Dr. Soyini M. Hawkins

This review is long overdue, but Dr. Hawkins is a godsend! If you have endometriosis or fibroids, you’ve probably experienced the frustration of having your symptoms dismissed and minimized, but working with Dr. Hawkins is a breath of fresh air. She listens attentively and is incredibly helpful in outlining different treatments and helping you choose the best option for your specific situation. I suspected that I had endometriosis, but Dr. Hawkins was the first doctor to see that I also had signs of adenomyosis. Sure enough, I had both. Thanks to her diagnostic skill, I was able to choose the best surgical option for my condition, and it absolutely changed my life. It was my first surgery and a major one at that, but Dr. Hawkins and her staff were detailed, patient, and supportive through every step of the process. It’s been five years now since my surgery, and I’m happy to say the debilitating pain I was living with is a thing of the past. So many women are struggling with pelvic pain and related issues, and it makes my heart happy to know Dr. Hawkins is out there doing such amazing work. I recommend her to everyone I can!

Let me start by saying Dr Soyini Hawkins is heaven sent! She has been thru what we have so she treat you like a “human”. She cares for all her patients and she not in it for the money you can tell she has a passion for helping woman. I’m young 34 yrs old and everyone kept saying take out my uterus. I came to her and she said the complete opposite. I had a very large fibroid and a cyst on my ovaries. Dr Hawkins performed an open myomectomy and removed them effortlessly. Her bedside manner is the best i ever had in my life! I will forever pray for her and her practice she changed my life! My surgery was performed at Northside and that staff took great care of me as well! Please dont hesitate on choosing her! This is my honest and from the heart review my only regret is not finding her sooner! ♥️

I can honestly say when I met Dr. Hawkins on 1/31/24, she treated me like I was human and not just a body in her office. Im big on energy and her energy was so calming. She was honest, but it the delivery of her message for me. Her staff was very nice and welcoming. If I had to pick someone to do my surgery, she will definitely be that person. She was also very confident in how she can help me.

Dr Hawkins is my ONLY option if I ever need another surgery. She performed laparoscopy for endometriosis on me. I’m sure there are plenty of qualified doctors but I have never ever met a doctor that is so “human”. I had another doctor tell me that my ovary was going to need to be removed due to a cyst. Dr. Hawkins assured me that she would do everything in her power to preserve my ovary. That is exactly what she did. She successfully removed the cyst without any damage to my ovary. My mother also was told by another doctor that she was going to need a hysterectomy and Dr Hawkins was the one to really sit down with her and say that was not going to be necessary. If you receive bad news from your doctor, I advise you to get a second opinion from her because she actually cares about people and is not just in it for the money.As for the surgery itself, I can tell she really took her time. My incisions were so neat and healed quickly. I feel great.

Dr. Hawkins and her staff are the best. Dr. Hawkins is very amazing. She explained everything to me from point A to B, and my surgery went great! She made me feel good through the whole process. Thats the kind of doctor you need that is understandable, and that actually listens to you. I just can not thank her and her team enough for their support to get me through this.

Dr Hawkins is the most patient, knowledgeable, experienced and down to earth physician/surgeon I’ve ever encountered. I had 2 consultations before I met with her. Both of the other docs told me they would have to cut me open to remove my uterus and my fibroids despite the fact that they weren’t very large in size. Dr. Hawkins did the entire procedure laparoscopically though my vaginal canal leaving not one scar. I was back at work in a week. Between her, her staff and Northside Hospital, I have no regrets top notch service from start to finish! You may have to wait 2-3 months to get an appointment. Wait for the best! You will thank me later!

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Hawkins and her staff. She is so patient, kind and genuine. Her bedside manners are second to none. She answered all of my questions. I previously had a bad experience with a surgeon and Dr. Hawkins showed empathy with that. My previous experience with another doctor left me in extreme pain with my requests for help being ignored. Dr. Hawkins took that into consideration and came up with a plan to avoid that happening again. My procedure went well. My scar is a thin line below my bikini line. It’s still healing but so far it looks good. I no longer have a bulging belly and if I decide to have more children, my uterus can now better support a pregnancy.It’s no surprise Dr. Hawkins’ staff is just as wonderful. They’re all kind and caring. They seem to never forget how challenging and emotional dealing with fibroids is. I am grateful for their warm smiles and support. My entire experience with Dr Hawkins and her team was impressive. I felt valued and my concerns were validated. My husband I were both very happy with the care we received. The team is warm and relatable.It was hard to part ways after my 6 week check. Hands down the best gynecological surgeon experience ever. I have a very large fibroid which has been causing me issues. Dr. Hawkins explained both options(open or robotic myomectomy) THOROUGHLY. Having had a bad past surgical experience, I ask a lot of questions to fully understand what to expect. She didnt make me feel rushed and answered every question in detail. Ill be having my surgery in the next few months and will give a post-surgery review update. So far, shes amazing.P.S. The staff is awesome too!

