AFC Urgent Care South Philly

I was able to take my nephew and son for a walk in visit. This urgent care was family friendly and my son is 5 years old and on the spectrum. Friendly staff and doctors and very patience with children. Definitely recommend if you need urgent care for your teenagers and children!

The front desk was very polite and welcoming. We then moved on quickly to triage and the assistant was polite also. We then waited in the exam room for under 5 minutes to see the doctor who was thorough in my sons treatment and he also took the time to answer our questions and concerns.

I dont think Ive ever had a more efficient doctors or urgent care visit! I went in on a Wednesday around 7, and I was in and out so fast. The front desk and medical staff were all so warm and kind. They explained my treatment to me and answered my questions. Plus, theres free parking! I will always go back here for urgent care needs.

I should have never given this place a second shot. first time i was seen, it seemed like my doctor was hungover or still drunk or perhaps high. very unprofessional and casual. seemed like he was guessing about how to treat me.went back again today, as this place is close to where i live. was told “there would be a wait, the doctor was stuck in traffic”. me and other patients waiting to be seen asked how long the wait would be. the front desk staff was flippant and said she “didn’t know how long the wait would be” yet continued to collect co pays. i waited for a few minutes then came to my senses, got my refund, and left. these people are useless. my mistake for trying a second time after a bad first experience.

I had the most pleasant experience at the Urgent Care Clinic. The wait time was less than 16 minutes and the doctor and staff were very pleasant and offered 2 solutions to my problem. I would definitely go back should I have an emergency.

My daughter was the patient, and absolutely loved her experience. She asked if we could make it her primary. Nurse Sophie was an Angel and my babys day. I recommend this location and I will be using it more often because my kids doctor is in a different county.

Very clean, staff were very professional and helpful. The doctor was very pleasant and very detailed and helpful about my situation . The waiting time was no longer than 10-16 mins I was in and out. Would definitely recommend this place . Best experience I had . Thank you 😊

It was my first time to go to AFC for my physical and the services met my expectations. The wait time was satisfactory. The staff is always pleasant respectful prompt, and punctual.I would definitely go back there for my next DOT physical examination.

Staff was very friendly. Clean place. The doctor and Gabrielle were very polite and knowledgeable.

I went there to take my daughter and myself there. My daughter was coughing really bad and they diagnosed her right away with upper respiratory infection and I myself needed antibiotics. The Dr there was extremely kind, nice, helpful, caring also the workers there were very nice and helpful to me. We were in and out within a hour tops and that was both of being seen. I would definitely go here any day before any other place or doctor.!!!!

Remember that feeling when you really hurt yourself - more than a skinned knee, the kind of thing that you knew would catch a whipping? I had adult that (gout - eat right and exercise, kids), and when it got so bad that I knew Id have to get in trouble with Adult Parents (our Doctors), I was dreading the entire experience.I EAT carrots sometimes, you guys! I had my friend Grungus piece of lettuce! I know how to be nutritious! And its perfectly normal to grow a second, very angry, VERY Vegan head. Totally normal. Happens all the time.Which is why it was so normal to be treated like just another person at AFC Urgent Care South Philly. The staff was incredible (and EXTREMELY attractive while still somehow being also talented, so they might be super-committed actors), the wait times were literally minutes and the whole experience was low-stress, kind and most importantly, confidently chill. It was okay that I was there, because they were gonna take care of me. They didnt have to say it, you kinda knew when you walked in.Literally everyone; reception, nurse, doctor and that guy in the reception area that high-fived me for putting my shoe back on my swollen gout-afflicted foot, they were all somehow amazing.And I cant stress this enough: everyone was, like, SUPER attractive. I might have fallen in love trying to remember if I had insurance. You are very pretty, front desk girl I was too scared to ask out!

The staff was wonderful. Friendly, courteous & competent. My ailment was 100% cured.The parking lot, however, was full of trash. The property owner should hire someone to clean it up.

Just a great urgent care experience - and that sounds weird. Check in super easy, kind screener and great doc! Pharmacy right across the street for prescriptions - could not be easier.

I had to take my mom here for x-rays on her foot and I have to say the entire office staff was wonderful. Everyone was very pleasant And attentive. I would highly recommend this urgent care at any time to anyone

Do not go to this AFC Urgent Care location. I went for an acute illness and the doctor I saw asked me my profession, and then told me that everyone in my profession is a liar, and continued an insulting political rant while I was still on the exam table. His exam was not complete (I came in for an acute respiratory infection and he did not listen to my lungs at all, and did not check my ears until I asked him to). After the exam I told him his behavior was upsetting and inappropriate, and he rolled his eyes and repeated his prior comments. I answered an automated survey text about the visit and described the incident. Shortly after, the doctor called me and said he was sorry for how he behaved. I simply told him that I hope he never treats another patient the way he treated me. I have since learned that due to a long string of alleged misconduct documented in court and in media reporting at the time, he lost his medical license in a neighboring state, but still practices in PA. I am appalled that AFC employs a doctor with this history who behaves this way toward patients, and Im appalled that they thought having him call me himself after this incident was an appropriate way to handle it. I will be pursuing formal complaints.

This Urgent Care has the nicest staff & Drs! The gentleman at the front desk put Disney on for my 7yr old without hesitation or even being asked! Everyone is so nice & professional! Thank you urgent Care South Philly!

I didn’t wait no more than 5 mins to be seen. The doctor came in asked me what was wrong took a couple of test got my results back within 10 mins everything was negative. It was my sinus the doctor called in my prescription and I was gone. I wasn’t in there no longer than 25 min

I have done walk-in covid tests/consultations here twice, and they are always very attentive and thorough. Despite being thorough, Ive never had to wait very long!

