We loved RCC!! All of the nurses were amazing. So supportive at each appointment. The front desk girl was so nice and always did her best to try and remember my name, such a simple thing that can go a long way. The girl that drew my blood was honestly, better than anyone I have ever seen. She was so fast. They all worked together to make our time at RCC the best that it could be.

We currently have a beautiful, healthy baby boy as a result of our care under Dr Blaur and his nursing staff. It took us two years but Dr Blaur went above and beyond to help us complete our family and we will forever be grateful. Him and his staff were very compassionate, professional and seemed to truly care about our end result. I 100% would recommend anyone to this facility for their reproductive needs. Good luck on your own journey if you’re reading this. It’s such a hard thing and you definitely need a good team behind you.

Updated Review: Everyone at RCC has gone above and beyond to reassure me the intake experience I had was not their standard of care. Since discussing this appointment with the office theyve treated me with exceptional care with appropriate attention given to the emotional impact this journey can put on all parties.Original Review: My intake appointment was quite possibly the hardest and worst part of my fertility journey to date. I was not expecting to be told I “definitely” had endometriosis and an ovulatory disorder during this call. I was referred to this center by my incredible OBGYN to help me better understand my possibility of having endometriosis and continuing my natural conception journey. I’m not sure yet if I’ll be moving forward with the Reproductive Care Center’s assistance after the lack of emotional intelligence I received during this intake call.

My husband and I have been working with Dr. Blauer and his team for 6+ years now as weve grown our family, and it has been a great experience overall. Most of the staff weve worked with have been kind, hopeful, gentle and realistic with us every step of the way. We are grateful for them and the way theyve invested in our family. Weve really felt loved as people and not just attended to as patients. When one of our little ones passed away at just a few weeks old, Dr. Blauer came to his funeral and the RCC sent flowers to our home. The staff have talked about our boy in such beautiful ways when we go in, and theyre just incredibly kind. I know not everyone has the same experience at every place, but weve got a lot of good things to say about the RCC.

We started our IVF journey with RCC in October of 2023. We had a rare scenario that we navigated together. Though there were one or two hiccups at the beginning in terms of communication, I was able to voice any concerns and the team took all feedback and improved where needed. They were incredible to work with. The nurses are amazing and really care and are always ready and available to answer questions. I needed my hand held a a bit through this process and they were always right there to help. I grew so close to many of them and am forever grateful for their care and attention during what was an objectively difficult process of IVF. Dr Maas is AMAZING. She is truly the best at what she does. She is so dialed in and is an absolute expert in the field of reproductive health. And the interactions I had with Dr. Blauer were great as well, he is incredibly empathetic and explained things in such a simple way that made sense. I am forever grateful that we landed at this clinic and for the outcome that no doubt came from this amazing team! 🤰

RCC is a phenomenal facility! I have been coming here for about a year or so trying to find out why my husband and I could not conceive after 2 years. We had multiple tests and were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. It was really hard but the nurses and doctors here are so optimistic! Jane is an amazing nurse here and super helpful. We tried a few rounds of fertility shots and it was explained perfectly clear. The medications we needed were overnighted to my home from Tennessee because the fertility pharmacy of America is located there and has the best pricing for Ovidrel, Gonal-F, etc. We were able to conceive and they kept a watchful eye on me and did multiple blood tests and ultrasounds to make sure everything progressed as it should. At 6-7 weeks my baby had a healthy heartbeat and everything looked great. I “graduated” from RCC and they gave me a little bottle of sparkling cider to celebrate :) they recommended a great OB for me to go see. It was a great experience from the front desk staff to the nurses! I also have to give a shout-out to Dr. Becky Vance and her assistant RN, Nancy at the Centerville location. Both of them did two of my HSG tests and they hurt pretty bad but they were so fast, thorough and talked me through the process that it wasn’t too bad! I appreciate all RCC has done for my husband and I! We are thrilled to welcome a baby boy this July. Thank you RCC! If you are struggling with fertility, I would highly recommend going to RCC!

To say grateful doesn’t even begin to describe how much I appreciate everything this clinic did for me! Dr Heiner and Jayne are absolutely amazing! There were times in our journey that I felt like giving up and Dr Heiner and Jayne always kept me going. I truly love how much time Jayne spent answering my questions. We live in Montana and we’re able to do labs locally which really helped since both my spouse and I work full time. Thanks to Dr Heiner and his team we now have a beautiful baby girl. I was so excited to share with the team when she was born and they even called me to follow up about the baby’s birth and how pregnancy went after graduating the clinic! Thank you RCC for being such a great place!

