.Everyone was polite and respectful.

I think this a very good care facility. Everyone was extremely helpful and professional. They were well staffed and very organized. I didnt have to wait long. The waiting room was very clean and inviting. The Dr was helpful and did not try to rush through my visit. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who requires urgent care.

I visited PhysicianOne Urgent Care to have my ears flushed due to wax buildup. I went in as a walk-in, not knowing about scheduling a visit & did wait 2 hours. Staff member Trinity flushed my ears, which were totally blocked & I could hear again. She & the doctor were extremely friendly & knowledgeable! I will definitely return to this facility if I need medical care, but next time I will make an appointment first.

I waited for over an hour to get into a room and get seen and then from there it was another 25 minutes. The only good thing was the doctor was awesome!

If u need a quick fix or just someone to help you through anything go here best urgent care in the valley, I went in cause my heart rate shot up and I went there all they did was tell me that I was fine and ok so this place is great best experience

This is a wonderful walk-in. Very kind, thorough caregivers and they saw me right away within 30 minutes of closing.

I took my 3 yrs old son to this place with a fever over 100 at 7:20 pm on a monday and they didnt want to see him because they were about to close at 8 pm and on top of that the lady in the front desk was offering me a virtual appointment, personally I feel when youre sick its better to see a doctor in person so they can determine th best course of action.

Everything was perfect and professional. No wait time and everyone was very kind. U could not ask for a better place.

I had a wonderful experience at Physician One this past week.Every single person I encountered was kind, helpful, courteous and completely professional - from the woman who checked me in, to the med tech who did my vitals and cultures. I didn’t spend much time with the provider, but she was lovely.These kind of experiences, sadly, seem to have become the exception to the rule.Physician One - you all knocked it out of the park today!!

The technical assistant was SO kind to me. She was patient, understanding, and non-judgmental. The on staff doctor, however, was absolutely awful to me. I went in to have tongue sutures removed, and she grabbed my tongue with both hands and repeatedly went oh my god... with a tone of bewilderment and disgust. She was so cruel and judgmental and rough. If you seek care here, try to stick to the assistants and tell that doctor to get the hell out of your exam room.

I went to the facility with a painful infection on my thumb, next to my fingernail. It was so uncomfortable after a week of suffering, I thought they would help me.The doctor came in, said it looked like a callous, prescribed cream and went on her way. I expected some sort of treatment by way of lancing, filing down the skin to release the infection, anything. It seemed like she couldn’t be bothered by me and didn’t feel like doing her job. I probably won’t return to this location nor will I recommend it to anyone. In fact, for actual treatment, I’ll suggest they go elsewhere.I would give no stars if possible…

Very rude MA. Did not consider my symptoms just shoved a swab up my nose and sent me on my way and was told to come back next week if still sick. MA was more concerned about my “non-complience” with medications that had nothing to do with my visit. Visited another urgent care for a proper diagnosis.

First time patient here… all staff were very kind and efficient! The receptionist Melissa up front was super speedy setting up my appointment, then to the MA to the doctor. All seemed to genuinely care about helping me. I was in and out within 45 minutes! Thank you!

It was a very pleasant experience. I was pretty sick and they were very efficient from the front desk to Jamie who brought me back to the PA who treated me.

I recently had to bring my elderly father to the walk in. The staff totally exceeded my expectations of the experience. The front desk staff, the medical assistant and the other staff members who we saw as we went into and out of the exam room were so friendly and caring. What a difference their attitude made when I was stressing out. I cant thank them enough.

Over an hour and a half week for a Covid test I go outside the office and the nurses are sitting on their phone paired up like theyre watching movies

Couldn’t get appointment with my primary until next week. When here. For an ear ache.omg very clean , friendly nurses above and beyond what they should done. Than Dr Jill came in. She was amazing. She explain stuff to me about inner ear , and outer ear, I have an outer ear infection. I be going back here again. Great place

Came in with a 8:45 apt…very simple problem just needed something called into the pharmacy. Took an hour. And sat for 25 min before even getting called back.

Explicitly told the provider that I have had this ailment several times before, and that a specific medication always works. Steroids and inhalers never work. What does she prescribe? Steroids and inhalers. Thanks for not listening to your patient!!!

