Chai Urgent Care Lakewood - New Jersey

We came in with our 9 yo daughter who was in much pain from a fall. Our nurse Sylvia was so kind, not only tending to her medical needs but also giving much emotional support and showing genuine compassion. Debbie from the X-ray department took the time to assure her she will be gentle extremely tuned in to her vulnerability. Thank you so much!

Visited on 02/16/2024. The receptionist at the entrance was terrible. The girl sat with headphones on and immediately asked for your personal information without even looking at you and without wondering why you came. When I began to describe my problem and whether it was possible to get help from them, she began to be rude. In response to the remark that before being rude, you need to clarify why the client came, she began to insult me. If you need help, then here you will only get problems. Thats why there are no clients in the office

Called to confirm they were open. They said they were, upon arrival staff stated that they decided to close an hour early because they were busy. I would advise finding a more reliable urgent Care.Update 6/24 -Friend was sick and went there around 10 minutes before closing and they took him in.

I arrived at 11:20, anticipating theyd be open until 12:00. My sons throat was really bothering him. Despite their sympathy, they kindly asked us to leave as they were closing, showing compassion but with minimal effort.

Terrible experience. Requested imagery bec wanted to go to different orthopedist my pediatrician recommended but they refused bec they have one their affiliated with that has access to their internal system. I had to expose my son to extra radiation bec of this.

Absolutely wonderful experience. The check in process was a breeze and the staff was super friendly. Start to finish was only 20 minutes. The provider explained everything in detail. I highly recommend using chai care for all of your urgent medical needs.

Last night we saw Ann Bernstein, PA, for an infection my fiancé has in his jaw. She was amazing to deal with. Very professional and handled the many tasks she had going on with the utmost respect for each patient. I thank her for her service and all she did for us late last night!

I was wrongfully charged due to an error the secretary made. So unprofessional.

I was very impressed. Clean, loved the check in process, very easy with license and insurance card scan. My apt time didn’t show up on the screen but the lady behind the desk told me to just choose next apt and I was seen in minutes. Nurse was very nice, caring, great bedside manor. Also I went at 10 pm, was nervous going at night but the place was welcoming and well lit.

I went in to have Covid testing done right before Passover and the appointments were very flexible. They saw patients pretty quickly despite being understaffed that day. I had a wonderful experience with Sylvia , the Rn who did the testing. She was so kind and attentive, even though they were slammed. Overall , I will being going back.

The nurse we had was so wonderful. She was professional and she let us know that she stays in that room all day. Its her room, how she disinfects it. She made our visit comfortable. We did not wait long to get in, you can check in from your phone, fill out the paperwork on your phone...it seems like a well oiled machine in these times!

I dont usually leave reviews but I was really blown away by the cleanliness, professionalism and overall experience at Chai. This was my first time getting tested for COVID and Ive heard stories from friends and family about how long the lines have been, insane wait times, etc. My appointment for my test was at 12:30 and I was back in my car at 11:55. The entire place is run like a well oiled machine and I am very pleased with my experience. Chai is about 20 minutes from me but its worth the drive for the exceptional service.My COVID test came back within two days, however I had to call in order to receive my results and it took me over an hour for someone to pick up the phone. Im sure theyre dealing with a high volume of calls on a daily basis, but it might be worth looking into another method of letting customers know the line is busy instead of just letting the phone compulsively ring.

Covid test for my son done a week ago. While we were there waiting no one was social distancing in the very full waiting area and the cleanliness of the place was questionable. Did not see anyone cleaning very high traffic, high touch areas like the door or counters the whole time we were there. Results took 7 days with Thanksgiving being last week. I called nonstop for 2 days to get results. NO ONE ANSWERS. I must have called over 50x and pressed 9 for lab results, 0 for operator and 2 for the front desk (yes I have the prompt numbers memorized because I called so many times). NO ONE ANSWERS AT ANY EXTENSION. I got through after trying for hours yesterday to be told the results weren’t in yet to call back today, what a joke. When I got through today, again after many many calls over several hours, finally I was told negative and I asked if I could be emailed the results since we need the documentation for him to resume activities and stop quarantine. Was told no, they could be faxed or I needed to come in and pick them up. Checked the portal and nothing updated, no test results.

I am comfortable with the staff but I dont think this practice is using the patient portal correctly. Perhaps because the Portal takes more time than just helping check clients in and out, but the value of the portal is being able to check your medical history after visiting. So 4 stars for the on-site experience and -2 stars for the online portal experience.

