My first experience at Tia was absolutely amazing. Upon entering, I was greeted by the receptionist and within a few minutes I was checked in. The space is beautiful, warm and welcoming. The doctor is kind and a great listener. I felt heard and now I have a primary care physician. Success!!!

I have had a really positive experience since moving my primary care to Tia in Williamsburg. The staff are so incredible, it has been super simple to make appointments, and they are incredibly helpful when I ask for clarification or if I want to learn more about particular treatments. I highly recommend Tia, both for the in person experience as well as for their virtual care. Having all my healthcare centralized here has making prioritizing my health a lot easier in my busy life.

Edit: changed from 2 stars to 5! Once I had my first in person appointment everything’s been going great. They truly care about your health and I’ve never had such a positive doctor’s experience.Old review:I really wanted to love this place, but I’ve now had my virtual appointment (entry appointment to their services) canceled three times on me now-the first time no one ever showed up! I’m going to give it one more try but will be canceling my subscription to their services and going elsewhere if I keep getting canceled on.

UPDATE answering response from owner:You will pay the fee, wait weeks to months for an actual appt, get horrible care from a non doctor- even the staff knows & admits what a chaotic mess this place is. I was a member for years & am so relieved I finally came to my senses & moved on. The robes are pretty tho. They must not like my comments & reviews, because I just received a bill from a visit over a year ago! Coincidence? The only transparency of this place is how messy it always is! Ill take paper gowns with excellent healthcare any day! Good luck!Response from the owner 18 hours ago:Thank you so much for sharing this feedback with us. We will be sure to share this with our teamTia, I’ve shared this feedback with your team several times while I was a member, hoping it’d get better. I share this review to help women avoid similar situations that I was in as a member of Tia, that I had to learn the hard way. The years of frustration I’ve had while paying a membership fee seems so unacceptable to me. Especially now when I’m with a standard practice, paying no membership fee, & receiving excellent care that I’ve deserved all along..If only your health care were as good as your advertising & social media presence.

I wanted to love this place because the providers are amazing and its a really cozy and clean space. However, the other issues make it feel like a waste of time and money. I am not sure if it is an issue of being understaffed, but everything else about tia feels like a huge hassle. It is nearly impossible to get in contact with your provider. It takes weeks to get any questions answered via the online portal. Additionally, I came in for some health clearance paperwork for grad school, only one side of the two sided document was sent to me, and it took me weeks of calling and messaging to get them to send over the other side of the form. The online platform is also not great. Your health records, prescriptions, and labs are kinda all over the place. You will likely see multiple different providers (which is fine for me), but it doesnt seem like they have access to all of your health information either. Every appointment feels like youre starting at square one, even if you are coming in for the same issue. Ive been told conflicting things from different providers and this makes it way more difficult to get effective treatment. Hopefully these issues can be addressed because the people that work there are really incredible, but everything else feels like a frustrating mess that wastes your time, money, and doesnt actually prioritize your health.

Have over charged multiple times and I had to call billing to fix. Usually you do not see an MD, made me come in for services that the doctor said an appt was not needed all to charge me more money. My last straw was after being late for 5 minutes past their grace period they would not see me although they do not have a phone number one can easily call to let them know in advance, and they have made me wait over 30 minutes to be seen in the past. They are a rip off and charge you a monthly membership fee for no benefits.

I’ve been a member here for a few years and never had any of the issues I see posted about. I have no problems with scheduling or following up, and the member portal makes it easy to get a response. My insurance isn’t great and I got a bill from quest diagnostics for some bloodwork, but as it turns out that was a problem with the way the lab billed it and nothing that Tia did. All my providers have been super with their bedside manner and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!

