Please do not go here if you’re pregnant and wanting a good experience. I literally cried thinking about giving birth with them after my experience with them. This isn’t my first pregnancy otherwise I might not have such bad things to say, but in comparison to my old OB and midwives this was a nightmare experience for me. They never answer the phones. They never follow up for extra appointments like ultrasounds, my iron infusions etc. They won’t check if your dilated or sweep your membranes. They actually don’t do much except measure your stomach and check your weight. Their phone etiquette is horrible leaving messages about test results on voicemail on a Friday at 3:30pm when they know their phone lines close and they can’t answer questions or concerns until a Monday (so they leave you the weekend pregnant and anxiety stricken) even though they don’t pick up anyways. Their ultrasound techs I had to call and file a complaint because she wouldn’t answer me at all when I asked anything. She gave me one picture of his face at my 20 week and that’s it. My second ultrasound to check my placenta had to be done vaginally but the lady was too scared to even look??? She asked me to put the probe in myself. So awkward and unprofessional. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. Please pick somewhere else. I promise you won’t be happy here. This was mostly done at the Lakewood location with Anna and Sara (0/10 recommend) but the tacoma location isn’t much better. Womens health care is a joke… even when it’s ran by women it’s ridiculous. I really did not realize how good I had it at baby catchers (no longer a practice). This is my 5th baby and I have not be listened to or heard out about my own body. Do better.

I hate to see the poor reviews on here, because I truly have had a perfect experience with this clinic so far, and I am G1 @ 32wks. I see Jennifer, and have seen Joann a couple of times when Jennifer is out. Jennifer is just the best, she makes me feel understood, and I always leave feeling that my needs and wants are met. I hate to see that it bothers people being encouraged by their provider to get the COVAX, because although I have made the personal decision to not get it until after I give birth, I understand that as a provider Jennifer is just doing her job by encouraging me to get it- at every appointment. I would encourage patients to understand their obligation to suggest the vaccine, as it is recommended by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. I also would like to note that it is a standard of care to not get an ultrasound until the dating ultrasound, unless otherwise needed for genetic screening, or provider preference, so if you get a first trimester ultrasound consider it a privilege as it is not a requirement! I work at another OB/GYN department that is not a part of CHI Franciscan, and our patients first ultrasound is at 19-22wks. Please show grace to your healthcare workers during this tough time with COVID, and try to understand that ultimately they are doing what is best for you and the safety of the community they serve. :)

I got my IUD in here. First of all, they don’t have spurs for your feet so I had to use my muscles to keep my legs up the entire time (while in pain). Which meant I couldn’t relax my pelvic floor and control my breathing. Secondly, do your research with this place ahead of time. Many of my friends have told me that the pain getting an IUD can be very similar to labor contractions. I have never had a child, but this experience definitely warranted pain medication. This clinic does not do pain management. Unless you want to endure excruciating pain during your IUD insertion, go somewhere that does pain management. They basically lied to me and told me it wasn’t normal to experience immense pain. When my friends and family have said it’s just as bad as contractions. My aunt who has had two children refuses to get the IUD again bc it was so bad. They really don’t take this seriously here. Additionally, they only told me to take a normal dose of ibuprofen. Planned parenthood recommends 800mg of ibuprofen before the procedure.

Joann is awful. Never refills my prescriptions for me, Ive had vitamin D deficiency my whole pregnancy & she wouldnt prescribe anything or check my levels until I was half way through my pregnancy. Shes rude and judgemental. Im going back to my old OB whos almost an hour away but worth it! I wouldnt trust her with my babies life & I will not have her deliver my baby or be involved any further in my pregnancy. The receptionist and nurses are awesome. Ive never met the other providers but Joann should have her dang medical license revoked. Shes an awful uninvolved doctor. I wish I didnt waste half my pregnancy with her neglectful acts.

I came here for an annual exam & pap smear. The doctor listened to me, asked questions, ran some labs, and referred me to their Endocrinology department when some issues were discovered. They followed up with me via phone calls and MyChart messages. Im very happy with the care I received. The staff was all friendly and caring, Ill be back again.

There are nice people working here and the environment is okay, but they are extremely slow! I literally sat in the waiting room in excruciating pain for four hours on more than one occasion.
