Mary Jane at this location literally has the magic. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed when my nerves were shot. She also made sure that I was informed and had the right knowledge when it comes to HIV and testing.

Every single time I get a prescription they take weeks to communicate with the insurance and pharmacy. I wasnt on my medication for months because they would continue to blame the pharmacy but the pharmacy would fax paperwork to the them multiple times and never get responses from them and then would close my rx. On top of that they are just unhelpful and unfriendly, they would say theyd call me back but never would whenever they needed an excuse to get off the phone and not be held accountable. Trans & NB people cant just go anywhere for healthcare and going here is so stressful and unreliable that its not worth it.

If i could leave 0 i would i bought a 1$ pregnancy test before days coming here and it was positive i get here and pay 20$ for it to be negative and it broke my heart when they said i wasnt pregnant so i to go to a free womans haven that does the job right to tell me i was actually pregnant thank you womans haven for your hard work get better planned parenthood

They were so nice & helped me when they really didn’t have to. Told me because my insurance wasn’t accepted I can go to another Planned Parenthood location where they can help get me a discount on my appointment based on my income! Without that advice I would’ve ended up paying a lot of money out of pocket. Thank you!

If I could leave ZERO stars I would!!! Please read!!! I have been to this location multiple times, with a SCHEDULED appointment, and I am always met with ridiculously long wait times. The shortest wait time I have had after arriving early for my SCHEDULED appointment was a little over 45 minutes. I have typically been met with anywhere from 1 hour to an hour and a half wait just to be taken back to a room, where I am still expected to wait for a doctor an additional 20+ minutes. Why even schedule patients if you do not plan on seeing them in a timely manner? This location is very close to my work which was very convenient for me, however, after multiple visits and always dealing with the same issues, I will definitely be switching. And I urge everyone to make sure you have at least 1.5-3 hours to waste if you plan on going to this location. I have gone to multiple planned parenthood’s over the years and this is by far the worse one I have ever been to. The front office staff is rude and does not care if you are waiting on urgent results, if you are experiencing a miscarriage, or anything they treat you as if you are beneath them. I will NOT be coming here, and I will be filing a formal complaint with the Texas Medical Board.

DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT HERE, YOU WILL WAIT FOR 45mins +!!!!! If I could give zero stars I would because I feel one star is way too generous. I went to this location to get an ultrasound. Never got it after waiting 1hr 10mins from my scheduled appointment time. I got there 10mins early, made sure all my paperwork was completed before even going, yet they still couldn’t get their stuff together. Several people walked in after me and went in almost immediately. Sarah at the front desk (brown hair, glasses) was incredibly rude. Never greeted me, mumbled under her mask (basically a whisper) and just seemed miserable. She should definitely find a job where she doesn’t have to be client/patient facing because she sucks at it. After waiting 30mins from my appointment time (9:30am) I went to the front to ask Sarah for an update politely. She replied “can you literally wait one second? They’re getting the room ready ”. I was shocked considering I had been patiently waiting for 30 mins. I continued to wait a saw two people go in and get taken care of. I made the appointment because I had to get childcare for my baby and take time off work. They did not care in the slightest. Despite my gut telling me to leave I stayed because I was excited go get my first ultrasound and see my baby. After having to ask a couple more times what was going on they finally let me in. The room was so dirty. I wish I got a pic but there was a stain on the floor that looked like poop or throw up. Splatter marks alllllllll over the bed frame. Gross!! I then waited ANOTHER 15 mins for the tech but at that point I was late to get my child and to get back to work. Luckily they gave me a refund (no way I was gonna pay $20 to just sit around for 1hr 30mins) but they did not care at all. These ladies had the worst attitudes. I have been going to and supporting planned parenthood’s since I was 16 and have never been treated this way. This location should be shut down because they are giving planned parenthood a bad name when it really doesn’t need it!! They don’t respect you, they don’t respect your time, and they obviously don’t respect what planned parenthood stands for. I could go on but to wrap it up: this place sucks, the staff sucks (especially Sarah at reception) and they deserve to be shut down. The building is nasty inside as are their attitudes. Please save yourself the time and stress and find another planned parenthood/clinic.I will also be reporting this location. It’s shocking they even allow appointments since they obviously don’t even follow them.Thanks for nothing!!!!!

