I chose RMA as the clinic for my egg freezing after doing research about their success rates and after having an initial conversation with Dr. Nazem. I was so pleased with the conversation and with my research that I cancelled consultations with other clinics in order to move things along with RMA. It was the best decision. You are in the best hands under the care of their predominantly female led team. Every doctor, nurse, and staff member led with kindness and empathy. Whether I was asking questions or they were going over results, each team member was extremely thorough with their explanations. I had a fair amount of trouble understanding how to mix the injections and was given step by step instructions by one of the nurses in the office the following appointment. The day of the procedure, I was inevitably a little nervous and overwhelmed with all the commotion. From the front desk team member to the anesthesiologist, I was comforted and welcomed with absolute kindness. This made all the difference in my experience. I would without a doubt reccommend RMA to anyone looking for fertility treatment and want to thank the Westside team, Eastside weekend team, and the Operating Room team for such a positive experience.

Dr. Nazem is great. I did two cycles with her. Fantastic experience, all staff are professional and efficient. Never had long wait times for the regular bloodwork/ultrasounds. Rating lower because the finance team, mainly post procedure, is horrible. I had questions about a bill and spent three weeks calling regularly with no one available and no one returning my call. I finally emailed my care coordinators and they started helping me get attention. Once my questions were answered and I was ready to pay my bill, I ran into the same issue - online system hasn’t been working for over a week and no one on finance will call me back to take payment. If you don’t need to get in touch with finance and are ok mailing checks - highly recommend RMA

I can’t say enough good things about RMA. We were at another clinic for almost a year, and transferring to RMA was the best decision we made. Dr. Stein is straightforward and always took the time to answer questions or meet with us. His whole team - Rachel and Jackie in particular - are incredible and so responsive and thorough. The level of communication and transparency at RMA is unmatched. We’re so grateful to Dr. Stein and RMA for helping make our dreams come true!

Saw Dr Stein. Just bad all around, and expensive. Started with IUI and overresponded; way to many eggs and visual side effects.when moving to IVF was given super high dose of medication despite my obvious sensitivity to fertility meds, simply given standard dose due to my age. My AMH was equivalent to a 32 year old despite being 40 but No attention given to my specific case, just given the same old procedure for those with diminished ovarian reserve (which was NOT my problem). Despite several eggs fertilized (like 20) only 1 made to day 5. Dr Stein didn’t inform us of genetic testing results and when we spoke to nurse on follow up appt she mentioned the abnormal embryo… what? We said. She said “oh nobody told you guys?” She left quickly and she could be overheard in next room speaking to another nurse who comforted her “it’s not your fault you didn’t know they weren’t told.” Um? Medical note keeping? I mentioned to Dr Stein my suspicion the the medication level was way too high and he dismissed this, moved on to a long lupron protocol with just slightly lower dose of medication. Same abysmal results but no ideas after that. The worst was getting my blood taken. Some poor woman left the bloodwork area and spoke cheerfully with the medical assistants about being back to cycle again after needing a break for a few months. About 10 seconds after she left they laughed and stated their disbelief that she was back try again, with one saying “if she gets pregnant I’ll by you lunch.” They probably thought nobody could hear them but they were only about 6 feet away from me and not being particularly quiet.I went to Generation Next and had 3 normal embryos after 2 rounds of gentler IVF tailored to my individual needs.RMA has no creativity or empathy in their approach. Go elsewhere!

Dr. Stein was absolutely amazing throughout our pregnancy journey and oversaw us through two successful IVF transfers. Unfortunately due to heartbreaking medical complications we had to terminate our first pregnancy and when we first learned of the news Dr. Stein made himself available after hours for an emergency consultation. This was a very hard time for us and he showed compassion, understanding and gave us hope for a better tomorrow and that we would be able to restart the IVF process once my wife healed. My wife and I had moved after our first transfer, and even though there was a closer RMA clinic 30 minutes away we decided to travel an hour and a half each week to see Dr. Stein for our weekly checkups. While an inconvenience for us to travel, we were not just another number to number to Dr. Stein. He always knew our chart and our situation, which gave us tremendous confidence. We are very grateful for Dr. Stein and highly recommend his expertise.