I had to jump on here after my expirence with Tia. I am a 28 year old female who has the same issue as other people my age and thats having proper care thats affordable. TIA tricks you by saying you will pay the membership and its all 1 2 3. Well you pay the membership literally to just have access to book with them and thats it. If you have insurance this will be different for you because I am personally paying out of pocket. I never in my years of having good medical insurance have had to do and pay for a consultation before recieving care... that they are just asking you literally basic questions about your lifestyle and then you have to pay $297. Then on the day of my actual appointment the clinic is clean for sure but when I get grabbed by my nurse I was walking behind her and she reaked of cigerettes. I dont know what the rules are for smoking and being a nurse but it felt unprofessional for a clinic I am spending alot of money for. My doctor kyle was nice but intense and I didnt feel very at ease in my appointment ($145) which was mainly just talking alot before the exam.He was trying to make me take alot of blood work tests which I then told him I am paying out of pocket so I really just care about my PAP smear since my sister had died from cervical cancer. He does a basic exam and swabbed with the cigerette nurse in the room with us and I go to get my blood work done for basic needs the nurse that took my blood was LOVELY tho so one good thing for sure. After my appointment I was continously harrassed with text messages to do the after care call ( which is $227) when my results came in and everything in the blood work said it was fine so why would I have to pay to talk about my results (I didnt do this because I was already disatisfied) . I then get the Quest bill and thats what I wasnt expecting especially when they said on their website that lab costs were $20 for each lab test that was taken because thats what it said on their website. I get a quest bill for over $600... which would put me at spending around $1042 because of Tia.Never again will I use them and you shouldnt either.

Yes its a little tough getting in contact with your provider through the portal, but I went to them with a handful of fairly serious health concerns that several other doctors hadnt known what to do with prior and in my first consultation that were able to better diagnose the cause and connection of my conditions better than any doctor I had been to. They ended up being right in their diagnosis and I have relief from those issues for the first time in over 3 years. I generally am averse to doctors after many fine or less than fine experiences but I felt listened to and in good hands at Tia.

I’m very frustrated right now. I was stuck in a very expensive Uber and missed Tia’s 10 minute grace period by 3 minutes. Though pleasant, the front desk person said “let me check Soho’s availability” twice -After I said I can’t go there today. There really was no reason not to be taken- as my appointment would take about 10 minutes and was scheduled for 45 minutes. It seems like a front desk gate keeping power play- and for the record I do understand late policies- as I’m the owner of a Manhattan hair salon. I’m now sitting in the waiting room hoping to be seen listening to the front desk people’s personal conversations. Tia says they’re trying to make our lives easier but the app is tedious as well. In short- not thrilled

Tia is dangerous. Do not go here. I recently had bloodwork done here and it took them 9+ days to get me the results. When the results finally came in, I received a very urgent phone call from the Doctor (at 7pm on a Friday night) saying my potassium level was extremely high and I needed to get bloodwork repeated immediately and potentially go to the ER. I then could not get in touch with this doctor for 3 days via the “Tia message portal” or via phone. She didn’t give me the necessary paperwork to get the bloodwork done, leading me to go to the ER after emotionally spiraling for 3 days. She said that high potassium levels can impact your heart, which was very alarming and serious.Turns out, after a very expensive trip to the ER, everything is fine. All of Tia’s bloodwork was false. I have never felt less cared for as a patient. To top it off, the week prior, I had acupuncture at Tia, and the woman forgot to remove a pin in my leg. I found it on my own. Yep, that happened.Canceling membership, this place is a scam.

I was nervous for my first visit because of the reviews but overall good experience. They were running behind but chatting it up with the Medical assistant, she said that they had a lot of call outs that day. The staff was nice. The provider listened and made a range of suggestions based on my comfort level. Grab yourself a fancy Recess sparkling water, you’re paying for it anyway with that membership fee :) I haven’t experienced billing yet… so we’ll see how that goes.

I’ve actually only had good experiences with Tia. This is likely because I don’t have complicated insurance or complicated needs, but I’ve done an annual checkup, multiple blood tests, and a Pap smear. The staff are SO good at taking blood samples - it literally is about 60 seconds from when you sit in the chair to when you’re done. So if you’re nervous about that you are in good hands.I had a Pap smear done by Kyle, who was super calming, and informed me about exactly what he was about to do. They also use warmed speculums and lube, which made it the most comfortable one ive ever had done.Criticism about never seeing the same provider twice is true in my experience. You get hot potatoed to whoever is free. I am personally not too bothered by this.It used to be hard to book appointments a few months ago, but I notice now that I am always able to get an appointment within a week or two.

Ive had 3 positive experiences with them. I like that I can have my mental health + physical health check out all at one location. They are quick, so I can understand how guests with many health concerns would feel like they were rushed, but if you just need your yearly check up its a great place to start. I didnt feel like I was unable to speak about any concerns, I just didnt have any. Overall I think they are extremely worth it, especially for anyone who has anxiety when going to the doctors office.

