Total Mens Primary Care - Potranco

Went in today for an annual exam not knowing what to expect. Everyone was very kind and I was in and out in less than 30 min. Which is unheard of when having to go to the doctors. Plus this is only 5 min away from my home. Over all this was a wonderful experience.

Total Men’s Care @ the Potranco office was very accommodating! I was not able to go to my normal office (which is also fantastic) and placed a call to them for a walk in. They saw me immediately and were very friendly and professional. Thanks guys! Came through in a pinch!

Brand new Patient and my experience was awesome! I was checked in fast with a very friendly staff all around! They did not have me waiting I was in and out (roughly 30 mins) please fellas if your looking for something catered to men this is the spot!

Went in for the first time for annual exam, had to reschedule twice and was still treated with please. Appointment was fast but efficient, great for someone like me who dreads dr visits. Communication is great too. They will answer in a timely manner. Top of the line office too.

I received my annual check up here. The facilities are clean and everyone was very courteous and professional. The NP was very thorough during the examination, gathered all of my medical history, took the time to answer all of my questions. Highly recommend.

Walked in to get some blood work. Super friendly staff, nice new clean office and was in and out within 10 to 15 minutes. Potranco and Sonterra locations have both been great!

This clinic quoted me the wrong price for the weight loss program, and then tried to back charge me for multiple clinic visits.Monthly clinic visits are required in order to receive your GLP-1 meds, but these visits are $159 per visit, in addition to the $400/month cost of the weight loss program.It’s a bait and switch tactic to scam extra money from you, after you’ve become heavily invested in the ramp up GLP-1 drugs require. Basically, if you don’t pay this extra money, that you didn’t sign up for, we’ll hold your meds hostage. It preys on people’s desperation to lose weight, and it’s a terrible business practice.

Im writing to caution others about my experience with Total Primary Care, which has been far from satisfactory. Despite initially hoping for quality care, I encountered numerous issues that left me frustrated and disappointed.One major problem I faced was their billing practices. Despite being told my annual physical was free, I was blindsided with a $70 charge for follow-up appointments to discuss my test results. I firmly believe that getting these results is a vital part of the process, and its outrageous to be charged extra for them.Trying to sort out these billing issues with Total Primary Care was a nightmare. They rarely returned my calls, and when they did, their explanations were vague and unhelpful. This lack of transparency wasted my time and made me feel like they didnt value me as a patient.To make matters worse, when I tried to refill my prescription, I was denied. When I asked why, I was met with a dismissive response that showed they didnt understand or care about my situation.Overall, my experience with Total Primary Care was deeply disappointing. Their shady billing practices, poor communication, and disregard for patient needs make it impossible for me to recommend them to others.

Visit was good. All my questions were answered and discussed thoroughly. The staff are very friendly.

I have been a patient with Total Primary Care since August 2023. Last 2 visits upon check in I have been told I have a balance due. Last month it was $72 and today it was $19. I asked the tech at the check in for an explanation and she was not able to provide me with one. She said she did not work in billing and did not know. I asked for a itemized receipts of all my visits and what was charged to insurance and balances left over. She did give me some printouts but when asked for clarification she was not able to explain.She referred me to the billing department and gave me their number. I told her I had already left a message over 2 weeks ago and no one has called me back. I asked for a patient rep but they dont have one. I asked for the office manager but she said she was a busy person and she would forward my number to her apparently the office managers home location is 8n Austin so who knows when she will contact me to get this sorted. Needless to say I did not pay balance of $19 today because they failed to explain why and as a result did not get my blood drawn.Terrible customer service and dismissive attitude at the front desk is the reason they earned the 2 Star rating.Update Jan 9thCalled the billing department 4 times yesterday and left voicemail. No callback from them or the office manager.2nd UpdateAfter calling the billing department a couple of times yesterday without anyone picking up I decided to call back to the Potranco location to see if there was a back channel number to the billing department. My call to the office was answered by an automated system with a couple of different selections and the very last prompt is to connect to the billing office. Just out of curiosity I selected that prompt and after a few rings someone actually answered from the billing department.After reviewing all of the charges things did get sorted out. I wish I didnt have to go through all of the hassle to get a couple of simple questions answered.

