Beth A McAvey, MD

Dr. McAvey is a wonderful doctor and person. Her bedside manner and overall positivity go a long way. My husband and I had our initial consult with Dr. McAvey in January and felt confident after that first appointment that she would help us grow our family. While the road has not been easy, and has had some bumps along the way, RMA is making the process as smooth as possible for us. The nurses always call me back within a timely manner if I have any questions, and my IVF coordinator Molly has been really organized, understanding and just great! The office is clean, I never have to wait too long to be seen. The nurses and staff at RMA Garden City, as well as Melville are so kind and caring always greeting me with a smile. When I had my egg retrieval done in the Melville location I really felt very well cared for by the entire OR team. I voiced my concerns about being nervous and immediately the wonderful nurses and doctors helped put me at ease. Whether I have blood work or a sonogram appointment, the nurses are really knowledgeable, gentle, and overall fantastic and very sweet people. While my husband and I still have a long way to go on our journey we are so happy to have started this process with Dr. McAvey and RMA. We feel positive about the entire experience thus far. Thank you to everyone at RMA and especially Dr. McAvey. We highly recommend Dr. McAvey for your fertility needs.

Horrible office. 0 stars. Called me the morning of my appointment and came up with ANYTHING to cancel. After the receptionists 3rd-4th pathetic attempt to make an excuse as to why they need to reschedule a month out I just said forget it. Negative 5 stars if possible.

We just welcomed our baby girl 1 week ago thanks to Dr. McAvey. Beyond grateful for her and the staff at the Garden City location. She is very knowledgeable, honest and confident in her approach which was encouraging as a patient. We trusted she knew what she was doing and reached out via email whenever we had questions. I will say she does not hold your hand and interaction is mainly at appointments or via email. If you need to connect with her you should let the front desk know and ask for the best way to contact her. This worked for us. We highly recommend Dr M.

Right from the start with making my appointment over the phone Christine and Ariel were so welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Then when I arrived for the first time at the doctors office, not only were they both just as welcoming as on the phone, the esthetic of the office was clean and appealing. Dr. Mcavey, was wonderful. She was personable, and prepared with the information I filled out prior to my appointment. During our appointment she made me feel extremely comfortable and important. She took her time to explain everything. She made me feel hopeful. The nursing staff was also extremely pleasant and accommodating. I even walked away with a folder of information. Overall they truly made my first experience a positive one and I appreciated it so much. I would highly recommend Dr. McAvey and her team at RMAIVF.

Dr. Mcavey and the staff over at RMA Long Island IVF are phenomenal! From the moment my husband and I walked in for our first consultation, our worries were put to rest. Dr. Mcavey is very knowledgeable and knew the exact course of action to take in order for my husband and I to receive our BFP result in just our FIRST cycle working with her and her team! We are beyond thrilled!The medical staff is always pleasant with wonderful bedside manner and I love how attentive the front desk staff is, no matter if you’re communicating through telephone or email! You will never feel left in the dark and all your questions/concerns will be answered. The practice is super clean and the wait times are never too long.My husband and I highly recommend Dr. Mcavey and her team to anyone out there that is desperately looking for a positive change in their fertility journey. Dr McAvey is definitely knowledgeable and very nice. I do feel with RMA in general doctors are a bit inaccessible. The Patient almost always deals with various staff members. But she did make me feel comfortable and discussed various options with me and went out of her way to help me.

Dr. McAvey is an amazing doctor. I always felt very comfortable with her. My experience with her was much different from past doctors. From our first visit I just knew I was in the right hands. Her staff is just as great. They were always knowledgeable and and informative. I had success after only two rounds of IVF with her. I am 42 years old and Im halfway through my pregnancy now. So many doctors said this was impossible for me but it happened for me. I am very grateful to Dr. McAvey.

Dr. Mcavey was very attentive to me and my husbands needs and questions. She was very positive and hopeful in her delivery but also very realistic. I appreciated her straightforward attitude yet gentle demeanor. My husband also shared he felt included. We really appreciate the experience.