I love this urgent care! I drive 40 minutes and pass 6-8 closer urgent cares and I still choose to come to them. They are professional, friendly, quick and patient. I am always greeted with a smile and taken care of very quickly. Alyssa and rikki are always amazing! The office is very neat and clean. I recommend this urgent care to anyone who wants there time at the doctor to be a pleasurable as possible. Thanks Alyssa and rikki for always making these scary times less scary.

21 seconds on the phone cost 36 Bucks and only got told to go to the ER. Much effort, very wow.

I was able to get in, and get my COVID test done in a reasonable amount of time. Everyone was very professional but the receptionists should be given awards for having the patience of saints in dealing with everyone that walks through the door. One complaint: people were sitting in the waiting room WITHOUT MASKS! Who does that anywhere, but especially at an URGENT CARE?!

I have only great things to say about this urgent care. There was no wait time. My baby was seen as soon as I walked in. The staff is wonderful. Everyone was kind and comforting. The PA on call was very through and explained in detail. I’d definitely recommend this place to everyone!

I wish I could give it negative stars. I was in there yesterday with a sore throat. Everyone was nasty from reception to whatever provider I saw. No one introduced themselves not the medical assistant or the provider, not even sure if he was a doctor or an NP. I expressed concerns about my swollen glands and the pain on how I couldnt swallow. He didnt even touch my glands to check them!!! I had to go to another provider to who said I did in fact have an infection and needed antibiotics and steroids which thankfully I am on the mend now. NEVER AGAIN will I go here and will tell everyone to not waste their copay on this subpar care.

I couldnt give more stars unfortunately. The PAs are accommodating and professional. However, the office staff is very rude and lacking in basic middos and derech eretz.

The worst!! I called for my son during small emergency his whole face was swollen and burning up from severe ear infection so i asked them at 11:15 pm if i could come by and they could look at him real quick before they close at 12am i understand its in 45 min but i live 5 min away right down road. So the lady told me dont bring him by cause they want to go home on time that everyone is tired! Exact words were ( not really cause we want to leave on time tonight we dont feel like staying were all tired!) ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I respect everyones job but I cant control when my son gets sick! When i said are you serious? She said yeah its late! This is just unacceptable! But i dont want anyone taking care of my kids that doesnt like there job or doesnt care about people ! This does your best interests are not first priority is there mood if they feel like it or not. Scary

The purpose of urgent care is to be in and out.They used to be great here but lately they have been terrible. Either they are short staffed or are mismanaged. It was not very busy at the time and I waited 50 minutes to see a doctor! This isn’t acceptable! All in all it took 1 hour and 10 minutes for a strep culture.

Absolutely terrible. I went for a test for an issue that was time sensitive and the doctor sent the specimen to the lab in the wrong vial. The lab therefore couldn’t process the test and I got no results. Complete waste of time and it prevented me from getting the treatment I needed. Doctor also failed to properly treat another painful ear infection I came in for the same visit. I had to go to a second urgent care 2 days later for the right medications. When I contacted the Chai urgent care office to discuss this, it kept ringing and ringing multiple times and no answer. Finally the 6th time I called, someone (who didn’t seem to care) said they “would see if a manager would call me but they don’t know if they will.” I’m hopeful for a refund on my copay bc this isn’t acceptable.

The Good: Covid test and in and out in 20 minutes.The Bad: It has been 6 days since I got my test and not 1 word from the lab. I have called several times and they tell me to check the portal. My portal only shows my visit, nothing about test or pending results. I have called several times during work house to not get a single person answering several times. Only went here because I was in a bind for a test. By the time I get my results the damn vaccine will be here.

Best Care! Best Docs & Staff!Extremely clean & fresh as if it was the grand opening...Highly professional & I really feel Im doing the best for my kids bringing them to the best care possible.Always busy yet no wait... Great Gadgets for the kids!

Stay away. Staff are obnoxious and have an attitude. For ex: I dont want to deal with these people was the response of the nurse when asked by front desk to cover for her. Staff should be caring and respectful to patients. Not to do them a favor by letting them use chai care.....And to top it off, wait times are EXTREMLEY long. Your better off going to the ER where they are properly staffed, respectful and professional.(To be fair, the Dr was knowledgeable and professional but still a one star review for how this place operates, they should remove the care from chai care).

Alyssa, who was working at the front desk at the time, was so helpful! She had so much patience & I appreciate her excellent customer service. It’s so comforting to have such kindness in a health facility, especially during these hard times.

