Amazing doctor. Awful wait time. My appointment was at 9:45 am. I came in on time and Im not a new patient. They called me in at 11:30 am. Its now 12:30 and Im still here (idk what they need from me. My appointment is over.) But the doctor is absolutely wonderful and nice!

I have it a 4 star the problem with the front they need more work at it I was supposed to be the 3 one in line to go in but they kept taking another before me other then that no problem I do love the doctor she does amazing.

The girls in the front are very rude I had a question and they kept ignoring me and both of them cut me off when I tried talking to them they gave me pills but they didn’t explain anything I asked how I was supposed to take the medicine and the girl said just take them and closed the window without letting me ask any further questions but Nurses are great they do a great job I can tell why the girls in the front are getting paid less because they have terrible attitude because of them I will not be going back I better go to a different place where they care and can answer my questions

Ive been a patient here for over 20 years. I have always felt the very existence of clinics like these are fundamentally important to a community. A community that has access to proper healthcare will only guarantee a healthy and thriving community. From physicals for sports to testing for diabetes and cholesterol to birth control. Preventative care is crucial! This is where people get the resources and knowledge to make decisions to better themselves and their families. The RGV is lucky to have Access Esperanza looking out for us and our children. I have built relationships with the wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable staff. All my questions are answered and even when the place is full and theres a long wait its worth my time. This is a great place for parents to get information to give to their own children. I know it can be embarrassing for some people to have The Talk with their kids but it is absolutely necessary for them. I always tell my kids, If you cant talk about it then you shouldnt be doing it. Make sure they get medical information from a professional and not their peers. While youre at it, tell your parents too. Rates of HIV and STDs of people over 60 would surprise you. The best thing about Access is the fact that the services here are low cost or free! As a waitress for many years with no health insurance, I depended on Access Esperanza to give me FREE check ups and birth control. I have insurance now and I am still a patient here because I know my money goes to help my community.

Very friend staff and flexible with scheduling. Very welcoming and you feel comfortable when being seen. Was scheduled first thing in the morning so the wait time wasn’t bad.

As a first timer, it hasnt been a great experience. The mission office had bad reviews so I chose this location. The staff is friendly, Ill give them that. Especially the woman that takes you into the first office and the doctor I got, she was especially sweet.They make you feel comfortable. I was private pay and it was pricier than the site I use. I think i had 3-5 exams and it was close to 5hun. The site offers 6 exams at 100. And now since the day of my appointment. No one answers the phones. I cant get any answers on whats going on with me. And I was called a day after my intial appt to told I had missed it! I was like NO maam cause I almost died of starvation. *kidding I had an appt @9:30am and wasnt seen til close to 1pm! Now Im just nervous for both my money being taken and I wont get any answers or results as to whats going on with me. And it turns out I could have applied for some sort of help. But no one lets you know to take documents with you. I carry only my ID. Overall my rating should be less. But Im giving it 3 stars for comfort. Im hopeful someone will answer in the days to come. Leaving work isnt easy but Ill have to go I person if this a persistent occurrence. And I dont get answers soon. Hope this review helped someone. The staff included.

The staff was amazing! Everyone was friendly, Especially Tanya. She made the experience great. They are a high quality clinic compared to some other places that seem like it.The wait time was longer than expected, but patience is key. Especially right now. I highly recommend.

I waited by the front and after making eye contact with 2 employees and not told anything (their personal conversation was more interesting) I thought maybe I was supposed to walk up since no one acknowledged me, so I did only to have a hand held to my face (not even looked at) and muttered something. Be rude somewhere else, patients are already there feeling sick. Understand that we don’t go for fun to spend some quality time with your miserable self. I work healthcare too and my surgeons office hours are your office hours, asking for 2 hours off in the morning to get the antibiotics and birth control refills from you guys was a 2 month PTO wait time and a luxury all I did was waste my time. The rep had a headband, Feb 24 at 9:14 right by the speaking hole to the right (from a pt’s perspective) of registration. You could benefit from additional training.

Doctor is very kind and professional. Five stars for her. I am absolutely impressed at how long this place takes. As I was looking at the review people were complaining about being there for 3-5 hours. I have made appointments for all three times I’ve been there and the fastest I have been in and out has been of 5 hours. My visit once took 7 hours for just a check up. This place is so helpful but never going back. Time is money!

I had my first appointment yesterday for my nexplanon removal and I was super nervous. All of the nurses and staff are super nice and the nurse that helped me and gave me all the information was so nice and helped me answer all my questions. Im so sad because I didnt get her name but she calmed me down and made me feel so comfortable. All the girls in the front are really nice too. You must go ready to wait which for me is very understandable because they all take their time to answer all your questions. The NP that did the procedure was super nice and guided me throught the whole process. Im so happy I went to them.