The staff is amazing ! I waited for about an hour in pain , and when I got checked by the doctor he wouldn’t even consider prescribing me an antibiotic for my tooth . It was the weekend , I had no other option . I left in tears. I asked him if he was serious, and he said yes there’s nothing he can do. All I needed was an antibiotic. They also charged myDebit card 2 months later. I will no use this off or again strictly because of that doctor the staff is amazing

I received amazing care at this location. You never plan to get hurt and when you do it’s scary. The staff meds me feel safe and not worry about my illness. It was a great experience at a scary time. I highly recommend. This is my top choice for an urgent care center.

Such a kind staff and nurses. My stroller couldn’t fit through their doors, so they opened them wider for me. My daughter hates going to the doctor, especially when she is sick, but the nurse was so patient and nice to her. The doctor was very fast, but I felt that he was thorough. I would go there again. Everyone was so nice, and we left with a diagnosis and prescription.

Staff is very friendly they make sure I feel comfortable would recommend going early in the morning because they do get crowded other then that never had problems with thm

First let me say the women at the front desk were lovely and friendly and I was seen promptly, so in that regard this location was good. I came in with a sinus infection, which I am prone to and know exactly what I had. The doctor refused to take this into account and said they don’t prescribe antibiotics there, that I had to go to my primary. (My primary had instructed me to go to urgent care so I could get started on an antibiotic quicker since it’s the weekend.) I asked him why he didn’t think it was a sinus infection when I’m 100% it is and he said it “wasn’t his job to educate me because it’s not a doctors office”. Very rude and frustrating bc I wasted money and my morning and will just have to go back to the doctor later to get medicine to actually feel better. Meanwhile I looked it up online and I have all the symptoms. If you want actual help because you are sick just skip this place.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I never leave reviews but I am honestly so upset I have to. I was just in this urgent care on passyunk, because my daughter is having knee pain. The nurse kindly asked me what we were here for and I explained that I wasn’t really sure but that my daughter was having pain in both knees. The Dr. who I now know to be Noi Walkerstein interrupts and rudely says that there is nothing that they can do for her there. I was taken aback and said that her pediatrician had told me the night before to go to an urgent care for an X-ray. She went on to say that she was an internist and an X-ray is not what she needs, she needs to see an orthopedist. I work at a bank I have no medical background, they way she was speaking to me was so condescending and unprofessional. The nurse saw that I was visibly upset and said it would be ok, when I said I couldn’t believe how the Dr spoke to me she started yelling from behind the wall! The back of her card has AFC’s mission statement “ …to provide a kind and caring environment…. We received neither.

I brought my daughter for a sports physical. We registered ahead of time for the appointment and it took less than twenty minutes from time we checked-in for the visit to be completed.

I went to urgent care yesterday for bruised ribs and I have to say everyone working there was so nice so helpful pleasant I would recommend if you need to go to urgent care go to the one at 15th and passyunk

Im going to preface this by saying the reception staff, nurse, and manager were very kind.that said, my visit here was the absolute worst experience. the doctor (an older man with grey hair) didnt listen to anything I had to say, told me I had to see my PCP, and when I explained I had to find a new PCP because of insurance changes and they wont be able to see me for another four months, he asks me well if youre not seeing a doctor, whos loading you up on all those drugs? (referring to the medications I have to take to manage my illness). Completely unprofessional but surprisingly not even the worst part!He then proceeds to ask me if I am a man (I identify as female) and when I reply that I am a female he continues to argue with me! I said I was assigned male at birth and he continues ranting about how I am a man and was born a man and even goes as far to suggest that my HRT is what is making me ill!!!This experience was so traumatizing to me and I actually left the office in tears! Thankfully the receptionists were very kind and supportive as was the manager, though I was surprised to hear that this is a pattern with him? why does he work here still?If you are a member of the trans community I heavily recommend anywhere but here!! Your identity will be completely and utterly invalidated!!!

Best in and out service in Philadelphia and the staff is pleasant. I had a great experience and will definitely be back for urgent visits.

I came to this urgent care since my primary care doctor couldnt see me for another week. When youre sick, sometimes you cant wait another day. The staff was efficient with the check in process and the doctor was thorough with my care. I will be recommending this urgent care to family and friends. Thanks AFC!

The receptionist and medical assignment were very kind and helpful. The doctor there was very rude, condescending and unprofessional. He made me feel very uncomfortable. My vitals were never taken and I did half of my own tests. Do not feel I was properly examined or that I got the proper testing done. Will be going somewhere else for care. I do not recommend this place at all.

Fast service but poor quality. I received stitches for a cut and returned 8 days later as instructed to have them removed. At that visit I was recommended a tetanus shot which should have been offered at the initial visit. The assistant who administered the vaccine injected it too high up on my upper arm which left me with an extremely painful shoulder injury that I’m being treated for. I would not recommend anyone to go there.

I’m not gonna lie this place was amazing. Had you in and out and made sure everything was well. The front desk had patience with the people that walked through the door asking questions no attitudes no nothing.

The staff was polite and efficient. I was seen at my scheduled appointment time, I was in and out but I did not feel rushed. Best of all I was diagnosed properly and I feel much better.

I had a wonderful experience at this location. Nobody plans an emergency and when it happens you worry about where your going to go. AFC exceeded my expectations. The wait was short, the desk staff was pleasant. Even more importantly, Dr. Walkenstein was incredible. I rarely visit the doctor but I had a persistent pain in my leg for several months and went to this urgent care. Very fast and thorough service. Dr. Walkenstein was very to the point and because of her diagnosis my pain has resolved. The supporting staff was also very professional and compassionate.