The entire staff has always been extremely friendly and caring at this location! At my most recent visit, they were very reassuring and kind with how nervous I was with getting my nexplanon implant removed and the wonderful woman who did the procedure was gentle and kept me talking the whole time to distract my mind 😅 They were also able to help lower my out of pocket costs with financial aid, I just had to bring my two most recent pay stubs in to them aaaand I got to talk with the receptionist about our fave animes before I left! All around great experience with this location and I would highly recommend 🙏🏻

I went for a pregnancy test. It’s been 51 days that I didn’t have my period. I used the cheaper test strips at home and they showed 2 lines, but 1 was faint. Some tests were invalid, so I went to Planned Parenthood just to make sure if I was pregnant or not, and if I was, I also needed a proof of pregnancy to apply for insurance.The front desk lady helping me said I could choose between a urine and blood test. The blood test would let me know how far I was if I was pregnant, but she also said both tests would be accurate. She asked me when the first day of my last menstrual cycle was. After I told her the date, she said I might have missed some cycles already. Therefore, I felt comfortable going with the urine test as it was not early testing for me, so the result should be accurate. After waiting a few minutes, another lady came in and told me the result was negative. I told her about all the tests I used at home that showed 2 lines, 1 dark, 1 faint. She seemed very understanding and asked me if I would like her to try testing again. I told her I would really appreciate her doing that. She left the room, and some minutes later, the front desk lady came and talked to me. She said if I wanted to try again, it would cost another $20. I told her not to worry about it. I left, went to Walmart and got myself a First Response Test. It showed 2 clear lines under 1 minute of testing. I had my timer on to be sure I read the result within the time frame. I called Planned Parenthood and let her know about that. The lady told me I was given the blood test option also and I didn’t go with it. However, it was her who also said both test would be accurate. It’s perfectly fine for this place to offer clients a poor service and charge them for it.I don’t drink alcohol, so a false pregnancy test doesn’t really do any harm to the baby. Not that they seem to care about it anyway. I should have read the reviews. This wrong testing result has happened here. They would blame patients first thing. They were right. It was my fault that I went to a wrong place, and such places couldn’t be blamed for not having moral values.If you need a pregnancy confirmation, look up “Healthy Women’s Center”. They’re Baptist Health System. They have 6 locations in San Antonio. They offer free walk in pregnancy testing and also proof of pregnancy if you need. They will also help you apply for benefits like Medicaid or CHIP.

So I went there for a urine pregnancy test because I had gotten two positive digital test that I had took from home and if I got a positive from their test. The test came back negative on their part and then they asked me if I would be fine doing it again which I said yes because my test from home are clear blue which is 99% accurate they left for a little bit and came back and told me I got negative again this time they brought the test in the room to show me girlies it was one of those $.99 test that you would buy at H-E-B or Walmart now that’s my first problem paying $20 for y’all to do a urine test that’s a $.99 test that I could do from home and waste my time. My second problem is the manager she seemed like she was trying to make me look dumb for being concerned with my TWO POSITIVE by saying that my test could be two false negatives. I feel sorry for the girl that helped me because it was awkward after her manager repeatedly told me it was negative.So now imma go home and test. UPDATE I’m pregnant I don’t think you can get 7 false positive test also I did a $0.99 tests as well like they do and got a positive

I went to Planned Parenthood to have my old iud removed and a new one inserted. I had read some reviews on here before I went and I was very nervous about the whole procedure but the staff was very friendly and helped me feel calm. Dr. Silva was my doctor and she did an amazing job! She was very friendly, professional, and informative! The whole appointment went very smoothly and quickly. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for care!

Just had my yearly exam and IUD removed. All staff were very friendly and I felt safe and able to relax during my visit. I would advise you to do the online check in at least 30 minutes before, as it takes a few minutes. Definitely recommend this facility.

