Had the absolute best experience here the other day. I was extremely nervous since it had been a few years...From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted and spoken to with nothing but pure kindness and respect. (I am very heavily tattooed and pierced and unfortunately do not receive that very often.) Everyone I encountered was wonderful, knowledged and friendly. The provider answered every question I had and was very sweet and comforting. The office itself is exceptionally clean and the appointment (scheduled online) was very simple.I am so so so grateful for this place and everyone working there. Ill definitely continue to visit this location for any and all applicable services. 💛

Website says you guys offer free STD/DTI screenings and I show up to be told I have to pay $230. Im already struggling to pay bills as is. Last time I got tested at PP they didnt charge me after bringing in my paystub. Please dont advertise services that you dont actually offer or advertise free when service is not free. no payment plans were offered either which I thought was odd cause Ive been to other locations that offer payment arrangements

Absolutely horrible experience, I took my 17 year old daughter today to obtain birth control. From the moment we got in there absolutely rude. My daughter wanted me in there with her for support when she was told that I couldn’t be in there with her, that I wasn’t allowed to wait for her nor go in the back room. She was nervous but we understood, after this I was completely ignored then was asked how I would be paying I mentioned we had insurance but I was not under my name they proceed to ask for her id and mine which made absolutely no sense as I was no getting any services done. The staff was rude from the front desk medical assistant to the back MA. So my daughter went back there asked to get the IUD and they proceeded to tell her she couldn’t get it done because it was too late in the day, (then why the hell would they schedule her appointment at 4:40pm) they charged us for her visit and sent her off told her she can schedule an appt whenever she wants through the app. The charged us for a visit where they nothing sent her home with a stack of paperwork and closed shop. Absolutely unprofessional and unwelcoming. Planned parenthood should not be this kind of experience it should be somewhere where people no matter who it is can feel comfortable and safe. Honestly very disappointed

Everyone at this location is very welcoming. However, I was told that I would get a call explaining my test results. I never got a call and went onto my portal to see my results for myself. They never sent over my prescription, and I had to wait over the weekend with symptoms that I couldn’t treat. I had to call them on Monday to reach back out to me to send my prescription. It is extremely hard to get in contact with this location.

Ive been coming here for a couple of years now; The staff are always friendly and very helpful. The place feels clean and safe. The only reason Im giving it 4 stars is because Ive had a couple miscommunications (the most recent one affected my prescription) with them, and most of the time, they dont use the preferred pronouns that Ive filled out on the intake paperwork.. That being said, whenever I call, the staff does everything they can do to help out, and they are always friendly and patient. Everyone who works there is always willing to answer any questions with detailed knowledge. I would highly recommend this place. :)

Front desk staff was very condescending. This was my first ever bad experience at planned parenthood so I’m pretty surprised at how I was treated by this particular front desk lady. Had a great appointment with doctor but after I was informed of my copay which she NEVER told me about. She said she told me but I told her that she must have mistaken me for another patient who she called up after me. She never once apologized just kept saying she told me which she clearly did not. I didn’t mind paying the copy but she was so condescending in her manner and never even gave an apology if there was a miscommunication. I get having a demanding job but it’s not hard to be kind.

EDIT: I want the health manager to reach out to me. You guys are impossible to reach.Worst experience ever with billing and insurance. I got an iud removal several months ago and have had the worst time getting them to process my bill correctly. Before my appt I verified that this would be covered under insurance with my insurance and planned parenthood themselves. When I got to the office they also assured me it was covered under insurance. Then 2 months later I got a bill saying I owed the full amount. After an hour of being on hold I finally got to talk to someone who said they never ran the bill through insurance (even though they had the insurance card on file). The lady I talked to also said she would send it through insurance. Now it’s 2 months later and I have gotten another bill saying I owed the full amount. Today I’ve waited on hold for an hour and 15 min and I can’t get ahold of anyone to actually solve this issue. I am beyond frustrated and will never use planned parenthood again.

Went to this location today with my roommate who’s never been tested before. Both of us are queer and active and we want to be safe. When I went on the website and put this location in and checked payments it said explicitly “we’ll never turn you away from the care you need because of your inability to pay”. When we arrived we were told that screening for STD/STI would be anywhere from $100-300 which we cannot afford at all. I asked about any sort of adjustment based on our finances, as the site suggested, and the receptionist looked at me like I was an idiot. She said funding had been cut, which I understand entirely, but the website is still claiming that they can provide healthcare to ALL regardless of situation. My roommate was prepared to just pay the insane fee, but when he got into the back room, he saw pride flags and signs saying that healthcare was for everyone and that he was safe there and, after the way we’d been treated up front, it felt patronizing and uncomfortable. He ended up leaving with me and both of us are very disappointed in planned parenthood, especially after having been supportive of the cause for so long.