I had a great experience with my egg freezing cycle at RMA with Dr. Nazem. It was always easy to get in touch with someone, and they were able to quickly and effectively answer any questions before, during and after my cycle. Dr. Nazem (and every doctor I encountered) had a great bedside manner. She was great at putting everything in terms that were easy to understand, and made me feel very educated about the process. I would recommend Dr. Nazem and RMA to anyone!

I had a traumatic experience here at an egg preservation consultation with Dr. Stein. I was upfront with Dr. Stein and his nurse about being in recovery from an eating disorder. I told them explicitly that I didn’t want to know my weight; it’s important to my recovery. They completely disregarded this, told me anyway, and told me I’d have to lose 4 lbs if I wanted the procedure due to “state regulations.” For many reasons, this is ridiculous. I went elsewhere for my treatment and had an extremely successful egg retrieval where I was treated with dignity. This is not a safe space for fat people or people with eating disorders.

Wish I could give zero stars, absolutely terrible service. They make everything more confusing than it needs to be, make it hard to get in touch with nurses and doctors and their standard is to give you no insight into tests and procedures and what they mean for your health and reproductive chances. Clearly a mill with way too many patients, terrible systems, and they cannot get up. Patients deserve better especially considering how much they charge.

I recently graduated from RMA at 9 weeks pregnant and I couldnt be happier. My journey to get here was long and heartbreaking, after each setback my husband and I endured. After 3 miscarriages, I was referred to Dr. Stein by a friend who had done a successful IVF transfer with him. I started advocating for myself a little harder after the second miscarriage which led me to see a fertility specialist. Dr. Stein immediately did karyotype testing on my husband and myself, among other test and determined I had a translation which had been the reason for my miscarriages. We immediately started IVF, and after 3 cycles I am pregnant with my first child. Dr.Stein and his team has been amazing and I wouldnt be here without him.I couldnt be happier!Thank you Dr. Stein.

If there were such a thing as zero stars or negative stars, it would be warranted. If you enjoy accumulating bills, getting nothing in return, getting treated like a number instead of a human and have to beg to speak with the doctor to get clarity than by all means go with RMA. My wife and I literally received a bill from the doctor because he needed to explain the results of the treatment. This place is nothing more than a billing machine. Our experience with RMA was an absolute nightmare. Spare yourselves the grief and aggravation and avoid this place like the plague.

I am very late for this review but I came to RMA in October of 2022 and worked with Dr. Stein. I appreciated all the tests he did and his honesty when we got our results. He supported our decision to try everything before IVF. Him and his staff were kind, caring, and communicated with us well. To our surprise we were able to get pregnant during treatment before ivf. The staff supported us and made sure we had weekly checkups before graduating from RMA. Now I am almost 30 weeks pregnant with a little girl and due exactly a year since we got our results from Dr. Stein. I am very grateful to have been referred to RMA.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with so many of the other one star reviews. Such a lack of effective communication. When we connected with the finance team they indicated that everything “should be covered” and when we asked for continued confirmation of “what are the codes” “have they confirmed with our insurance provider” etc we were left without response. The team never following up on bloodwork and next steps to begin the IVF process… we emailed multiple times requesting information.Furthermore, my first visit to the office was extremely uncomfortable. I was given a vaginal ultrasound and there were little to no bedside manners. The ultrasound was incredibly uncomfortable and I left feeling like I didn’t consent to be probed in such an uncomfortable way. The doctor belittled my partner and I when we expressed concerns about the lack of period pertaining to PCOS and fertility. We’ve gone on to another fertility doctor where the information has been transparent and diligently communicated. We’ve been well cared for and empowered throughout the process. And sadly, found information pertaining to our treatment that RMA was flat out incorrect about, seemingly just looking to take our money.I just wouldn’t recommend this place.