First time patient there, service was excellent, building was very clean, staff was very friendly.

Everyone at AFC Urgent Care South Philly was SO KIND. Its the most fun to have to go to urgent care but I wouldnt hesitate to go here if I ever needed it again. I was seen at my apt time, the receptionist was welcoming, the nurses were also kind, and the doctor was great. The owner even stopped me on the way out to make sure I was all good- honestly unheard of these days! The staff could not have been nicer. I went in, they confirmed that I was positive and was out in less than an hour. Prescription was sent to my pharmacy, and they instructed me on how to take my meds. Genuinely nice and helpful staff, from the receptionist all the way to the attending Physician, nice and professional staff.

I usually dont leave reviews, but I wanted to post my experience this time, because it was great. The service was very polite and informative. I needed to deal with immigration forms, and they helped me with everything and made the process easy. Overall, my experience was satisfactory.

My experience was very good. The male working at the front desk was very nice and helpful. He made my check-in process very quick and easy. My daughter took her 11 year old son there today and the staff was using foul language behind the reception desk! They were treated by the doctor who also was very unprofessional. Dr.noi walkenstien and her staff were very unprofessional!! We will no longer use theyre service and were also making a complaint to the medical health department asap!

AFC Urgent care in South Philly is the best. The staff is wonderful because they expedite your care. The doctors are knowledgeable and professional. Sometimes I wait hours for my primary to call me so I visit AFC Urgent care to get expeditious medical care.

Was a total waste. My son has an upper respiratory infection. The Dr William Demedo literally told him to go home and eat some chicken noodle soup. Are you kidding me. This kid needs an antibiotic. What a joke.

I had a great experience here today. While I cant promise my experience will reflect others, (I was the only patient and it was 1:50pm on a Monday) my appointment was exactly on time and I was in and out within 20 minutes. This has literally never happened to me at an urgent care. The doctor answered all of my questions in a concise manner. Also, the desk staff were queens and complimented my pants.

I would definitely visit again. Very professional and I had all concerns addressed within 45 minutes without feeling rushed or like an assemblyline. Visited again a few years later and found same excellent service in a timely and respectful way. Definitely my go to place for in between scheduled primary doc appts.

I take my kids here anytime they are sick for a fast check up! Staff is always super friendly, I never seem to be waiting long. They will get you in and out in no time with great care.

Arrived as soon as they opened. The woman at the front desk was clear, direct and kind. I filled out their forms and was brought back within ten minutes. The doctor then saw me and had me out of there in about 15 minutes. Very clean and organized.

Came here the other day and the service was great and fast. The doctor and staff were awesome. I believe there has been new management which I can tell from the last time I was there. Would recommend.

The staff were friendly, I was seen pretty quickly, and given a diagnosis, walked through my meds, and when I got my paperwork they indicated the script was sent to my pharmacy for pickup. It was easy. And the wait in the office was shorter than being in hold with my PCP!(update) I went with my family today, the three of us had strep. We were seen quickly, had a great rapport with the staff, and were very satisfied with the care that we were provided.

Gabrielle is easily the best worker there. Such an easy and positive experience. Very knowledgeable with everything. Always ask for her if you have to go.

Very polite staff and I was seen after only a short wait unfortunately I was informed by the treating physician that they could not treat my condition. They refunded my copay and recommended another urgent care facility. The staffer still gave me a note confirming I was seen and that was very helpful with my employer. I was ultimately treated at the other facility. All is well. Id use AFC again but the other place was also nice. Its all good

Everyone from the front desk,to the technician to the doctor were so pleasant and helpful. The service was fast also. I was out in 1 1/2 hours. I had a fractured pinkie toe. Thank you all so much.

I was seen quickly and the evaluation was adequate but the Xray tech Frank was the highlight. He was knowledgeable, friendly, put me at ease instantly with his approachability. He explained what and why for each X-ray (just my thumb but that’s a complex and important part of the hand) and came out into the waiting room to give me my results and see me off in a kind and friendly manner. If you have to get X-rays or think you do…AFC south Philly is the place you go! Thanks guys

They were super fast, very compassionate and helpful with any questions I had. They called me as soon as they got my X-ray results back, and explained my aftercare very well. I live in Bucks County but work in South Philadelphia, and I will continue to use AFC urgent care in the future. 10 out of 10!

I honestly didnt have high expectations for this place. I had a pretty bad experience at the Urgent Care that used to be in the basement of the old St. Agnes Hospital on Broad and McKean.I went early (before opening) to this location so that I could beat the rush. The front desk employee was extremely nice and friendly. The nurse was extremely friendly. I normally would go to my primary for the issue I had, but its Saturday and he is closed. What is important to me is bedside manner and not the typical doctor ego.I pick up on peoples energy and as soon as the doctor (Dr. Robinson) walked into the room, he was just radiating positive energy. He talked to me like a human and explained everything to me. Even complimenting me on my tattoos and serenading me with a little song. 🤣 I dont like to be in medical facilities as they make me very anxious. This doctor put my nerves at ease.Thank you so much for being an amazing place that happens to be just two blocks away from my home.I went in and 8 am and was out by 8:45 am. And, there were 2 people ahead of me.And, the nurse told me that the other location that I mentioned in the first paragraph closed. Go figure. 🤣

Bothers me when places dont answer the phone. Ive called Literally 50 times this morning and its like the phone is off the hook. Your a place of business act like it. And answer the got damn phone.

I recommend afc urgent care on passyunk. The front desk staff are so kind and helpful with the check in process. I was taken back to see the doctor almost immediately. I am very satisfied with my experience and will be returning if needed.

Went in for fractured arm. Care was fast, Dr was great & staff was just as wonderful.