TLDR: Their IVF billing structure Discount Multiple Cycle is slimy. It preys on the fear of vulnerable patients to satisfy their capitalistic greed. My experience doing IUIs was fine with them.I was a patient of Dr. Kristi Maas from July 2023-January 2024. She explained a lot of things about the ART process well. We did testing and 4 IUIs under her guidance. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and kind - I particularly liked my interactions with Nurse Practitioner Becky Vance. After the 4th IUI didnt work, Dr. Maas recommended pursuing IVF. In a telehealth appointment, I brought up alternative options of ways to cut costs for IVF such as using other clinics outside of the United States and doing only monitoring within RCC. She became very defensive - her tone and demeanor immediately changed as if I had betrayed her by simply asking the question. This is a small observation that wouldnt even be worth mentioning, except for the fact that this interaction reinforces the message the IVF billing structure sends: that these people are only in it for the money.A single fresh cycle with RCC is about $12,000 (excluding medications of course). Frozen transfers are about $5,000. Pretty common prices for IVF within the United States. However, RCC offers IVF Discount Multiple Cycle Fresh IVF bundles. For example, you can do a bundle where you can pay for two fresh cycle packages for about $23,000, or you could pay for a package where you can do one fresh cycle with all associated frozen transfers for about $18,000. (They even have a bundle for 4 fresh cycle packages at about $30,000) The policy that exists in the fine writing is that if you get pregnant on your first attempt, you dont get to keep the additional fresh cycle or frozen transfer that you just paid for and use that service for a future pregnancy. You lose those services. You paid for the services, and yet because of your success, you lose access to those services. So if you pay for a bundle, and happen to be successful the first time, RCC just made an additional $6-18,000 off of you - for doing absolutely nothing. They also have a $34,000 money back guarantee package. If you paid for this package and IVF worked for you the first time, that would be $22,000 the company gets to keep - for doing absolutely nothing. This is gambling for the patient. RCC preys on those who are fearful that it wont work the first time, and incentivizes you to get a bundle which they have the audacity to call a discount. We were so lucky to find another clinic (Conceptions Fertility Center) that shows human decency and a straightforward billing structure. Dr. Andrew Moore reviewed our situation and provided a personalized roadmap to our success with IVF. Even though Conceptions also offered us a money back guarantee due to our situation, we still only pay for services that they provide, and its only once we hit a specific point in our treatment plan and/or certain dollar amount then we would get our money back. If we pay for one cycle of IVF and we successfully get pregnant, then we have only paid for one cycle.IVF is obviously very expensive in the United States, but it would have sat better with me if RCC had a straightforward price tag for each service they provide - even if its a little more expensive because its not a discount bundle. The billing structure rubbed me wrong and we are really glad that we looked elsewhere to proceed with our IVF treatment.

My wife and I had a hard time getting pregnant, and in doing so we came to this clinic. We had one nurse, Heidi, who was fantastic and was always a pleasure to work with. The evaluation process was as straight forward as one can be, and treatment for our situation was, thankfully, easier than what we had feared. This is where the good things end, however.Let me start by saying that my wife and I are ELATED to be having a baby boy. We would not have been able to become pregnant without the assistance we received, HOWEVER, there were some very frustrating issues that leave us to consider another clinic should we choose to try again.Getting in contact with the nurses station was borderline impossible, and quite frankly a hair pulling scenario every time. I understand that things can get busy, however when calling on my wifes behalf, I never once had someone answer my calls (some days Id have to call 10 TIMES). Even leaving voice messages were left unanswered (4 weeks was the longest -- it took so long I literally forgot). The only time this clinic will call you is when it is time to collect an unpaid invoice. Really? In this practice, its important to treat people as actual people, rather than numbers. I felt like a number at this clinic. Just another dollar sign to be collected. Which happens to take me to my next point. After going through my wifes details, we noticed that one of her measurements had been way below what they wanted ever since we had been going to this clinic. Now, I will say that this is just an observation and I am not inferring anything by this, however by about our 5th try of IUIs, right BEFORE IVF, our nurse had suggested we try a medication to help my wife with the measurement that was below where it needed to be. This ended up getting us pregnant. Now, I hate to assume things, so I will just state how this was observed by both myself and my wife; it certainly felt like we were being led straight to IVF and that the intent from the beginning was to prep us for IVF. In fact, our initial explanation of my results by one of the andrologists had suggested that we go straight to IVF, and that IUI was possible for success. It certainly felt like on the last IUI attempt, right before IVF, we were given these meds to prep us for what lies ahead. Thank GOD we ended there. Why this sub-par measurement was not addressed earlier is beyond me, but we got pregnant in the end. However, the experience wasnt one Id recommend. Ill end this by saying that we are, again, thankful that we got pregnant, but because of the poor experience, I just cant find myself recommending this clinic or coming back in the near future.