Yes the wait times are sometimes long but the staff is very nice and informative with whatever question I have. Been coming here for 2 years now and I am comfortable with this clinic. If you get your birth control for free leave a donation, it’s better than paying for diapers! Share your appreciation

My experience was actually very pleasant and I cannot imagine that this isnt business as usual. The staff are charming and friendly. I would only hope that every such clinical visit be this pleasant and comfortable. Very reasonable wait time and efficient treatment even with my stubborn fat guy veins! Lol.I cant imagine why anybody with my experience would offer less than a 5 star rating. Thank you and God bless

I was attending the women’s and men’s clinic while out of town but I recently moved back to the valley. I called the W&M clinic to refer me to a clinic and they recommended ACCESSS Esperanza as a facility near me and that they also trusted as I was due to remove my birth control. So I went for the first time today and my experience was exceptional! from the moment I walked in to the moment I left! Even before I went I had called the day before and the person that attended me over the phone was so polite and knowledgeable so patient she answered all of my questions. During my visit I didn’t have any issues and everyone was so nice again from the person at the front desk, the person that does the lab work and questions to the nurse practitioner. The person that did the questionnaire and lab work was amazing, very welcoming, answering all of my questions and concerns. I went to get my nexplanon removed the NP was so cautious and sweet she walked me through every step of what she was doing. Once I was done i had to go back to the circulation desk the guy was super friendly ,kind and explained what I should expect as far as my results go and even mentioned I could volunteer. I was stoked with my visit thank you everyone at Esperanza I felt well taken care of. If anyone goes make sure to make a donation to continue to provide these resources

I called and set up a same day appointment. The staff was very friendly and very polite. There was a wait time but wait time is a given in any clinic. I was very pleased and impressed on how cleanliness was a priority in that clinic. Totally recommend.

Place was immaculate! The best staff I have dealt with in my whole medical career. The staff are so friendly and so polite. The wait time was reasonable. I highly recommend this clinic any time. NP was awesome and very detailed Thank you Access!!

Great staff and low cost facility but if youre coming here dont plan anything else for the day. Just dont, I came in with an appointment at 6, got here at 5:15 and and currently being seated to be seen and its 8:51. Like I said aside from the wait its a good facility.Tips for not losing your sanity waiting:1.) Come with a full stomach2.) Bring a fully charged phone and have your Netflix/entertainment or a movie qued up and ready to go3.) Bring a charger or battery bank4.) Dont pray for patients before you come here because this is the place the good Lord puts in your path to test it.

I called asking if they did annual exams and they said yes. I booked appointment for 9 am and it took me over 4 hours for the the appointment to be completed. This place is more for birth control, STDS and Plan B. Staff was courteous but they need to work on efficiency. If you are looking for just an annual exam this is not the place.

This place is awesome. Seriously. I had the pleasure of meeting with one of the doctors, her name was Michelle. She was supper amazing and was very informed on any questions that I had. The front desk staff was very friendly! I recommend making an appointment. This place is LGBTQ+ friendly and is perfect for rapid STDs/HIV exams. All in all, great clinic! I will definitely recommend to anyone that needs clinical help. Thank you Access Esperanza!

Ive been going here for almost a year. I love the care and Ive grown comfortable with the doctors that always take care of me. Theres one in particular in which I always feel very comfortable and at ease and I feel safe to ask any type of questions I may have and wont feel judge or anything, BUT I recently had a bad experience two weeks ago. I made an appointment for a Friday at 3:30pm. From my understanding the people that make appointments are priority. Well, it was already 4:20pm and I still wasnt called on. I finally get called and right after I FINALLY get placed in a room, this nice nurse explains to me how sorry she was bc the doctor had to leave on an emergency. I was passively furious because I made an appointment and got the short end of the stick. So, I rescheduled my appointment for the following Friday only to find out that this doctor in which I had NEVER seen saw me. I honestly didnt like her vibe at all. All that time she kept asking on why I got retested etc I felt very uncomfortable because she made this big deal out of it which first of all its none of her business on why I decided to get retested. She then made a comment in which I found highly inappropriate in regards to my reply in why. She started saying how being paranoid is a mental illness. I couldnt believe my ears. I couldnt believe this lady. After that she just told me to wait outside and didnt even asked if I had any questions in regards to that day. Believe me, I had questions but felt very judged and highly uncomfortable around her. I go there to get taken care of, not to feel judge. I left so furious that day. She might be a good doctor, but her morals and her comments really suck. Straight up. Im highly disappointed.

Im usually scared to go to clinics and hospitals but once I pass my nerves and stepped up to take an exam here it is then how I found out how fell friendly and courteous and professional all the staff were. The facility was super clean along with well maintained equipment. They made me feel comfortable right at home and supported my health. Truly one of the greatest clinics Ive ever been to in the Rio Grande Valley thank you so much highly recommend!