I made apt for travel health advice planning to receive typhoid and rabies vaccine. I was told that they dont carry rabies vaccine and were out of typhoid vaccine. I asked for a prescription for the oral typhoid vaccine which I could just pick up at a pharmacy and take at home and was told the doctor does not prescribe oral typhoid vaccine. There is no medical reason for that and the likely explanation is that they would not make money if I pick up a vaccine at the pharmacy. Staff was rude and more interested in ordering lunch than providing service.

I would normally go to Penn Urgent Care, but that place was closed down. Im glad it did bc thats how I found out about AFC Urgent Care. The people there are wonderful and friendly. They got me in & out and the best part is my sickness went away after taking medication the doctor prescribed. Thank you!

Came in for an issue with my throat—doctor told me that because I had persistent trouble that it wasn’t “urgent.” Further, he told me he couldn’t do any tests or make referrals, so he couldn’t treat me. Was very flippant and condescending as well. So…I went to the EMERGENCY ROOM (Pennsylvania Hospital, highly recommend), where I was treated with empathy, and they were able to diagnose and treat me WITH THE EXACT SAME TOOLS that the doctor here had at his disposal. I would recommend going absolutely anywhere else. Shout out to the triage nurse tho, she was very cool and deserves a better job.

All medical professionals and staff provided compassion and kindness from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left! Entire staff was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable! Waiting room is big and clean! I did not wait long at all. Highly recommend AFC Urgent Care located in South Philly.

If you think you might be past the point of using cold medicine but dont want a $500 copay at the ER this is a great place to go first. You can walk in without appointment. My over week long head cold seemed like it was getting worse so walked over. Waited only as long as filling out a form on my phone. They gave me three rapid tests for covid, strep, and flu (all negative) and was seen by Dr. Demedio right away. He quickly figured out I had a sinus infection and prescribed me 2 scripts (he sent in right away and were ready at CVS in minutes) and told me to rest. Waiting room is large, Dr and whole staff are wonderful. Definitely recommend.

This urgent care is top tier. They were so nice and the service was super fast, very clean facility. This will be my go to for sure.

I was anxious about my visit since it would be my first. I found AFC Urgent Care to be amazing from Dr. Demedio to the staff including Sophie, Diane, Gabrielle and the young man. They were professional yet showed a true bedside manner with warmth which is appealing and set me at ease. I would highly recommend this care facility for whatever your needs are. Receptionist seem friendly but not sure what the mix up was about. Didnt know for std testings they dont take you unless you pay out of pocket. It doesnt say that on the website.. no where does it mention you have to pay $350 for that service.. i thought you accept insurance? They did give me a paper tho with other urgent cares to go to thankfully.

I live around the corner from this place and pass many times. Today was the second time I used their services. Everyone from check in to check out was thorough, friendly and professional. I won’t hesitate to use their services again!And they accept my insurance!

Clean, efficient, and friendly staff / medical professionals. No question seemed out of place an I felt like everyone who treated me was knowledgeable about my symptoms.

I have been there twice so far, and both visits were great. The whole staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I went right around 8 30am both visits, and waited less than 30 minutes, which is amazing compared to other urgent cares. I have an urgent care near my house, but will keep using AFC due to these factors.1/28/22 3rd visit took approximately 30 mins total. Very quick and efficient. 1/25/23 fastest appointment of my life with a proper diagnosis. Cant beat it!

Absolutely fantastic just left with my young son who has pink eye. Staff was super friendly & very patient with him. Dr. Assistant he was just awesome! Made my little guy feel so comfortable! He made this experience very very easy. My little guy wasn’t feeling well at all & immediately he started to smile & talk. He even begin showing little little muscles while getting his vitals taken. Dr. Was great aswell! Receptionist staff simply terrific! Sent over prescription in a matter of seconds and we were on our way! Seen the receptionist while picking up our prescription and she checked on us making sure we were being serviced! Now that’s quite amazing! I would defiantly go back and or refer! Terrific establishment! Keep up the great work guys! My little guys is now home resting & I am finally relieved! :)

Dr. Noi Walkenstein was very rude and condescending. She obviously doesn’t treat you with respect. She couldn’t stop pacing back and forth and talks very fast, like she couldn’t wait to get you of the room. I wouldn’t recommend her at all and will never come back to this place.

Never have I experienced such fast, yet thorough care! I took my daughter in for what turned out to be an upper respiratory infection/bronchitis. We were in the office all of 20-25 minutes total. She was being triaged and seen by the doctor at the same time... Amazing! I definitely would recommend 😁

Super convenient to book an appointment online using their site, which included the intake process of uploading ID and insurance information ahead of time so that when I got to the office everything was already done.The woman at the front desk was helpful and welcoming; I was seen exactly at my appointment time slot by the nurse & doctor. The office was clean, atmosphere welcoming, and everyone I dealt with was helpful and great.Unless it’s a true emergency I recommend booking online to avoid any potential crowds. Or go in on a Sunday when things are calmer than during the week.

Very bad service. Made an appointment to get my stitches removed for 1130 wasn’t taken back until 12. Once my vitals were taken I waited for the doctor to come in and take the stitches out. The aid was helpful and kind and got the instruments to take my stitches out ready for the doctor. The doctor came in and said he would not take my stitches out because I did not get them at that urgent care? While this is true and I got the stitches in the emergency room, the ER assured me that any urgent care would be able to take out the stitches. The doctor was extremely rude and I felt rushed out. If this is the case with this location - why was I able to make an appointment and waste an hour of my time to then finally be seen and be told to leave and that my card would be refunded. Why did they even take my vitals? Why was the doctor screaming at me about how he isn’t affiliated with Jefferson? Since my vitals were taken and instruments were laid out ready to use it only leads me to believe the doctor had some sort of prejudice against me whether it was my last name, age or gender. Extremely unprofessional, and RUDE!