They want to help me get pregnant as quickly as I want to get pregnant. The nurses are so kind and I especially love Heidi who is there for all the ultrasounds and consults with me! She is so kind and understanding! My only complaint would be that the secretaries aren’t especially professional. When in the waiting room they are loud and having personal conversations and when I get phone calls from them I usually answer the phone to them talking to each other and laughing before they notice that I answered the phone.Other than that, I absolutely recommend the reproductive care center! Very bad experience with RCC. Incorrect information left and right, had to keep correcting what was in my records. I got lab results back before my blood was even drawn and I had to keep telling them those results werent mine but they were still on my records. My first visit with the doctor was a simple exam but he NEVER even made eye contact with me. He was in and out so fast and I was left with so many questions. I didnt see him again until months later for a consult I had to push for, and that was a zoom call where we spent most of the time correcting wrong information in our records. I never really ever got clear information on why it was so hard for us to conceive. My husband was also given incorrect information based off medication they had never even prescribed to him and he had never taken. They also billed all of his work incorrectly which resulted in a lot of time spent with them and the insurance company to get fixed. We did an IUI with them back in June and then walked away. They never reached out with any follow up, honestly, I dont know what the next step would have even been. Id love to cut all ties with them, but theyre still reporting incorrect information to my current OB and other medical offices.

The people are very nice however this office was not for us. We had a consultation appointment for male infertility (azoospermia), and rather than tell us they don’t specialize in that area, they continued with a consultation appointment and asked our time and our money. I would have been understanding of a consultation appointment if the consultation appointment didn’t consist of asking us literally word for word all the questions we had answered in our registration/pre-appointment packets. It felt as though they were taking the time to look at those questions for the first time during the appointment, not just asking follow up or clarifying questions. My husband and I feel it was a huge waste of money even having a consultation appointment because of this. We understand consultations are not treatment regimens planned out however, a whole hour of reading off the answers we had already provided to the office just for the office to say they would refer us to another company and office for help was ridiculous because they already knew they wouldn’t be able to help treat azoospermia.

Save your time and Turn around and go somewhere else. This place is AWFUL! They treat you poorly and the communication is the worst I have ever seen. Wether it’s form the front desk, nurses, or doctors, and scheduling, results, appointments, billing, ect. Front desk is so hard to get ahold of. Hardly ever answer, as well as the nursing team, you always have to leave a VM but they don’t call back. For example, we spoke with Dr. Mass over the phone, we asked her if we are good to make our appointment and she said they would call us within the next 3 days to schedule us, 8 days go by and no phone call. We finally called and after the 5th try of reaching them, they had no record of us. Then later on we were told we would get a call when the blood work results come back, a month goes by so we call, no answer (as usual) left a voicemail and still haven’t received a call back on our own blood work results. Also, they spread our appointments into three when it all could have been done in one appointment. Blood work, ultrasound, testings. I know this because we finally went to the U clinic and they took care of us in one appointment rather than make it into 3. Reproductive care is by far the worst experience and made what is supposed to be exciting, a very stressful and mentally draining process.

I do not recommend this clinic or any of their associate locations.I was denied medication regarding sedation for a biopsy because they did not tell me to arrive early and did not want to delay their schedule further. When I insisted that I wanted the medication and explained that I was told I could have it when we originally scheduled the procedure, the doctor eventually came in and complied with my request. I also had test results lost throughout this process and had to repeat bloodwork. My husband and I were also given a very generic, unorganized list of payment packages with poor communication and no explanation. After choosing our package, providing our very sensitive financial information, and getting our approval letter, the financial department backtracked and said we no longer qualified for the package that we were approved for due to our fertility test results being so low. Not only did they already have our test results, but this exclusion was never explained to us. The package we chose was a multiple cycle discount, and Im well aware that given our low fertility results, we would most likely need to do several cycles, and this package would not be in their best interest. They want their money. When we asked about this decision and expressed our confusion, we were unable to get in touch with the financial department, and when we were, the financial and nursing team went in circles playing the blame game. We finally got fed up, were denied access to the doctors number, and decided to reach out to the management team instead. One of the nurses responded to us, but we still have not heard back from any of the management or doctors involved. This was a week ago. This place is either incredibly incompetent or incredibly unethical, but when you are dealing with a human life, it honestly doesnt matter. Do yourself a favor and dont make a hard situation even harder. Go elsewhere.