Horrible horrible experience. I came in with the flu and a bleeding sinus infection. I was rudely told that “that’s what happens when you get the flu!” And had to beg in order to even get some nasal spray. She didn’t even offer me any theraflu which is CDC recommended for flu symptoms nevertheless someone who tested positive. Today I went to a new urgent care and was prescribed 3 different antibiotics because of how sick I am. They just want your money and will send you on your way. They don’t care about patients here.

Excellent care from staff at the counter to the physicians assistant Jamie so kind and pleasant to the Doctor who listened to me and found out what the heck was wrong with me. She sent a few scripts for me to pick up. As I was going to the car the staff at the desk was passing me on the sidewalk and even told me that She hoped I feel better soon. As I was getting into my car the pharmacy texted me to be picked up my scripts.

The nurse and doctor were great. The front desk person awful. She likes to run her mouth to others in the office spreading lies about my visit. Surprised someone like this would even be working in this field with the unprofessional attitude she has. Maybe the upper leadership should sit her down and train her over on how to do her job.

I came here 1.5hrs before they closed after being turned away from 2 other urgent cares due to them taking appointment only. When I came in I asked if they were taking walk ins, to which they replied “sure”. Right off the bat the woman at the front desk had an attitude and seemed like my presence was annoying her. She then pushed for me to have an online appointment. I understand why an online appointment can be helpful but personally I feel when you’re sick it’s better to see a doctor in person so they can determine the best course of action after giving you an exam. I declined the option to have an online appointment and I sat down to fill out paperwork on my phone as the woman asked. About 1 minute later she calls me up to the front desk and after asking for my ID and insurance she says “well you didn’t finish the online sign in so I’m going to have to give you paperwork to fill out” and she rolled her eyes. In what world does it take 1 minute to fill out any sort of medical document?? Especially online??? Anyways, after filling out the paperwork I sat down and waited. I waited for over an hour, there were 2 people in the waiting room before I got there and 3 people arrived after me. They took everyone before me, whether I was there first or not. No, they were not in worse condition than me. We all seemed to have a bug that is going around. Finally I get into an exam room. The MA taking my vitals and medical history seemed again like I was an inconvenience but she takes a Covid and flu test and she’s on her way. The doctor comes in and does her exam. Tells me she’ll need bloodwork and an ultrasound and she needed to go get the orders for me to take with me. I asked for a note for work as well. She returned with only the orders… no note. I walked out of the exam room and almost every single person there gave me a dirty look like I was interrupting their conversation and keeping them there. I went in for a stomach bug and I was given NOTHING to help. Dr did not want to spend more than 3 minutes with me. Overall, customer service and bedside manner apparently don’t exist any more. If you chose to go into the medical field you should not be taking your frustration out on patients.

Had a bad sore throat for few days. Made an appointment online for 10am, the next morning, at Physician One Urgent Care. Everything went well there. On time, checking was easy and I was in and out in no time!

Physician One was excellent. Clean, fast and friendly service from helpful knowledgeable staff/ physicians. Have been there twice and both experiences were exceptional. Highly recommended. I will not go anywhere else!

I normally don’t leave reviews but felt like I needed to leave on here. This urgent care is one of the best ones I’ve been too in the valley. From the front desk attendant to the nurse to the physician—all were excellent and attentive. Took the time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions with great detail. Highly recommend!

Been using this Urgent Care for couple years now and always get excellent care from front desk to the healthcare workers. Recently had to bring grandson in for injury that needed sutures and they were wonderful! Thank you for your excellent care . They were so busy and close to closing time(which didn’t realize until later) but they did not rush the procedure, they took the time to make sure grandson was comfortable and worked their magic. This was our first time at this urgent care and what a great experience!! Kristen was the doctor that saw my fiancé. She was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I could keep going!!! I highly recommend this urgent care. You won’t be disappointed!!

Everyone was so very nice. Although the wait time was very long. Even though there seemed to be very few patients. But would go back again if I needed to.

I went because my ear was clogged with wax and I couldnt hear anything. They were so caring. They took such good care of me. I will always come to them because of the wonderful service. My ears feel so much better and Im happy to be able to hear again. I highly recommend Physician One Urgent Care.

I made an appointment online…I got called into an exam room 50 minutes after appointment time. Then, once I was in exam room, I sat and waited for 35 minutes. I ended up leaving without an exam. Why offer appointment bookings if you don’t adhere to them?