I called and spoke to two different woman when scheduling . I originally was hung up and when called back was direct with what it was I needed to get done . I was told that I would get my self pay estimate when I arrived because it was income based. The lady was rushed . She gave me the amount of visit and it was more expensive than the staff originally made it out to be and demanded the money up front . When I told the staff I could pay half they offered to reschedule until the full amount was paid. I understand that money was required, but the clarity in the expectation of cost would have been helpful in allowing me to make the decision to drive the 45 min drive to get here. This conversation could have been done over the phone with out the false hope of being seen today for care.

Long wait but - for me, at least - worth it. Ultimately, this is a Planned Parenthood operating in Texas, so I imagine that this contributes to their logistical struggles...but my experience with the doctors was excellent and for that Im grateful.As others have said, the wait was FAR longer than I expected. The procedure I had scheduled (IUD replacement) takes around five minutes. I was at the location for nearly three hours, most of it in the waiting room. The staff was very apologetic, and I was fortunate enough to be able to take a half day at work...but it would have been nice to know how much time it would be.The four stars reflect the care I received, which was ideal: This was my second IUD. I was dreading it since the placement of the first was so painful, but the doctors that saw me were very sensitive to my concerns and really made an effort to keep me calm and completely appraised of what was happening. I think that anyone who has been through a pelvic exam can understand why this alone is worth four stars.Apparently the second placement is often less painful than the first, and I came prepared (on my period and with 800mg of ibuprofen in me)....but I experienced only minimal pain both during and after the procedure, which was a pleasant surprise. I wouldnt hesitate to return to this location again despite the wait.So, dont let the strip-mall location or long wait-time put you off....just plan accordingly (maybe get a very early-day appointment?) and bring a book or headphones (theres guest WiFi at this location).

I was worried at first because the reviews varied from great to horrible; but the front desk receptionist (Leonor) was very kind on the phone and understanding about my concerns. I just had my appointment a few hours ago.I told them I would leave a review and thats what Im doing. They were extremely helpful. I went in for an HRT consultation (including a blood test); Leonor checked me in, and Laura (the consultant) was very professional, respectful, and helpful.She was very understanding and shared her thoughts on the matter, answered any and all questions I had, and told me when I would be getting my prescription. She also looked at prices for me.Now, I cant speak for everyone but its important to leave a good review when people in the service industry do a good job, and they did an excellent job for me.I was warned, do *not* be late to your appointment. I did a pre-check in the morning of (on my phone) and arrived 15 minutes early. There were absolutely no issues with my appointment being on time.Thank you Leonor, and thank you Laura, especially.

I went in to do blood work and the lady in the front that checked me in was so rude. When I walked in I greeted her with a hi and she just stared back at me with a blank face. No greet back or how can I help you. She seemed upset that she even had to speak to me and seemed bothered that I was there as If I was a bother to her time. I asked her if I was bothering her and her faced turned red and she then tried to change her character and sound happier about her job.

This may be the best experience Ive had with a health care provider. There was Receptionist was nice, I filled out my paperwork and waited. I waited a little over an hour until they called me. Thats the only negative part and it wasnt too big of a deal. I was nervous because of the exam. The nurse practitioner was so friendly, non-judgmental, and made me feel so comfortable! She explained everything to me, gave me plenty of options for birth control, and was very patient with all my questions about the prescriptions. For a womens health appointment, it was a great experience.

Very kind and very professional team. They answered all my questions and made me feel welcome at every step. I came in early for my appointment and got in with almost no wait time at all. I will definitely be returning here for future appointments.

Initially had an appointment at the San Pedro location but needed to reschedule & they fit me in here. I had my IUD removed and honestly THANK YOU! Laura is so personable and amazing and Ive never been happier with this. They dont pry and they have your back. People say what they want about Planned Parenthood but it really is a good place. Thank you for everything! ❤

Staff made me feel so comfortable and felt like a very homey environment. They kept me well informed and cared about my privacy. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who will need it. They are quick and care so much about their patients and kept me informed about birth control and what my specific one would entail!