Made an appointment a month in advance, called to confirm they take my insurance got the OK and took time off my job and had my SO take time off their job so they could drive me. This office decided to call me 2 hours before my appointment to tell me they cannot see me because I have one of the insurance plans they dont have a contract with under AHCCCSNot only did they cancel my appointment while i was on the way but they also told me they couldnt see me even if I wanted to pay out of pocket because they Cant take my money or see me due to my insurance It wouldve been great to know this before or have this information public so I didnt have to waste my time.

Great experience, great staff. I hadnt been to a PP in 25 years! Still a solid supportive organization for everyone! You can feel the kindness. Keep it up!

The staff here are amazing, they make a very welcoming and supportive environment. They put value in your word, which is unfortunately not so common in healthcare anymore. I had an appointment ahead of time and I waited about an hour and a half to be seen but it’s well worth the quality of their care. If anyone I know ever needs any sort of the help that this place can offer I’ll be sure to refer them to this location :-)

Receptionists were very condescending. I was not a minor at the time of going but they assumed i was and snarkily told me i wont be covered by minor state insurance. when i tried explaining that i was coming to change my birth control she got even angrier and told me thats not what my appointment said and they cant help me because i still had my first dose left (had massive side effects and NEEDED to change). tried telling me i had to pay a fee just to be there. all and all i had to leave because i could not be helped and she had no desire to listen to what i had to say. disgusting and condescending attitudes.

I just moved to Arizona, I have a very low income and no insurance, so without planned parenthood i wouldn’t not be able to get any treatment anywhere else. Coming in the nurses were extremely polite and receptive, they answered all my questions and were really funny. I came early and did the paperwork and they brought me in right away at exactly my appointment time at 1:40. I was nervous about getting the birth control insert in my arm and they answered all my questions and didn’t have to wait very long. It was super professional, fast, and painless. They even gave me a bag of condoms at no charge! I was out the door by 2:30 when i had 2 different appointments for std testing and birth control. I love PP. donate as much as you can. I appreciate the services you provide and the professionalism. I’d recommend this PP to anyone. Negative reviews are crazy. This place is great :).

My first time going to a Planned Parenthood and my experience was above average. I drove all the way from the Maryvale center after they denied my appointment for being late because I had a difficult time finding the building. I didnt mind the wait time at the Mesa location because the doctor was really nice and comforting which made it worth every second of my time. She made the whole process seem really effortless and nothing to be nervous about (got the implant). The staff was overall friendly and answered all of my questions. The facility is also very clean. If you are patient and have a positive attitude, you will have a positive experience here.

I went in for an IUD removal and they were not able to find it. I was uncomfortable for ten minutes as she searched without communicating what was going on. Once she gave up she just told me I should try going somewhere else. She did not tell me if it had moved or anything just said that I should be fine and left the room quickly. Really unprofessional if the reason you are going for an IUD removal here is for a cheaper price go to an actual OB they charged me the same amount and did not keep me in the dark about what was going on in my body. Do better.

I had the best experience. Making my appointment was quick and easy. I went back within 5 minutes of checking in, Christine was so sweet and welcoming! My doctor (Bethany) was super helpful in answering all my questions and making sure I felt 100% before leaving the office.

Absolutely ridiculous place! I went here a few months back for an official pregnancy test and let me tell you..... HOW UNSANITARY!!! They literally make you pee in a Dixie-like coffee cup. No cover, no sanitary wipes, and there was no container to put the cup in so it just sat there. Also the receptionists were very rude and not knowledgeable in anything. I got confirmation on the phone that the Mesa location did ultrasounds and once I asked the front desk ladies they stared at me like I was stupid and said and I quote Uh, no. We have never done ultrasounds. with a snarky attitude. I asked her why they confirmed in on the phone for that exact location AND it was listed as a choice on the medical form, she responded with rolling her eyes as she says I dont know. The only decent service I got out of that place was the pregnancy consultant they hand you when you get tested positive to see if you want to terminate or not. Overall, I would NOT RECOMMEND this place at all. You will most likely get better service and have sanitary procedures seeing a doctor in Mexico than going here.

