Alpenglow Gynecology Rickie Guida, WHNP-BC

I know a one star review seems harsh, but it really was that bad. The front office is cramped and messy, the exam room was dirty (brown splotches on the instrument tray), and the staff were unhelpful (irregular office hours and hard to get a hold of). Dr Guida was dismissive of my concerns and quick to assume my condition without hearing all my background. I don’t know if this is normal procedure but after the Pap smear test she put the swab on the counter before putting it in the solution. Her response to me having issues with birth control was immediately giving me a new kind of birth control without telling me the possible side effects. She assumed the symptoms I was having were caused by PCOS because she misdiagnosed me with a “buffalo hump” and prompted me to get tests that cost me hundreds of dollars. Once I had got these tests I tried for weeks to call the office and try to get them to help me interpret the results. It was months later when they called me back. By then I had gone to a new OBGYN who was so much better and actually listened to my concerns and helped me interpret the tests. In summary, ladies, don’t go here. You deserve better.

I am so happy I found this place and Rickie I think may have saved my life. One look into my history and asking some questions she found that a medication I had been prescribed had been contributing to a very serious issue i had been dealing with. I am so grateful that I found her, she is so easy to talk to and listens to what im saying. I have recommended her to so many people and will continue to do so. The portal is easy to use and accessible. It is a little hard to get someone on the phone but considering that it is basically only two people I can understand why! Thank you guys

I searched really hard to find the right place for me, Dr. Guida was wonderful! As well as the office manager, really lovely ladies. I felt comfortable and well informed. I feel like Im finally back on track with my health and will see some much needed relief! Very excited moving forward, thank you both so much!

Rickie is a lifesaver! I have been going here for years and she always knows exactly what to say to make me feel better or to bring logic to my life. I got some real head scratcher infections after my child was born and she was able to treat me where others failed. I absolutely adore her and Jodi! I highly recommend this practice!!

Alpenglow Gynecology is a most welcoming practice.This feeling of comfort starts with Jody, the office manager. Dr. Rickie Guida is very personable and takes a true interest in the patient. She spent quite a bit of time going over my medical/family history. She answered my questions readily and concerns with understanding and warmth. Having newly moved to the area, I feel most confident under her care and highly recommend her practice.

Rickie is honestly the only one I trust with things relating to well just about everything. I have been in pain for 2 weeks my PCP told me it was a pulled muscle to wait it out. I went today to Rickie, totally wasnt a pulled muscle, and she fixed me. She got me in and got me out. And I didnt leave in pain. Thank you again.

Very disappointed. I was an established patient here, having seen Rickie a handful of times over the last 3 years. When I called last week expressing pretty urgent concern over pain related to my IUD, I never heard back. Left voicemails, sent emails, and was never able to get ahold of them to schedule an appointment. Doesn’t feel great knowing one of my established providers doesn’t care about my health. Called other offices that expressed concern and were able to help me out, so needless to say I won’t ever be back to Alpenglow.

One of the hardest things about moving is finding new medical professionals. Rickie and Jodi made me feel like I knew them for years! Such a comfortable office... I recommend Alpenglow for anyone in search of or wanting someone new.

Ive been seeing Rickie for quite a while now. She is always so caring and really tries to put her patients at ease. Additionally, shes just really nice and personable. Shes the best and I highly recommend her!

Rickie was great! Jodi at the front desk was helpful and attentive. I was looking for a new gynecologist near home and will definitely go back. She made me feel comfortable and answered questions and had good advice. Appointment started right on time, everyone was in masks the whole time. Office was clean and friendly.

Ricki is amazing and I have been going to her since my teens. She listens and cares about your health by making sure I have the right resources in place to stay healthy. I appreciate her and the staff at Alpenglow.

While I cannot claim to love going to the Gynecologist (seriously, who does), I can state that Rickie makes the visit as pleasant as possible. I always feel that I can ask questions and will receive an honest response; while I might be embarrassed about something I am discussing, Rickie quickly puts me at ease – she is candid, understanding, and happy to spend time going over any questions or concerns I raise. I highly recommend Rickie. I wish more health care professional could mirror her authenticity and caring.

Ricki was very thorough and personable. Very rare to find any doctor who spends more than 5-10 minutes with you. She took time to go over my whole history and concerns and I never felt like she was rushed to get to her next appointment. I highly recommend this practice for all your gynecologist needs. 😊

Front desk staff was welcoming and prepared for my first visit. I was seen on time. Ms. Rickie listened to me and asked pertinent questions. She made my exam very comfortable. I was not rushed, my questions were answered, everything was carefully explained. An A+ for sure!