I have had two surgeries with Dr. Hawkins. She has great bedside manner, answered all of my preoperative questions, performed both surgeries beautifully, and gave my husband the most thorough postoperative report ever. She even recommended he record her, so that I could listen later.I recommended a friend to Dr. Hawkins, my friend had a wonderful experience as well. She said the surgery was life changing for her.

The day of the surgery, she came in and reassured my family and myself that she would take great care of me..and she held on to her word. Dr. Hawkins is an absolute gem of a doctor. I have been diagnosed with endometriosis for 3 years and have lived in 3 different cities. Thus, I have experienced MANY doctors. Dr. Hawkins was the first doctor that truly listened to me and provided me with a very clear and easy to understand action plan. Dr. Hawkins went above and beyond and spent over an hour with me discussing my concerns. She was even able to give me an ultrasound for quick in-office results. I felt at ease during the entire appointment. Dr. Hawkins is extremely busy but still finds time to squeeze me in for a follow-up. The entire office staff is incredibly kind. I am extremely grateful for her care. Doctors like her are incredibly rare and a blessing to their patients.

Dr. Hawkins is the best Gynecological Surgeon I’ve encountered. Her office is modern and contemporary with advanced technology. She’s knowledgeable and skilled and her medical expertise is valuable.I recently completed surgery with Dr. Hawkins and her team and she made it most comforting. She prepared me for the surgery by thoroughly informing me of the entirety of the process and the seriousness of the procedure. She and her team provided electronic literature on preliminary and post operative care and they made themselves available at any time. Dr. Hawkins is by far the best doctor I have ever been treated by. After over three years with other doctors trying to diagnose my issues, I made an appointment with Dr. Hawkins. She asked questions and took the time to listen to me and my symptoms. With one round of tests she was confidently able to pinpoint my issue. Something completely unrelated to what I had been treated for the past three years.I elected to have the surgery that Dr. Hawkins recommended, and I can say that my symptoms have been resolved. The surgery prep, the procedure itself, and the recovery expectations were well documented and communicated ahead of time. Dr. Hawkins personally made sure I was comfortable at every step of the procedure, and even provided some medical images of the procedure to share with my husband post surgery.I plan to switch to Dr. Hawkins as my long term gynecologist following this very positive experience.

Dr. Hawkins is a complete blessing from the most high. Being patient of Dr. Hawkins has been the most pleasant medical experience of my life. At our first meeting she took me to her office and discussed my issues thoroughly. After that she performed an exam and then went over a list of 12 possible options for treating my issue. She explained each option with its pros and cons, and let me know which options would be best for me. Her office is clean and modern and the staff is friendly. Dr. Hawkins answered all of my questions and listened to my concerns, even after the appointment (she provided an email address for reaching her). The surgery was done at Northside Atlanta and the staff there was above and beyond. The morning after my surgery Dr. Hawkins came into my recovery room and let me know that the surgery went well but was difficult, and that it was totally worth it to see my happy face afterwards. While I was at Northside, many of the staff told me how much they like Dr. Hawkins. I am so glad that Dr. Hawkins came into my life. She is truly special. If you have any issues with fibroids, endometriosis, or the similar, I highly recommend Dr. Hawkins! (All of the other positive reviews on this page are spot on also.)

Dr. Hawkins performed my surgery in 2017, I was over 45 yrs of age. She was professional and straight forward which I like. She is very busy but returned all my phone calls in a timely manner. My Mother and Father told me after surgery you have a very good surgeon, they were pleased with the way she explained everything to them. I highly recommend Dr. Hawkins 4 years later.

