Planned Parenthood - Providence Health Center

Have been going to planned parenthood for years with no problems until this location. Made an appointment to have an iud placed and was not correctly informed on how to prepare for the procedure. when i had researched it i saw some people can get local lidocaine injections to help with pain, when i asked i was told my provider was unable to do that the day of the appointment and that i would have to reschedule. got it done without lidocaine and it was the worst pain i have ever felt. afterwards i always thought the strings were long i was told they would soften and curl over time but they did not. i called complaining of some pain they told me that that’s was normal for the beginning. a month later i made an appointment to have it taken out - it was never in the correct spot and was snagged on my cervix. either it was placed incorrectly or i rejected it. after i switched to the pill which is fine but now that i need a refill on my prescription it’s taken over a week for them to send the prescription. first they sent the wrong med, then i called and they said they sent the right one and then the pharmacy said they never did. back and forth over and over and now i’ve been off my meds almost a week despite first attempting to have it filled almost 2 weeks ago. today is the second time this week i’ve been told a provider would call me and then no one ever did. today i called at 6:45 ( the third time because at 10 am they said someone would call me and then again at 3 they said the same thing and no one has ) and they had already rolled the phones despite being open until 7 today. infuriating.

The care I received was great each time I needed to go in. I was having some issues especially due to my PCOS and was on waiting lists for over a year to get in with new GYNs elsewhere so PP was a huge help while I waited to get into my new doctors office as a new patient. Honestly I preferred the medical care I received at PP over the doctors office.

Would give it no stars if I could.Scheduled an appointment online for routine STD testing as well as a checkup for some symptoms a month before the appointment.I got confirmation text messages for days, went to the appt on time, the woman was super rude and said “oh you booked this online? Yeahhh, we don’t get those bookings. Sorry, we’re full today”Didn’t try to get me in, didn’t even offer to reschedule me!I took a whole day out of work, got coverage for my child and they basically just tell you to go F yourself even when it’s their fault and not yours.And on top of it I’ve been waiting for this appointment as I really needed to speak to a dr.Way to go, planned parenthood, glad you really care about people

I don’t know what has happened in recent months, but their service has gone down the toilet when I went there for a procedure. I had zero issues and was able to get taken care of immediately. Had a friend who has now had two appointments with them, and has received zero answers for a potential ectopic pregnancy, and they keep sending her home and telling her to come back. They have not provided her with any concrete information about what is going on with her body and offered her no sources of emotional support to get through this.

Used to come here to get hormone blockers/birth control but I don’t feel safe coming to get gender affirmative treatment due to the amount of pro-birth protesters in front of the buliding. Something needs to be done about that since a lot of people who come to this practice are either LGBT or suffer from religious trauma. Another issue I had with this practice is that scheduling injection appointments was a struggle. There was no option to call the front desk and you were put on hold for hours at the National call Center. Would not recommend at all.

0 Stars, I scheduled an appointment for my injections a month in advance, one day before the appointment they called to confirm, the day of the appointment they called me 10 minutes before to cancel, I had requested that day off from work and I was already arriving to the clinic. It was very unfair and they didn’t give me any solution other than rescheduling a month later. They didnt even updated it in the Mychart app, Ill delete it since it only takes up space on my phone.

For your own physical, mental, and emotional health stay as far away as possible from this location. I would give it zero stars or negative if I could. The nurses and doctors do not have any sort of bedside manner nor do they respect your time. When I went in they informed me a doctor would see me in a few minutes. I waited for 30 minutes with no one coming to check on me. I asked how much longer because I had to get back to work, was told dismissively just another few minutes, and waited another 20 minutes before telling them I needed to leave. They said a doctor would be calling me soon. No one called for hours, I called and finally a doctor called back 20 minutes after that to ask questions the nurse practitioner had already asked. That same nurse practitioner was extremely dismissive when I pointed out some in correct information on my record saying oh who cares.They even put incorrect information into my medical record regarding my height among other information.They do not perform a full panel of STI testing and I was forced to call back and specifically request the tests that they did miss. When calling to discuss results they do not discuss them with you in full and if it had not been for my partner being a professional researcher I would not have found out that in all likelihood the positive results they gave me were in fact negative based on the results that I had to retrieve myself from the online portal. I am now compelled to find another doctor to rerun the tests so that I can get proper results. This has caused me a great deal of emotional duress due to the fact that they did not inform me of over the phone of how likely the results were negative.Do not go to this location and find literally anywhere else to get your medical services.