Horrible.Lack of follow up. Inconsistent communication. It’s hard to speak to anyone as they are always taking a message to pass along. I am not someone who’s needs hand holding throughout the process but only saw my actual doctor one time. And that was during my consultation.Recommended getting my fibroids removed (inner uterine) but didn’t bother to request to remove the putter (which is bigger and increases the chance of miscarriage)During my IUI cycle day of treatment, they didn’t defrost the specimen because there was an issue. Rather than communicate I had to KEEP CALLING.I did 4 rounds of IUI all completed by someone new. 2/4 was extremely painful (it shouldn’t be. Just pressure)GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Stein and the entire team at RMA Westside! I could not recommend this practice highly enough! I came to Dr. Stein for a second opinion after having a not so great experience with a different fertility program. I have PCOS/ do not ovulate and my husband and I found out that we were both carriers for the same autosomal recessive disorders, so after discussing our case with Dr. Stein we proceeded with IVF. The whole process was very organized and well laid out. I received a booklet with the anticipated timeline/ expenses, met with a financial assistant and my IVF coordinator (your coordinator is your go to person throughout the entire process for any questions/ scheduling issues you may have). Everything was explained very clearly ans after a very unclear/ overwhelming experience at a previous practice - I was so thankful for this organization!! Routine monitoring hours (vaginal ultrasounds, bloodwork) were 7:00-9:00am daily which allowed me to go before work and still make it in on time. RNs call with results and instructions that afternoon for next steps/ medication adjustments. Educational videos were provided with explanations on medication administration and the nurses made sure all of the correct medications and supplies were ready at my pharmacy. Our egg retrieval and transfer went very smoothly. We were lucky enough to get pregnant after one round of IVF. After the retrieval and biopsy/ genetic testing, we ended up having 4 healthy embryos! We had our first transfer mid October with Dr. Stein and ten days later we found out that it worked! We are due early July :) Once we are ready for baby number 2 we will most definitely be returning to RMA and scheduling our next transfer with Dr. Stein! He was very professional and personable throughout the entire process and had great bedside manner. We are so thankful to him and all the incredible nurses/ other team members!

The phlebotomists who drew my blood for monitoring are excellent as well. I’m scared of the sight of blood and I get nervous but Yasmin & Jennifer are so kind!It was bittersweet when I graduated from RMA (I am 15 weeks pregnant now). I miss going there! To those who are thinking of going here, please do not hesitate! Update review: I DO NOT RECOMMEND RMA. Dr Stein was a wonderful doctor and this review is not about him. I would never choose RMA again. They charged me a storage fee and never gave me notice that this charge would occur. I didn’t need the storage but I had purchased extra vials for my IUI process b/c I was not given accurate info. Without any assistance about their processes or reminders, I suddenly get a $600 storage fee bill. They don’t send reminders I was told. Ha! But they send reminders to get their money! Such poor practice. On top of that, after being told RMA uses their own lab and therefore cover the cost of whatever insurance does not cover for bloodwork, I get a $400 bill for lab work AFTER having a baby. I am so grateful for my baby boy but if I had to choose again, there are so many other fertility clinics my friends have used that do not scourge you for money. RMA is awful and greedy.