This was my first time at physician one urgent care and I had a very pleasant experience. The staff was extremely friendly and nice and tho care I received was above and beyond what I expected and I had a follow up phone call the day after with lab results, and an appointment the following day for an ultrasound. I was extremely happy with the service I received. I highly recommend physician one urgent care.

Wait time was 2 hours 30 mins even with an appointment. Patient should receive a courtesy call to say they are running late .

Stay away from this Money Trap..Just go anywhere but here the waiting room is filthy the attendants are ignorant its like there playing doctor rather than actually diagnosing. I got a script with two refills and can not refill it without having to revisit the office. Id rather go wait at the E.R than step back in this unprofessional Grimy Holding pen.

Everybody at this walk-in was very, very nice. I was put into a room within 15 minutes and within 15 minutes the doctor came in who was also very nice. I would go back to this walk-in every time.

I went for a sinus infection on my regular physician’s day off. The staff were wonderful but I found this provider was lacking. I knew I had sinusitis, as I have it seasonally. She had no interest in a prescription, so my reason to take off from work was inconsequential. Lost time from work for nothing. My physician gave me the script the next day. 3 stars for the other staff

Team really worked to get me in a little early as I had an urgent matter. I really appreciate that this is here and the professionalism of the young physicians assistants and others. Very much appreciate this facility being there.Update 8/2023. Same great treatment from a caring staff. Great team.

I traveled in from out of state and had to visit the clinic. The doctor and the staff were wonderful and very friendly. I felt very comfortable at my visit. They took care of me quickly and I am on the mend already after being given the medication i needed. I am already starting to feel better the next day. I would definitelyvisit here again. It was a nice experience.

I don’t recommend. I went there today with a very sore and swollen throat and likely ear infection. I was hoping to receive some type of antibiotic but instead was told to go home and wait it out. Now I have to return to another urgent care facility and pay another $35 copay. It was a waste of time and I’ll never return.

I highly recommend Physician One Urgent Care in Derby, CT. The staff, doctors and PAs are caring, thorough, informative and do all they can to provide the right care and treatment for you.

The registration and medical assisting staff were great. The doctor left me feeling untreated after she called me when I left to tell me she hadn’t even reviewed my file and prescribed me the same meds I already had.

My daughter was seen with second-degree burns on her legs. We were treated very professionally and kindly. We were reassured that what we were doing at home was healing her burns.

Really Amazing Staff All Friendly and Doctor was So Caring and Attentive. She didn’t let me leave without feeling like she didn’t do everything in her power to assist and provide. The whole experience was efficient and effective. I will recommend this place to anyone in need of just a little more than your General Physician and Less Than an Emergency.

Went tgere yesterday. Today at my dr and they call and call and call. No answer. Trying tk get copy of records and xray no reply...cant count on them

Everyone was so sweet and very thorough, making sure I had the right papers that I needed and even giving me an extra copy…just in case. My son went for a physical and he said “Well, that was fun and we didn’t have to even wait like my normal doctors”!

Treated like family. check in and insurance ladies the caregiver and x ray tech all friendly and kind. Thank you all

I love this place!! The YALE providers are professional and knowledgeable.. Once, I was so dehydrated they put an iv and gave me fluids!! I am a ER RN and never received that kind of care outside of the hospital.. won’t go anywhere else in the area!! Thank you for always taking GREAT care of me!!

Stopped in because I was exposed to someone that has strep and when I first walked in the MA receptionist was rude and told me that there was a patient before me, which is fine but she didnt even ask my name or anything. Another patient came in afterwards and told the MA at the front her name and was told to sit down. After some time, she called in the patient that came in after me. Thankfully I got up because then I would have never been checked in. I dont know why she did what she did. I am also a medical assistant that works for a walkin so I understand how the system works and this is not it, I’m sorry. What’s worse is that they take forever to check you in. What a shame.

The doctor or PA didnt address my concerns after waiting an hour....I said I had a sore throat for one day. Her reply was go see an Ear Nose and Throat doctor,Truly unbelievable....

My mom was visiting from out of state and needed immediate care over the weekend. I was able to bring her in as a walk-in on a Sunday. She was seen promptly and her prescription sent to the pharmacy of my choice. Very convenient. The receptionist was so kind and the healthcare provider was very nice and compassionate also. I was so pleased with the care given to my 91 yr old mom. I highly recommend this place.