Super pleased with my visit to AFC South Philly. Everyone, front the front desk to the clinical staff, was lovely and helpful. I think I was in and out in under 30 minutes, which is super nice when youre feeling sick. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others!

I hate going into Philly to do anything, but my experience with the staff and including the Dr. was phenomenal. They were inviting, very nice, and my wait was not long for their services. Thank you so much for the experience in my time of need.😘

The Urgent Care service was extremely quick. The facility is extremely clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The receptionist was very pleasant and reassure. The Medical Assistant was also very pleasant and efficient. The treating physician was very informative and explained everything. She was thorough in her instructions concerning the prescriptions she ordered. I would definitely go back to AFC Urgent care and would tell my friends and family to go there also.

IMO: it’s a pill-mill. 💊💊💊-> Noi Walkenstein, DODid not treat me with respect.She interrupted me several times & she TALKED SO FAST that I would not be surprised if she was on Amphetamines.I felt rushed and pushed into the next room.I declined the x-ray & muscle relaxers…I JUST finished telling her that I had an X-ray at Jefferson!!! They found nothing.The other workers were very helpful, butI will never go there again.

Pretty laid back atmosphere, kind folks. I came in with extreme foot pain after an injury. I got X-rays and was diagnosed with a sprain. A full four days later they left me a voicemail shortly before closing. I left a message the next day. I finally reached someone SIX days later to tell me my foot was broken. It took talking with the owner to get my X-rays on a disc to go to my Ortho. The tech was out and no one knew how to retrieve the images. The owner Jim was really helpful and made it happen, but when I got to the Ortho they said the images were all of my ankle. I had to have new X-rays taken anyway. Just a lot of hassle. Probably a great location for more minor concerns.

Wish I could rate a 0. Worst experience ever. I went in for a suspected minor abrasion to my cornea something I have experienced in the past. I walked in and they only asked me for my name. They did not ask me my full name, DOB, insurance info etc. They called me by my first name (the only info they had about me) to come to triage. The person asked me why I was in and I told him. He went and talked to the doctor and came back to say that they are not going to see me and that I should go to Wills eye as it may be serious. How would they know if it was serious without examining me? Really unprofessional. I knew the moment I walked into triage that given that they had no info on me that I was not going to be comfortable continuing. I went directly across the street to another urgent care who provided excellent medical care and a full examination without any issues.I will never go back to this urgent care. Do better.

My fiance was in a car accident and we came here for him to be seen. Unfortunately they do not see patients for car accidents. The front desk girl immediately gave us a paper with addresses and phone numbers for places we could go instead. I just wanted to say that we really appreciated that extra effort and care she gave us. I feel like customer service is lacking at a lot of places since COVID so her kindness and helpfulness really meant a lot to us. She could’ve just said “we can’t help, sorry” and had us leave. So, like I said, I REALLY appreciated her helpfulness in finding another place to go where my fiance could be seen.

It was an overall rewarding experience. The staff were great and attentive and the doctor gave me what I needed to improve my health quickly. Long wait time but to be expected. Thank you all for the great care provided.

This was the first time I visited this location; last Friday and this Monday.. During my visits I met the most professional, well mannered individuals who knew exactly how to provide EXCELLENT SERVICE. Everyone welcomed me in a professional manner; they really made me feel very comfortable expressing my concerns and needs, they all were very knowledgeable with providing top notch customer care and services. Also, they took their time with explaining to me what was required. The next time I need Urgent Care this would be the go to facility. I woke up on a Monday morning not feeling well for 2 weeks now and my primary care dr is a pain to get into so my mother in law told me about this urgent care. I went and made an appointment at 9am for 9:45am I showed up early to fill out paper work and I was out of there by 10am. The Dr sent my prescription to my pharmacy and it was ready by the time I got there. Quick, easy, and the dr was very understanding and caring and wanted to help me get well,

First I’d like to say that it’s just awesome that you can make an online appointment. I went in with dizziness from a bad cold/flu I’d had for about 7 days prior. Was just getting worse instead of better and was starting to think I may have pneumonia. Only waited about 15 minutes in waiting room. Was called in to triage, which took 5 minutes and straight into a room. Waited about 7 minutes and was seen by doctor. One of the best doctors I have ever seen. Really listened to my complaints. Anyway, I had gotten a breathing treatment, antibiotics and a chest X-ray all in less than an hour. Really nice staff and I mean everyone. If I had gone to the emergency room for the same services, it would of been a 3-4 hour trip. So thankful for such a great urgent care center. Truly above the rest.

Place was clean. Everyone from the front desk, to the nurse, to the doctor that saw me was nice and professional. They said it would take an hour to an hour and a half. I was out of there without 45 minutes.

I had a wonderful experience. Everyone was so nice and friendly Dr Demedio was so nice I felt very comfortable my first time there. The Nurse assisting Dr Demedio was wonderful too.

I did not have a good experience here. The nurses at the desk were nice enough. I was not asked if I had an appointment (which I did) as opposed to a walk-in. I sat and waited 20 minutes before being called to the desk. The nurse who took my vitals was very kind and efficient. The Dr who came in was rude, short, and not helpful. Despite my request for a chest X-ray, he refused. I have health insurance for a reason. I did not want to go to the emergency room and be exposed to Covid. I have asthma and my pulmonologist wanted me to get a chest X-ray. But he told me no and walked away. I’ll never go here again.