Good and bad experience at the Mesa location. When you walk in, youre in an enclosed area where you have to talk to the front desk staff behind a glass wall. If someone is waiting behind you, they can hear everything because the space where you wait is so small.The front desk lady didnt understand my insurance and made me pay a certain amount to be seen. Something seemed funny so I asked a different girl about why I was charged so much and she gave me a different story. I tried to call their billing department and left messages. After a week of calling, still havent been able to speak to someone. Come to find out by insurance company, I was overcharged.The ONLY reason I gave 2 stars is because the nurse and doctor were friendly. They were kind and patient when asking questions and answering my questions unlike the front desk staff. I will never come back here again! I never had this problem at the Chandler location.

A longer wait. Sign says they do walk-ins but they seem too busy for that. About half the cost and much more thorough than urgent care clinics. Staff is competent and seems to have interest in helping. Very nice to me but I heard the desk woman speak a bit brusque to a patient, but I dont know what the situation was (referring to comments about her).

They are ill informed and do not understand anything. I can ask a million times who I need to contact to get an issue resolved and no one knows. The staff can not give you straight answers. I came in for my regular birth control shot. I usually go to the Tempe location, but due to provider changes at Tempe the knew provider was not certified for my insurance but this location was. Came here, and I dont know if its their new systems or what but they tried to have me pay $60 for birth control, which is FREE AND COVERED BY MY INSURANCE. I have been receiving this shot for over 8 years and never paid a dime. (Whether I go to my doctors or to a P.P) This location tries to make me pay $60?!? I dont know what insurance scam, fraud they are playing, but do not go here! When asked about the charge, they claim it is due to needing to see a doctor for the insurance. When talking to my insurance company, P.P. is running it a different way than normal. They have no explanation for why they are charging the insurance differently resulting in my payment, no way to contact their insurance department. Big scam, and no information to help the issue. DO NOT GO HERE

The front desk lady is rude and condescending. Its as if she hated her job and everyone that visits. My daughter and I felt attacked from the start, there was literally nothing said nicely or in a kind manner. Not the experience I wanted for my 15yr old daughter who is trying to be a responsible teenager and learn to protect herself and care for her body. I was hopeful they would make her feel comfortable, educate and answer any questions she may had, but they just treated her rudely. This particular site is the worst.

I have a problem with the way they treated me the last time I was there. I was on Medicaid which I have confirmed with them recently does cover my visits but they asked me how I was going to pay and when I said insurance they acted like they didn’t take insurance. Also, they tried to tell me that my blood pressure was high even though I see my regular doctor all the time and they have never said that. They actually refused me service or the birth control that I was there for just because my heart rate was a little high that day but I have acid reflux and thyroid disease which can sometimes cause heart palpitations so it could have just been from that. I’ve also confirmed with my PCP more than once that I do not have a blood pressure problem. Planned Parenthood is supposed to be a pro-women clinic but they literally found any excuse to deny me care.

There are better locations to go to if you can make it. I can not stress how much the front desk lady and her pack of receptionists have nasty condescending attitudes. She is unknowledgeable to the point of being negligent, unhelpful and snotty every time I come here for something and the way this lady talks to people is truly disgusting and disappointing. I’ve had appointments canceled on me for no reason and when I’ve called back either been laughed at hung up on or both. I’ve had professionals not take me seriously but this place has some of the worst staff I’ve seen at a PP.

It was a pretty good experience since it was my first time going. I made my appointment online and only had to wait about 10 minutes all I had was to wait for my insurance. The nurses were really nice and very helpful. The only downside was having to pay a $78 copay.

Clean and socially distanced. I came to start the birth control shot and I left within half an hour. Since I was self pay, they reiterated and educated me about the cost when I checked in, during the visit, and after the visit. All the staff were very informative and friendly. I would recommend this facility to everyone!

First time Ive ever gone and this place makes me never want to go to one again. I walled Im and twenty minutes passed before they realized they hadnt even given me paperwork. I had an appoint at 3:50 and here I am. At 4:50. Writing a very a review as a very pissed off customer. Also, Hipaa violations. No confidentiality whatsoever when the top of the wall doesnt even go to the ceiling. Have heard every conversation between the secretary and other patients.