Continue from Austin-It’s now 5 days into her period and her eggs should be extracted soon but we can’t get them to fix their online documents so we can sign them, nor can we get ahold of them to send her meds to the pharmacy. After 2 voicemails and an email, they finally responded and said they had sent to a different pharmacy and I told them the correct one to send them too. They replied that she just needed to get them ordered by Thursday and that’s it. I then replied AGAIN saying “okay, then put in the order to the pharmacy like I stated on the last email. And can I get some sort of timeline on when she needs to come in, what the next steps are, what she needs to do to prepare”. Furthermore, I reminded them that they never responded to our previous voicemails and emails so I had to set up the pharmacy by calling them. It’s getting so frustrating having to hold their hands and extract information that they should be conveying to us. Why they don’t have a patient coordinator is beyond me. We have the text number of our doctor in Mexico.11/29- I get a call from the funding company that they received confirmation and are disbursing payments. We haven’t even signed the agreement yet. They also added $600 in charges from the total pricing from last Wednesday because they “forgot to include some costs”. We still can’t go in and sign the ICSI document after telling them 4 times now it’s not uploaded correctly. Also, got a call today asking to push back our appointment tomorrow. This reminds me of how they rescheduled the first doctor’s appointment because something came up and she couldn’t meet us. So now they have cancelled or moved multiple appointments.11/30- we showed up for the appt to do another ultrasound to prepare for egg retrieval. Accounting told us that we only had to pay for the special insurance we selected ($340) since the loan company wouldn’t cover this. The front desk immediately said that we owed $1,950 for the insurance, egg/ sperm cryopreservation storage, and then a $675 TESE charge. I told them that this was incorrect, and the storage was covered by the more expensive FET. The receptionist went back and talked to accounting and came back and said she thinks I may be right, and they will review. Then accounting came out and apologized and said they had added to the wrong account and how she will put it under our account and show that it’s paid. But wait until you read the end and what they end up doing!!

I had to frequently ask what procedure or testing was being done. I was even scheduled for a procedure I didnt need and had paid for and taken a medication for that procedure that I should have never been prescribed. And after years of secondary infertility and loss I felt very vulnerable. I had no contact with a doctor about what procedures were being done. They said after all my diagnostic testing I could then schedule to meet with the doctor. Which felt very frustrating to not have a point of contact. When we finally had our scheduled appointment with Dr. Blauer he completely missed our appointment and we had to reschedule for another day.Worst of all. I was pregnant and experienced a loss while in the care of RPCC and the care was dismal. I was told to continue with blood draws and progesterone without any clear answers. I asked to discuss my situation with Dr. Blauer. When he called to discuss my loss, he was incredibly rude and unkind. And even charged me for a visit. While on the phone with him discussing my loss, he was using scare tactics to get me to continue doing blood draws. When I asked for alternate routes of care, like watchful waiting. His response was that I wouldnt know and my belly would fill full of blood and I would die! While I see that he thought he was trying to show how extreme this situation could be. This was incredibly inappropriate conversation to have, but especially with an individual experiencing pregnancy loss. There was never a question of if I was bleeding or had pain. He had no idea what was actually going on with me, just defensive about his view on my treatment. I would discourage anyone with a history of pregnancy loss to work with Dr. Blauer. He had zero empathy and concern about the layers of grief that come from loss and infertility trauma.

I paid what I thought was the full price at the time of service. I never negotiated the price down. To reach out months later because now their prices are different for their labs or whatever their reasoning is outrageous. It’s unacceptable. The price for it was 230 but when it came to the appointment date, they raised the price to 350. They had us sign online documents that the website could not even show what we were signing for. They will not give you any upfront cost or any sort of game plan to know what we are in for. They just want to charge you whatever they feel like when you get to another step in there secret plan that they wont tell you about. Even thought we wanted to pay cash, they kept asking us for social security number, photos of drivers license, & wanted a debit card on file. There website security questions are the same as normal bank security questions. There whole system is set up for a FRAUD that they will take fully advantage of a person in need. I highly recommend the UofU fertility clinic instead. They have pricing and package deals and are upfront about every step of the way. And payment are made through a secure website and not over the phone, nor will they ask for details that can lead to identity theft.

It was incredibly easy to be with Reproductive Care Center from the very beginning. Easy to call and book appointments, the paperwork was done online for our initial appointment (saved paper and time), and always easy to ask questions and get answers. Everyone was extremely nice and professional. I never had a bad experience there. The office is in a great location and has a wonderful layout/design. It was great to have a doctor who listened to my concerns and approach to fertility related items. I did not feel pressured to pay the big bucks for expensive treatments, and we followed a care plan that worked best for me.

I can only speak regarding Dr. Blauer, whom I would not recommend anyone visit. Im sure the other doctors there are more professional.Dr. Blauer disclosed sensitive medical information to a third party, violating HIPAA regulations. When I scheduled a call to discuss my complaint and frustration of the disclosure of information, he proceeded to charge me $178 for a consultation. We received no medical advice and during a very sensitive time of infertility, Dr. Blauer violated a secure act which was designed specifically to protect patient health information. I sincerely hope others will look to other fertility specialists for medical advice and care recommendations.