This is a clean facility that is organized with little to no wait time. The most attentive and caring staff I’ve ever met. They truly take care of all of their patients and exceed in making you feel comfortable as soon as you walk through the door. Dr. McAvey is warm and welcoming and answers all of your questions without making you feel rushed. Do not hesitate to come here!

Dr. McAvey is an AMAZING doctor! Shes super knowledgeable and up to date on the latest clinical data. Despite how busy she is she always took the time to answer all my questions and to listen to all my concerns. Shes a genuinely caring person and its evident that shes committed to providing her patients with the best care possible in all situations. Her staff is great too- profession and caring. I HIGHLY recommend her.

Dr. McAvey is knowledge, experienced and down to earth. She explained the process, the treatments and what you can expect every step of the way. She even took the time to speak to my husband over the phone and answer all his questions since he could not make it to the appointments. Her staff is great and they are very responsive via e-mail. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend her.

Just had my first consultation/appointment with Dr. McAvey and I have nothing but good things to say. Office was clean, staff was polite and friendly, and great order was in place in respect to COVID-19 guidelines and protocols. Dr. McAvey is extremely knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. Dr. McAvey is not only an excellent doctor, she is also down to earth and personable, which is hard to come by. She is compassionate and understanding of the emotional toll fertility treatment can take on a person. Despite her busy schedule, she takes the time to sit and listen to your concerns and helps to put them at ease. Dr. McAvey’s Garden City office is also very welcoming, from the friendly receptionists who greet you, to the calming music and atmosphere, you almost forget you’re in a doctors office. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. McAvey, and I highly recommend her to anyone struggling with fertility issues.

Dr. McAvey and her staff are amazing! After meeting with various different Doctors, and going through many different treatments, I met with Dr. McAvey, and she changed my life. Other Doctors had basically given up on me, and Dr. McAvey stepped in and was so supportive and positive. I am now a week away from having my first baby thanks to her. My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Dr. McAvey and her amazing staff. After trying 5 years for my son we decided to try once again and Im so glad we chose RMANY. I didnt feel like just a number but felt she really understood what we have been through and was sweet, informative and positive she could help us. Dr. McAvey and her associates at RMA Garden City are wonderful!!As an anxious person who usually has a million-and-one questions; I left my appt feeling well-informed and aware of what to expect each step of the way.The staff every step of the way- from reception/intake, counsel with Dr. McAvey, meeting with NPs to go over what to expect in the coming weeks/months and blood draw staff.I left with a folder full of information.Everyone was kind, willing to answer questions and very friendly. My husband and I were very happy with our appt.I am glad that I was recommended here by my OBGYN.

Dr. McAvey and her team have been amazing through my entire process from screenings, testing and procedures. Any questions are always answered and the team of nurses are always eager to help. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. McAvey and her team at RMALI IVF! Highly recommend!

