Ecstatic about the fact that for the first time ever we had to miss the birth of our grandchild. Unless your the 2 people in the delivery room, you can not enter the hospital or wait to see your grandchild, you can’t not be there period unless it’s between the hours of 4 - 6pm. It doesn’t matter if you drove across the country - can’t even go in and wait. Who does this? A 2 hour window- that’s it ? We are no longer in the middle of a pandemic … this is Absurd. Had we known this in advance she would have never chosen this hospital. If you are an expecting mother and have a loving and caring support system, find a different hospital.

I was traveling home to Oklahoma from vacation in Kentucky when I ended up with a kidney stone being 28 weeks pregnant. I was in terrible terrible pain but the staff at the Women’s Health ER and Hospital took such good care of me. From the ER, nurse Ali and Dr. Trippel made sure to address my questions, help my pain in any way they could, and make sure I was as comfortable as I could be. The radiology tech (I cannot remember her name) who did my renal ultrasound and then the ultrasound of my baby was also so wonderful. Then I got admitted and Dr. Kirkwood took great care of me. ALL of the nurses I had were AWESOME (I’m sorry, I wish I remembered all of their names). I would not have made it through the ups and downs of figuring out what we were going to do without nurse Sara. I had her a couple times over my stay and she went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and advocated for me. She is one of a kind. I also cannot thank Dr. Kuper, Dr. Fitzpatrick, and Marcella Scott for fighting for my case over and over again. We had quite a few road blocks with my condition and they never stopped fighting to make sure that me and my baby were taken care of. They listened to my family’s concerns, they had excellent bedside manner, and they went above & beyond their job description. It speaks volumes that a hospital was willing to turn my case over to a competitor hospital for surgical intervention with it being in my best interest. I am forever grateful for the care given by the Deaconess Women’s Hospital.

We checked in for a scheduled c-section. Everyone has been exceptionally nice. The nurses have been excellent from the OR to the Labor and Delivery floor. Nurses Jordin, Emily, Shelby, Grace and the MVP Charlene were caring, accommodating and spent quality time with us. The housekeeper Sheila was so sweet and courteous. The Lab tech had a great sense of humor and the employee woman in the coffee shop in the ER lobby was super friendly as well. I would love to give 5 stars, however, most food Delivery workers were sweet and nice (Kelly, Amanda, etc.) but Beth, in the cafeteria was not friendly, and either doesnt like her job or doesnt care.Every single meal we ordered was either wrong, missing something or overcooked. We ordered tomato soup and got beef, ordered a banana and yes, she told us it was a little green and not ripe yet but it came bright green and hard. We ordered sweet tea and it came unsweetened, chicken tenders were more like nuggets and overcooked, baked potato came with no butter after ordering extra, mozzarella sticks were mixed in with the stir fry, a second time a hair was fried into the mozzarella and when we ordered a fried egg, it came scrambled, and the turkey sandwich had no cheese as ordered. We are not picky eaters and understand sometimes things happen but this was literally every time and Beth was not friendly over the phone and we felt like an inconvenience.I recommend ordering a sandwich or grilled cheese from the coffee shop or have something delivered.

Was a decent hospital with a knowledgeable doctor. However I was using the restroom when the staff came to get my mother and myself back to see my wife before surgery they would not wait for her to even knock on the door to let me know; so I came out and didnt know what was going on till another patron told me. Then I had to go searching for someone to take me back, because the receptionist wandered off. I would appreciate in the future if they would check the bathrooms if the support person/s werent in the lobby and be a little more patient. 💯

I had a baby here 3 years ago and I am now in my second pregnancy. There is no reason I should have to wait almost an hour after my appointment was supposed to start to actually get in especially when they make me get there 15 minutes before it is scheduled. After you actually get into the room for your appointment you usually have to wait another 30+ minutes just to see the doctor. It has been like this nearly every visit I go to. The nurses and doctors are really nice for the most part but it feels like your being pushed out the door, and they don’t really care what problems you’re having. They’re very clearly over booking.

My nurse (Rikki) was amazing. The doctor, nurse, and ultrasound tech helped put my mind at ease tremendously and I was in and out with blood work, fluids, a ultrasound and nausea medicine within two hours. Im so thankful for this place.

My wife and I were expecting our first child. She was adamant that we go through the Women’s hospital. Not being from around here I didn’t know why. I saw firsthand during the birth of our daughter why The Women’s Hospital is the best of the best. Our nurses were Kaycee and Audra. I’ve never seen anyone in healthcare with their can do attitude and proactive approach. When we asked for something it was always brought within minutes of asking. I also appreciated how they cared for my wife and I. They also took the time to teach us simple parenting duties like swaddling, bathing, etc.I also want to give a high five to Leanne from lactation. Being first time parents we were unfamiliar with the techniques for breastfeeding. She helped us make sure it was right and showed us how the breast pump worked. The Women’s Hospital genuinely cares for their patients. Thank you for being a model hospital in the health care community!