My experience was really painful because I was treated very rude by the nursing practitioner who saw me. I’ve never been in a medical center and be treated like a second class or dummy person and even less give me a diagnostic based on some family history questions which for me is absurd. I did not see any respect toward me. It was more the waiting time into the doctor’s office to see her than the time she spent with me. Also I was in shock when they took a note in a piece of napkin …”shame on them”. And she didn’t tell me anything different than I already know. Was a completely waste of time and money.

Best experience I have ever had at a doctors appointment (other than the dudes in the parking lot protesting, but they kept their distance.) I came here because I was unhappy with my regular OB-GYN (who Ive been avoiding for years) and had heard great things about this office. The office is beautiful, and literally everyone was wonderful to deal with. Front desk, medical assistants, and Jessica Wilder is an amazing practitioner. She listened to me and was super easy to talk to. I will definitely return and hope others will consider supporting a great office and organization.

Incredible staff here absolutely everyone I interacted with was down to earth, friendly, and informative. In and out in under 2 hours. I felt completely comfortable and respected. Ani and Katie two of the healthcare providers at the location were a absolute blessing during the process for me and my partner. Thank you for all you do!

Saw a wonderful women named Katie today, she was kind and made me feel comfortable. I was taken in right at my appointment time. Didn’t feel any pressure to have or not have abortion. Best planned parenthood I have ever been too

November 20 of this year was the first time for 1 minute to complete the time of my appointment, they did not want to attend to me, they canceled the appointment, they moved the appointment for 15 more days to December 7, 2023, I went so that they would not search excuse 20 minutes before my current appointment was at 2 I arrived at 1:40 they lasted more than 15 minutes asking me questions, they lasted about 10 to call me when I came in the gynecologists assistant named (Lee) I only remember her name, a dark-haired girl She wears glasses and I walked in and she told me if I could put my cell phone on silent that she was going to ask me 3 personal questions. I do it and she asks me, she leaves the room and when she enters the room again she tells me that she cant answer because she has called me more than 3 times for attention on my phone... which is a lie when she only calls me said that... the gynecologist Jelissa Neal came in and told me the same thing because the nursing assistant said that, I tell her that that is a lot of lies, that she only told me once, they tell me to come out very rudely and she gives me a folder and when I still didnt understand anything at the reception, they called her and what they proceeded to do was make fun of her and all her colleagues, laughing and looking at each other in a mocking way because she was demanding my time, which cost was still within the schedule. of my appointment not passed it was still 2:15 when that happened and my appointment was at 2 and I arrived 20 minutes early, they moved my appointment for 15 more days, I really do not recommend that place, they are not professional at all, they have a staff Terrible and rude, they should change it because what they do is laugh at people, they speak badly to you and treat you badly, apart from the fact that the gynecologist Neal never showed her face, they made me waste my time and that is an abuse on their part to play with the patients time and then among all those who are in the office and in front they make those types of jokes if they continue like this they will be left without a patient because they give a very mediocre and unprofessional service 😪I will not return nor recommend anyone to go to pass that shame and waste of time and very bad moment thank you 😪 this happened 175 Broad StProvidence, RI 02903United States

Had to come to the clinic at 8:20am, and didn’t get seen until 3pm. they did not update me on anything that was going on, and made me sit in multiple different rooms for hours. i would have more peace of mind if they were to update me, and keep me in the loop of when i would be seen next.

