Dr. Alyaa Elassar, MD, NYC IVF

This place is an absolute scam, and I’m really sickened by its treatment of patients.I came in to this single-doctor office for a fertility screening. Dr. Elassar and her staff had me do a single ultrasound and blood test, then really pressured me to start fertility treatment immediately rather than waiting for my employer insurance to kick in next year.I thought it was odd I was getting so much pressure to pay out-of-pocket with only one scan, so went to a different doctor for a second opinion. Turns out, multiple tests are generally required before scare tactics of lower egg count and infertility are thrown out. My new doctors ran a few tests and found I was within the normal range for a young woman, and there was no medical need to start fertility treatment earlier.I think Dr. Elassar and her team are money-hungry, and it shows in their treatment of patients. 6 months after my first and only visit, they sent me a $500 bill for medical procedures that I don’t recall, then automatically charged my credit card. The lack of ethics, informed consent, or disclosure of hidden bills is crazy.

This is truly an all-star team, starting from Dr. Elassar who is not only an expert in her field, but also was fully dedicated to my journey and considered all options to lead to a positive outcome after two failed attempts at two other facilities. The nurses and front desk staff were also excellent and very helpful throughout. What sets Dr Elassar and her team apart from the other larger facilities in New York is the full attention they pay to you as a patient, rather than treating you as just a number.

I’ve been coming to NYCIVF for 5 months now. After going to two other clinics Dr. Elassar was the only Dr who actually looked at my blood work and ultrasounds and knew what needed to be done. She truly takes the time to care. She sees you every appointment which is amazing! This is the first clinic where I don’t feel like a number. The team is also amazing! They really make you feel like family. Alejandra is also very helpful with any billing questions. Thank you to the whole team.

I wish all doctors were like Dr. Elassar! She has been by our side for our pregnancy journey for both our son, and now again for the newest addition to our family. We can’t express how lucky we feel to have found her. She always made us feel genuinely cared for.Her entire staff is also amazing! They are not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also incredibly responsive and professional, and made us feel comfortable every step of our fertility journey.

After a few years at other clinics, we were so happy to finally find Dr. Elassar. She didnt waste any more of our precious time and figured out a treatment plan that gave us results! I really appreciated that she was the one doing most of the monitoring, not a random nurse, which can happen at other clinics. This means she really understood the quirks of my cycle, my response to medications etc. and can make informed decisions around it.Dr. Elassar is knowledgable, firm, and leads her amazing team efficiently. It made a stressful process more comfortable and less emotionally taxing. I never felt the need to do mounds of research at home between appointments, because Dr. Elassar would explain what I needed to know, but not worry me with extra numbers or bloodwork results if there was nothing wrong to note. It was nice to be able to just show up, trust her and her teams expertise and see results. Thank you so much Dr. Elassar for all that you do!!

Really liked this practice. The whole experience of IVF is exhausting but dr Elassar and her staff is fantastic, very personable, does not feel like an egg making factory and you always see the same staff, the doctor and the nurse ever time you visit. They really care. We got pregnant with the first transfer! Highly recommended it

After going through 8 rounds of unsuccessful IUI decided to meet dr. Elassar, since the begging she listen and felt welcomed, like finally someone is taking very seriously how I felt. Dr. Elassar and the team became part of my family for the next two years, supporting me through a miscarriage and doing everything in their hand for me and my husband to have a happy ending. The care, involvement and warmness that I felt while being under the care of NYCIVF are immense. Couldnt thank them enough and if someone wants to have a personalized experience, that feels like you are the only patient, and your journey is important, I recommend dr Elassar 100%.

Caveat! I am a brand new patient so I will be sure to update this review as things progress but I know it can be challenging to know if a doctor is right for you from Google so let me try to tell you why you should start with Dr. Elassar. 1) Within 30 seconds of meeting her it is entirely obvious to anyone with a brain that this woman is extremely smart. 2) Within 1 minute of meeting her it is obvious that she is kind and warm and makes you feel safe to trust her while also retaining great professional and personal boundaries. 3) My partner and I have a bit of unique situation and she didn’t bat an eye about it and was completely versed in everything we were discussing and anything she wasn’t an expert in she let us know right away and had a highly-credentialed reference for someone who would be able to help us and offered to make the intro 4) The office is clean, spacious, and welcoming 5) The front office staff are sweet and helpful 6) Dr. Elassar gives you time but is also efficient. We didn’t wait around before or after our appointment which made me feel like she values her patients’ time, not just her own, which feels rare. 7) She is very reassuring about a topic and area that many of us are new to and feels intimidating and scaryNote: If you’re interested in pricing make sure to let them know that you want to know that stuff up front. It didn’t seem like pricing was going to be discussed with us until perhaps the second appt so if that’s important to you to know right away just speak up and they will go over anything you want to know.Looking forward to learning more about this process with the help of this wonderful doctor and her team.

