Everybody was so welcoming 🥲 They offer many recourses and are truly there for you. If you are pregnant or have an infant/young toddler, they will help you out. Everybody there truly cares about what they do. They also accept donations!! If you have any extra baby stuff, this is the place to go to donate! Youll be helping mothers that need it.

Wakota has helped our family so much over the years - They have amazing staff as well as great resources for families. Catherine is always so kind and friendly, and always greets us at the front desk. Wakota provides free on site childcare when you’re there and my daughter absolutely loves it! She always asks when she can see “Mémé” (one of the beloved childcare workers). Wakota’s mom group with Kenyatta has been so encouraging and inspiring, it’s something I look forward to and I always remember Kenyatta’s wisdom as I go about my week after mom group. Wakota also has a free “store” where families can “shop” for maternity and baby items - as my kids outgrow things, we donate them to Wakota so other families can continue to get support. I highly recommend connecting with Wakota if you’re pregnant or have little ones

This is the best place for resources for low income house hold. I wasnt working at the time, needed help with emergency assistance because I was hospitalized for pregnancy complications. Betty was so kind and helpful, she never once judged me about my situation and went above and beyond to help me. She followed up with me even when the process took while with Craddle of Hope, she never left me on a cliff hanger. Even after helping me, she calls me to check up on me and give me other resources while Im in my 3rd trimester. Knowing that I was at a dead end financially, Im grateful that Guiding Star Wakota has been so generous with their resources. I plan on coming back here for their classes, diapers, and baby clothes after having my baby. Everyone here was so welcoming and Im glad that there are still good people in this world doing great things for the public. Betty is an awesome person!

This is not a real medical clinic so they don’t have to follow HIPAA and privacy regulations. They offer free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds (dating and fetal heart tones, not even a full anatomy scan) to lure women into the clinic. They are pro-life and will not provide info on abortions if one is wanted, and will often provide misinformation about abortions to scare the patient. If you want free to low-cost/sliding scale medical care by actual licensed clinicians, go to Planned Parenthood, Open Cities Health Center, Eastside Clinic, Westside Community Health Services, or United Family Medicine Clinic.

Just visited the new building! It is very nice and well-kept. Well-qualified staff (RN, MD, RDMS, etc.), and info on pregnancy & abortion straight from the MDH. They really want to help parents not only during pregnancy, but even for several years after to help them get into a better position for raising their children to adulthood. Would definitely recommend Wakota!

I came here to get a cheap std test because I didnt have insurance. It was kind of them to do it at a reduced rate, but there was more to the story. Even though I wasnt there for birth control and didnt express interest in it, I spent a good chunk of time listening to the doctor give me information on natural family planning. Thatsan option for some women, but its not the only birth control option. Yet, they pushed it and pushed it. Also, the nurse struggled to take my blood even after I directed her to a vain the red cross has taken blood from in the past. In the end, the doctor gave me a book about finding the one and healthy relationships. Actual advice from the book was to withhold sex to see if a man really loves you. My visit was a few years ago, and they probably do help women in need, but this place is a fake womens health center that is just pushing a pro life agenda under the guise of kindness and compassion for pregnant women in need. They claim they dont discriminate, but I felt judged and uncomfortable after I left. They gave me literature to reinforce their agenda when I just wanted std testing. If you go to a reputable clinic, you should not receive any biased information with a clear agenda. Doctors are only supposed to supply you with facts, not their own personal beliefs.

I see so many fake reviews and hatred towards a facility that wants to help women in need. People who works here are volunteers. Give them some respect.

I needed help and they do the most they can to make sure you get what you need and right before you have your baby they give you a care package that has new clothes and feeding stuff and others I cant remember, but then they also give a can of formula once a month if you need it and some diapers and wipes too.

Excellent help, very friendly staff, you receive many things for pregnant women and babies, this is more than just a package of diapers, they help you and listen to you. I recommend that if you have baby things that you no longer need, bring them as a donation. It will be very helpful for other moms.