If there was an option less than 1 Star, I would rate it -5. This place is terrible. The wait is 3-5 hours. Like really? That is just unacceptable.The staff is rude as well. They call in my wife FINALLY after 3 hours of waiting and I walk inside with her & the nurse says “um excuse me? Who are you?” And I said “I’m Adan, I’m with my wife?” So then she says “oh no no no, you have to step out.”I believe a simple “I’m sorry sir, but I’m going to ask if you can please step up out due to policy purposes.” Would’ve been a lot better.THEN once my wife was already in and the nurse kicked me out, they had my wife waiting for about an hour and a half just for someone to attend her. My wife said she also overheard another lady next door saying “I have been here for the longest time just waiting.”So clearly we aren’t the only ones who have had a bad experience here AND this place has A LOT of things that need to be worked on.Will we ever come back to this place? NO.Would we ever recommend this place? NO.Did we have a good experience at this place? NO

Great staff, I was treated very kindly. Yes, it is a long wait but not if you make an appointment. The place is very clean and they helped me out and made sure my insurance covered the procedure! Really pleased. Thank you for your service!

There is a bit of a wait, I had my appointment @ 8:30 and didn’t leave til around 11 BUT they offer great services. They give you so much information and resources, they treat you great and the wait is worth it. The cost is low to none and that’s always a bonus.

Amazing experience. I’ve been coming to Esperanza for four years and I’ve been to three different clinics and I’ve always felt very welcome and very SAFE!! Always super friendly to me and super helpful! Every question is always answered no matter how many times I may ask the same one! When you go to access esperanza, you’re going to friends!

The wait seems long but is normal. Staff is fast and professional and friendly. The nurses always exceed in professionalism Over all it’s just a great clinic

They were very helpful, very informative and took care of me like family. The facility was very clean and all the medical personnel were exceptionally friendly to the point that it didnt feel like a Dr.s office. I recommend 100%.. keep doing what you guys do best and thank you for all your help.

Worst clinic ever, front desk never greets you and always have a face like they hate their job, dont care about patients. They have rescheduled my appt 3 times already and today after sitting there for an hour and half they call me to reschedule again simply because the Dr. Gives his services for free and he practically gets his lazy ass up and leaves whenever he wants. What of way to contribute. Never going back again and I defenitely dont recommend this place to nobody.

Nice staff. They offer low cost health services for men and women. If youre low income you might qualify for free services.Long wait. Had an appt at 9. Was 13 on the list. Got out like at 1pm. But didnt pay so not complaining.

5/5 stars- I’ve been coming to the Mcallen clinic for years and I’ve had consistently positive experiences. The exams are quick, thorough, and (personally) painless. I’ve also never faced any sort of judgement or prejudice as a trans queer person. They asked for my pronouns and answered every question I had in a kind tone with clear terms.

Everyone was very kind and helpful. I did take 4 hours there but I honestly can’t complain. I read the reviews and knew to bring something to watch a movie on to make time pass.

Had a great experience here the staff were really friendly and helpful I didn’t like the wait time and how long i took to be seen i got there at 1:30pm and left at 3:30pm also i got there before this girl and she was seen before i was i was mad at that. But other then that great place to go i would highly recommend it.

This clinic takes forever to finally see you. There was on time I literally waited two hours to just pick up birth control. I also don’t feel like the people in the front care about the patients at all. Really hate the environment here

Not helpful. Thought they were there to help people. Clinic closes at 5:00 and they stop seeing people before that. I understand people wanna go home as soon as possible but they are dealing with people’s health and bodies. Some things are time-sensitive. Appreciate the clinic for it’s availability and resources but my last visit was disappointing.

The young Asian girl took a biopsy test of me she pinched to hard it hurt a lot I believe she messed up my nerves it has been a year and till this day I still have leg pain and bad circulation on my right leg pain that I have never had before the lab test. I will never go there again

All of the staff are well educated and follow best practices. This is more than an STD and birth control clinic, it offers annual pelvic exams and 3-year Pap smears. It even offers anemia, diabetes, and cholestrol testing. They do accept insurance and have grants for people without insurance.

First time here, I am grateful for the great treatment given to me, great Doctor, she explained everything very clearly. Great staff, very helpful in all aspects.

Even with schedule it takes a while sometimes but it clean and the staff member are very nice. I have been going there for 5 or 6 years but call before you go in because certain things are for certain days.

A clinic that serves very well. And they help you when you need it, but if you are going to come, whether with an appointment or without an appointment, you will have to bring a lot of patience because it will take a long time to get to you. I came to the laboratory fasting and it took more than two hours.

They speak Spanish, inside it is a place that is not so small, not so big, they do not charge a donation, STD tests, pap smears and they also provide contraceptive methods such as the IMPLANT, you have to wait at least one hour, the results of the studies are totally confidential .

I think its a good clinic, its very sad that one has to come alone. Personally, I have a child with autism who at the moment still doesnt go to school. Im a single mom and I dont have anyone to take care of my son. I came here to the valley. from Texas alone to work now I need medical attention and I came and they did not want to receive me because I brought my son I explained to them that I do not have anyone to take care of him because here I am alone and I do not know anyone Still they denied me my visit I missed my appointment and Although I am very worried about my health, I dont know what the hell Im going to do. They should change that rule. I know they are taking care of people, but they should consider that there are people alone without any kind of help like me and we have to bring our children. where we go