The wait is extremely long and not worth their service. I have had several bad experiences. The first time I was here I waited an hour and 15 minutes in the lobby and then another 45 minutes in the doctors office to see the doctor. Another time, I came in because it says they accept walk ins and she literally said oh yeah we do, just not today. It was not a special day.. it was a Thursday around 5pm. Today I came in at 3:30pm because I was in the area. My appointment is for 5:15pm but since I ALWAYS wait a minimum of an hour and a half I figured I may as well come in early. She told me they wouldnt be able to take me early and I said it was okay and that I would just wait. Then, she wouldnt even let me sign in. The lobby was very hot and she expected me to sit in that little area for almost 2 hours before letting me sign in so I left.

I support planned parenthood, but the receptionist was really rude. I wanted to set up a appointment for birth control and they didn’t accept my healthcare(which is fine), I then asked to pay in cash and continue with the appointment and she said they don’t accept cash. I left very confused had to call back the next day to get an appointment set up.

I decided to come to planned parenthood as it is way faster than getting an appointment at my primary doctors office. I needed a blood test and made an appointment as instructed on the website only to find out when I got there that they dont even do blood tests. The woman (who was very cold) said Id only get a urine test. Ive already taken 5 at home urine tests, I dont need another. Which, by the way, costs $20. Thats ridiculous considering I bought two packs of urine tests that have 3 tests each for about the same price. I went there as this is a time pressed issue just to be told by the woman at the front desk to go to my primary doctor anyway. She gave me the paperwork like she expected me to stay. I walked out and didnt give that place a cent. False advertisement wasted my time.

Every single time I go into their building I feel very unwelcome and judged. The ladies are extremely rude and unprofessional. They cut you off in mid-sentence and never are offering any other sort of help. Im unsatisfied with the customer service they provide and think managers need to look more into hiring a more friendly work environment. Especially in this building for women who are shy.

This planned parenthood location is literally the best! I needed a birth control refill and couldn’t get into my primary care physician quickly enough. The providers were so kind and helpful!

I went there to get an IUD since my AHCCCS insurance didnt cover it for my regular Ob/gyn. I got the IUD I wanted and it didnt cost anything to me. The staff was very respectful and made sure I understood exactly what was going on and that I was comfortable. The entire process was quick and easy with hardly any wait time. I couldnt be happier. Highly recommend.

I didnt have any of the experience other reviewers did with the front desk staff. She was nice, understanding, and patient, and the doctor also felt comfortable and caring. I left with a list of resources I could use as well.

Ive always had high feelings for planned parenthood and the services they offer. NOT ANYMORE. When my 19 year old step daughter went in tonight on her own to get birth control pills, an intimidating experience enough for a young 1st timer, the woman (plus 1 other) working the front desk was completely rude and bullied her. I am so upset and let down by this facility. She was so out of line that when my daughter had problems filling out a paper the woman at the front desk turned to the other and said I think shes gonna start crying Are you kidding me??!!! AVOID THIS PLACE AND GO TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. My family has made donations to Planned Parenthood, we fully support what they do, and I am beyond shocked to know they ARE TREATING WOMEN SO POORLY. SHAME ON YOU LADY!

It’s a shock and amazement to me that this location is even in business with the way they talk to and handle patients. I have NEVER in my life been treated so poorly as I was by the woman at the front desk. She had a nasty attitude and was very short with me as I tried to fill out paperwork. I ended up walking out. I had ignored what I had heard about it and went anyway because I needed a procedure done, but it’s just as bad as they all said. It’s a filthy establishment built on lies and I hope it’s gone and defunded sometime in the near future.

The Clinician prescribed me 20mg Microgestin birth control. I used it for a while but it didnt regulate anything. I called into their customer service line because they dont have a direct number. waited over an our to speak with someone. The rep told me in need to come in and pay another $70 to sit down with the clinician so she can prescribe me 30mg Microgestin instead. UMMM NO. DO NOT LET THEM DO THIS. I dont need to have a consultation for that. Eventually I was able to speak with the clinician who changed the prescription but it left me feeling like they are just after peoples money. That is ridiculous for a so called organization who gets donations.

These guys dont even deserve one star. If I could give negative stars I would. Rude. Unfriendly people. Even to pick up birth control takes too freaking long. Its ridiculous. Im convinced they just like to waste peoples time.I cant make another review so Ill add to this one. This is from 7 months later.... I dont understand why it takes 40 minutes to pick up a pack of birth control! This is freaking ridiculous. Once my prescription runs out in a few months... Im never coming back. Ill pay more and go to a real pharmacy and doctor.