If you have experienced any level of infertility, you know how overwhelming everything can feel. We were referred to Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York by my OBGYN when I was diagnosed with PCOS, and my husbands sperm analysis showed his morphology was less than normal. I chose the westside location as it was close to my office. Our appointment was scheduled with Dr. Stein, and his team made us feel comfortable with the process as soon as we walked in the door. The staff at the front desk welcome and greet you when you sign in- every time you enter. For our first appointment we met with Dr. Stein to discuss our situation: current test results done by my OBGYN, review additional testing that would be done to determine next steps, and anything else we had on our mind - he clearly answered all questions, comments, etc, no matter how crazy my internet based questions were! We then met with our assigned nurse, Eliza, who reviewed our upcoming testing schedule with us. Eliza was amazing, always answering my emails in a timely manner, again no matter how crazy the question, and was always very comforting on the phone.Once all results were back we went back in to meet with Dr. Stein to discuss our options. He clearly went over all options available to us, and provided his recommendation on what he thought would be best. We decided to move forward with IUI per his recommendation as he did not think we needed to start with anything too invasive at first, planning to do three rounds before reassessing our options.IUI requires a few visits to the office each cycle - blood work, follicle monitoring, and the actual IUI procedure itself (you both need to go in that day!). Dr. Stein performed our first IUI procedure, and did so clearly explaining each step, and injecting just the right amount of humor into it all to help us feel more relaxed! While we did not necessarily see Dr. Stein or Eliza at all of those appointments over the three months, we felt very comfortable and in great hands with the doctors and nurses we did see. When we had an unsuccessful third IUI attempt, we were obviously upset and disappointed. I spoke with Eliza, who was the support I needed at the time, as I did not know what to do next as I was so accustomed to going in for day 1 blood work to start my next IUI cycle. As our follow up appointment with Dr. Stein was not for another two weeks, she suggested that my husband and I consider trying just one more time so we did not have to spend two weeks just waiting around. We decided to give it one more go.After the fourth IUI procedure, before it was time to take a pregnancy test, we had our follow up with Dr. Stein to discuss next steps. He went over the entire IVF process. We left that appointment feeling hopeful and excited to get that next process started. We felt that we were in the best hands. I was more relaxed after that meeting than I had been since before we initially met with him to start IUI... perhaps that is what helped lead to a positive pregnancy test with our fourth IUI cycle! I got the call from Eliza confirming that the blood work showed I was pregnant - she was as happy as we were!Tomorrow I will be 20 weeks pregnant with our son. We are so thankful to Dr. Stein, Eliza, and the entire team at RMA of NY Westside for their support throughout this process. I would highly recommend them to anyone encountering fertility issues. We definitely plan on going back when we are ready for baby number 2.

We were referred to Dr. Stein by my OB/GYN after trying to conceive naturally for a year (I am 39). Dr. Stein was always straightforward and swift to make adjustments to my protocols throughout the 3 IVF cycles while observing how my body reacted to the medications. The team at RMA is phenomenal from the IVF coordinator (Tova) to the nurses. Tova is very detailed and puts you at ease as you prepare for the cycle by going through each steps with you. The nurses are extremely efficient especially during very busy monitoring hours (7-8:30am). Because of that, I did not have the stress of being late to work especially during weeks when I had to go in almost every day/other day.The only area for improvement is finance who handles payments and insurance approvals; they’re not thorough and slow to follow up so I had to constantly stay on top of them.Overall, we’re very pleased with our experience at RMA throughout this otherwise stressful journey. I’m 11-week pregnant now and had “graduated” from RMA - kind of miss seeing the team there!

I put off contacting RMA for a couple of months because it was so scary to face the possibility of medical intervention. But I honestly could not have been more wrong in my hesitation. Dr. McAvey and everyone else at RMA have been so kind. From dealing with my “20 questions” at almost every appointment to calling during off hours to confirm that I had the right medication instructions. Staff is mostly techs not actual medical staff, we went through entire process and only saw Dr. Stein at consultation, he failed to show up when we had appointments and the staff said we dont know what time hell show up, you can walk down to the east side office and wait to be seen. Mind you if youre not in their various offices by 6:40am youll wait at least 30-60 minutes to get in for blood work and visit. They heard you in there like cattle and consistently overbook themselves. Who has time for that? Why schedule appointments? Then after we completed the process they lied and told us we had to come back for 3 follow up appointments until we heard heartbeat, once you have a positive pregnancy most women wait a few months before seeing their OBGYN. They were in our network for infertility but not for post pregnancy appointments so they charged us out of network OBGYN costs for the 3 follow up appointments they INSISTED we come too and convinced us were apart of the total process which were unnecessary!! If you have to use them, good luck!!!