The whole time I was here for my baby’s delivery every single nurse, lactation consultant, OR tech, and my anesthesiologist were absolutely amazing. They were extremely aware of me and baby at all times. My doctor and team of nurses all knew I wanted a vaginal delivery and they did all they could to make it happen, even though it didn’t I know without a doubt they made the best decision for the sake of my baby. I can’t say enough great things about Doctor Gregory Mann. If you are looking for a new OB he loves his job and you can tell in his work. He listens to you but also doesn’t sugar coat an issue.I had such a great experience here.

Cannot say more positive things about our experience here. From day 1 our OB/GYN Dr. Kirkwood provided excellent care, making us feel both comfortable & well informed.During our delivery, we ran into complications & needed an emergency C-Section.Due to the hour/schedule, Dr. Scordalakes stepped in & performed the operation. His demeanor, competence, & overall confidence in the situation put us completely at ease.Operation went seamless & his bedside manner was impeccable to say the least. The entire staff from the nurses, lactation, nursery, & all were more than friendly & went above and beyond.Dr. Justak, our pediatrician, might be our new favorite person—incredibly competent & friendly (hilarious), making us feel confident in caring for our new baby son.Overall, could not recommend this hospital more.

Refused to even set up a consult for tubal ligation because of my age, even with my husbands consent. Do better. People should have access to any form of birth control, regardless of how many kids theyve had or how old they are.

I see Dr. Cave and she is a wonderful OBGYN. Ive had two C sections with her and Ive had a positive outcome of the surgeries every time. In addition, all the staff were very good to me, my husband and my babies while we were patients there. I was checked on very frequently and my medications were always given to me on time or within a reasonable amount of time when asked on demand. I recommend this place!

Update September 30th 2023Cassie a nurse on day shift felt it was appropriate to get in my face to tell me the hospital procedure for labor and delivery. The staff was entirely rude . The check in lady scowled the entire time , every interaction at this hospital is racially charged. Its the closest to my home and the other option is st. Vincent. Both are horrible dealing with people of color. The emergency department isnt for people of color. I have been in pain for months. They just sent me home after every visit because i wasnt septic or bleeding. Finally after my primary doctor refused to operate an 3 months of emergency room visits i bleed profusely so they operate. They dont take our healthcare seriously.

My wife and I just welcomed our first child into our family this past weekend and I couldn’t of been more pleased with the level of professionalism, knowledge, and service from all the staff at The Women’s Hospital. From Dr. Walker & Dr. Mann to all of our nurses (Amy, Sandy, Saydee, Naiome, Sara, Polly, & Missy) and all support staff we were treated with the best service. Most importantly above all else these nurses know their stuff. Very pleased. Thank you all for bringing in our little girl into this world.

I stayed with my mom during her stay here after surgery. The staff was very nice to her, but one of the ladies from the lab was very rude and had a attitude that she was unable to get blood from mom. The Cafe was Horrible. The food looked nasty and the staff was rude. I had pushed the call button for service and no one came out from the back. If you have to stay make sure you have money to go out and eat or order for delivery. CAFE SUCKS.

I went by ambulance from Jasper to the womens labor and delivery. I cannot express the gratitude I give the staff in the labor and delivery department and also respitory therapist (Stephanie). The nurse who came along with the ambulance was Taylor. Taylor was my nurse for the next to nights. This girl went above and beyond to make me as comfortable as possible and she gave me assurance that everything would be okay. My third day there I gave birth to my beautiful little miracle Coby. I was given a new nurse Amelia, she too was amazing and was there through my whole process. Amelia cared just as much as I did through my labor, that needed immediate c-section. That evening I got a visit from Taylor, it melted my heart. I dont know if Ill ever see these two nurses again.. However, I would trust them with my life! They are amazing and they made the correct career path in life! They are right where they need to be! I was hospitalized one week and could not be happier with the care me, my son, and my husband received! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!!!! Priscilla, Toby, and Coby

Dr. Kirkwood, OBGYN was amazing with my little one while in the care of the NICU staff. She would go in and look at him to see how he was doing, instead of just reading his charts. On the flip side, Dr. Pyle, Neonatologist, was just as amazing. He allowed for my baby to go at his own pace (within reason) and continued to provide the best care for him.

As a breast cancer survivor since 2007, I had my mammogram today - hoping and praying for the best of results! I had part of my prayers answered when my name was called by JANICE - the tech who performed my exam! JANICE was THOROUGH, POLITE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, GENTLE, and VERY CARING! She treats her patients as if they were her family! JANICE is an asset to your hospital! I could not have asked for a more sincere and personable professional! THANK YOU, JANICE, for helping me! =)

From my understanding of an upstanding place of healthcare is where patients feel safe, not judged, and appreciated. A good, and even a great place of healthcare takes into consideration not only the physical health of patients but the mental health as well. An even better place of healthcare will find the correlation between mental and physical health and how one affects the other.Unfortunately the Deaconess Womens Hospital failed at all aspects of remotely being even a decent place of healthcare. I will say that if you are a person who is proud of your journey, especially in the areas of weight loss and mental health I would not recommend the Deaconess Womens Hospital, especially in the care of Dr. Ellen Harpole. If you are looking to feel the worst you have felt mentally about your health in years, Deaconess Womens Hospital will deliver.