If I could give less than a 1 star review I would. Not only has it been difficult to schedule appointments, communicate, and process insurance with this team, but now I have had a provider who began a zoom check up 10 minutes late with no communication that they were running behind HANG UP ON ME because she didnt know the answer to a question.I tried calling to get more immediate answers but there is no direct line of communication with any of the staff or offices and they are slow to respond on their portal.the portal also pops messages off into various conversations with dozens of staff making it unclear to figure out who you are supposed to be contacting and results in you getting bumped around a group of UNKNOWLEDGEABLE providers.

I really did not want to write a bad review although Tia deserves it. This place is a disaster. They LIED and said that they offer GYN services at the Williamsburg clinic. They do not. I was told that I would be seen by a GYN after asking if I would. I went to the appointment, a physicians assistant or nurse came in and took all kinds of tests but no GYN came in. I eventually was told that they dont offer this service at this location. After cancelling a year ago I am still receiving a bill for service. They also submitted a claim stating that I saw Dr. Moritz at the Flatiron location when I never stepped foot into that center.

I wanted to like Tia, but like many others, have given up on them. While staff were always nice, I ran into several issues that were really frustrating:1. They fired their entire therapy team, instead replacing with group therapy. This felt wildly contradictory to all their messaging and social media campaigns around being a healthcare provider for all services.2. I basically never saw the same provider twice, and while its convenient to just book whenever, the result is always feeling brand new and having to explain yourself over and over3. I quit Tia months ago, and JUST received a bill from a January annual exam. The email mentioned it can take up to 6 months because of insurance, but were past 10 months here, not sure whats going on in their billing department, but thats a hot mess. All in all, it feels like smoke and mirrors instead of actual innovative care. Sadly.

I honestly don’t understand the low reviews here. I’m not discounting others’ experiences, but I wanted to add my own to the mix.I’ve been to a lot of doctors offices and a lot of OBGYN’s. Tia is far and above the best experience I’ve ever had. The caregivers are kind, understanding, gentle, and take the time to explain procedures before they do them (which many women like me know that that’s not always the norm when it comes to pelvic exams). The space is beautiful, the music is calming, and the staff are always professional.I saw some people comment that they don’t like that you don’t have a consistent provider. One of the things that I love about Tia is that with different locations and providers I can be seen almost immediately. While I like the consistency of seeing the same person, sometimes the urgency of seeing someone takes priority (and what I need to be seen for I don’t necessarily need to see the same provider for). And you are able to continually schedule with the same person if you want, so you don’t actually have to see different providers if you don’t want to. They do a good job of communicating info between doctors and I’ve never felt a gap in my care due to seeing someone new. I’ve liked all of the providers I’ve seen and many of them remembered me even though I’d only met them once. The membership is worth the fee in my opinion to be able to have an OB and primary care doc under one roof (as well as things like acupuncture). And to be in such a calming and well designed space. I agree with the reviews saying that they need an app because the website isn’t the best designed and it’s a hassle to log in every time you want to book an appointment or message your care provider. But, that’s my biggest complaint.I’ve been to doctors who have gaslit me, over medicated or misdiagnosed me, ignored me, taken weeks to see, or haven’t taken the time to explain what’s going on with me or what’s being done. You won’t find that at Tia. You won’t be greeted by rude receptionists, have to navigate your way through a giant complex of a building, or sit in fluorescent lighting with old magazines and half hour wait times. Tia feels like you aren’t even at the doctor, and for anyone who has medical anxiety, that’s a big deal. And that is why I will continue to visit Tia and recommend them to everyone I know.

I really wanted to love Tia. The concept is great, the space is beautiful, BUT… all my experiences with them have been horrible. While I can go back and revisit my prior bad experiences with them, I’ll do my most recent one.I went in to see the doctor about ear problems. My appointment was at 1:10. I did not see the doctor for almost an hour. And when I finally did see her, it felt rush. She told me nothing was wrong with my ear but gave me ear drops to help with some internal redness. Over two weeks after seeing the doctor, I was still having ear problems. I decided to see a different doctor (outside the Tia network) for a different opinion. The doctor told me I was likely misdiagnosed in my last visit (that visit would be the one with the Tia doctor) and the medicine they did give me caused the infection to get worst. So, not only was my appointment late, and the doctor was rushing through it, but she also didn’t provide good care.