Rickie is amazing to work with. She is very knowledgable and committed to helping her patients. I would recommend her, especially to young people as she is easy to talk to and ready to help.

Ricki is awesome definitely see her if you go here. Ricki is 5 stars!!!!! Didnt like that Julie made inappropriate comments about my weight though. Honestly only kept going here for Ricki after that.

Rickie is great! I feel very comfortable with her care. She addresses all my concerns in a thoughtful and caring way.

Went in for a new patient visit on July 1st in the afternoon. Dr. Guida was not very friendly or personable, basically just asking me the questions from the computer and nothing to get to know me or why I was there. Maybe she was tired after a long day, I dont know. I had blood work and a paps, and told it would take a couple weeks to get results back. Two weeks later I called and left a message asking if my results were in. Four days later I still hasnt heard anything so I went in the office. Dr. Guida informed me that not all my results were back yet, that she would look into in and get back to me. It has now been 6 weeks from my appointment, four weeks from last talking to Dr. Guida, and I havent gotten any call backs or anything. I have tried calling a few times but the number listed on the website says it is out of service. I dont know if she is still running her practice or not, but either way I say go somewhere else and dont waste your time with this doctor!

Although everyone was very kind during my visit, I had blood drawn for tests at my appointment and still have not been told my results three weeks later. I have called many times to try to get answers or ask that the results are uploaded to my portal and nothing has been done and I am still in the dark. It has been an extremely frustrating and disappointing trying to get answers.

As a young woman, I feel very comfortable with Rickie, which is very important to me. She is very knowledgeable, practical, and ensures I feel comfortable and informed. Rickie is the best!

Impossible to get anyone on the phone. i made an appointment request and then never received any communication regarding appointment confirmation and they want to bill me $150 for a no show fee. shady business practices and terrible customer service

I really like the care Ricky provides. However, getting someone to answer the phone at this clinic is next to impossible. It is really frustrating to the patient, ( at least to this patient). I have left messages in the past with no return phone call either. I finally have resorted to driving to the office to get questions answered. Inconvenient and time consuming at best!

Absolutely HORRIBLE. I had the worst experience here! I give zero stars. Do not go here!! First I called to have them check if I had coverage, they said I did and I did not! It took 5 months of me calling them to find out that they will not Discount or negotiate with me about the $2,500 bill that I now have bc they couldn’t bother to find out if I was covered. When I first got to the office, I heard one of the nurses yelling at someone in the back. They also said my yearly exam would be free and it was $257. It took 2 months to hear back about any results, I had to keep calling them for those results. I asked to speak to someone higher in the company about this, and the NURSE said she was it. If I had know I didn’t have coverage I never would have gone there.I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life. All other Obgyn’s that I called said I didn’t have coverage, why this company said I did is beyond me.. I also asked to have my records transferred from my old Obgyn, it has been 6 months and they still have not been transferred. They made very rude comments and spoke down to me as well. Do not waste your time or money with this company!!I recently called another ob and asked them to find out if I had coverage from my insurance and they quickly called me back and said I did not. For this company to claim they had no way to find out is a complete lie, they are just lazy.

Even after moving to the other side of town, Ill always travel to see Rickie. I feel safe and heard.

I was able to get an appointment ASAP even though I was a new patient. The office staff was reassuring & professional. The Doctor was easy to talk to and answered all my questions.

You listened... thank you. I am not getting the meds you prescribed. One was going to cost over $200./month which I cannot afford and I had purchased the 2nd one but discovered its an anti depressant. I am adamant about not using any kind of phychotropic medication..

Honestly Ricki is the best there. Found a lot of things wrong with me. Julie Ghelman however completely ignored all signs of my pcos and after only having two periods a year wanted to put me on the HCG diet and said it was all related to my weight. My weight when I started seeing them was 172, I ballooned in two years to 234lbs.The doctor here wanted me to try progesterone a third time to try and induce a menstrual cycle. It didnt work. I ended up going to planned parenthood where they finally did diagnose me with PCOS and an estrogen deficiency. Put on an estrogen birth control to help bring back a period and after two years of unexplained infertility I conceived. Funny how appropriate health care and being taken seriously actually does that.Also the year before I met with the doctor and went over all my history and family history. They must not keep great records because she had me do this exact appointment a year later. Also my first bloodwork here was borderline for PCOS but they also did an ultrasound that showed close to 15 follicles on each ovary.Dont waste your time here.

Worst experience Ive ever had at a medical establishment! I was left a message about my blood work and was prescribed some medication. I called back to get more detailed information multiple times and never got a return call. Very disappointed!!