I have to be completely honest about my experience with RMA and Dr. McAvey. It has been hit or miss. I’m on my second round of IVF right now after 3 failed IUI’s. Me and my partner are experiencing “unexplained infertility” ( what ever that means). McAvey is very nice and answers all of your questions but I have to say I can count on my hand how many times I’ve seen and spoke to her within the 8-9 months we have been seeing her. After the initial meet with her good luck on your journey. Every other appointment is someone new and it really just feels like a revolving door of nurses and assistants trying to get you in and out ( before they take your payment of course) A few days ago something very scary happened before my retrieval. The anesthesiologist who was there that day had trouble finding my veins, he seemed nervous and clumsy, he was dropping things and also asked ME to hold something for him while he struggled to do his job. Blood started dripping from my arm ( he looked startled and assured me that things like this happen) then he tried one on my hands ( that didn’t work and my hand immediately swelled up with the fluid coming from the needle) at this point I’m panicking because It seemed like it was this guys first day on the job! He finally tried my OTHER HAND and it worked. Long story short I got queezy and dizzy and I started crying because this process is difficult enough and I felt I couldn’t trust these people to do their job but I had already came this far, took all the medications and I had to take a chance. ( anyone who wants a child knows this helpless feeling) I was terrified RIGHT before being put to sleep for a procedure. Thank God there was a very kind nurse there. A younger African American women who literally wiped my tears the whole time and tried to calm me down. The other nurses were good but she was why I was able to calm down enough to go through with it. I do have to be honest and say I have 2 acquaintances who used RMA with success and that is why I chose them. But my personal experience hasn’t been great so far. My advise for anyone trying this place is do not let them talk you into doing IUI’s if your concerned about wasting your time. In my opinion it’s pointless and just another way to squeeze money out of you. The success rate is very low. If you can jump straight to IVF. If I could do it again I would shop around a bit more. If this cycle doesn’t work I’ll be looking in Florida where it’s much cheaper than NY once we make our move there in September. Hope this helps good luck to everyone. And God bless.

Dr. Mcavey and her staff were amazing. We came to her group after a devastating loss and without much hope of success. She was professional and extremely capable, but more importantly, she was so supportive. We never would have been able to get pregnant without her help and support and we are now 20 weeks with our miracle rainbow baby! The staff at her Garden City office were also fantastic and always greeted us by name when we came in. They know all of the patients well and are extremely supportive. I can recommend Dr. Mcavey without any reservations.

Dr. Mcavey and the staff at RMA were wonderful. From walking in the staff was very friendly and personal. Dr. Mcavey answered all my questions with patience and no judgment and made me feel really listened to and understood. She gave me a thorough exam and I am very happy with my experience here.

I want the thank Dr. McAvey and her staff for making my little miracle possible. When I started this journey it seemed like all the odds were against me. But like Dr. McAvey said it is what it is and you hope for the best. I prayed a lot too! So with just a mustard seed of Faith and Dr. McAvey’s expertise I am 7 months pregnant with our little girl!

Dr. Mcavey and her staff are hands down Incredible!!! Shes very informative, fast on helping you take your steps on creating a family. Never once did she make me feel defective, or make me feel my dreams on wanting children are unreal or unattainable. I cant say enough good things about her.

I was referred to Dr. Beth McAvey by my OBGYN and was extremely pleased with my experience. Her bedside manner is excellent. When necessary she personally called me with test results, etc. and spent a great deal of time providing information, educating me and answering all questions I had. I would highly recommend her to anyone struggling with infertility. She is extremely sensitive and understanding. Exactly what I needed during this time.

Dr. McAvey is a smart, accomplished, caring doctor with a caring and detailed bed-side manner. She takes a positive and supportive approach to managing her patients care. Fertility issues are fraught with stressful highs and lows. Dr. McAvey is exactly the type of supportive coach men and women need while navigating the challenges of getting and staying pregnant. I am 14 weeks pregnant from a 2nd round of IVF-ICSI at RMA NY under the care of Dr. McAvey. I have recommended her to my close friends and family seeking fertility care. Dr. McAvey has always made herself available throughout the course of my treatments. Her staff, the nurses and the administration were all very kind, considerate and respectful. I plan to return to RMA when trying for a second child.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Dr. McAvey. We had been trying for close to 2 years to get pregnant and it just wasn’t working. We had tests done and we found out our issue. We went to RMA to see her and she couldn’t have been sweeter and been more informative about everything we were going through. After two tries with IVF we got pregnant and I am now 22 weeks pregnant due in November. We can’t thank her enough for giving us this wonderful miracle of a baby girl.

Dr.Beth McAvey is a soft spoken and caring doctor that helped us out during our road to fertility. I loved that she backed up her decisions with evidence based research and always had a positive outlook.

