One thing I really respect when it comes to a doctors office is patience and dedication. I saw both these aspects in the office. The lady at the front desk was helpful and really made sure that I could get care even though there was a insurance mess up in the beginning. Online it said my insurance was not accepted by Planned Parenthood but then she called them and ran through some papers to double check, and actually turns out that I was covered by my insurance. When I was taken back by the doctor, she explained everything that she was doing and made sure that I was okay many times, and I respect that highly. She was very kind and did a good job at explaining my procedure.I saw empathy, patience, and overall professionalism between the three workers I spoke to. I highly value these traits and I’m glad that the PP in York executed them.
My daughter recently came here as of 7/5/24, she told me they were treating her nicely and complimented her on her nails Its my daughters first time being pregnant. Shes 18. as soon as it was time for the surgical abortion procedure , I was immediately let down and disappointed, I am mute but can hear very well. The first part of the procedure my daughter did great , she was fine with the lidocaine shot on her cervix and even made jokes about how the ringing sounded like aliens speaking. She was semi fine with the speculum insertion aswell. she asked the doctor how long the procedure would take , The doctor lied to her and told her it would take two minutes. The vacuuming took 4 minutes approx. My daughter was screaming and kicking and even apologizing over and over again for moving. She would ask for breaks even asked for the doctor to give her something to bite down on. The doctor told her she would not start again unless my daughter said so, at times the doctor would start without telling my daughter and my daughter was in so much pain she was screaming begging for them to tie her down so she doesn’t move. She screamed and yelled and told them it felt like she was being gutted alive & She begged for the doctor to stop the procedure so she could go to a different location to be sedated (this was before they perforated her water.) they deemed her unsafe and ended up stopping the procedure after the fact that the doctor had already perforated her water & couldn’t proceed anymore. the doctor walked out the room along with the 2 other nurses. My daughter lost a lot of blood, was lightheaded and almost fell while trying to put her pants on. They sent her over to the wellspan hospital in york, didn’t give her paperwork. Had her sign a consent form and rushed her out the building through the back. Shes at the hospital now , told her experience to the doctor and nurses, and now the nurses are trying to call the clinic to get paperwork for a summary of her visit there. And guess what!!! The planned parenthood clinic is closed now.I do not recommend surgical abortion if you are 18 or under, height 5’0-5’4 or lb 98-115 , You will not be able to sit through that without being sedated. Most horrible experience i’ve had yet. I had to listen to my daughters blood curdling screams and cries. It sounded like she was getting murdered and I felt extremely sorry and bad that my daughter had to go through that horrible experience.Shame on you planned parenthood ! I’m ashamed of myself that i put my trust in this clinic to take care of my daughter.
Great experience with me & the girlfriend. The guy at the front desk was very welcoming and put us at ease. Highly recommend.
Such a God send . I have been here on and off for different care and it’s always been a pleasant experience . I had some concerns recently leading to a change in my original appointment . not only were they fantastic in their approach to the situation , they helped educate and support me through the whole experience . I could not be more grateful they made the time and accommodations for my medical needs even though they changed . Be mindful , it’s a resource a lot of people can use and sometimes does lead up to long wait times depending on why you are there . However , they’re constantly checking in and helping move the process along . You aren’t waiting because they’re playing on their phone or messing around , these ladies keep it moving and show care to everyone that comes through .
I have only been here one time last year, and it was just a brief stop, but everyone working in the office was so sweet and understanding— they hooked me right up. Would definitely recommend them for your needs based on the service I received!
I went to planned parenthood for birth control following the birth of my child. My first encounter was virtual and was given an rx for the ring as requested. It was simple and easy! My second encounter was 2 months later when I determined the ring wasnt for me. I came in person to have an IUD placed. Staff was knowledgeable, caring and informative. The PA was gentle and explained everything well as she was inserting the IUD. Overall a great experience.
I made an appointment online the day before and when I arrived early I was able to be seen almost immediately! The staff is very professional and friendly and in the event of those delusional protesting crazies there are the kindest women who will walk you from your car to the door and a security guard as well.My appointment was a breeze, everything seemed clean and sterile, and there is often financial assistance available if you need it
The staff was super kind and caring. I really appreciated everyone being so friendly and talking to me the entire time. My doctor was amazing and we had a great conversation so that I was less nervous. I would always come back to this location for all of my healthcare needs!!
They rush you youre in one room and out of another so fast it feels like theyre trying to rush you so you dont change youre mind they dont make sure its the right decisions for you and dont give very much counseling about other options its the worst mistake Ive ever made and I regret it so much. Its in such a bad part of the city and they wont let you bring anyone with you inside. The doctor was very rude at first and they dont give you very much privacy when it comes to dressing and undressing for procedures. They just put up a sheet and turn their head. I will never go to another planned parenthood again and after my procedure I tried to look up birth control on their app and theyre supposed to be affordable without insurance but its $200 a month for 3 patches.
I am so grateful for Planned Parenthood. Prompt service, the front office staff was great and the PA even worked through her lunch break to accommodate me having to go back to work. Highly recommend!
Scheduled a last minute visit as I don’t have an OB and was having some concerns. Was able to easily make an appointment online. While my appointment wasn’t in their system I did have a screenshot of the scheduled appointment and they were able to see me without issue. The place was very clean and staff were professional and answered whatever questions I had. Very appreciative of the competent care.