I would highly recommend this clinic to ANYONE! The staff was really nice, respectful, friendly, very knowledgeable and took care of you in a very timely manner. Awesome staff and very convenient location with plenty of parking which is always a plus for me.

First off, as soon as I walked in staff was very kind and quick to assist. While I’m waiting room, everything was clean organized and stocked with snacks and drinks. I went in for an annual physical and both the nurse and doctor were informative and did not mind answering any of my questions. I scheduled another appointment a week out to go over my results, but I was even able to see them only 2 days later in my patient portal, so I am prepared for my next appointment. Overall this visit was quick easy and I will be returning for future visits.

My wife made me an appointment here because it was close to home but no matter how convenient I will never go back. I went for a yearly check up which included blood work, during the appointment the doctor was laughing while asking me questions which I thought was a bit strange. Then they called back with my blood work they told me I had some numbers that were high and she flat out told me “you need to work out,” I told her I actually work out everyday and she just laughed. I’m not sure what’s going on but this place is just a waste of time, get yourself a doctor who is professional and takes your health into consideration.

The staff was completely focused on my visit. They were very attentive to my health and treatments. The nurse practitioner I was seen by was very tuned into my issues and treatment. 100% will be my primary care.

This was one of the only places I could find for an annual physical within the same month, and scheduling was easy. I was sent a link for registration online and when I arrived for my appointment there was absolutely no paperwork to fill out. Great process. I was seen immediately, and everyone on the staff was nice and welcoming. I was out of my appointment with all questions answered in less than an hour from when it started. Highly recommend!

Great experience. Very punctual. Waited less than 10 minutes to get taken back for initial screening. Then less than 5 minutes for Dr. Alex to come in. She listened well to my concerns and started me on a plan. Total time taken was less than 30 minutes. Such a huge change from my previous family practice.This may not seem like a big deal, but I appreciated the fact they were not all masked up. This gives me assurance they are not living in fear. Everyone was courteous.

I needed a Primary Care Physician from San Antonio Texas for a Dermatology referral. Total Mens Primarary Care met my needs and got me the referral I needed in a timely matter. The staff were all helpful from the receptionist, the nurse taking my vitals to the P A that seen me. All of them were courteous and concerned about my medical condition.

First time there , the staff were very nice and it was so far a good experience.

I have been a patient for several years, and the service has noticeably declined. Today, I visited as a walk-in, following the sign that reads, Just walk in. When I requested a COVID test, the receptionist informed me that the doctor, who is pregnant, didn’t want to risk exposure and suggested I go home and take cough medicine instead and wait it out! 😳. I explained that I have a child with a medical condition and need to inform my workplace if I’m contagious. Without even looking up from her computer, she simply replied, Then go buy a test. Went in for an annual checkup and was seen right away with no wait. Both the assistant and NP were very nice and great listeners. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.

Where to begin. The front desk girls are super friendly and create a great atmosphere. The nurse that did my vitals was very direct and to the point. Very good at her job. The NP Alex was beautiful and very down to earth. She answered all my questions and pretty sold me on why I’m going to use total men’s as my new PCP. 5 stars no doubt.

An amazing environment, all of my concerns were heard, with no judgment. And all of my questions were answered.

Finally a no nonsense Healthcare team. Came in for yearly physical and first time patient. Filled out paperwork ahead of time on the portal.Appointment time was at noon. By 12:30 I was completely done with a followup appointment already scheduled. I can get used to this.