I’ve been to the 15th and Passyunk facility numerous times and always experience a courteous and professional staff. They have a good process for seeing patients and the wait is never long. Most importantly the PA and doctors are excellent. Case in point my recent visit the doctor correctly diagnosed me with Shingles and referred me to Wills Eye Emergency Room for my right eye. That quick diagnosis probably saved some of my vision. They are great!

Experience was just ok. Wait times were fine (2 hours from arrival to departure). In triage I was tested for a couple illnesses with nasal swabs but the tech handling the swabs and test kits didn’t even bother to wear gloves (!). Doctor seemed a bit disinterested and rushed, but in the end I got the care I needed.

Very nice receptionists, DRs and Nurses. Highly recommend!Also this was the second or third time I have been there service was rather quick each time. But that could have been the days and/or times I have went.

The folks at the front desk were absolutely lovely. They were very kind and welcoming and I didn’t wait long to be brought back to an exam room. The nurse who took my intake info, took my blood pressure and all was also so friendly. I could tell her goal was to make me feel better. I went in with a chest cold and she asked me questions that seemed to be asked with the intention of passing useful information onto the doctor before he came in.Now the doctor. I have now had this doctor twice. The first was two years ago when I had Covid. I came into AFC South Philly after taking an at-home test because my employer at the time required me to get a PCR test, something I obviously couldnt do at home. The doctor reprimanded me for coming in and pointed out my ignorance of athome testing. Now, in 2023, he reprimands me again. He yells at me to get a chest X-ray TODAY and if my PCP can’t do it I need to go to the emergency room. With a quick listen to my heart (and not my lungs even though I came in with a chest cold), a good ‘ol speaking to, and no dialogue with me, the patient, he walks out of the room. No goodbye, no sort of plan for me to walk away with, just walks out.Later that day, I ended up paying out-of-pocket at a different urgent care for much better care and a prescription for an antibiotic. Five days later, no chest x-ray, no ER visit, a plan I fully understood, I feel much better. That is surely no thanks to Dr. Whats His Name.

First time at this Urgent Care. The staff, the Dr. were friendly and efficient. Waiting time was minimal, I had a cut that was determined to be infected, immediately given a tetanus shot and rx for antibiotics. A+ care would go back there for any issues.

Went here for the first time to get a physical and form completed. I was a walk in and was checked in, had my vitals taken, saw a doctor in about 30 minutes. The receptionists were very nice. The nurse or medical assistant was friendly, professional and nice to chat with. I saw Dr. Harris who was efficient and very sweet. Overall great experience!!

Very pleasant. Staff professional and willing to explain what is going on. They also get you in and out. According to what you are there for. There service is better than some doctors offices and ER visits.

They were wonderful front desk the doctor the nurse I spent 15 minutes in here between paperwork seeing doctors got the prescription for the strep throat and was going back home Everything was fabulous. Everyone understood everything and I love the dark. I came across her somewhere else previously before. I love it here

I came in here for a tetanus shot following accidentally stepping on some sewing pins, and honestly the staff was so pleasant and friendly it totally made my day. Will definitely keep coming back here next time I get sick or stupidly injure myself!

I went in due to an itchy rash & hives, the doctor looked at my skin for 2 seconds said i dont know what this is i cant do anything for you and left before i could even reply. I didnt expect a diagnosis but i was expecting something to at least help my itching and rash. he was in the room for not even a whole 20 seconds, he was the most unprofessional doctor i have ever met. i didnt get his name but he was an older white (i think) man with grey hair.

From a broken ankle to bad allergies, etc. I go here for most of my medical needs. It’s convenient to be able to go here and be seen with no appointment necessary. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and service is quick. I highly recommend this urgent care as compared to the other one close by to this one. (Penn Urgent Care) and after just reading other reviews, I’m disappointed more people didn’t leave 5 stars. I’ve been here several times and never noticed uncleanliness in any of the rooms I’ve been seen in. The only minor complaint I have is that I was never called with my positive covid test result, but thankfully the assistant who did my test did tell me I could go to Lab Corp’s website in 3 days to find out my result, which is what I did.

I did not have the same experience as I did prior. I came back to this location because of the ease of scheduling appointments, access, and little to no wait times. Which has not changed but I was dismissed from the time I was triaged until the provider saw me in the room.There was no other patient in the office. The provider asks the MA who is in room 2 and what are they here for….The MA says allergies which I clearly told him I had none.When the provider came in the room I told him I’m not here for allergies. He was taken back and said why would you say that? I let him know I clearly heard what the MA stated and it’s inaccurate and I don’t appreciate that.The provider was very dismissive asked if I paid money and said there was nothing he could do. They don’t have oxygen in the office. Did not perform an exam I was a scolded for not going to my PCP. He called the front desk and told them to refund my money.I will not be returning and have filed a grievance with my insurance provider. No one should receive such vile treatment.

The staff at the front desk were very efficient, didn’t waste any time ,got me be back there pretty quick, and the nurse and the doctor went right to work on me and I was in and out of there within a half hour and they called my prescriptions in, highly recommend.

I must say today was a little different than yesterday. The Dr. I saw yesterday went out of her way not only to call me , but wanted to make sure that if I wasn’t able to have a chest X-ray there , too go to another facility.. unfortunately, she was not there today , but I had the the x- ray done . I would have personally liked to have been seen by her only because she would have done a reevaluation. She wanted to figure out what the problem was and maybe talk about another approach. The staff as always truly courteous and professional. The wait time is like nothing. It is the best urgent care center I have ever been too!!

They are the closest place to home that offers rapid covid testing. Rapid test isnt covered under insurance but that wasnt their fault. Registration was easy and the Staff were polite and most helpful. Test results came back in 2 hours and now I have peace of mind and can get back to work. Cant thank you all enough.***Update***I have been here twice since the above review, had wonderful experiences all both times. Very caring and professional staff, highly recommend.