They were very friendly while getting me scheduled and during my visit. It all went downhill after that. They were not equipped to check into what my problem was which wouldve been nice to know ahead of time. It was also rather pricey for the sevices rendered. I was given a referral to get proper care but Ive been calling for 2 days now trying to get them to actually send in the referral. Ive been placed in hold, spoken very poorly to and hung up on over and over. I presented to them in considerable pain and I still am but cant get in the the doctor I was referred to for help due to the negligence if this facility.

Everyone was very kind, sweet, and answered all my questions that I had! I made an appointment with the very nice front desk lady over the phone. I thought ahead of time just in case I had to fill out any paper work. I came at least 10-15 minutes early and had a very amazing experience here. Thank you to all the staff for all your hard work during our COVID-19 pandemic and please stay safe!

I was told my appointment cost was income based and they couldn’t tell me how much it was over the phone. Instead I had to waste time and come to the office and figure it out. They initially wanted a ton of money and I explained I just moved here to live with family, I have no income and I’m just needing a routine exam. They wanted almost $400 and told me basically everything that would normally be included anywhere else was extra. I asked if they could fill my prescription at my pharmacy so I didn’t have to pay out of pocket, apparently not. Well I get the cost down a little bit even with 0 income and 2 dependents at the moment, then I’m crying asking friends and family for money on the phone because i need to get checked out, I go to pay and the lady at the desk had the audacity to ask me for a donation. There is no compassion here regardless of your situation. These people need to understand we come to them in most tough times of our lives. I thought planned parenthood was meant to help women who struggle but it appears not. This is shameful.

So the staff here are very kind, however seem to neglect individuals. My first visit was planned to go over some strange symptoms I was experiencing. Before I was even able to bring it up with the doctor, she has prescribed me birth control, which I was not intending on making that decision that day, and tried to put me on severe antidepressants that was eventually passed up because of another unrelated symptom that I was not there for. The doctor had told me to go home and try the birth control and come back if my symptoms persist. Well, turns out I had a stringless tampon stuck inside of me for MONTHS. It was disgusting. Im glad I discovered it myself, but just knowing it was in there for at least a month after my initial visit when I was already having symptoms of a bacterial infection was so heartbreaking to me. The doctor had good intentions, but I feel as if she did listen to what I said was happening with my body. Also, getting a hold of them on the phone or email is very rare. Ive called 3 times the last 2 days just to see if I can pick up my prescription, to be hung up every time by the answering machine.

Put in my iud wrong. I had to get it rekey out 3 days later because of how much pain I was in.

The ladies here were so sweet and patient with my nervous self. My procedure to have my birth control removed was painless and so much smoother than I had anticipated. The office could use a lil remodel cause it’s a little sterile and scary but the staff made up for it.

The Tech that removed my Birth control in my arm was amazing. and great But I needed a work Excuse and forgot to get on DOS, Called in to see about getting it faxed or emailed since I live In New Braunfels and the location is in SA, I would have to take time off of work again to go pick it up. I explained this and they still refused to give me the form. Will never go to a planned parenthood again.I paid Self pay for my appt which was a total of $315. but I cant even get a work notice emailed or fax to me I would have to loss more money by taking off more time to go and drive 45 mins there and another 45 mins back to get it.On top of that I was one hour early for my appt and was standing outside with the Extern they had 15 mins before they unlocked the doors but someone Zoomed in front of me while entering and they asked me to wait even though this woman did not have her mask and had to run back out to her car to get it. then they told me to sit down while they took care of the two women behind me in line... to many things that just dont make it worth it to get services done there.

I live in Austin now but since the pandemic it seems there is no availability for any of the clinics located here. I decided to travel for an appointment here and it had the time and services I was looking for. Honestly made my life so much easier by coming here. The process was efficient and the staff was super nice and welcoming. Please just be sure to check in beforehand that way you don’t have to waste time when you get there.

I have been here for 3 hours past my appointment time and still have not been seen and just wanted to get a prescription for birth control. I have been told 3 different prices that I was going to be charged and have not even received an apology for how long it has taken just an excuse about a slow nurse. They are unorganized and rude. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt after reading all of the many poor reviews on here but they have turned out to be reflective of my experience. Save your time and find somewhere else to go

The staff here were all very nice and welcoming and were knowledgable, I waited about 20 minutes for my appointment and from there it went pretty quickly. I give three stars because after my appointment was done my doctor told me to sit and wait for my prescription, I waited a half hour before asking the front desk what was taking so long and she told me they had already sent it electronically so I didnt need to be waiting at all. Otherwise It was clean and the staff was nice.