I would like to say, yes staff is nice, plus you are seen right away. However I had a not so good experience. I was misdiagnosed by a ‘Dr’ here which I believed cause I trusted them that their diagnosis was correct. I had a lump in my back and the doctor tells me, oh that’s superficial, I wouldn’t worry about it’ I say you have muscle spasms and prescribed me muscle relaxers and I was on my way. Onward a few weeks that lump gets infected so I go to another doctors office, we’ll, turns out I had a cyst. So I got the condition taken care of. Instead of listening to patients they try to get you out fast so they can see the next patient. I will not recommend this place, and to think this place was recommended by someone else.

Terrible customer service. I came in this morning and found out my insurance was inactive. I then spent 15 minutes on the phone with insurance getting it resolved. The lady on the phone told the staff that I was good and am insured but it could take a couple of hours to update in the system. They refused to see me even after hearing the lady say that I am covered. They wanted me to reschedule. This place is trash. I won’t be coming back…front desk lady was nice and apologetic. It was the other people that sucked. 👎🏻👎🏻

Only visited this doctors office once so far but the first visit was quite nice. They offered me water and snacks. The girl that took my blood was extremely nice and good at her job and very friendly. No pain

Setup an appointment based on the recommendation of a friend, plus they are just down the street from me. Making appointment was simple via their website. Everyone was extremely friendly and they genuinely listened and seem to care about me as a patient. I highly recommend!

I was looking for a new PCP closer to my house and saw this place just opened. Scheduling an appointment and confirming how things would work with my insurance was VERY easy (just 1 phone call) I even had a conflict and they were super and easy allowed me to reschedule with no fees/ hassel. When I finally went in they were quick and attentive. What I loved most was I felt they really wanted to help me vs try and Schedule a bunch of unnecessary appointments just to get a copay. Their Portal also makes it easy to work with my doctor and keep up with my history. Im glad I found them early and STRONGLY RECOMMEND them

The whole experience was great. I arrived right at my appointment time.It didnt take more than 5 minutes in the waiting area. The staff was very nice. The person that saw me was Ryan. He was very thorough and listened to my concerns. Thanks for making the experience easy.

Was fast to set up an appointment online, super user friendly. They sent updates for time as well as the first time patient paperwork via text, which streamlined the whole experience making it super simple. Then to top it all off they made sure I had water since I seemed slightly dehydrated, really looking out for their patients and felt like I wasnt just another pay stub from insurance companies.

Edit: I’m still paying for this appointment that was “covered by my insurance”. I specifically asked about the price for each service and if they would be covered. I get that they don’t work for the insurance company, but there has to be a way to know what financial hole you’re digging before committing to a service. I was very upfront about wanting to know what costs I would be responsible, and they simply told me “you’ll pay $20 for the extra test today and everything else is covered by your insurance”. Oh if only that were the case. I don’t even know what questions you have to ask to get the real answer on how much they’re going to demand from you at a later date, but I wish I could go to a doctor and get honest answers about billing instead of these surprise crippling bills after being told it was covered by insurance.The staff was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s been a while since I’ve been anywhere in San Antonio that puts a premium on customer service. I showed up early assuming I would have a ton of paperwork to fill out and a lengthy wait. They had me out of there before my scheduled appointment even started. Having snacks and drinks was a nice touch too.

I was in and out quickly staff was very friendly and healthy and helpful. They had complementary sparkling water and Gatorade’s so that’s a good sign when you walk in.

Men BEWARE of this health care provider!! This place is a very unprofessional business!’ Don’t let the name of the place deceive you!! I felt like I was catered toward testosterone hormone treatment that was very inconvenient due to their hours and being limited to only one facility. They also didn’t bill my insurance correctly causing issues with my deductible that was already paid. Good luck getting them to call you back. I’m still waiting for a call back after several calls and voicemail’s requesting calls back to fix my billing. I got a new doctor that cares!