My go to Please when my doctors appointment is for the staff, here are very nice and polite and they do whatever they can to assist you. I had nothing but good vibes.

The definitive worst medical experience of my life. I arrived to a pretty empty room with chest, throat, and neck pain. The assistant who took my vitals, he was a good guy. The doctor was pathetic. She rushed me, literally did absolutely nothing, and told me she was writing me up for an antibiotic. The process took less than 4 minutes. No check of my throat, no xray, just a real embarrassment. I leave to go the front desk kind of in shock that I still had questions but was literally rifled out of the exam room. That’s when I was told I had a $140 co-pay. I have been to this urgent care before and have only ever paid $50 for my copay. That’s when I lost it. I declined to pay and left. Thankfully I went over to Inspira urgent care a little closer to my hime and they performed the proper tests and diagnosed me with strep throat and another infection that I have but will not disclose related to my neck pain. If they even try to bill me, I will be calling a lawyer. The woman doctor was as unprofessional and as inconsiderate as any doctor I have ever come across. The experience was awful. They didn’t check me for anything aside my temp, vitals, and pulsoc. She took no interest in diagnosing me, just getting me out of the office. I had a serious illness and am just kind of left in shock. Aside from that the front desk girls were pleasant and the as I said before the male nurse was cool. I was in the office for less than 4 minutes ! Did I catch them as they were about to close at 9am ? It was just a total wow medical experience and then to tell me I owe them more than I actually did was the last straw.

I was impressed. Super friendly staff at the front desk, a kind nurse who ran my symptoms and performed vitals, a really nice, informative doctor that helped me out and a minimal wait time. Start to finish I was maybe there twenty-five minutes. (Granted I was the only patient in the waiting room at the time, so I got lucky there.) I was sick going on eleven days and needed a medical evaluation. I am glad I went here. I had a very pleasant experience and felt very much cared for.

The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The x-ray technician and attending physician were great. I was seen immediately once I arrived and was really pleased with the level of service I received. I have been to this urgent care facility a few times and have always received a very high level of care. The staff is friendly and the doctors always answer any questions and take the time to answer questions - never making you feel rushed. I recommend this facility without reservation.

After 7 years of living in the city, I NEVER knew this place was here! My first experience here and of all the urgent care facilities Ive been to across the US, this place is hands down the best. I booked online and was in triage and didnt even have my coat off! Everyone was friendly, the place was clean, well stocked with handy tissues and hand sanitizer. And I will say it again, everyone was FRIENDLY. When youre under the weather, nobody wants a cranky receptionist. The doctor on staff took her time with me and listened to my ailment and qe worked out a treatment plan so I can get on the mend. I LOVE this place. If you need urgent care, give them a call or book online. The 4.7 star rating is for real!

2nd time at this location and they did nothing but charge me. Front desk staff is sweet and amazing. Doctor, not so much. He didnt seem like he even wanted to be there and didnt want to do anything. The procedure I needed I have had done at other urgent care locations with zero issues. They literally charged me to tell me he wont do it. I have PCOS and get infected cysts quickly. It is a holiday weekend and I cant see my doctor leaving me now to cancel plans and go to the ER. Again. Worst part is their doctor on duty was rude and didnt seem like he wanted to be there.Thank you for your reply Jim. I am familiar with the procedure and live with this. I have gone to other urgent cares with no issues and followed up to have surgery. Just an FYI, i could have gotten the antibiotics from my doctor over jefferson mychart. I was told to go to an urgent care before it burst, which I did...and 6 hours later, the cyst burst. Soo, I ended up missing Christmas and went to another urgent care where I was taken care of properly. I think I wouldnt have written this review if your doctor wasnt so rude and condescending, not allowing me to say one word and walked out of the room. ... your doctor saw it and knew what was going to happen and that I wouldnt make it through the holiday. He just rather not work and made a comment several times that you closed at 6.... my fault going to your location since I could walk there rather then the other location that I had did this done multiple times with zero issues. Now I know why everyone around here says to never go to your urgent care. Should have listened.

I am so pleased with the service I received today! I was in and out in less than an hour, the entire staff was super helpful- the front desk receptionist, the intake nurse and the doctor- they were all very kind, polite, and accommodating to my needs. They also made myself as well as my boyfriend who accompanied me, feel comfortable and welcome. I will definitely returning here if need be and highly recommended this establishment to anyone who is seeking immediate and thorough care for all health needs! I always get my Medical DOT card from this place every 2 years. Staffs & Doctors they’re very professional. Whenever my family needed to quick check up for minors healthcare we always went there. We don’t have to wait long line like in emergency at hospitals.

Clean facility. Very short wait (I arrived at 8:30am on a weekday) to be called and to see the doctor. The nurse and the doctor explained what was going on and addressed all of my concerns. I’ve been before later in the day with a longer wait, but always good service in the end.

My experience at AFC Urgent care was great. I was very satisfied with the whole experience from the tkme period, test, speedy results of test and the exam received along with the medications prescribed.

I brought my Mom here, who is 80 years old. Minimal wait time to be seen & have X-rays done. Every member of the staff were friendly & understanding. We’ll be going back if the need arises.

Diagnosed with bronchitis and a partial collapses lung. Dr. Walkenstein is amazing and I want her to be my PCP! Thorough, quick, organized and I am in the mend!

I was concerned about a rash on my foot after a walk. I explained my concern to the AFC Urgent Car Doctor, and her assistant. They evaluated my explanation and examined my rash. They said it might or might not be related to a cold that I had at the time, or the walking protocol I was following. I was seen quickly with no delay after filling out an intake form. There questions helped me explain why I was there and their evaluation was fact based. Thank you to them.

