Dr. Dimitry Lerner, MD

I was suffering with stage IV endometriosis for years. My OBGYN missed it and my PCP. I got a new PCP who finally listened and ran tests and had me get two ultrasounds and an MRI. I was scheduled for surgery and my OBGYN canceled at the last minute due to how complicated my endo had become which left me feeling hopeless and defeated. I was referred to Dr. Lerner and he was able to fit me in for surgery the same month. His staff was friendly and professional and both Dr. Lerner and his staff answered all my questions. They took care of my pre-auth that was needed and provided me with detailed instructions prior to surgery. My surgery itself was successful and I felt like I was in the best hands the entire time. I had zero complications and Dr. Lerner sent me home with everything I needed and detailed instructions. He followed up with a phone call a few days after my surgery and seen me again in person for my post-op appointment shortly after. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs surgery. After years of suffering with debilitating endo pain and inflammation I finally feel like I have my life back.

Im am SO GRATEFUL to Dr. Lerner. He is a phenomenal surgeon who gave me a total hysterectomy with zero complications. He immediately recognized my urgent need for surgery and fit me in to his busy schedule in less than two weeks. Once I am done healing, I believe I will have almost no visible scars. Hes amazing.

This Dr may as well be taking to the wall. No bed side manners at all! Please don’t do what I did and trust the man. He had my consent to operate but did not have my informed consent! There is a big difference! I refused to go to see him again. Stay away from this Dr!

Both my wife and I had an amazing experience with Dr. Lerner. The first day we walked into his office very nervous and scared. During my wifes initial examination by Dr. Lerner I was present. Going into this I was a little on edge. However his bedside manner was great and he took the time to make me feel as comfortable as he did my wife. Dr. Lerner answered all of our questions and explained everything thoroughly. When leaving his office We both knew that she was in the best hands.. I cant express how grateful we are to him and how helpful he was in our lives. My wife and I highly recommend Dr. Lerner.

Dr. Lerner is an exception surgeon with a calming bedside manor. I have the utmost respect for him and his team having been served by them at Alta Bates Summit Campus Oakland.Everyone involved in my care are the ultimate in professionalism and kindness. I have to add my voice to the chorus praising Dr. Lerner. Not only is he a brilliant surgeon with a calm and reassuring bedside manner, he has a fantastic sense of humor. Anyone lucky enough to get a referral to him should relax and know that they are in exceptional hands.

A competent, attentive doctor who conveys security to the patient, as this is what I felt from the first consultation and in the consultations that followed, especially during the surgery. Great!

He is amazing brilliant kind clear patient and during a terrifying time I was sure I was safe.