Very welcomed by young lady at Front desk. Doctor and staff very thorough and prescribed the necessary items to correct my sinus infection. Had to get a shot and young lady made it painless. Met with NP Polanco. Everything went smooth. I filled everything out electronically which was outstanding. I was a new patient and didn’t have to fill out anything when I was there. If you are a new patient fill out everything prior. Easy in and out appointment.**Update their customer service made a drastic decline. I have called and left voice messages and I will not get a return call. I had to go to their chat system which surprisingly they responded. They used to be outstanding on responding. But no more.**

Loved the small clinic size first of all but also friendly staff and pleased wellness checkAm one of those guys where i kind of wont ever go except for my wife telling me to. However i did feel like going with them was the right choice and not a family practice where I’ve gone before and felt like i was just rushed through a exam. I visited Total Men Primary Care today to check my blood pressure and the customer service was impeccable from the checkin to meeting my provider Alex.The entire staff was very nice and made me feel very comfortable during my visit. Naturally, I have anxiety going to any healthcare facility but I can proudly say that Total Men’s Primary Care now have a loyal patient.

I havent been to a doctors visit in a long while but I will say this is the nicest and quickest office Ive ever been to. The staff is very nice and cant wait to be back for any health concerns I have!

After having long waits and problems at my primary care doctor, I found this place. I really needed to get checked out, and this clinic was great. Setting up the appointment online was easy, and the employee at counter was friendly as soon as I entered. My visit was smooth all the way through unlike my old doctors office. I will return.

Went in for a yearly checkup. They were very professional and thorough. I was called back from the waiting room within a couple of minutes of my scheduled appointment time. The complimentary snacks were nice also.

Great experience! I was a walk in near the end of the day. Even though I didn’t have an appointment, the friendly staff registered me and I was seen in under 15 minutes. Even the wait in the room was short…5 minutes tops. The doctor was efficient and thorough!

I recently moved to this practice as my PCP. The staff is always welcoming and willing to answer questions. The practitioners are through, timely and ensure you are well informed of your care plan and how to continue to build on healthy habits.

Would highly recommend this location for anyone trying to find a PCP. The service and overall experience was phenomenal. The paperwork you fill out over the phone took no more than 5-10 minutes. After the nurse calls you up to do vitals and do the medical questions, the CNP was in the room to speak to you in under 2 minutes. A plus to this place is the complimentary snack area!

I went to this facility today and was totally impressed with the customer service, the professionalism of the technicians and how I was in and out of there so quickly after being told at other facilities it could be a five to six hour wait…….for a COVID test. From walking in the door, I was greeted with a warm friendly smile and assistance to get myself checked in. The technician explained everything she would be doing to conduct the test, was extremely gentle and very professional. I would definitely recommend this facility as a top notch place to be treated or get COVID testing.

Unlike most doctors offices, my wait time was minimal, seen right away and staff was friendly and responsive. Facilities were clean and everything was done in an expedient manner, already booked my follow up.

I scheduled a same day appointment and I was seen within 5 minutes of arrival. The staff was very educated when it came to any questions I had and they took great care of me during my visit. The CNP was extremely nice and personable. He made you feel comfortable being in the clinic as a patient. He also took extra time to listen to my issues and be honest about solutions. I didn’t feel like I was rushed along. I would recommend to any man needing any thing medically.

The medical team listened to all of my ailments and made me feel like I mattered. Im very picky when it comes to finding a good Primary and Im glad I took a chance with TMPC. I highly recommend giving TMPC an opportunity to take care of you with the utmost respect and professionalism.

Great experience! I havent been to the doctor for a check up in a while. It felt nice to get back on track and start to take my health seriously. Everything I experienced was good. From the friendly people to the registration, I was pleasantly suprised!

Just moved from another state, needed a primary physician for the first time in like 20 years. Everyone was super courteous and very knowledgable. They even politely listened to my ramble about the problems my wife and I have experienced since moving here. Wonderful experience would recommend!!

Nice clean facility! Welcoming staff and was immediately seen. Not a long wait at all. From checking in to leaving it was under 30 minutes. Doctor was nice and informative. Definitely will be returning in the future.