I am very disappointed in this place. I was forced to pay a copay when I do not have a copay with my insurance. My insurance card clearly states MRA account, do not collect copay. I know I have 20% coinsurance but I still don’t have a copay because my MRA and HCSA pays what the insurance does not pay. Every other doctor’s office that I go to, knows how to bill me correctly, and I never have to pay anything. Last time I went to this exact location, I was not forced to pay anything and I had the same insurance. I will be contacting my bank and filing a dispute for the amount that they charged me for which was $16.00.

The doctor here isnt thorough. When a certain birth control option was just not going to fit (I wasnt given a consultation for this), she automatically switched me over to the pills, again, without consultation. I cant take pills because I have a family history of stroke and I myself have major blood clotting. If she had asked she would have known that pills could potentially kill me, thank god my old OBGYN from my home-state lets me ask him questions and verify with even though I cant go to him anymore. So now I am home with pills I cannot take. Waste of half a day, and $25. Glad I checked for myself before I just popped some pills just because the first option didnt work.

If I could give it less I would. So rude and wouldnt let partner go back. Then when we got there they said they didnt even do ultrasounds after calling and confirming twice. This place is awful. Take the extra time too set up an appt and find a doctor that actually cares. Place shouldnt be running.

Everyone was extremely nice to me, they understood my situation of No Healthcare and gave me the option of Title X. Which I thankfully got approved for 100% and I was able to get my birth control for free. Im eternally grateful for Planned Parenthood and all their help.

Rudest staff I have ever encountered. Essentially because I made the wrong type of appointment then that means I dont get any appointment. Some centers are good. Avoid this one at all cost.

Do not take banner subset of ahcccs, referring me to see primary care provider. I do not have a primary care provider. Do not contact you via email, text. Supposedly called before appointment. If you cant use this clinic through state medical service can they say they provide services to low income people? Bait and switch.

Very very bad. doctor have to see all appointment patient first. So if your walk-in and pregnant. youre due to wait for everyone have appointments to be done. mother and baby dont need to eat and sit there to wait for 3-6hrs. therere NO priority. will never return.

Called to see what type of prenatal care they offer due to not having health insurance at the moment and being pregnant with twins. The woman laughed and said we don’t do prenatal care but I can schedule a termination. So glad the government stopped funding them. Planned parenthood is evil

OMG! The Lady at the front desk is a mesa! Its time for training on a Saturday! All day like they do when you get a ticket and have to go to driver ed. She is in the fast lane for real, for real. Yep, Imma need that paperwork back before I go boo.

The front desk receptionist is definitely RUDE and condescending. But other than that, everything/everyone else were great.

I waited a reasonable amount of time to be taken back. I only spent about an hour there considering I was a new patient. The staff was super nice and friendly.

I’m highly disappointed that they say they’re affordable. As someone who works full time and have no medical insurance I’d need to give up two days of pay in order to afford my appointment.

Friendly staff. Yesterday the front desk girl was rude but today the girl is super nice. She was very knowledgeable to guide me in the right direction.

Their website never specified that this location doesn’t do blood work and I get there and they wanted me to take a pee test for $30. I don’t think so I can go to the store and get two for $10.

Cheap and safe medical services. I’m old so birth control isn’t an issue. I go because I don’t have insurance and need care for thyroid disease.

The waiting room was packed, and I had to wait 2.5-3 hours to be seen. (As did everyone else.) The woman next to me was only there to pick up supplies, and she still had to wait 3 hours. Staff was okay, but the place is poorly managed.

Worst place. They told me to come in to get my deppo shot and then insisted that Im too early and made me sit in the waiting room for an hour and a half without letting me know. Waste of time.

Made my appoint online said they take my insurance only to get there to find out they dont. Now have to take time off work for a second appointment

I went to other planned parenthood before.. the lady up front.. very rude and didnt even know what she was doing.. I walked out.. going back to my old location.. where they know were what their doing..

They take forever to call you in. I had to wait 2 hours but other than that the doctor was really nice and answered all my questions. :)

Super clean facilities, I felt very safe and respected the entire time. The staff was super nice and accommodating!

Good staff, but I waited there for 3 hours just for my depo shot.

They dont seem to be good at keeping appts here... every time I come here they are at least an hour behind with unhappy people in the waiting room.