From the moment I entered RCC I was so impressed. They treated me like family. I always felt like they really, really cared about me. My RCC doctor always took the time to really talk to me and listen. When I usually go to a doctor I spend $100+ dollars for less than a 5 minute conversation. I was shocked he spent an hour sitting and talking with me during my new patient consultation, worth every penny to speak with someone so knowledgeable. I felt like infertility is like learning another language. It can be so overwhelming but the staff were all so patient and understanding. The best part was that they provided a variety of treatment options. They reviewed with me my odds for success with each treatment option so I could make the best decision for me and my husband. LOVED the billing department (maybe a surprise to some people... no one ever likes bills). But they had the most thorough contracts that actually very thoroughly and clearly outlined everything. They had a variety of cost and payment options that could be tailored to the financial means of the individual patient. I could go on and on. Im so grateful for this clinic and all the staff. The best decision I ever made was to go to this clinic. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone whos struggling to get pregnant. My newborn baby girl is happy too! :)

My wife and I started working with Dr. Heiner at RCC in October 2019. Each visit seemed a little more disorganized than the last, but we figured he must have a lot of patients and assumed he was putting us in the right direction. Plenty of appointments, tests, procedures, ~8 months, and ~$1,600 later we come to find out weve been lead the wrong direction the entire time. A passing comment from one of the RNs lead us to seek a 2nd opinion where we discovered the problem Dr. Heiner lead us to believe we had, we didnt actually have, and the issue was something else entirely. It was easily noticable and hadnt been brought up the entire time we worked with them.I wish we had read more of the reviews before we started working with RCC. Seeing that RCC wont work with all couples, regardless of who they love, makes me sad we ever worked with them in the first place. We will not be working with RCC again.I do want to say that the staff of RNs and Office Assistants always did a great job. Theyre the only reason this isnt a 1 star review.

I really appreciated that Dr. Hatasaka walked my husband and I step-by-step through our personal infertility process. It was helpful to have him go over the outline of diagnostic tests he would want to complete before deciding on a course of action. I appreciated that I did not feel like he was rushing me out the door, he took time to answer my questions and ask questions of his own to get to know us and our problem on a more personal level. I would have liked for him to go more into detail about potential treatments, but I understand that he wants to have an official diagnosis before heading down that road. A handout that lists the tests he recommended would have been helpful. Melissa P.

First of all, their fertility procedures were successful. My bad review doesnt reflect the effectiveness of the clinics work. The customer service is terrible though. They have been unclear with their procedures from day one, and they wont let spouses into the exam room to see an ultrasound of their own child because of Covid, even though Im willing to wear a mask, keep a safe distance, and I live in nearly constant close proximity to my spouse. There is no basis in science for that policy.

I love RCC. I spent a good year wasting time trying to find the perfect RE to see because I didnt want a bad experience for something so personal. I first saw Dr Hatasaka who was the first dr to finally diagnose a life long disease. He is very patient and listens to everything. I love the amount of time he actually spent with us discussing our options. He doesnt specialize in any type of natural medicine; however, I also saw Dr Blaur who knows a lot about natural medications (some of the medicines I needed made me really sick and the alternatives had no side effects). He even told me the best place to buy everything. The clinic is aware of the cost and struggles couples have paying for visits. My insurance covered nothing, but RCC still only charged me my co pay. The were a couple times no one likes at my test results, but I was pro active and Jeanette (Dr Blaurs nurse) always responded quickly and listened to my fears and worries. All in all a good experience, but you do need to make sure you stay on top of things (why I only gave 4 stars). Im really grateful Dr Hatasaka was who I saw first and I was really lucky to also benefit from Dr Blaurs specialties. Id recommend this clinic to my closest friends.

Ive been a patient for 2.5 months now. In 2.5 months the clinic has...1. Lost my CD3 bloodwork that was needed for IVF, thus postponing my treatment an additional month.2. Stated an appointment was billed to insurance and denied when it was no where to be found in my insurance claims.3. Applied my advanced payment for a procedure to someone elses account, then when insurance covered more than I paid tried to charge me more instead of reimbursing me.The nursing manager called me to apologize for the bloodwork but instead gave the excuse that they have new staff. You should probably not put new staff on the floor until theyre fully trained. At least the doctor seems to be competent.