Dont even bother to use them. Such rude people. The front desk secretary welld at me in front of the whole waiting room because I basked how long my wait is... disgusting. The Dr doesnt sound they even know what they do. My Dr was not even talking and I have to tell him what to check. Other then that he sent me home....

Doctor was very rude, experienced discrimination. How are you a doctor but not making me feel comfortable. May I add he denied a test that was clearly needed!! Very nasty in there DONT GO THERE PLEASE GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!

Terrible. Went with 2 and a half yrs old child with 102 fever complaining pain in the mouth. Tested for strep... negative, received an email next day to confirm negative result, we went to the pediatrician and tested positive. Five minutes visit, nurse looked at babys mouth standing 3 feet away while the baby was crying... I dont see anything.... seriously? Sent us home saying to give the baby tylenol for the fever.... I wonder how such a place is allowed to operate...

This has to be the unorganized Urgent Care Ive ever been to. I took my Covid-19 test on A Wednesday and today is Monday and they cant find my test results. How do you lose someones test results. I cant go back to work until I test negative. Im out of work and Im not getting paid. This is ridiculous!! I will never use this place again. Now I have to make another appointment at a different Urgent Care. I will go to a place that cares and treats their patients right.

Ive never been to an urgent care that is run this well!!! Made apt for the wrong time and staff was extremely helpful and friendly, no wait! in and out in less than 10 minutes. definitely recommend. 5 star facility.

The year is 2023 I’m sitting in the empty waiting room waiting for my son who s being examined, I am literally the only person in there with the receptionist (which was not wearing a mask) and still being harassed by staff to wear a mask. And got kicked out… maybe this is why it’s so empty there…

Poor service. I had a pcr test down for travel on 12/4 for traveling in 12/7. I made them aware and on 12/6 when I stopped by they told me that the result was just picked up cause their machine is broken. I wish they would have at least called us who had pcr done and informs us… I miss my flight cause they result did not come back. I get it thing happens but they should have follow up so I could have gone somewhere else.

Chai Urgent Care in Jackson, Lakewood, and Freehold had me waiting on the phone for 40 mins for all of them. None of them answered their phones and I am in need of my covid test result. it is outrageous that not a single person answers the phone and the portal is down and I cannot access it. terrible terrible service each of these places needs to start being more attentive to their patients

Service was excellent and efficient, no waiting in line. BUT we had a VERY DIFFICULT TIME GETTING our resultsOpening the portal was NOT USER FRIENDLY.We needed to call your clinic and wait very long for someone to pick up the phone and allow us to get results.thanks

They have absolutely no protocol for COVID testing. They make you sit in the office with everyone else for two hours when every other place makes you sit in your car and comes to you. My dad became sick after sitting and waiting for two hours with all the other sick people.

I usually don’t take the time to ever put reviews about anything. But for chai care it was a must.... if there were more then 5 stars available I would. Both times going to you guys I was taken inside quickly and got what I needed quickly especially on a Sunday. incredible Professional office staff Thank you very much!!!!

This urgent care was amazing! we had an emergency someone in our family had a very painful covid experience that developed into pneumonia, and the DR. there Joe Dimauro was so helpful, we were on the mend that very same day! Highly recommend this Urgent care!

Tried to charge me $175 for a rapid covid test. Went somewhere else and got a test no problem with no charge. Not sure what happened. Everything else was fine. They gave me a regular test and had it back the next day.

I called and was told they were open...drove down with my baby that needed to be seen, when I got there (30min before they closed) they told me that they are not seeing anymore patients. used them in the past and had better service. (They need better service!)

First couple times I went it was quick and easy. I love that they are fast however this time Ive had it. Back in January they lost my covid specimen. They tried to make it up and someone to my home to retest. Moving forward 10 months later I go back to get a covid test and I get results that were mine but on paper I wasnt the right patient. Had a my 1st name right but wrong dob, wrong last name however Im with a family of 4! I dont know how this happens and its the same person. NOW IVE BEEN ON HOLD FOR OVER 40 MINS AND NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. I DONT KNOW HOW THIS IS ACCEPTABLE. WORKING IN THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM MY SELF I WOULD BE MORTIFIED TO HAVE THIS TYPE OF REVIEW. BUT HAD NO CHOICE SINCE I CANT EVEN GET SOMEONE ON THE LINE.

I’ve never visited this office but the entire visit was pleasant, quick and professional. Went for a Covid Test and was told the news quickly. The office actually called the next day to check on me- I’d recommend for sure!