I was on a time crunch I totally forgot in order for me to gain entry to a concert in San Antonio, I needed a Covid test showing that I was negative.We recently moved to New Braunfels, I was panicking, my wife went online and scheduled an appointment for me, she said it was easy to schedule letting me know they had 2 locationand the available times. She indicated that there is a charge which i was okay with she also said they accept insurance so i took my card.So the race was on while driving I received a text notification from them within 20 mintues prior to my appointment as a reminder. As I walked in I was greeted with a smile and a hello even when the receptionist was on a call I thought that was great customer service. I was expecting to be waiting around for a while filling out papers, instead she asked if I had a phone and can scan a barcode. It was quick and easy with a few simple questions and taking picture of my insurance card and ID Card. Less then a minute passed and the I was greeted again asking if I was ready to go to the back it was quick. TheyWere going to email me the results. I asked if I can get a printed copy they said sure that was not a problem. They asked if I wanted to have a seat in the front where I was greeted with complenty assortment snacks and beverages. Before I could finish my snack my result were done and printer out. I was in and out of there within 20 minutes. With time to spare I asked what other services they offer and she explained in detail how it works. I look forward to visiting them in the near future in the New Braunfels location.

My visit was very pleasant. I was welcomed. Wait was short. The staff were very friendly and asked all the right questions that wouldnt occur to me. Im happy I made the right choice with my medical needs.

I was therefor a covid test, booking the appointment online was quick and easy. I was seen at my appointment time. Staff was very welcoming, friendly, and took care of me quickly. They also had an area with water, coffee and snacks. Highly recommend!

Was able to get a COVID Rapid Test appointment the next day and the results were received within 20 minutes. The office is clean and sleek and the receptionist was very helpful and prompt. Highly recommend!

Scheduled an appointment, was nervous so I showed up early, they saw me and made me felt at ease about my situation, took samples and I was out the door, very friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend this place

It started off bad and ended worse. At my first appointment, I was not seen for 45 minutes past my scheduled time. They said it was because of insurance verification which is completely a lie since I had already completed all info and insurance steps days prior online. Then it went on to stuffing 6-8 people into a small waiting room some with some heavily symptomatic people looking to get tested for COVID while others are there for a completely different reason. They probably were the cause of more covid cases than the amount of positive tests they collected. It eventually evolved into them no longer responding via the Patient Portal they brag about using so well. Much more credible and established health care providers too close to this one for customers to accept their incompetence.

Overall experience was great. Appointment scheduling was fast and easy. The facility was very clean and the staff were friendly. Would definitely come back.

The entire process was super easy and convenient. The days of avoiding the hassle of dealing with issues and going to the doctor are over. Everything you need is on the app and the people there are very easy to get along with. It felt more like talking with a buddy than a doctor.

This practice was amazing, from the front office staff, nurses and the doctors.They were all very courteous, attentive, polite and respectful. I will most definitely be returning and making them my primary. I recommend them to all you men who need a doctor or location to call your PCP home.

Very easy to make my appointment, I was able to fill out paperwork before I arrived. They saw me on time based on my appointment, so no having to wait past that.

It was a nice visit. The pre-text stating to the left of UPS was helpful. GPS does not know where you guys are exactly. Quite, clean and the busy staff addressed me right away. NP was friendly and seemed determined to help.

It was a great experience from the minute walking in with front staff and was taken back to see Nurse Practitioner quickly the place was very clean and staff was very personable overall very pleased.

My husband was the patient and wasn’t pleased with his experience. He wishes he could give a review on NP Hazlewood but that is not who examined him. Appointment was scheduled through Zocdoc with NP Hazlewood but wasn’t examined by him. He stated it started good when the medical assistant brought him back for his vitals and to gather information on his health and ailments. She seemed to focus on what he was saying and try to gather as much info as she could for the NP. The NP seemed to be in a rush to go home and just wanted to push meds on him not actually get to the root of the issue. Doesn’t know exactly what steps he should take next so he is going to look for another doctor. On a good note everyone there at that office was really nice.