Amazing Doctor and nurses/staff. Everything is in her office so it’s very convenient. They work with you through anything. She is very straight forward. I currently have my 4 month old after our first try. I also have more embryos frozen for the future. Highly recommend. Best!!! Also, you will not be treated like a number which tends to happen in IVF clinics. She does all ultrasounds herself. You will always see her.

We have been lucky reaching Dr Elassar after a bad experience of 3 failed IUIs with another fertility practice.Elassar is really firm and meticulous, she puts an effort into her job, I got pregnant of 1 Cycle that saved me a lot. me and my husband are really proud of her, and recommend her practice to everyone.

I had a very positive experience with Dr. Alyaa Elassar. At our first meeting, I appreciated that she explained all the various reasons why I might have had a hard time getting pregnant. She answered all my questions in a straightforward way without ever making me feel silly for asking my questions. Her and her team are very detailed and organized and I am really grateful to them for such a positive first experience with a fertility clinic.

Dr. Elassar is the absolute BEST doctor I have had, out of any doctors, in my life. She is not only brilliant at her work, but is caring, attentive and gives patients lots of time. She also has the best staff working for her--they are smart, thorough and a delight to interact with. If I could see Dr. Elassar for each and every medical need I or my family had, I would. I wouldnt recommend anyone else in NYC!

We had literally the best experience with Dr Elassar and her entire staff. She was very confident and scientific which was such a positive for us.She literally guided us through getting pregnant and the first stage of our pregnancy, and didn’t take any chances - the second a number from the lab tests came off a bit off she was all over it. If an outcome was bad she was never mopy, and had a positive encouraging attitude.She also didn’t push any unnecessary invasive treatments and made us feel that we’re in control of the entire process. We were actually sad to stop seeing her after we switched to our OB (which she recommended and was amazing). We really feed that we owe her so much!

It is hard to put into words how incredible Dr Elassar and team are. The support, encouragement and personalized care was incredible. I am still amazed at how invested the team was in our success. We are forever grateful for the beautiful girl we now treasure, and look forward to the next journey with Dr Elassar for baby number two.

Dr. Elassar is truly the most caring doctor I have ever had. Fertility is an emotional, complicated and sometimes scary business and I cant imagine another doctor as well-equipped to handle and help navigate the human side of fertility treatment. She is the best!

I couldnt have asked for a better doctor through our IVF journey. Forever grateful to Dr. Elassar for her expertise and for blessing us with a healthy son. Highly recommend

I went to Dr. Alyaa Elassar with NYC IVF about 1.5 years ago when I was first exploring motherhood (i.e., freezing my eggs). My two visits with her have stuck with me and now knowing what I do, they’ve stuck with me in a bad way. I personally found her bedside manner to be cold. The way she delivered my lab results, which based on her assessment were not promising was not at all sensitive to my situation. She even made me believe that I could be early menopausal at 39. I ended up switching to Weill Cornell Center for Reproductive Medicine and saw Dr. Steven D Spandorfer. Not only was Dr. Spandorfer (and other staff I engaged with) sympathetic to my hopes of getting pregnant (saying I was not in fact early menopausal), they were positive and took the time to talk through my various options. After just two IUI treatments, I am now in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy at the age of 41.

Unfortunately do not recommend. After being in the care of a different physician now and almost five months pregnant I truly believe I would have never gotten pregnant with doctor Elassar and would have had to take more and more hormones absolutely unnecessarily. Four fails and then after switching success on a first try.

She’s very nice doctor. Amazing everything is good. And she has help me a lot. She is the best and I would highly recommend her for everybody. Because for me I think she is the best doctor in the world.
