I began seeing Monica in May to address some skin conditions (mainly eczema), and a few other concerns that I have been dealing with for several years. I’ve never had acupuncture before, but a friend recommended it, so I scheduled an appointment with Monica. From our first session, she brought such a warm, empathetic, and trustworthy demeanor to her approach. She is an educator, and walked me through each acu point, and answered my many questions about how it all works. The way she explains things is extremely digestible — you can tell she wants to really share her knowledge, and for her patients to feel comfortable, assured, and educated. She really took the time to listen to my concerns, and I left feeling really encouraged. After just 2 or 3 sessions, combined with the herbs she prescribed, my eczema was over 90% cleared. I couldn’t believe the healing that took place after years of trying things that didn’t work. A few months later, and I’m 100% eczema free, and look forward to continuing to work with Monica. I’m so grateful for her wisdom and knowledge. She is the real deal! I really couldn’t recommend her more. If you’re thinking about acupuncture, definitely schedule with Monica! I have been seeing Monica for several months now and came to her with a list of issues. Immediately, she was able to diagnose the root cause of my issues and start working to cure them. One of my issues was monthly migraines, after seeing Monica on a weekly basis, I have yet to experience a migraine and that is enough to keep me coming back among many other things. Monica is pleasant, efficient, and incredible at explaining each step of her process. I have never been able to find/trust PCPs and therefore have gone to doctors on a as-needed basis, yet I trust Monica because she listens, cares, and is successful at diagnosing and curing root causes.

Over the course of a few years Monica has helped me with back pain, migraines, Achilles pain, and stress. An appointment with Monica is so much more than treating a single issue though. You may be in her office because your elbow hurts, but after asking you questions and truly listening she may give you a bonus treatment for something such as stress. She follows up your treatment with practical suggestions to do when you get home. I have seen other Accupuncture practitioners but Monica is who gives results.

I went to see Monica when I was 39 years old, and had already been through two miscarriages. I had heard from a friend that acupuncture would be helpful to try and conceive. I found Monica online, and after reading her rave reviews I knew she was the one! I went to go see her and explained my situation. With her treatments and herbs, I got pregnant after 6 weeks of seeing Monica. Im currently 37 weeks pregnant and owed it all to Monica and her expertise on having this baby girl! Monica really knows what she is doing and she has a kind and patient bedside manner. She has years of education and experience.Intelligence, competence and kindness in one provider can be hard to find, and she has all three.So often, health care practitioners dont truly listen to their patients. But Monica does listen and it is refreshing!As for acupuncture itself, its a mystery to me how it works but Ive seen the proof in my own body with chronic pain cured that drugs could not fix. Im a skeptical science and technology and business/numbers person. But at this point, I would try acupuncture with Monica BEFORE taking traditional pharmaceuticals for most ailments, including skin ailments or muscle pain. She also fixed my carpal tunnel wrist and I still sort of cant believe it, but the pain is gone.Monica is really good at explaining what she is doing and her reasoning, which makes the visits fascinating as well as healing. I cant believe I waited until my 30s to try acupuncture but I did so out of desperation and was pleasantly surprised!She is a good ally for personal wellness.Also, I appreciate that Monica is working on my behalf and no one elses -- theres no drug company kickback lurking in the background of her recommended treatment. Monica has Been a godsend over many years treating me for primarily autoimmune conditions. Pretty much every health issue I’ve had responds to her care, ranging from gynecological to neurological to structural (sprain). Monica places needles with intention and intuition and you can feel the physical response immediately and in the long run. With other acupuncturists I used there has been almost no physical response during treatment or effectiveness afterwards. She also has advanced training that makes her able to handle more complex cases like my own. Even though I don’t live close I travel across Seattle to get to her cause I’ve tried the others but need to stick with the best. Can’t recommend more highly!

My experience with Monica @ Downtown Seattle Acupuncture has been truly a great experience! I went to see Monica for fertility issues, as I had heard acupuncture could possibly help in this arena. Not going to lie, I dont like needles and was skeptical at first, but Monica made the process easy & enjoyable, and its a very relaxing and calming way to spend 30 minutes:-). I saw results in a matter of a couple months, and now, it has been about 1 year and I believe that the combination of my acupuncture treatment with Monica, along with my fertility medicine I was taking, allowed us to conceive and am happy to report that I am currently 20 weeks along in pregnancy and couldnt be happier. Because I believe acupuncture can truly help in SO many ways, I continue to see Monica to help with stress relief, headaches and muscle pains throughout my pregnancy. She is very knowledgeable with the science behind chinese medicine and in my case, fertility, along with what herbs to take to regulate my body and the various foods that improve the process as well. She not only was a great acupuncturist, but also is very personable and down to earth and enjoy visiting and receiving treatment each month. I would highly recommend Monica and her practice!