Great service friendly and kind to their patients

My wife had an infection of some kind on her right hand index finger. She decided to go to this place vs. waiting at the ER. We waited over 30 minutes.The receptionist saw we were together. My wife was worried because the finger was severely swollen. I was there for emotional support. Finally after 45 minutes waiting, a blonde haired female in uniform comes to get my wife and says to me in a rude tone “ patient only!” She then proceeds to shut the door quickly behind her as I’m asking her why. There is no sign stating patient only beyond these doors or something to that effect. The receptionist never said anything during the intake either. I dont recommend going here for any reason. There is another urgent care near this one. Their bedside manner is much better. Stay away from this place. The nice reviews on here do not tell the whole story.

From the time I walk in to the reception, I really appreciate their professionalism and courteous at check-in. You don’t wait long in the waiting room seeing the doctor. They answered all my questions they took the time with me and didn’t rush me at all. I really like going to this urgent care because they’re always very nice very professional and very helpful.

My wait time was less than 5 minutes. The staff was considerate of my pain and helped me right along and hoped I felt better as I left. I highly recommend this facility.

Prompt, knowledgeable & efficient. The nurse that collected my vitals & then returned to collect blood for labs was very good at her craft. I literally did not feel the needle despite watching it enter my arm. Some magic touch she’s got. 👏

Very good personable professional only issue I had was I had app for 11.45 I was early but just had major surgery I sat for hour and half before I went in the medical assistant said they should have brought me in , but they are a great crew

I went to this location for the first time today. I was taken in within minutes of my scheduled appointment. All staff were kind, friendly and efficient. Based on my experience today I would definitely recommend this place for your immediate health care needs. ***UPDATE to an old review: Still five star healthcare services! I showed up 15 minutes prior to closing tonight. I encountered three staff members. Each of them showed an excellent level of care. Ullanda was intake in the reception area and quickly resolved a minor obstacle to ensure that I received the care I needed tonight. Chris took care of taking my vitals and all that swabbing for labs. Kristen was the care provider. All three were super friendly and supportive despite the fact that I showed up right before closing and they had to stay a few minutes late to wait for tests to come back. I appreciate them! Highly recommend this location! Whoever is doing the hiring for this place has selected a fabulous team. I’m a grateful patient.

They misdiagnosed my illness and then charged my card two weeks later without sending me a notice.

Hours clearly state they are open until 8, which should mean accepting patients until 8. They stop taking patients at 7:45, if that is the case then that should be noted as the time they close. I drove a couple towns over to get there by 7:50 for them to turn me away. I talked them into looking in my ear. They made me do a virtual visit on an iPad with a doctor offsite and the provider came in only to look in my ear and tell me what they saw. Another family walked in right after me and got turned away as well.

Everyone involved with physician one Urgent Care in Derby its one of the best experiences I ever had considering I didnt feel good they made it easy and make it feel welcome they dont look down on you its a good place to go I recommend it to anyone and I thank them a lot

Made an online appointment and filed out paperwork online and was in and out quickly with a diagnosis of flu type A.

Zero sense of urgency at an “Urgent Care”. I was in a lot of pain with a bad leg injury. Didn’t even get acknowledged as I loudly stumbled in the door barely able to walk. The reception pretended I wasn’t there. I had to ask for a wheelchair after hobbling across the parking lot, it was not initially offered. Check-in time for new patient was slow, even though I submitted forms online, and it seemed to be the basis of who gets treatment priority. Repeat patients walk right in, my wait was over an hour to be seen. Then they could not prescribe anything for pain. For the $200 evaluation charge and no treatment other than X-ray, I would not go back. I was there for more than 2 hours and the last one to leave when they closed and sent me on my way. The medical techs were helpful and professional otherwise. Better off going to the ER at the hospital in the future.

Have been there twice, both times i made appts online hrs before. Both times i believe i only waited 5 minutes in the waiting room. They were very nice. I wish i remembered the medical assistants name he was so very personable and kind. Great service!

Easy to make an appointment online and not a long wait in lobby. Was seen very quickly. Staff and drs are always pleasant. Have been a few times and always taken care! Jill is the best!!