The location was a bit sketchy, buy they were the ones that could get me in fastest. It was fairly fast and easy to get an IUD, but they obviously werent as personable as your standard OBGYN.Overall, the services are great.

Visiting family in SA and made an appointment since the services I need run $400 in my city. Planned Parenthood set me up with $105... I dont qualify for free care through the government since I make too much at $1k a month and dont have any insurance. I got a lovely doctor/nurse who was great to talk with, very friendly, and answered all my questions! Definitely worth the ride to San Antonio to get affordable care!EDIT:It took six attempts for the lady on the phone to sort out if my prescription was sent to the pharmacy yet and I ended up having to call all of the pharmacies in the area to find out which one received it... A hassle but not too terrible.

I had an appointment at 11:00 am; it is now 1:00. Im still in the waiting room and I think my toes are about to fall off because its so cold. Numerous people who came in after me have already been admitted before me, and all I have to do is pick up my prescription. Front desk lady is pleasant though.

I made appointment here and I waited about ahour . I waited a hour just to be told I didn’t have appointment! I don’t have a car to get back and forth so to be let down about it and having no ride back was a big problem . Very upsetting I had a UTI and they couldn’t just let me pay for the medicine for it . I will never go back to this location . Ladies in the front made me feel very unwelcome !

Not the best experience. I am here with my boyfriend and am astounded that I am not allowed to go into the back with him. I have never been to a doctors office that didnt allow someone to accompany the patient for support! And support is sometimes a VERY much needed thing in basically any situation you could possibly go to Planned Parenthood for. Sometimes people get anxiety in Drs offices, and if you cared about the mental health of patients, you would understand. So that policy or whatever thats in place that prevents that should be done away with. It is outrageous.

This was a truly disappointing experience in womens health. I dont like leaving bad reviews, but I want to save somebody from experiencing this. Hands down, my worst experience with Planned Parenthood. Dr. Johnson spent all of 30 seconds with me during the two times I went there. Not gentle at all. I have never had a speculum so violently shoved into me before that I visible cringed. When it came time to pick up my prescription, my pharmacy had not received anything. It took 3 or 4 days and multiple phone calls to get my medicine. When I went back 3 weeks later, I tried telling the doctor that I believe it was something more complicated than what she had diagnosed, but she did not listen to me AT ALL. I could tell she was in a rush because I asked for a BC consult as well (due to concerns about things interacting with my mental health). She cut me off mid sentence and told me she was gonna renew my prescription for Trinessa (which I have NEVER taken). She also proceeded to tell me that my periods would be less irregular if I lost weight...without ever discussing my medical history. My periods were actually regular when I weighed 40 lbs more and my cycle changed after a pretty horrific back injury. Her lack of concern or empathy was enough that I vowed never to come back after that experience.The icing on the cake is that I found a truly amazing gynecologist elsewhere who discovered I was treating the wrong thing/overmedicating. One day into my meds and I feel 1000% better.Please do not waste your time at this location. There are far better PPs out there who show concern for their patients.

Just went to this planned parenthood for a confirmation pregnancy test. They told me my test was negative, went back home and took more tests that turned up positive of course. Didn’t even say maybe come back to test or take a blood test. All the lady said was that they’re pretty accurate. What if I would’ve took that negative and ran with it? What if I would’ve went out and drank that same day thinking I wasn’t pregnant. Definitely don’t recommend this place

None of the nurses could find my vein to draw blood, but they only tried twice. I was there from 4 to 5:30 pm because they just left me waiting since nobody wanted to attempt drawing blood again.

So my wife went in just to get a annual check up. And brianna helped us out. She was very professional and nice! The whole staff was very amazing and welcoming. We shall be definitely be coming back in the near future.