I was extremely shocked when I walked into this place to find very professional and nice receptionists sitting at the front ready to greet me as I walked in. The waiting area was very clean and had quite a few people waiting in front of me. I was seen in the matter of 45 minutes, in & out. This was faster than what I am used to when going to my regular family doctor! The nurse & doctor were both very pleasant and re assuring and was able to answer any questions I had. I went into the office on a Tuesday late morning and received a phone call from them on Thursday afternoon just checking in to see how I felt! I was completely shocked since I have never received a follow up phone call from a doctor’s office or hospital of any sort! I would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely return back to them in the future if ever need be. Thank you so much for an easy and good experience while I felt so down.

Since I’m not up to speed on this new technology,I wasn’t able to get the face time meeting to work but the person I spoke with understood and we still proceeded with the interview anyway. How many services does that? Not many. He ensured I had the correct address and time for my appointment. You couldn’t ask for better service and I would recommend AFC Urgent Care to my friends and family.👍🏾

Im very pleased with their services. The staff are very professional and took good care of me. There wasnt a long wait either, I was in and out within a half hr. I highly recommend that people go there and I will definitely return back there if needed. I really appreciate all that they did for me.

So I got there right at 8 am, when the facility opened. I was seen promptly and the triage gentleman has to be hands down, the nicest, happiest, most pleasant person I’ve ever interacted with. He made me smile and even laugh when I was sick and that’s REALLY hard to do. The doctor was efficient and professional and I was able to recveive quality care in a timely manner. The women at the front desk were pleasant and efficient as well. I am very happy with the service and care I received and overall a really great experience! I would go back to this location and I’d also recommend this location to anyone looking to be treated with respect, kindness and empathy.

If i could give 10 stars I would. Iwas extremely pleased with the care and the staff. I went to this office for my toddler because his primary was booked. The staff was pleasant and accommodated my toddler. We were seen promptly, without a long wait. The Dr had a great bedside manner and answered all my questions and concerns. I WOULD 100% recommend this facility to others.

The staff here at AFC were professional from the moment I walked in. They are the definition of Urgent. Very professional and well trained based on the way they handled my medical condition.

Great visit. I showed up early for my appointment and was seen early. They got all of my tests done quickly, and I was out the door with a prescription in no time flat. I just finished and am feeling much better, all thanks to you. So, thank you!

The Dr was excellent getting to see him horrible, I checked in at 4:15 pm and 3 people who came after me were seen before me. This was also because I let the receptionist know that their phone was going to voicemail all day, since I had been seen not even a week before wanted to see if I could get a RX called in, so I should have spoken up but since I knew I wouldnt be able to speak kindly I said nothing.

I was seen at 10am. Went to pick up my prescription at 4:45pm and it was not called in. Called, was told it would be called in immediately. Called at 6pm, still not called in. Super unprofessional. Sick, only way I can get better is with the antibiotic, and had to keep calling to get the Dr to take the time to call it in.First time I went months ago, was told I’d get a phone call within a few days for my lab results. Had to call them first when I didn’t hear for days, they told me it was lost in transit.EDIT TO RESPOND *** the Dr did say usually resolved on own. When I told her it was a week already, she said definitely do antibiotics. On my discharge papers literally states to take the antibiotic prescribed... yet again took 8 hours and 2 calls later to have her take the time to call it in. Seems she was too busy and had it to the side and forgot to do it. Not professional. It did end up being called in around 6pm that evening. So I did receive my antibiotic that she suggested I use. Thanks.

Excellent staff and physician. Was in and out in less than one hour. Highly recommend this office.

I was sick. The symptoms from my illness made me uncomfortable and miserable. But the professional, efficient and pleasant staff at the AFC Urgent Care made my visit an easy one. I was waited on immediately by the front desk staff. I filled out some paper work and with zero wait time I was quickly taking to the back by the medical assistant. She was fast and efficient with preparing me to see the Doctor. Immediately after that I was seen by the very professional efficient Doctor, who then listen to me describe what was going on with me. She thoroughly examined me and came up with a diagnosis. Then prescribed me some medicine , which she then sent to my pharmacy. She made such an unpleasant and uncomfortable illness not seem so bad. I would highly recommend anyone needing and seeking urgent care to go to AFC Urgent Care! They are highly Professional, speedy and efficient.

The only saving grace of this place is that the staff was friendly.The Bad:Staff member pulled their mask down while in the room with me. Put it back on when they left the room.Came for a suture removal. The sutures and wound area were not cleaned prior to removal.Dust and dirt in the corners of rooms made me question overall cleanliness.None of the providers I saw performed hand hygiene. Including the one who took out my sutures.Signs in the rooms from “management” giving the staff reminders were almost comical. If the management needs to post reminders in size 37 text and all caps, then they might have a leadership or training problem. Not great for a medical provider.The good:I didn’t die.Fast intake.

The staff at AFC Urgent Care South Philly are so sweet and accommodating! I came in with my one year old to have us both checked out, and when I had to get an X-ray, the M.A took my son and kept him entertained. I was so pleased with the service I received.

Loveee this Urgent Care! I Have been coming here from when they first opened! From when I walk in the door n approach the Front Desk Representatives to the Nicest Medical Assistant I have ever met and finally Dr that treated me!! All are exceptional!!

I’ve worked in insurance for 6 years, polite staff but advising wrong information. I have a $50 dollar copay, confirmed in network with my insurance provider, and they were advising I’d owe $100-200 (based on what doctor I’d see) so I left.