I feel completely ripped off by their billing strategies -I have terrible health insurance through my employer, I know that. Prior to our $6,000 family deductible, our insurance pays for nothing, with the exception of our annual physical, so I always try and take advantage of my one free doctor visit. This is the reason I signed up for Tia, because the 3-part whole health exam sounded like I was getting a proper, holistic physical instead of the standard, 15-minute visit. To my surprise, after my first 2 appointments (virtual first appointment, then in-person appointment with blood work that I was told would be covered as part of my physical by insurance), I got bills for a total of $400 for lab work and patient responsibility from Tia. I needed to schedule the follow up, that I thought was part of the 3-part hole health exam, but I was hesitant, given the unexpected bill and that I couldnt afford any more out-of-pocket expenses. I checked in with their billing department prior to booking, and the person I spoke to said she completely understood why I was outraged by this, and expressed some frustration herself: she explained to me that only the 2nd visit was considered a physical, and the other 2 parts were billed as regular visits! She also gave me some valuable information on their practices to get people to schedule an additional follow up visit, because the regular follow ups are only scheduled for 15 minutes so its almost impossible to actually discuss any issues/concerns without scheduling yet another detailed follow up appointment. It seems like Tia is trying to mislead patients and to get them to keep scheduling appointments that insurances like mine dont pay for. I am constantly prompted to schedule a mood check in, which would cost me over $200 out of pocket. I am a young woman in the most expensive city in the country - a $400 unexpected medical bill is not something that doesnt matter to me. In this case, it meant I had to cancel my trip to see my aging grand parents.Needless to say, I will not be renewing my Tia membership.

The Tia membership is not worth it. Seems like the membership fee just goes to keeping the space pretty because whenever you message about any issue they just tell you that you need to see a care coordinator but then the next appointment availability will be weeks away. You will also never see the same provider more than once. It’s impossible to build any relationship. I did their whole 3 part exam thing and was extremely disappointed that during the in-person exam, the practitioner didn’t refer to anything spoken about during my first part. The visit was so quick, basically just took my vitals, took some blood, told me to change, and was out the door before I could even process the visit was over. I was led to believe in the first visit that there would be the opportunity to speak more in-depth about my health concerns during the in-person part but nope— no real dialogue at all.Even worse was I contacted them about how disappointed I was in the experience and heard nothing back. People in the healthcare industry these days just straight up don’t care about patients, it’s all about making money, and Tia is evidence of this.

The staff are well mannered and pleasant.I wouldn’t recommend TIA because it’s like any other clinic in that you see different people each time and the appointments are hard to schedule and when appointments are scheduled they may be cancelled or scheduled incorrectly. Review №26

For all the marketing they pump out about this medical group, the medical care & communication is exceptionally bad. TLDR - you are bounced around without having an actual PCP. Nobody really knows your health history or is able to actually advocate for you in any way. You fill out all your medical info before each appointment, and it is briefly (if at all) actually reviewed by the provider. Expect to do all the appointment scheduling, insurance communication, and referral outreach yourself. If you need something from the care team your only option is to message from the portal, and wait wait wait. I’ve been waiting 2 weeks to simply get the form to schedule an appointment for something that is medically time sensitive. Another pillar to their model is billing your insurance as much as humanly possible. This means scheduling a ton of meaningless appointments, many that would be phone calls traditionally (blood test results for example). It’s a scam to get as much $$$ from you and your insurance as possible. Definitely DO NOT recommend. When you sign up you start by scheduling a “whole medical exam” - first one virtual appointment, then an in-person, then a follow-up to discuss blood test results. Before the appointment you’re expected to fill out an extensive medical record form online (took me 15 minutes), and can’t start your appointment without completing it. At first this seems really good because they have all your info up front and you *think* you’re going to have an in-depth discussion about your medical history (finally a doctor that cares!). In reality, the NP briefly scans it, then confirms some of the answers, and doesn’t ask any follow up questions. The entire virtual appointment took less than 10 minutes.Having had lots of health things on my mind I was thinking that it wouldn’t be a problem, I’ll get to discuss with the doctor in person! Wrong lol. Despite all the beautiful amenities of the office, the care followed the same pattern. The doctor walks in, doesn’t introduce herself, and confirms basic health info. Then proceeds to do a breast exam and make awkward small talk because, again, we’ve met for maybe 3 minutes at this point. After the exam she asked if I had any questions and I thought finally I can chat about some of the health markers that had changed, but wrong again! She said she’d take note and had a care team specialist follow up later to schedule another appointment or make a referral 😑 this is a KEY part of their money making scheme - get you in for as many appointments as possible so they can bill your insurance a ton of of times. This is a prime example where capitalism is king and you’re just another data point. Don’t waste your time here and go to a real provider network.