I was living in AZ when my large fibroid tumors were diagnosed. Because I knew I was moving soon after the diagnosis I waited until I got to GA to seek treatment. I’m so grateful my surgery was done by Dr. Hawkins. She answered all my questions and put me at ease. Her staff is great as well. All my questions were answered. I never felt rushed. After my surgery, (hysterectomy, I was able to keep my ovaries). I am feeling better than I have felt in years. No more physical pain and no more depression. I have no regrets. I had 2 surgeries at one time at Northside Atlanta Hospital on June 16, 2016. I did so well after surgery, it was exciting. The nurses in the Extended Care treated me like royalty, I wanted for nothing, was never in pain because they stayed on top of it. As for Dr. Soyini Hawkins, she is one of the best surgeons that I have ever had operate on me. I wish she would have been around when I had my hysterectomy 20 years ago. She is fantastic and I cant say enough about her. Her bedside manner is impeccable. She is very caring and she and her staff make sure you understand exactly what to expect and how to prep before and after surgery. Also, Dr. Hawkins is very efficient in returning any email and answering any question or concern that you may have. She is such a professional, I recommend her highly.

Im so happy that I referred to Dr. Hawkins. I was in severe pain from a chronic gynecological issue and was extremely frustrated with the lack of improvement. She is very kind, she spent an hour with me; the appointment did not feel rushed at all. She gave me multiple options and explained the treatment options in great detail. She is an excellent doctor with a great bedside manner.

Received a call from a collections agency for my $25.00 copay that they NEVER billed me for. Dr Hawkins was nice but had a difficult time getting any information from her staff. Ended up cancelling surgery because I didnt feel comfortable and very glad that I did.

Dr. Hawkins and Dr. Davis are heaven sent. I was really scared and nervous about my surgery but they made me feel like family. They are really personable. They made me feel like I was their only patient. It didnt matter if I emailed them at 11am or 11pm before I could finish sending the email I was getting a phone call or an email back. Love..Love…Love!! Dr. Ashley Davis & Dr. Soyini Hawkins are ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!! I went to them back in November 2021 (the waiting list to get a new patient appointment is bananas) after being turned down by several other doctors, who all said my case was complicated or maybe they lacked the knowledge/experience to handle my issues. I definitely did my research before my appointment. I was soooo desperate and was tired of the never ending pain that comes with endometriosis and other things. My initial consulting was with Dr.Davis and she really studied my medical records and assured me that I was in the RIGHT PLACE!! Due to the complexities in my case, both Dr. Davis & Dr. Hawkins would be treating me via surgery. Everything was thoroughly explained to me, the good & bad possibilities. I am 6 weeks out of surgery today and I am still mending but this staff is the BEST at what they do!! The support staff is just as amazing; Mercedes, Trameka, Jessica thank you ALL SO MUCH ! I suffered with fibroids for years until the pain became unbearable and my life was constantly disrupted by planning around my cycle and having to take pain medication constantly just to function. I was referred to Dr. Hawkins and after imaging, and consults with two more specialists based on the findings to ensure there were no additional complications, I was scheduled for surgery. My procedure was less than two weeks ago but I already feel such a huge difference in my body. Turns out I had 5 fibroids, 3 were fairly large, multiple cysts on both ovaries, the worst stage of endometriosis and scar tissue. Dr. Hawkins got it all out and cleaned up the endometriosis which I didnt know was possible. Even though this was a major procedure it was a wonderful experience. I was well taken care of by Dr. Hawkins, her team, and Northside Hospital. I continue on my healing journey but if you are suffering with any of what I mentioned above and are hesitant to proceed dont delay. Dr. Hawkins is simply the best. She walks you through the whole process and lets you know what to expect. This is her field of expertise. I yearned for relief and a sense of normalcy without crippling pain. After reading many reviews for doctors in the Roswell/Alpharetta area, I found reviews for Dr. Hawkins. I decided she was the kind of doctor I was wanted to trust for my gynecology evaluation. She was everything that others said about her and I could not have been more impressed by her knowledge, ability to make a patient feel comfortable, discuss options, answer all questions, and just be a good person. I will entrusted her to do my surgery and did so with complete confidence. I told my internist about Dr. Hawkins and she will refer patients to her in the future.