Shes 14 weeks we got here at 6:50am and its now 1:16pm still have not had the operation. I called to she why its taking so long and the claim cause were late and how far along she is. How are we late when are appointment is at 7am and why are we not priority. We PAID IN FULL $825 CASH!!! No payments over here we should definitely be priority.Update: 6:50am- 2:15pm was the official time it took mind you the appointment was at 7am and i paid cash in full🤦🏼‍♂️

Had an amazing experience with getting Nexplanon here. Lots of parking and google maps directed me to the parking lot entrance correctly. Very calm environment and very clean. The staff is nice and I was in and out in less than an hour. I was not left waiting for more than 3 minutes. Plenty of arrows to find your way out of the building.10/10

Wish I could put negative stars. Canceled my appointment. I called to rescheduled. Reassured me an out time. Sat waiting for an hour. Still no sign of being seen and when I need to cancel because my out time was 10mins away wanted has no availabilities for another 3 days. Worst patient service. 😒

Would give 0 if i could. Rudest doctors to grace the earth. Jumping to conclusions and then trying to give relationship advice as if they understand anything about your personal life. If i were to sum up the people here it would be rude, inattentive, narcissistic, and flat out gross. Left me and my partner emotionally distraught afterwards. I advise anyone with a brain to go elsewhere. This place is h e l l on earth.

Absolutely the best planned parenthood I’ve been too. They were kind, respectful and caring! I appreciate planned parenthood a lot, for being a safe spot for women to come! I would recommend this planned parenthood to anybody. :)

I have had an awful experience there, getting an abortion. They litterallly wouldnt stop trying to talk to me and help me both focus on the abortion....hoenstly they made it worse by doing that. I was already calm. They messed up twice during the procedure!!! Right before passing out one of the nurses put something in my wrist instead of my arm to take blood, another nurse ran over fixed it and yelled at that nurse. The second problem that occurred was the fact that they NEVER FINISHED IT MESSED UP. I went home after and couldnt sit down, let throwing up, was shaking in so much pain in my stomach area. My bf rushed me back and awake, the doctor there removed alot of blood that got stuck in the area. So either it wasnt finished the first procedure or they hurt part of my body inside which caused internal bleeding they had to suck out with a vaccume. Two days later I felt fine but I definetly could of died if I didnt go back that day, or as soon as I did. Lastly...they are ridiculous, no one wants 6 people talking to them when having surgery.If I am getting an abortion, this was my decision and I am most likely okay with it. **They just were alot more nervous then I was, and thats something they need to fix. They are the ones doing the procedure*.-Personal opinion: if you are Calm, tell them to relax and stop trying to talk to you besides just what they need from you.**+The second experience with a male doctor and two nurses...it was actually a better experience though! First one...I wish I cursed them out..+In general this place is very friendly and comfortable. Just, I would never get an abortion hear again...unless it was the pill and I can take it home..or I would tell them Im fine, Ive done this before just let this get done and leave me be.

Best doctor visit Ive almost ever had! She took her time to answe questions, made me super comfortable and my well womens exam was quick and painless!! Highly recommend.

Went here for the implant birth control, they were super nice and I was put in less then an hour. They also went in depth with me about how this form of b.c. works and the side effects. Very helpful and nice!

Thank you guys for being so supportive, patient and kind. I am feeling very blessed to have planned parenthood. please, anyone who is afraid to get tested or have a procedure- you dont need to be afraid. they are unbelievably kind and will take care of you.

Zero star .. I never saw a doctor so why does my paper work say so.. The nurse practitioner has such poor information and advice .. I am at woman and infants where they are treating me much nicer after this terrible expirence.. The people who work at planned parenthood should be ashamed of their lives how can they sleep at night ..basically forcing me to vacuums ..i am capable of making my own decisions

They have free condoms that is good to stop the overpopulation well is really clean and modern places. Thanks pph for the condoms.

Its a general health clinic, not just for women. Theyre super helpful and take almost all insurances. Definitely recommend, they have a wide range of services and nice office & medical staff

Worst experience ever. Wouldnt let me in with my fiance even after she asked. Staff was very rude and not accommodating to patient needs.