Great experience overall experience, very friendly staff from the front desk to the physician.Very fast, I was in and out as a walk-in, clean facility, and to top it all off they had free snacks and drinks.Would definitely recommend this clinic.

I called on Friday got an appointment for he following Monday. They even had chips for my toddler while we waited. Did my labs in house didnt have drive out somewhere to get blood pulled. So yeah they exceeded my expectations.

Great place to go and get checked. Fast check in and little to no wait time to get into a visit/check-in room...there is one like this one closer to my house, but is missing some equipment to fully function... the office is not really in the corner as google maps says it is. Is to the right of the HEB store within the same parking lot.

I called twice to schedule an appointment for new clients. Office staff could not verfiy my insurance and told me to call my insurance to verfiy even though I asked them to call. My insurance called twice and the office did not answer the phone. I found it strange they would not call even though I had the insurance info available. I understand not being in network, but not even try to help and put it back on me was not helpful. O well I guess they didnt need my business anyway.

Staff was great! I arrived a bit early and they were able to see me right away. Both times Ive been there Ive been in and out quickly.

I had an appointment today to establish primary care. Staff is really nice and very quick, the NP is very thorough and takes time to listen to you as a person not a number.

The staff at the front are very polite. The nurse was also kind and helpful. The doctor was caring, listened to my concerns and helpful.

If possible I would leave zero stars. Worst experience at a doctors office I’ve had. rushed through the visit and was left with a $100 co-pay and no plan or solution to what I came in for. Complete lack of empathy from the staff. Do not recommend this place at all.

This was my first visit to TMPC and I was very impressed by the speed at which I was seen. The Medical Assistant and Provider were both excellently pleasant, well mannered, and conversable with a wholesome sense of humor. It was very clear they maintained the facility with care, just like they handled patients; the rooms and lobby were tidy, organized, and felt inviting. I didnt see any spider webs or dust which is something I value highly in a health facility such as this. The array of refreshments offered ranged from water to LaCroix , trail mix to granola bars, coffee and other refreshments and left me, with lack of a better word.... Quite refreshed! The depth at which the Provider discussed my care was adequate, and I was satisfied with all answers to my questions. There were many opportunities to sanitize my hands and both professionals I spoke with wore face-masks. I plan to return with other issues, and for general checkups. Thank you TMPC team.

Making an Appointment - 5 Stars. Quality of Provider/Care - 5 Stars. Office Automation 1 Star - Saw provider on September 1. Received 10 automated notices in the last 3 business days saying I have a bill. I havent received my EOB from my insurance provider yet (I get paper bills). So - I went online to insurance provider - saw that a bill was submitted and a residual balance remained. So - I clicked on their repeatedly sent tiny URL to make payment. Entered CC information, Zip Code, and my email address. I refuse to check their radial authorizing automated payments in the future -- and when I click submit -- the blue button turned gray - and nothing happened. Called their number. Complained. Person who answered was polite - showed the balance remaining and no evidence of payment - gave me the billing department number. I called there -- and the guy was polite, sees the balance remains and checks the activity, but cannot explain why the process didnt work. Tech is super cool and convenient when the workflows work. I am sure their workflow is requiring that future authorization radial to be checked for it to work - which I dont agree to... Told the guy I want things done old school - I dont need multiple reminders sent every day (morning email, afternoon text). I loved the verbiage, Hey, I just checked and you still owe us some money -- and we all know that it is a Function launched against a column (not a human). BTW - tried it a second time -- and the same thing happened - nothing. Frustrating. Maybe the paper bill will come. Workflow automation error -- yay, team!

This is exactly what San Antonio needed. Speciality primary care center for men. They have plenty of available appointments, take most insurance providers and theyre very punctual. Very little waiting time past your designated appointment time if at all. In house lab work, no need to report to another lab clinic. Its all done onsite. They honestly make it very difficult to make excuses about taking care of yourself with their options and availability.

Very comfortable environment. Amazing bedside manner! Definitely recommend!