Unprofessional & inappropriate staff. Being without a job due to covid-19 I applied for a receptionist position at chai urgent care of Lakewood. I went through the first phone interview just fine. They proceeded with interest and called 3 of my references who then called me to tell me they had just given me a wonderful review. I was then asked to come for an in person interview at the Lakewood location. Upon arriving I was asked to come into the managers office and begin the interview. Almost immediately she asked me to take off my mask if I was comfortable with it which made me extremely uncomfortable! Under no circumstance is that following guidelines especially being inside of an urgent care during a pandemic! The interview proceeded and went very smoothly & seemed like bonus points having already worked within the system they use. Beside the fact that she had stopped the interview 3 times to “ease drop” on the receptionist and proceed to talk poorly about them. She tells me I seem great, I’m pretty, ect. So what was wrong? I wasn’t within there religious beliefs! My last name sounds Jewish because well it is Jewish as my grandfather is Jewish. Chai urgent care assumed my religion by my last name and was surprised to see I was in-fact not Jewish when I arrived. This is complete discrimination and I hope this helps someone out who is thinking of applying!

I went in with my daughter, The PA there was amazing, she was so patient and made my daughter feel at ease, she realized the issue right away. So quick was done in 5 minutes. Definitely recommend!

The woman behind the desk and some other woman of the office or medical staff had real attitude problems and were quite obnoxious. The nurse/medical assistant who took us in and the Dr and xray technician were kind and helpful though.

Amazing service and amazing staff. Very organized and efficient even when its really busy they are always moving along quickly and trying to get everyone on and out as fast as possible. Highly recommend this place.

I got a Covid test here two months ago. I felt I was going to contract Covid from being in there. They didn’t take my temperature when coming in, the waiting room was full and the receptionist was pulling down her mask to talk to me. The staff didn’t not change their gloves In front of me.

Doctor was extremely rude tried to deny me the test i requested because they were closing after already having an appointment. completely unprofessional and unsanitary in office. never going back

I was Covid tested on 11/15. Today is 11/22 and I still do not have a test result. I would NEVER use them again. Today I sit in a hospital room having tested positive at another facility for Covid. This facility’s lack of response is beyond the pale. Maybe you will want to risk your life by using them, but I never would.

Their motto is Get In. Get Out. Get Better.I must say how efficient this urgent care center is run is unparalleled.Add to that the superb service from the PAs and associates, you cant go wrong!!Definitely recommend!UDR

Covid test strictly for travel! Visit coded as a possible covid case! Unable to see my results online, not able to reach anyone by phone while in another country! Its been 8 weeks, I still do not see my lab results on the portal! My insurance was charged $300! Will be pursuing this further!

Quick & fast also late availability for covid 19 rapid test. The medical assistants were so friendly and kind they should be recognized.

Was there for covid test and could not be happier with the care received. We were taken right away and there were very few in the clean waiting room. Would definitely go back.

I came in on Friday with a infection on my arm. There were about 10 people waiting in the waiting room. There was NO doctor or PA on site. I was told that one was coming from the other location. ONE. I told them to dance my appointment and left. I was disappointed that I was not able to be seen.

Nice and big facility clean and comfortable , Usually it takes less then 10 minutes to be seen by a doctor, They have alot of books for kids to read meanwhile waiting and always some prices to get when leaving the office , highly recommend.

It was nice and fast we were in and out within 15-20minutes and the results came back faster than expected I will definitely be bringing me and my children back

Well it was my first time going to this urgent care and everyone was very friendly and I didn’t have to wait to long to get waited on.

Had to get patched up at the recent RCCS hockey tournament and they were friendly, professional, and knew what they were doing.

This place should be ashamed for charging $175.00 for a rapid Covid test when the rest of the state and PA are asking $50.00 reasonably. Highway robbery at its finest!

Went for a covid rapid test. Nowhere on their website did it state our insurance did not cover the expense and they told us once we got there that they did not have any left.

Great, in and out, staff was nice.The issue is the double parking...i tried a 14 point turn to get out...people just do whatever they want along the curb

Horrible experience. Went for covid test and the front desk workers seemed rude and dismissive. Got test done and was given no paperwork or information on how to obtain my lab results. Have been trying to call for two days to find out and both the front desk line and line for lab results do nothing but ring for minutes on end with no answer

My mother was in today as a new customer around 3:30pm she was struggling to do the application on the iPad and even though in various occasions she asked the two front desk girls for help they lacked the empathy to understand that she isn’t the best with technology on top of them not offering to help her she overheard them speaking badly of her and I think that is horrible and inhumane i surely do not recommend this place and surely will never let my mother go back