I found when I had this mentality I always was met with wonderful service and considerate feedback. Dont expect to be pampered, this clinic is high volume but is so well oiled as a machine youll never wait long or feel inconvenienced. They respect your time. The front desk gals are amazing. The nurses are very knowledgeable. Dr Heiner isnt going to know your name but he will make sure to exhaust all your options to get you a baby. Be informed and do your homework so when you have your consult you know what you want to do. I never waited more than 5 minutes, I always got the answers I was looking for. Samantha from their nursing staff is extremely unprofessional and lacking in communication skills. She blames patients for her lack of professionalism and incorrectly doing her job. She had started being aggressive to me a few months ago when I came in for blood work. I was told by the not only Samantha but also the other clinical staff that I was scheduled for blood work only and could leave after. Once I arrived at my own job after leaving I was notified by Samantha that I was supposed to have a covid test done that day. She failed to tell me this in the email as well as at the clinic when I was there. I told her I asked before leaving of I needed to do further testing an was told no. She demanded I return to the clinic to have the test done or my donation cycle could be terminated even though I was days into doing hormone shots. As a healthcare worker I told her I was unable to leave my position at worn to drive back to have testing done due to the incompetence and poor communication of the staff. It is not my responsibility to know what testing I am do for, it is the clinical staffs job to inform patients. She then mailed me a covid test asking I swab myself and send it back in the mail. This creates a whole host of issues in itself. Ever since this issue a few months ago Samantha has been aggressive toward me in our correspondences. She attacked me today saying that I have not been communicating quick enough by email. I let her know that my replies by email have been the same duration as her emails to me. The longest space in correspondence from me was four days, which was followed by a reply from her another four days later. It is not my responsibility that she does not check her emails outside of work and then attacks me for replying to her on the same time from she does to me. I feel extremely attacked as a patient here.

This review is specific to Dr. Heiner. I have friends that have been to other doctors at this clinic and had a great experience. However, our experience with Dr. Heiner was very poor. We went on the recommendation of my OB/GYN after she had us try three months of clomid. She felt that based on the information she had we would be good candidates for IUI. When we walked into the clinic the nurse that first met with us told us the Dr. would be recommending IVF. We then met with Dr. Heiner who explained to us that based on my husbands test results the only way we would get pregnant was through IVF with ICSI - of course, the most expensive option. Then he proceeded to tell us all about their wonderful four-try money back guarantee - at a mere $40,000 to $50,000 price tag! What they dont tell you is that if you get a baby on the first try - you just spent $50,000 on a $15,000 procedure - no money back if you dont use all four. Any concerns or questions we had about that diagnosis - considering the fact that my husband already has three children from a prior marriage were dismissed. They did not bother to run any tests on me. Needless to say we were devastated. After being passed around from nurse to doctor back to nurse and finally on to some financial specialist, we were sent home and told to call with any questions. We never heard a word from them again. No follow up.After doing some of our own research we felt that there were some external factors that could have played into the results of my husbands first analysis and decided to get a second opinion. Three months later at a different clinic with a new doctor, we had a second analysis and the concerning number had more than doubled - which didnt surprise our new doctor at all - considering all the information we had given both her and Dr. Heiner. At our first appointment with our new doctor I had an ultrasound to check my egg count as well as blood work to test my AMH levels - something not even mentioned at our visit with Dr. Heiner. Our new doctor felt that we were excellent candidates for the significantly less expensive and less invasive IUI procedure. I am now 8 weeks along with our miracle baby after four IUIs.Lesson learned, if you dont feel comfortable - get a second opinion. We felt like Dr. Heiner was more interested in making money off of us than finding and fixing the underlying problem. Turns out, we were right.

We met with Dr Blauer initially. Since they have so many doctors, you likely won’t see your doctor again unless you are lucky enough to be on their assigned “transfer cycle”.Beyond this, communication was horrid from nurse to patient. My wife was told (and we had a clinical order) for progesterone that is dissolvable (not a shot). She asks the nurse on the phone to confirm and the nurse says “So you have your shots”. Which they didn’t instruct us on how to administer. On they day we were to find out if the transfer was a success (our second try), we had to have someone go bang on the door at the building after 6pm because they didn’t return any phone calls with the results. The blood test was done at 7am that morning.Lastly (among other things) the billing is awful. We caught mistakes in the five digit range. If we had just ponied up our money, they would have taken it with no issue. After reviewing our bills, there were multiple mistakes, every time- sometimes amounting to thousands of dollars of overcharges.Yes, there are some good experiences people have here. There are some nice enough people. But you will be treated as a number in their baby machine. “You need to take these prenatals ($150 for 90 days) and use our discount code for a discount” That’s affiliate marketing with a kickback- and that is only the beginning.Be mindful of who you put your trust and your money in. Record everything, make sure you know what is what. You can still have a success story there- unfortunately we left due to these issues and have received 100% better care at UCRM (The U)