DO NOT COME HERE, they literally could not care less about you. I was 3 minutes late to my afternoon appointment and they would not see me. Now I’m stuck in a situation where I cannot afford an emergency room, but am risking my life due to IUD issues. I hope the people who work here rot in hell.

I’ve come here a few times for my birth control shot and it’s always been a great experience. The staff is super nice and helpful and I never have much of a wait after checking in for my appointment.

If I could have the option to give this place negative stars on the review then I would. This was hands down the worst most unprofessional place I have ever been to. First of all the Lady at the front seat was browsing the Internet for clothes and was not even looking at me when she was talking to me, didnt even greet me when I walked through the door. Second, they told me to pee in a cup in a bathroom with no freaking light!!!! She said the light is broken so just try to do the best you can. So I had to pee in a cup while trying to hold my damn cell phone light to make sure I didnt piss all over the place. After that ordeal I was shown to a room where I had to wait for a while before the dr came in. She finally came to the door about 20 minutes later, didnt even walk all the way in the room, just stood in the doorway with the door half opened and asked me what I needed. She was very rude and I will definitely never come back here again!!!

I dont know if anyone else experience the same problem.But i call to schedule an appointment and same day I set up a portal to keep updated.I call to confirm my appointment a day before and the said apparently I was a no call no show. So I said okay my mistake let me reschedule a week from now, keep in mind I always write down my appointments which I found the call a little weird. Next day I checked my portal and It said no upcoming appointments so I called to verified and they say it keeps showing no call no show. I said well thats weird because I scheduled a week from now and she said she couldnt understand me and cut me off. All I can say unprofessional.

Too too long of a wait ridiculous don’t schedule people for a time that YOU can’t do. do it right or don’t do it at all. my appointment was @3 for a shot.. a shot and i got seen an hour later :/ very disappointed

The best experience Ive had at an OBGYN.The doctor LISTENED to my issues, clearly explained what was going on and didnt pass an ounce of judgment. The front staff are very kind and there to help. Highly recommend this location!

One of the worst healthcare facilities Ive been to. Expect to be greeted by a rude and distracted receptionist, wait at LEAST an hour (maybe even 2) past your appointment time to be called, and then sit in one of the back rooms for another 30 minutes before one of the ladies remembers that you exist.

One of the best planned parenthood I’ve gone to! I literally avoided going to one for years cause I’ve had a few bad experience with other ones in the past but I needed to take my nexplanon out that was wayyyyyy over due and everyone was super helpful with all and any questions I had, staff was super nice, professional and it was a quick process.

This is hands down the WORST place I’ve ever been to in my entire life. I went in for a Pap smear and overall the place is short staff, slow, and unprofessional. Not to mention they don’t keep the place sanitary. Tonie don’t believe her when she gives you an estimate on everything you tell her you want before going to the back and don’t expect any type of professionalism from Dian the manager. I regret going here and i wasted three hours here that’ll never get back!

Staff is very helpful and considerate and got me a discounted price on prescriptions. Never had a problem with wait times, I guess it depends on when their busy hours are.

The ladies were SOOO nice. I was nervous about getting my implant and they made me feel so much better about everything. Super nice and super gentle.

I’m not sure if it’s this location but there was one by the wic clinic and that location the np or whoever she was mean and rude I never want to go to those places again this was like 4 years ago it was a horrible experience. Don’t remember her name but I should of reported it

I had a great experience with my visit! Doctor was super helpful and not mention very friendly answered all of my questions and concerns! I didnt wait too long either! Staff attend me accordingly ☺👍

These ppl that work here are rude as hell! All of them, not just 1, ALL. Went one time and will never come back again and Ive been going to PP for the last 3 years. To say Im paying out of pocket you would think these rude freaking ppl would be much more friendly. WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN.

Worst service ever appt was at 10am was on time didnt even get seen until after 12pm definitely need some processes streamlined at this location. Staff has bad attitude and is rude. Would not recommend this location to my worst enemy.

Be prepared to be here 2-3 hours...even with appointment. Receptioninst was rude. Doctor was nice.

I thought it was planned PARENTHOOD not planned MOTHERHOOD

Its rediculous that planned parent hood charges more then your doctor especially when you have no insurance medicaid or an income