Ive had Fibroid tumors for years. Ive had them for so long that I developed severe chronic pain my back. Periods were beyond heavy, caused me to be anemic, even diabetes. I met with Dr Hawkins and her staff, referred by my Gynecologist. Dr Hawkins was so thorough with me. she knew exactly what was needed. I had iron transfusions prior to the surgery so it can be done. My original surgery date was October 18th, but she knew the severity and had my surgery scheduled for September 26. Instead of a simple surgery that shouldve taken 1 1/2 hours, my surgery took FIVE hours. She had to open me up, removing what was thought to be a small tumor was an EIGHT pound tumor, that was sticking to my stomach and intestines. My husband was concerned because there was no one to keep him informed. To GOD BE THE GLORY! The Lord used Dr Hawkins to save my life. It was a tough time, but I am good now. She even followed MONTHS after the surgery. Yes, she cares THAT much for her patients. its like we are family. God bless Dr Hawkins, her nurse Jessica and her entire staff. ******LONG OVERDUE REVIEW******I am so blessed to have had Dr. Hawkins as my surgeon for many reasons! Not only was she an efficient & competent surgeon, but her bedside manner is impeccable! I couldnt have possibly had a more proficient surgeon had I dreamed one up! Lol.Im one of those people who really research anyone who is going to be my medical professional. Simply because you only have one life, & you want the best to work with & on you. Plus, i have to be extra thorough in screening doctors because I am a transgender male. It can be very difficult to find good medical care. Someone who isnt going to treat you like an experiment or a mental case. So, you can imagine my excitement when i discovered Dr. Hawkins!My first initial visit with Dr. Hawkins was great. She took me to her office, got to know me, & asked me many questions about what i had been going through. She presented me with options I had not thought of, & gave me some new information that I had not considered. She checked me out, & I was on my way. Days later my body went haywire!!!! It was a nightmare! I was pouring blood, & having huge blood clots. Which had happened once before. I had to change pads & tampons every 30 mins to an hour. I was experiencing difficulty even getting through the day. So, i kept in contact with her medical assistant Jessica. Jessica & Dr. Hawkins make a superb team! Jessica went above & beyond her call of duty. Any time I called her, she was so calm & reassuring! She helped me any way she could! One of the difficult parts about this whole process was that my uterus had literally grown as if i was carrying a baby. It was about 9 inches long. It was up in my abdomen. I had to go to the hospital at least 3 times, & one of those times was an overnight stay that I had to receive a blood transfusion. My leg & foot had almost doubled in size. I went to my podiatrist, & she referred me to a vascular doctor. He discovered I had multiple blood clots in both legs. My uterus was literally tearing my body apart. A year earlier I had been seeing a urologist. My uterus was causing the problem with my bladder. Dr. Hawkins had discovered that my uterus was so large that it was not only crushing my bladder, but sitting on a large vein or vessel (cant remember which) in which was causing the blood clots because the blood couldnt flow properly to my legs. Consequently, I had to have an IVC filter put in to even have the surgery. I had already had one pulmonary embolism due to the blood clots. Dr. Hawkins even admitted to me that this may be a little bit more difficult then she expected. She never gave up though. She consulted with an oncologist that specialized in difficult situations like this. She did her homework.Once I was able to finally have my surgery I was overjoyed!!!! Finally all my agony was about to be over! The day of the surgery Dr. Hawkins reassured me that everything would be fine. My surgery went spectacular. No problems during or after. Once I was okay, she even came to see me on her own personal time. I felt very taken care of by her & her team. Healing went extremely well. My incision is barely visible. My girlfriend, a nurse, even said it looked like artwork. Clean, thin, & beautiful. If youre looking for a surgeon that is intelligent, knowledgeable, & personable do yourself a favor & go to Dr. Hawkins! Best decision of my life!

Dr. Hawkins in heaven sent! I drove almost 2 hours for this visit. After having 3 surgeries by previous doctors she thoroughly informed me of the next steps and her diagnosis was 100% aligned with my symptoms. Not only are her bedside manners over and beyond but shes compassionate. From scheduling to seeing Dr Hawkins was a totally amazing. She knows her stuff and a womans body!! Unfortunately I found out shes not in my network and now it seems Im back to square one.