Review №79

Our experience started out very positive. Consultations went fine and were informative. We had no issue contacting anyone. We were communicating from afar, so there were times when we and RCC missed one another, but for the most part, questions were answered and we steadily moved forward. Note that this was still prior to our having paid any money, and during the part of the process that wasnt time sensitive and information critical. We noticed a marked, rapid deterioration in the care and customer service we received that correlated with having paid for our package, in cash, entirely up front. And anticipating RCCs response, well readily acknowledge that we were not always so easy to get a hold of, up to a certain point in the process. Thats going to happen when the customer lives on the other side of the world. The point is, all of those communications occurred during a period when time sensitivity and responsiveness did not factor in.Of course, we were ultimately attributed the blame for the problems experienced, as we were told the staff went above and beyond. Above and beyond is actually answering the telephone during business hours, at least occasionally, or returning a voicemail the same day, or at least within 24 hours, or at least not after multiple voicemails being left, or having to be shamed into doing so. And lets be hypothetical and suppose there is an actual difficulty with contacting the customer this way? Above and beyond is a quick, simple two-sentence e-mail stating, Dear customer, I am having a difficult time contacting you by phone. This is the answer to your question, or please call me at this number at this time and I will be sure to answer the phone.A simple analysis of our cellular telephone records illustrates the point. On average, during the time-sensitive period, and following our payment, for every four calls we placed to RCC, we received one call back. Thats the average - there are patterns where we placed ten calls, with no call back from RCC. Close analysis of the data shows several clear patterns, namely, that when calls were actually returned, often it was days later, and the short duration of the calls we placed indicates that we generally werent successful with getting anyone on the phone, repeatedly. And understand that part of our urgency was trying to clear up instructions that were inconsistent with dates (again, date and time sensitive) and confusing. E-mails - again, after we paid and during the time sensitive period - tell a similar story.Consider this contrast - we paid for the top of the line package with RCC, up front, with cash. And once we did so, we had to work at it, constantly, in order to try to communicate with RCC. Sometimes it was all we could do to pull the required information out of them, at the very last minute. We paid them to work for us, and it felt like we ended up working for them. On the other hand, we are now involved with a care program with a lot of moving parts and an extensive team of care providers that we pay almost nothing for, at least, not out of our own pockets. In this program, we couldnt fall off their radar if we tried. They regularly come to us regarding whatever type of care is required. They regularly follow up with us regarding the health of our daughter. If we call or e-mail them, which only requires one call or e-mail, they reply by no later than one business day. This is a professional standard of care, a partnership, a family team really, and the ridiculous irony is that its the team we havent paid huge money for.Was the process ultimately successful? Yes, it was, and we are grateful and can add a star for that. But when we reflect back on the process, or see reviews similar to our own regarding accessibility and responsiveness, the frustrations quickly return, and mean that we cant recommend RCC.

I’ve waited to write this review so that I could have a similar amount of time to compare treatment at my new fertility center. After spending two years with RCC and two years with my new clinic, I can say the difference is night and day.The good:I’m grateful for the expert surgery I received from Dr. Hatasaka to correct my septate uterus. He did a wonderful job, and from what I’ve heard, he’s the best in the state for this type of work. The bad:I thought the indifference (and sometimes flat-out rudeness) of the staff was just something I’d have to deal with when working with a specialist. I thought it was normal to leave messages and never hear back. I thought it was normal to wait an hour for the specialist. IT’S NOT.I started to become frustrated when Dr. Hataska refused to try other treatment besides more surgery to treat my recurrent miscarriages. I begged to have my hormones tested. I asked about IVF. I desperately inquired about small things like baby aspirin to prevent blood clotting. “No, no, no. That won’t help with recurrent miscarriage. All old wives tales,” he insisted. The only possible thing for us to do was keep trying and miscarrying until something stuck or have more surgeries. The final straw for me was when I had my third miscarriage. I came in to have an ultrasound to confirm the miscarriage. I can’t remember whether it was Dr. Blauer or Dr. Heiner who performed the ultrasound (I believe it was Heiner). As he confirmed the miscarriage, I began to cry—obviously devastated. I will never forget what he said: “Why are you crying? This isn’t a big deal. People miscarry all the time and go on to have babies eventually.” How insensitive can you be? I left that day and never came back.Fast forward:After a year or so to heal from our awful experience, we decided to give Utah Fertility Center a chance. WOW! So much better. Like, night and day. I came to realize that the treatment I received at RCC wasn’t personalized. Dr. Hatasaka was set in his ways, and we didn’t know any better. At our new practice, we were immediately tested for a bunch of different issues. RCC never even bothered to do a sperm sample analysis on my husband—let alone any genetic testing, autoimmune testing, etc.—for the two years we were there. Turns out, this is all part of a normal infertility workup for people who have a difficult time getting pregnant (as we were) or miscarry (as we were).People: you don’t have to put up with terrible treatment. You don’t have to put up with doctors who take the easy (for them) path. You don’t have to deal with insensitive doctors who chastise you for crying. There are doctors who will fight infertility alongside you and be your advocate. Unfortunately, from my experience, they’re not at RCC.Thanks to our new clinic, we’re now expecting our first baby this fall. What did the trick? Hormone treatments, baby aspirin, and IVF. I guess they arent old wives tales after all.

