I had my first acupuncture treatment with Dejota Apostoli today (Mon 1/15/24). The place (Healing Arts) is very clean and comfortable, all of the staff Ive encountered were friendly and professional, and Dejota especially was welcoming of me as a new patient. I hope I get good outcomes. Time will tell but I am optimistic.

So far I have seen 4 therapists and the chiropractor here for hip/neck and overall stress and everyone is wonderful. The space is very clean and quiet and soothing. It is easy to book online and the front desk is there if you need assistance. I recommend this place 100% and like that you can try different practitioners.

For many years I’ve been a devotee of therapeutic relief including accupuncture. So I know firsthand the dedication, skill and experience required of a great acupuncturist like Julie Schwartz. She’s pleasant, thorough, and effective. The Old City HAC facility is clean and updated, situated in a grand older building with vaulted ceilings.

I was referred to Healing Arts by another practitioner of acupuncture. I attended acupuncture for fertility and then to support the pregnancy foor one year with Julie Schwartz.I have thoroughly enjoyed my time there and looked forward to going. I wholly believe that the therapy worked well. Julie is knowledgeable and her practice is gentle (physically) yet still aggressive (the treatment). Julie has a warm fun spirit and she is supportive. I enjoyed our conversations. As I began to have more sessions towards the end of the pregnancy, I saw two others practitioners who were great as well. I recommend the practice for acupuncture highly.

Jamie is amazing. I have only gone twice, but I am sleeping better than ever and am experiencing fewer sharper neck pains.

I had a great first time ever acupuncture session. I threw out my back and was walking like a robot going in, but was 95% human walking out. Jamie Scott was very communicative during the whole process and I couldnt have asked for a better first visit.

Be *very* careful if you are using insurance. I was given wrong information by Healing Arts staff multiple times and they took no responsibility for their mistakes. Specifically, I was assured multiple times that my insurance would be billed, and I did not find out there was a problem with my insurance until 7+ sessions later, when I noticed that Healing Arts had not actually billed my insurance as they had said they would. They never informed me of this themselves; I had to proactively reach out to Healing Arts to find out there was any problem. In addition to that major issue, there were several other issues with miscommunication and lack of communication regarding both my insurance and my treatment. To add insult to injury, the office manager was a nightmare to deal with, subjecting me to the most kafkaesque phone conversation of my life, where she interrupted me, raised her voice, and would not respond to my most basic questions about why I wasn’t timely notified there was an insurance issue. Steve (the owner and my former acupuncturist), would not even discuss my concerns with me, even though he apparently has time to respond to negative Yelp reviews… As far as the actual acupuncture, I liked Julie and Jamie, but I did not find Steve to be particularly attentive or thorough. All in all, whatever good the acupuncture did was negated by the stress of dealing with the billing mistakes and the dehumanizing and condescending way I was treated by the office manager. I stopped coming, and I would not recommend others to patronize this business.UPDATE in response to the owners response:The owner wrote this response without ever speaking to me about my concerns, despite my requesting to speak with him multiple times. I highly value my integrity. Of course I never requested Healing Arts to commit insurance fraud, and it is clear from my review that my concern was the carelessness and miscommunication of the Healing Arts staff, essentially misleading me for weeks and treating me under false pretenses, and then refusing to take responsibility. The implication of the owners response--that I requested Healing Arts to commit insurance fraud or that the only way to resolve my concerns would have been for Healing Arts to commit insurance fraud--is simply false. His response is a great example of the kind of insulting and kafkaesque treatment you can expect from Healing Arts if they make any mistakes: they will refuse to take responsibility and the owner will falsely accuse you of wrongdoing without even taking the time to discuss your concerns with you.

I had an AMAZING experience here! Dr Friedman (Physiatrist) relieved my back/neck/shoulder pain and gave me exercises to do at home. I feel 100% better today. The staff was so friendly and accomodating. THIS is how HEALTHCARE should be practiced!!!! Take it from me, I am a RN and we are the BIGGEST critics of healthcare. I have been to others in the practice as well and these people are light years ahead of our times.***Please check them out and go here first before seeing a surgeon if you have musculoskeletal pain or any of the conditions that they treat. I give them my personal recommendation which does not come lightly. With Highest Regards,Beth Villante RN, BSN, CHPN, LMT