Amazing omg the best the best never had a doctor like this before so down to earth just amazing spirit was amazing. Baltimore- 2014: This woman changed my life! I had horrible periods that were getting worse and longer. I was being ignored by my gynecologist and being told I was exaggerating. I asked her for an IUD and she told me she only put them in women who have had children. I stopped going to her and found Dr. Hawkins. Dr. Hawkins sat with me, listened to me, took notes, analyzed, and broke down what the causes could be and a plan of action. After a hysteroscopy, she diagnosed me! There was a chance I could lose my ovary because my other doctor had ignored my complaints for so long, but it was able to be saved because of her! I now have two happy, healthy toddlers. I have had such a better quality of life because SHE listened and took me seriously. She is the epitome of the Oath and I was so sad when she moved to Georgia. Before she eft she made sure I had a doctor for continual treatment to a condition not many doctors know how to treat. I have a great doctor now, but she has made a forever impression on my life and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Dr.Hawkins was a GOD send for me. I had been suffering for over 5 years with irregular and painful cycles. Finally I was referred to Dr.Hawkins.... from my first appointment she checked me from head to toe.... never had I experience a doctor who took the time to listen to me and made things so understandable for me. Fast forward I was diagnose with fibroids and endometriosis... She walked me through the process of the surgery I would need.. and gave me other options .... Finally I went through with the fibroid removal. The next day after my procedure I felt like a different woman. Now I’m back to my old self... energy.. no more fatigue... no more pain. Dr. Hawkins and Dr. David are amazing doctors. I could go on about this allstar team but to make a long story short, My surgery went well and I felt like I had a team that really cared about my health. They gave me my life back after years of incredible pain. Im grateful to the doctors and amazing staff.

BEWARE: THERE ARE MANY MEDICAL SITES THAT CANT LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW OR READ THE REASON OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEW.I had a hysterectomy and a rectocele. I was told 2 to 3 weeks recovery possible 6 weeks to be able go back to work. Its now more than 5 months.I havent felt right since the operation. After four days out of surgery, her office wouldnt recieve me when I couldnt have a BM. It was 5 days without a BM. I followed doctors instructions, I called her that Sunday letting her know the difficulties. Monday, I was in sever pain. I was told to go to the ER. I followed the doctors orders. The office could of made that experience more dignify than sending me to the ER.I called, asking what should I be expecting after 3 weeks. If anyone wants to accuss me of over doing, would be laying down too much. Six weeks go by, Im at her office; Im told recovery can take 3 months, that my body needs more time. A little more than two months goes by, Im not feeling much better. I felt weak, joints hurting, could not have an easy BM, being accused not drinking enough water, sever swelling, told to continue taking ibphrone and Miralax.I called my OBGYN who recommended me to Dr Hawkins. I wasnt able to make an appointment beause the first three months after surgery, the surgeon is responsible for any complicationsI went back to Dr. Hawkins office. She tells me she did all she can do. Not once did she investigate why I was having complications. Dr. Hawkins recommend to see my OBGYN or my Primary care physician. She also suggested GI doctor, saying since I had problems with BM before the surgery that wasnt her expertise. I dont understand why it was necessary to have had the rectocele. The purpose of that surgery is to have an easier BM. I didnt needed Miralax for a BM before the surgery, now I have to depend on taking a laxative.Earlier today, I spoke with her nurse Jessica. She chuckled when I told her; I have an ulcer. Im stressed out because I havent been able to work. Dr. Hawkins is not equip to deal with complications. If she is she choose to pass responsibility on to me, finding a doctor that will investigate.

I really wanted to like this black female physician but the lack of follow up, empathy and full disclosure. Before you agree to a $60k Acessa procedure please do your research by getting a MRI and a consultation with a physician that performs UTE. Read and explore your options!!! I’ve had the Acessa procedure and I’m still suffering with pelvic pain and the only option now I was told to take birth control. Do not allow one person to make a life changing decision about your health.

Dr Davis and Dr Hawkins are the best! They truly care about their patients. The office staffs are super friendly. Id recommend this office!

Aggravated, short temper. A demeanor as if she does not want to be bothered. And if there is a question after surgery or pain she will bring you in not right away, but 2 months later. Not listening to concerns. Severe attitude, makes you feel like your question is dumb. Judgemental. Severe God complex. This was my experience.

Dr Hawkins is a very compassionte doctor she makes you feel comfortable and just her presence will make you feel great I would recommend everyone to go see her especially us Ladies!!she dis an excellent job on my surgery last year I had no pain or complications what so ever!!!Thanks Dr Soyini Hawkins!!!