Monica has been amazing. After being diagnosed with Bells Palsy, my doctors failed to take me seriously so I turned to a Facebook support group who recommend I try out acupuncture. Monica happened to be the 1st person recommended and I am glad I found her.I emailed her late on a Saturday after my hospital visit and she responded very quickly. She took me seriously and treats me like a human being. I’ve seen Monica off and on for about 10 years, and I can tell you she is unceremoniously awesome. She gets right to business, carefully listens, thoroughly assesses and makes an action plan that works. I love that she tells you what she’s doing and why. And I love that I can talk to her about anything – emotional, physical, hormonal – over the years, I’ve known I can bring her anything and we address it together. Most recently my doctor and I decided I no longer needed a small dose SSRI I had been taking- but withdrawals are notoriously brutal. My first call was to Monica --- and I am so glad. I first met Monica four years ago, when I sought out an alternative treatment to debilitating migraines that western medicine had been unable to treat. My first appointment with her came after almost three weeks of a headache that would not subside. I was skeptical but desperate, and walked out of my first visit headache free. Monica is excellent at what she does. I started seeing her at 33.5 weeks pregnant to help flip a breech baby and by my next appointment at 36 weeks the baby had turned! I started seeing her again when I went past 40 weeks, and I went into labor a few hours after my 2nd or 3rd treatment that week! I highly recommend her to all pregnant women to help with pregnancy-related health issues or just overall good health!

I met Monica late Summer 2016. I was looking for an alternative to injections for reoccurring joint pain. I was impressed from the first visit with her quick assessment and recommending electrical stimulation for these areas. I appreciated knowing in advance how many visits to treat. I had great results.I had also been dealing with insomnia for years. We discussed acupuncture to increase yin for the sleep issue. It has taken some time however I have am seeing great improvement. Ive been seeing Monica since 2012 when I thought Id give acupuncture a try for labor induction. I returned in 2013 for additional medical reasons; reasons for which I did not wish to take prescription drugs. I remembered how great I felt after acupuncture during the end of my pregnancy, so I returned, hoping it would help me a second time around. I have noticed and continue to notice the improved difference in how I feel with regular acupuncture sessions (and the negative effect if I miss a session). I will not hold back when I say that Monica Changed my life.. at least my inner workings of the female monthly hellish cycle and all that comes with it. I have never been treated other then high dosages of Midol/tylenol etc for painful cramps during Mother Natures furry week. Monica took the time to find out exactly what my special time of the month looked like and she precisely met my bodies energy obstructed needs. Only after 2 1/2 hour visits did I notice Drastic changes for the better. I first sought out Monica for help with fertility treatments and implanting. I had never experienxed Accupuncture at all but was desperate to try anything after trying to conceive for 2 years. I am so happy to say I am actually pregnant!! With that excitement came all the morning sickness (ALL DAY SICKNESS). I wish I had contacted Monica as soon as the sickness hit. I tried all the tricks and tips from friends and articles! Someone mentioned accupuncture and of course I called her right away! In just one treatment I felt relief the next day which lasted 2 weeks! I don’t write a lot of reviews but I had to share my recent experience with Acupuncturist Monica Legatt at Seattle Acupuncture and Holistic Health. Recently, I experienced a lot of health issues - from tingling sensations in my arms and hands, cervical stenosis in my neck and shoulder and burning sensations as well as lumbar stenosis in my back resulting in numbness in my left leg and foot. Despite undergoing a series of traditional methods to get better and a whole lot of MRI’s, CT scans and blood work, traditional medicine could not provide me any significant relief. My only option was to live with it until I was ready to have surgery.I decided to turn to Acupuncture and based on Monica’s great reviews decided to begin treatment with her. The past couple of months of Acupuncture treatments have provided me significant relief and I am almost feeling like my old self. In addition, the full-on numbness in my left foot - which was getting to be a daily issue making it hard for me to walk and completely impacting my day to day activities is now down to a tingle in my left foot and I as I continue to receive treatment with Monica I know my condition will only improve. If you have tried traditional methods and drugs to regain your health and want to begin feeling better, Monica has an uncanny intuition and great skill as an acupuncturist and will be a great help you in your recovery. I am so very glad I found Monica!!

I was sad for last several seasons. That’s why I stoped seeing her. After I saw many good reviews, I was glad to find her and I liked her for the first 1-2 months. But I started feeling that she doesn’t care for me much and her attitudes was not nice enough.. To me, she is always hurry and don’t have time to listen, one time I started talking after session and she stood and left her room and she went her other room. Without seeing me, she said “bye!” from inside the room and I left that day feeling disrespected..Then several other thing also happened after that. I wanted to continue acupuncture but I thought she is not right one one for. I was puzzled why she was like that, in spite of all the good reviews..

I went to have treatment for my autoimmune disease. She was able to help the symptoms involved with the disease including the stress/anxiety associated with having a chronic disease. I also had an unexplainable numb spot on my knee that she was able to correct in one session. I have since moved out of the area and gone to other acupuncturist but still have yet to meet Monicas match with proficiency and consistent relief.

Extremely satisfied with Monica. She has a calm nature, she is very descriptive with what the process of acupuncture is and never fails to explain what we are doing and how this is helpful to me personally. Definitely recommended.

The periodic acupuncture has proved to be very effective treating a family history in varicose veins, digestion, and allergy-based sinus pressure.