Dr Heiner immediately knew what was wrong by looking at these tests, something my primary OB/GYN and the university of Utah reproductive clinic both missed or didn’t read. Dr Hatasaka and everyone I have ever come across in the office are PHENOMINAL! Everyone is always making sure that I happy and with questions answered. I always feel SO confident when leaving the office. Dr Hatasaka is so sensitive to our fertility situation, always honest and always calms our fears. There should be more doctors and offices like this in the world. They also always review who I am and what I am there for before I enter the room. He makes me feel like a friend, even asking how my husband is by name! -Ashley Cranford

Dr. Swelstad and his staff are all fantastic. From the moment we first stepped into the office waiting room, we felt as though we would be well taken care of and our problems would be seen as personal to every member of the staff. Im not sure exactly who is in charge of this clinic. There is an incredible disconnect between the staff, and as an earlier google user noted, contractual issues ruined our entire experience. It was a miracle I got pregnant at all, because there were mistakes made on my medication protocol, and to get accurate information from the staff was like groping around in the dark for something. I didnt even get the medical and billing documents until 24 hours before our procedure. It was just a colossal wreck. The staff was nice enough (I thought) until I miscarried. Then I didnt hear a peep from them. I suppose they were embarrassed by the gross mismanagement of my medical, financial and legal issues. FYI- I contacted out of state legal counsel who agreed I would have a case over the contractual problems I had with RCC, but just try suing one of these clinics in Utah. Its almost impossible, SO buyer beware.

The first appointment (consult) is rather nice. You get to talk to the doctor and he gets a good history and you get a plan in place. After that, things just went downhill. You can NEVER get anyone on the phone to discuss your plan or answer questions. You can leave a voicemail, but they either wont return your call EVER or, if youre lucky, theyll return the call several days late. Emails are the same; either no response or severely delayed response. Time is critical when youre trying to conceive. This place is the worst. I didnt get pregnant, didnt ovulate, wont be going back.

I am 38 and always dreamed of a baby. My husband 35, was supportive of us making the trek out here from Park City. We wish the clinic was closer to the freeway. We came to several appointments due to my fibroids and cyst for testing and blood draws. We checked my husbands sperm and it was his low count and bad shapes. Dr. Heiner and Nurse Rachel sent us away with pills and recommendations of vitamins. So after about five months we decided to try insemination before IVF. The pills were actually chemotherapy pills and terrible. My stomach ached and bowels exploded in public. Hair also started falling out. Then came the shots which sucked. I was so pissed off about the process and all the annoying small $500 or less medical bills. Talked to countless people who lost thousands going to Fertility doctors. I was pretty sure it was not going to work. Dr Heiner said we could give him $10,000 for one, or $24,000 for a four-pack of IVF treatments. He just wanted to do the $1700 insemination a few times before to help us avoid such a large bill.Well I am pregnant!!! We got insemination to work on the first try! Now I am peeing every twenty minutes and having to quit my career.God Bless you!We are having our dreams come true and all the annoying office visits and blood draws were worth it.XOXOXOXO

Initially my wife and I were very impressed with how we were treated by Dr. Hatasaka. They ultimately determined that we would not be able to have children without IVF. After our consultation we decided to try making some minor lifestyle changes; we ended up getting pregnant on our own within 6 months. One of the big reasons we held off on the IVF, is that we were not presented with any other options by RCC. It was you will not have kids without IVF and it was an absolute; no lets try this first or anything else, just went straight to IVF.Over 2 years later, weve met countless couples who are in the exact same position we are: RCC gave no other option than IVF, and we ended up having a child with no medical intervention a short time later. I respect that IVF is RCCs big money maker service, but I cant help but feel like they are pushing it unreasonably, in situations where lower cost alternatives might be more successful. I dont know if their position stems from that of greed, or from a lack of understanding about the true science behind the reproductive process. All that said, they are great to work with IF you need an IVF. But I would never commit to their services without 1-2 other professional opinions. Walk in those doors with the expectation that they are more concerned about selling you their IVF services, than they are about providing quality care with alternative treatment options.