Dr.mcavey has always been so knowledgeable and helpful. I started my ttc journey with her in Manhattan and followed her to Long Island. Without her i would not have my 3.5 year old daughter! We are still seeing dr mcavey to try to complete our family! She really does know best!

Its only about the money at this practice. IVF treatments require personalized service and caring doctors who adjust medicine as you go through the process as things vary greatly for each person based on their body and how it reacts to the medicine. You absoltely do not get this type of caring or personalized service here, youre just a number at this practice.

I first went to RMA of NY starting November and from my first visit up until now and every visit have been wonderful. All the staff, including the NP’s, receptionist, the Nurses and Dr. McAvey are very kind, helpful and very welcoming. They are there to assist you anytime. I tend to call alot because I like to ask questions and not once did they not return my call to answer them. They are highly recommended! Hoping everything goes well!

I would not recommend RMA or Dr. Beth McAvey based on my experience. My overall impression is that they treat you as a number and their only goal is to get you through the cookie-cutter cycle so they can charge for it and move on. IVF treatments require personalized service and detailed doctors who adjust medicine as you go through the process as things vary greatly for each person based on their body and how it reacts to the medicine.I can say with confidence that you do not get this type of personalized service here. In my case, my insurance covered 2 cycles. I did my first cycle here and they did not adjust the medicine from their standard protocol they use on everybody during the process (I compared it to my friends experience here). It felt like no one really looked at the results of each test to make individual recommendations. And even though my body did not react much to the standard protocol of meds, they still went ahead with the retrieval, making my first cycle covered by insurance pretty much useless and a waste of time and money.I waited to write this review until I went to another clinic (Dr. James Grifo at NYU) for my last cycle covered by insurance, so I could compare the experiences. My second experience was completely different. The doctor paid attention to how my body was reacting to the medication very closely and adjusted things carefully along the way. In the end, my cycle lasted almost a week longer than at RMA, as they made sure the meds had enough time to have an impact, which eventually proved successful.Based on the above, I cannot recommend this doctor or RMA.

My experience at RMA was lovely. Dr.McAvey was very helpful, smart, caring and informative. They are organized and help you understand each step during this process. My husband and I couldn’t be happier with RMA.

She is very joyful person and very caring. She will never loose track of your treatment. However, as a patient i would recommend to meet with her before every cycle and ask as many questions you can. I would definitely recommend her. She spends time with you until all your questions are complete and satisfied.

Dr. McAvey is incredible. Her and her staff are the only o es you see and speak to. She is very compassionate about what you are going through. I love her and her staff.

Dr. McAvey was absolutely wonderful during our initial consult in November 2019. My husband and I opted to go with Dr. McAvey and her practice based on the wonderful initial consult. Unfortunately, her staff (front desk, nursing, LPN) are absolutely worthless. On Friday, December 27th at 7:30am, I initially called the Lake Success office (spoke to Peaches) for a medication prescription in a way that my mail order pharmacy will cover it. I am still waiting for support on coverage from the office staff.... I left messages Tuesday (12/31/19 - with the Melville nurses) and Friday (1/3/19 - with the Lake Success nurses) for a callback from the Garden City location because all say only my care team in Garden City can help me. At 2pm on 1/3, I called asking for test results. Peaches tried to push me off again. I insisted on speaking to a medical person or the office manager. After holding for 38 minutes, I finally spoke to Anna (nurse). I am very frustrated that my phone calls are not returned. I would appreciate more responsive care from the entire staff.

Dr.Mcavey was knowledgeable and patient with answering questions. She was empathetic and kind I am very lucky to have the support from her and her amazing team during this sensitive/exciting journey .

Have only had one appointment so far, but Dr. Mcavey made me feel comfortable and at ease during a difficult time. I’m hopeful that my husband and I will have a great experience with her for however long it takes.

The doctor and staff were excellent. All of them went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience. The doctor spent plenty of time with us, reviewing options and coming up with a treatment plan which best fit us. I highly recommend this office and doctor!