Walked in the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The wait was short maybe 10 min as there were 2 patients ahead of me. I was seen by the provider who was both professional and pleasant. I was in and out in less than a 1/2 hour.

I never got Covid once before. Now, i got it. Even being vaccinated and boosted. This sucks. My chest is killing me from coughing, my throat is raw from the nasal drainage. I always go to this urgent care because all the people here including the reception are the best. Tey took me in immediately and explained everything to me after my diagnosed. Great experience when my family was pretty sick. The staff was kind and attentive and saw us right away. The facility was clean. Jillian Porto was an excellent provider and took good care of us. Thank you!

After entering Urgent Care facility and waiting at the desk to be checked in, the person at desk was texting and ignoring that I was there and then also proceeded to hide the phone while texting. Besides, I was then told after the person was done texting that there is no clinical staff here yet and no one can be checked in? How can all clinical staff be late for work? Why not check in people for more convenience for staff and patents once staff finally gets in?

We stopped going here because they refused to give antibiotics for an impacted wisdom tooth. Had to get a referral from my oral surgeon to get the medication I needed. Waisted 40$ for them to tell me to use Tylenol to prevent infection. Honestly CVS minute clinic is your best bet to get the care you need (surprising i know).

Nice office staff, friendly, prompt with minimal wait time. All steps of the visit were explained, friendly & informative nurse. Wonderful Physician Assistant, good bed side manners, listened & gave knowledgeable advice. I have to say, I was impressed from start to finish.

I was not feeling quite right. Took a COVID home test and had trouble reading it. It looked positive. So I went to walk in and they gave Me an appointment to have test, thank God it was negative. The people were super nice and helpful!

I went in yesterday around 9am and it was the nicest urgent care Ive ever been in. The lady behind the desk was very polite and helpful. My family is moving and our insurance cards were in but we didnt have them and they were very kind and patient while we got the info they needed. I was taken in right away the nurse was very kind and helpful. The doctor was very sweet as well and I was probably out with my prescription faxed to my pharmacy within 15 minutes. So far my medicine is working and I couldnt be more grateful to the staff.

Thank goodness for the doctors here. My childs doctor and stand in doctor have barely been checking her out and having been testing her for anything. My daughter was having an allergic reaction and her other doctor only very slightly looked at her and instantly sent her away saying it was eczema. Im glad I didnt accept that and took her to physician one instead. I wish I knew the doctors name who helped us because he not only gave us the correct medicine to help my daughter, he also helped us with another issue we have been deal with for almost 2 months because her other doctors wont do anything. I have also had a great experience here after having ro leave another place. I highly recommend this place.

Except for the weight everything was very efficient the nurse and the care provider were very helpful diagnosed me correctly and I had to wait there almost 2 hours to get in thats the only problem I have

Made an appointment through the solv app and was able to get an appointment same day which was very surprising, considering every other place had no appointments available until the following week. The facility was very clean and the staff was very kind. Steven was thorough with each step and explained the procedure for testing, which was very much appreciated. The provider Emily was friendly and listened to me and explained everything to me, making me feel at ease. Highly recommend Physician One. If needed in the future, I will return.

The provider came in asked what I was there for. I was there for a sore throat, congestion, and chills. She then listened to my lungs and looked in my mouth. She never looked at my ear, felt my neck, or looked in my nose. When I asked for a COVID test, as I couldve been exposed at work, she asked why I didnt do one at home. At the end of the visit she said she would give me two steroid pills and a lidocaine mouth wash. I am going on day 5 of being sick and am prone to sinus infections. Two steroid pills wouldnt have helped. Worst experience ever.

I walked in about 30 minutes after they opened. They had sufficient providers to handle scheduled appointments and walk ins. I had about 8 people ahead of me and was seen within 1 hour.Providers seemed very knowledgable. Staff was great. Referrals team responsive.

Very nice staff. They work very hard to ensure everyone gets seen at an according time frame it was super busy and I still was able to get my rapid COVID test to be able to go to work for the week. I truly appreciate this facility I came from new haven and the women are outstanding employees and I want to thank them for working during this pandemic and keeping us safe!