Both phone calls I was on hold for over 10 minutes yet when you go there. It’s not busy and the lady behind the desk is doing nothing... i called an hour before my appointment time to confirm the appointment I made a week prior. The lady wasnt nice on the phone but said yes they could give me an exam as scheduled.I got there a little early. Two old men were outside the parking lot sitting on lawn chairs next to a van covered with banners about prolife and were looking at me as I walked in....it made me feel uncomfortable from the start. Once inside they told me they cancelled my appointment. No phone call or nothing they said they cut staff short or something. But I confirmed the appointment an hour before. Places like this shouldn’t exist!!! It’s a huge embarrassing failure.Im sick and bleeding and needed treatment now I have to wait for another appointment at another place!!!!
So they’re amazing. Tmi warning ⚠️Last year pretty much around this time i needed to get two things done well at the moment i had no insurance and limited founds and THEM knowing that i had test a pap and medication ( BV medication) paid for !! They’re so sweet I love them to the point i legit was looking up a job to work there 😂💛 I had one misunderstanding and it was cleared up right away , again super sweet ladies and they celebrate with you. If i could give more stars I’d definitely would
New patient at this facility: came 30min prior to appointment;MISTAKEDoesnt matter what time you get here wasnt even seen until 90min after my SCHEDULED appointment time. A lady came up to counter to complain and they willingly accepted her prior to two people ahead of her..Is this what is required to get appropriate service???I guess one can only expect so much from a clinic; nevertheless, it shouldnt be allowed in a service field.
The appointment started out fine but when it come time to give me pain meds, they didnt wait for the meds to help me. The doctor said everything would be fine and the nurse was holding my hand. I was already scared and about halfway through the prep work, I backed out. After that, the nurse and the doctor became rude and disrespectful to me. It was a horrible feeling for someone my age, 24, to have to deal with. Please dont go here
Had a very pleasant couple of visits. The staff is so caring and compassionate. They listened to me, and explained everything thoroughly. I am so glad I chose this facility for my preventative care. Would definitely recommend.
I love that you can easily schedule appointments online. I always can get an appointment within a few days. All the employees, from the doctors to the assistants, have always been friendly and caring towards me. PP makes important reproductive healthcare as accesible as possible to everyone. I could go somewhere else if i wanted to, but I choose to go here to support this organization.
I take the depo birth control shot, which must be taken every 3 months. I have a 3 week window to receive my shot or else my period will be off. I came to my 9am appointment and was told my prescription ran out so Id have to have my yearly exam with a clinician before I could get my shot, aka Id have to re-schedule or be a walk-in. First of all, why wouldnt you check this BEFORE someone takes off work/drives the whole way there, secondly, I couldnt re-schedule until 3 weeks later!!! Dont you realize youre messing up someones period? Thats my health youre messing with. So Im upset but I make the appointment. The day before my appointment I have to cancel because, surprise, my period is now irregular, I have it, so I cant come in for an examination. I call PP from 9am until 1pm to cancel and I dont get a call back until the NEXT DAY at 8am. The girl says shell put me in as a no-show and I might get charged so I should call back at 10am when billing is in. This confuses me so I call back and a new girl says no one gets charged for not showing up to an appointment. So which one is it!? Planned Parenthood, get it together. Youre some peoples only option, and dealing with someones health is a sensitive subject so be more thoughtful and make sure your employees know what theyre talking about. I wont be returning.
Planned parenthood is essential to womens rights. They have systems in place for reasons to counsel women through lifes challenges. Ive only been once to help a friend, but plan to go back if I ever need one of their many services. I appreciate what they do and hope we never lose their services.
Do not believe the bad reviews. I came early to my appointment and got taken back right away. The staff is very polite, kind, and helped me with everything I needed.
It’s really a joke how you schedule an appointment and everytime you call the appointment line it says they’re OPEN and that I’m clearly on the schedule for my appointment yet here I stand OUTSIDE for over 20 minutes while NOBODY answers the phone or the door. This really is a whole joke so whoever works on Monday’s during the afternoon should clearly be fired. A whole JOKE.
Absolutely amazing care! From escorts into the building to nurses and doctors, each and every one of them were PHENOMENAL!
Horrible. On hold for over 30 minutes to change my appointment time since I was gonna be late. I then walked in & there was no one in the waiting room, few minutes after she finically came in and unlocked the door for me & couldnt see me at the time I came in.
Everyone was super nice and professional! I Got an iud put in. It was fast and painless so I definitely recommend going to this Planned Parenthood.
It was horrible I went there for an anual exam appointment was at 130 got called back at 2 my appointment required me to get a pregnancy test because I was having issues with my period got that done was told the doctor would be in waited an hour for the doctor for her to tell me that I wouldnt be able to get a pap done due to me having issues with my period that I had to reschedule ummmm so I sit there for almost 3 hr for this smh on top of that I didnt get my test results an the doctor was rude horrible place will never go again !!!!
Wonderful, attentive staff. Free pregnancy test and kindness. Dont believe the bad reviews, theyre out here by insane protesters and idiots.
They were so nice & helpful ! even when i was sick nonstop they gave me great resources to help it :) staff so friendly love y’all 🥺
Each time Ive been, I was in and out quick. Everyone was nice and very helpful.
Everyone here is kind, caring and understanding. I could not have asked for a better group of people to take care of me.
They are so friendly and helpful here. I would defiantly recommend.
The staff was incredibly kind, patient and helpful!!
Worse job EVER, period
They are soooooooo slow
Everyone was very nice and supportive, it was painful for sure but overall very good people.