I see some other folks had difficulties with the process (via other reviews) but my experience was really easy, seamless and pleasant—my NP for the pre-visit and follow up was very caring and helped me understand my lab results during my follow-up call. Getting referrals for specialists has been no problem and theyve even stayed on calls with me to ensure everything gets booked smoothly. This is one of the only places that will actually take the time to help you understand the full picture of your health with a human being and not just a lab report. Im a convert!

A work conflict came up during my first virtual appointment so I had to reschedule for 3 weeks later but due to my needs I also requested to book part 2 of my appointment as well. I had my actual virtual part 1 yesterday and the tech was friendly and attentive. However she didnt know that I had already booked part 2 and there was no reminder on my portal until this morning at 8am and my appointment is scheduled for 9am. I tried reaching out to the Williamsburg location to let them know due construction I was stuck in traffic. I was 2mins past the 10min grace period and had to reschedule but the next appointment wouldnt be for several weeks, plus there was only one service provider available. I left the office and went outside to cry. I dont trust doctors and I want to trust Tia but 2mins should not be what stops me from getting care. I canceled my membership and googled walk-in gyno appointments and went somewhere else. Im at the walk in clinic now doing all the exams I was supposed to do at Tia in 1 part instead of 3 parts. This clinic has an all female staff and has been great. I will not be recommending TIA ever to anyone.

This place is a scam. Its beautiful to look at and the marketing is effective, but when it comes to actual healthcare and timeliness, Tia falls short. I came in for a painful reaction to a medication and in the entire establishment there was no doctor! Just one PA who was providing care for all the clients of the day. She didnt know anything about my condition, said um maybe and im not sure about 30 times during my appointment (not something you want to hear while in extreme pain at the doctors office) and prescribed me ZYRTEC! An over the counter allergy pill that I already take daily. It was a joke. I felt so embarrassed and really wasted my time. In the end I went straight to CITY MD on Bedford where I received quick and effective treatment from the lovely doctors there. Tia, you cant have a medical practice and not have the medical practitioners needed to back it up. It isnt safe! I was supposed to hear from management weeks ago to talk about my concerns but they never reached out. Really wanted to give this place a second chance but its a no from me.

Tia is way too focused on virtual care, and window dressing, literally everything is a virtual appointment or a chat with someone from the “care” team. In-person appointments are few and far between, they’re either weeks or a month out, so I ended up going to the urgent care due to the lack of availability. There’s no point in paying for a membership when you can’t get the care you need. It is humiliating to go into that detail and walk in a room with someone who has no idea why you’re there (and they give no indication if it’s a PA, NP, or MD). No investigation for serious medical concerns I have that I have brought up with the care team multiple times. As a person in a bigger body, this was overall a fantastic experience. Not once was my weight mentioned or was weight loss encouraged. I wasnt even met with an odd look when I denied being weighed. They even had robes in extended sizing. This is a welcoming and safe space. I was unfortunately sad to see an email blast as a member saying Ask us about weight management. Weight management is just a fancy word for weight loss. As most attempts as weight loss result in weight cycling and higher weight long term, I find this irresponsible. Even if the email is referring to GLP-1 medication, the side effects of that can be severe and its basically cat nip to anyone already engaging in disordered eating. I do however trust the TIA care team to be able to tell if someone is and is not a good fit for that medication - but big picture - sending out that email blast was at minimum disappointing to me. I will continue to be a member because as its the still the safest place for a plus size patient and I will still recommend it as such. I give more in depth reviews on Betches Media podcast Good Bodies if anyone wants to hear more. (not sponsored of course haha)