The worst urgent care I’ve ever been to. Not only was the staff (and doctor) very rude, does NOT allow walk-ins even though it says so on the window. Took 5 days to get a test result back and currently on hold for 25 minutes and counting for someone to explain what the results mean

I’m giving a 3 star because the wait time was extreme! I got there and checked in at 3:12. Was called to come in the facility at 4pm with no other patients waiting before me. I then waited another hour because the front desk told me I needed my sons immunization records with me to do the physical. I asked if they can start the exam while we wait for the email with his info & was told no multiple times. We were finally taken in at 5:30pm & was in and out in 20 minutes. The doctor and all staff were nice. Just seemed a bit unorganized

Came here on a Sunday. Very friendly staff from start to finish. Doctor was compassionate and kind. Needed x ray done and was able to get it done within a few minutes. Extremely convenient that you can see online how many people are in line. I highly recommend this place and hope they continue to provide excellent patient care. PS-check in online to reserve your spot in line before heading down to minimize your wait time.

Not a bad wait, told my symptoms, no one took my temperature. They did strep test but when it was negative, I was told You dont look like you have the flu so Im not going to test. Bought a thermometer on my way home, I had a 102.4 fever. Thanks all....also not covid, I told them I had already tested negative at home. Im not going back to pay again because they did half a job.

Cant recommend them. Never called back with my test results. After two days without improvement was forced to visit another urgent care where received a prescription for antibiotics and was diagnosed with acute tonsillitis

Every time I go there I am seen quickly and competently. The PAs are fantastic and I never feel like Im not heard or listened to there. I appreciate everything they do for me when I cant get in to see my PCP.

I went in without an appt for a covid test. The front receptionist was very friendly and had me fill the online paperwork in my car, and waited until they called me to come in. I had about 6 people in front of me and the line moved very quickly. The nurse Kate was very nice and I waited less than 10 min to get my rapid test results. I was in and out in less than an hour. I will 100% be back!

Very nice staff and providers. Just one thing. I saw the air purifier in the room. And for someone who has asthma it’s a good thing. But not if no one cleans out the filter. It was gross and coming it the back of it. I couldn’t help to see it. It was right there. Sorry if this sounds petty.

Miriam, the NP, did a great job assessing my mothers needs and health concern! She was thorough, professional and clear with her evaluation and treatment recommendations. She took the time to listen to my mothers lung sounds (stethoscope to skin unlike many doctors I’ve seen) and asked appropriate questions. She listen attentively and checked in on us frequently. Lindsay was also wonderful in her manner with patients and family. I have only good things to say about our visit !!

I had a wait time less than 10 minutes. Everyone I came in contact with was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The nurse practitioner took the time to take a good medical history, review my medications and answered all of my questions. I was very impressed with the service they provided!

Almost two hours waiting. Check waiting list it said 3 people in front of me. A few minutes later 8 people in front of me. Ask what was going on and the lady in the front said that they had people that made appointment. That they had to see them first. Like really why take walkers if you are booked. Last time I go to this location.

Went for a covid test because I haven’t been feeling well. They requested a strep test as well because of my symptoms. I was in and out within a half hour. The Staff and doctor I saw were great, very nice! I was more nervous this time because I had a bad experience the first time I was tested in March for covid. It was easy and more comfortable the time around! I will use them in the future for testing if necessary. I never had to go inside everything’s done on an app and they call you when they’re ready to see you....I drove around back got my tests and spoke to a doctor in person- all from my car!

Staff there were all kind. No complaints. Would go back there again. Provider Jill was great, explained things to me and patient. When other places were closed due to weather, this place wasnt when I needed it.

Just another waste of time. Once a good walk in has now become a joke. Last week came in for a covid test and an hour after our appointment time we were called in. The only plus side was the MA who was fantastic. I didnt catch his name but if you read this find somewhere better to work because the customer service is terrible and is not unnoticed. People will catch on and go elsewhere. Today as I type im sitting in your parking lot being told that they are extremely busy and that they need to do a teleconference before we can test. Our appointment was for 407pm and its now 439pm. We were told now that we need a credit card on file for a free test and that they only offer free tests if you dont have insurance. Checking on the federal website that is a lie apparently. This will be our last visit here if I dont decide to wait longer and go elsewhere. Terrible to make people wait. There is literally 2 people inside. I suppose theyve never had to actually work in a medical environment before.

Funny enough, my experience relates to some of the previous reviews on this location reaching capacity at a certain time. I came in approx. 35 minutes before closing with concerns of a UTI. The receptionist was cleaning the front are when I came in and tried to immediately ask me what was going on before returning to her desk. I already felt like I was interrupting their closing procedures. They said they had reached capacity, are no longer taking any patients, and to check availability for a virtual appt. which obviously wouldnt work since I would need to do a urine sample. I tried to explain the urgency of the situation. Most people know that UTIs are no joke. Theyre painful and can come on fast. After explaining my urgency and reiterating that it was over a half hour before closing they still turned me away with no concern for my issues, and told me to come back in the morning to do a urine sample. I decided to go to Riverside Urgent Care of Derby down the road and they gladly took me. Its weird to turn away a patient with urgent concerns at a Urgent care center. Riverside was confused why this location wouldnt take a patient at 7:25pm either, expressed that they understood my concerns, and would take care of me. This is how you show people that you care and communicate that.

If i could give this place a ZERO star i would.I went last week for my drug test the receptionist said you have to make an appointment i said why you have a sign saying you accept walk in ???i made my appointment and showed up 2 days after at the right time and they make me wait for one hour and 15 minutes.the nurse who did the drug test never sealed my test cup and never gave me a printed receipt neither i did sign for anything.after waiting for one week my employer received a message saying your drug test specimen was not able to be tested because it was lost in transit from the collection site to the lab.Please STOP GOING TO THIS UNIT FOR THE SEEK OF YOUR LIFE.

I am grateful to have an urgent care like this in the area. The staff was helpful, efficient and kind. When you aren’t feeling well, they are there for you. I got a quick diagnosis and treatment plan. Thank you for what you do in serving the public.

I actually bring my daughter for an appointment here at the derby Ansonia location and originally I tried to get a telehealth visit they had me do the whole registration process and at the end the doctor came on and told me that they couldn’t do an assessment because she was too young and age and because of her symptoms they would have to be seen in person. The receptionist originally told me since I had previously done the registration over the phone I would just have to walk in at the on-site location. When I got there the woman was immensely rude and very I guess set in her ways and how she wanted to do it? I tried explaining it to her three times and she kept telling me that I wasn’t understanding when in actuality she was the one that wasn’t even trying to understand never mind understanding. I do not recommend this place to anyone as I said staff is rude facility Was dirty, parking was very confusing,

HORRIBLE customer service. I walked in at 7pm and they told me they could not see me. Never ever returning here again. If staff could not accommodate seeing patients past a certain time LOCK THE DOORS. Will be taking this to the highest extent possible.

I was so impressed!This location in Derby is staffed by the most wonderful front desk people as well as excellent Medical Professionals. Everyone there was kind, considerate, and caring. This is definitely now my go to place when I or my family need walk-in care.

Staff was welcoming. I did not wait long and once in exam room, dr came in promptly. My medical situation was taken care and I was on my way. Would recommend this walk in.

Ive been here a few times now with other family members. This was my first visit as the patient. There are 3 walk ins and a hospital all within a block of each other. My family and friends always choose to go here. The staff is always kind, very professional and knowledgeable. They really make you feel like they care about you and your health. Ive never waited longer than 15 mins in the waiting room. Definitely recommend.

My experience at Urgent Care was great! I was seen within 20 minutes of being there by a very nice doctor. The building was very nice and extremely clean and my favorite show just happened to be on in the waiting room. They also called my prescription in for me rather then me waiting in the drop off line at the pharmacy. Im so glad I found this place and recommend it to anyone.

Hi there. I felt an urgency to get a covid-19 because I was exposed to a person with covid and Im m frequently out in the community. They fit me in quickly. When I got there they they had me fill out an online form which was comprehensive and efficient. Then I drove around the back and I was quickly and painlessly given the test. The people that work there were friendly and efficient. They suggested that I might get my results within two to five days.

I walked in and checked in at 2:09pm, and it is currently 4:11pm and I still haven’t been seen and I have extreme back pain in which I can’t sit nor stand for extended periods of time which is why im here! Even though it states outside walk-ins accepted, it seems like only the people who booked appointments are given priority and once they go through the appointments then they start to call walk ins! No sense of urgency what so ever for an urgent care, because to me if a person is walking in to get treated is because they are in real pain and couldn’t wait for an appointment!

Great experience! The staff was friendly and attentive (even when I was visibly nervous), and I got right in. Very kind, patched me right up.
